한약재는 저장 및 유통과정에서 약 20여종의 저장해충이 발생하는 것으로 알려져 있으나 화랑곡나방(Plodia interpunctella H.), 권연벌레(Lasioderma serricorne F.), 거짓쌀도둑거저리(Tribolium castaneum H.) 등 일부 우점해충이 이들 피해의 절반이상을 차지하고 있는 것으로 파악되고 있다. 그런데 시중유통 한약재 중에는 저장해충 외에 권련침벌 등 포식성 해충이 함께 발견되고 있으나 이에 대한 조사나 연구결과는 거의 없는 상황이다. 본 연구는 한약재 저장해충의 생태네트워크를 파악하기 위하여 기존의 문헌들을 바탕으로 이들 해충의 포식관계를 조사하고 시중유통 한약재 중 비교적 해충오염도가 높은 약재를 번식이 유리한 온습도 조건에서 보관하며 해충밀도를 높인 후 자연 증식한 숙주와 포식해충의 생태를 현미경으로 관찰하였다. 국내외 문헌조사결과 권연벌레의 천적은 권련침벌, 곤충병원성선충, 쌀바구미금좀벌, 긴털가루응애 등이 밝혀진바 있고, 화랑곡나방의 천적은 보리나방살이고치벌이 그리고 거짓쌀도둑거저리의 천적은 긴털가루응애(Tyrophagus putrescentiae S.)가 확인된바 있다. 실제로 오염 한약재인 천궁, 방풍 등을 보관하는 과정에서도 권연벌레의 밀도가 높아지자 권련침벌(Cephalonomia gallicola H.)이 크게 발생하였고, 긴털가루응애는 권연벌레와 거짓쌀도둑거저리 모두에게서 발견되었다. 그러나 권련침벌의 경우 한약재를 구입할 때부터 포장지 내에 권연벌레와 함께 있는 것이 확인되었으나 긴털가루응애는 처음부터 한약재 포장 속에 있었는지 한약재 보관실험과정에서 주변으로부터 오염되었는지는 확인되지 않았다. 긴털가루응애의 발생직후 확산속도는 습도가 높을 경우 권련침벌보다 훨씬 빨랐으며 습도를 30% 이하로 낮출 경우에는 밀도가 크게 떨어졌다. Sm. Ch. Papadopoulou(2006)는 권련침벌이 한집단내 권연벌레 유충을 평균 약 20%가량 포식하는 것으로 조사하였으나 본 관찰결과 이보다 훨씬 많이 발생하였으며 권연벌레의 밀도를 90%이상 감소시킨 경우도 있었다. 본 조사를 통해 관련 천적들이 주요 저장해충의 밀도를 어떤 조건에서 얼마나 낮출 수 있는지에 관한 계량적인 연구결과는 아직 부족하나 천적으로 활용하기에는 인체 위해성 및 다른 식품 등으로의 2차오염 가능성이 있어 다소 부적합 할 것으로 판단된다.
2007년에 도입된 인삼 임의자조금제도가 앞으로 범 인삼업 계가 참여하는 의무자조금제도로 전환될 예정이다. 인삼 의무 자조금의 성공적인 조성과 운용을 위해서는 자조금 거출액을 합리적인 수준으로 책정하고 인삼 농가들의 자발적인 참여를 유도하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 이중양분선택형 조건 부가치평가법(CVM)을 이용하여 인삼 의무자조금에 대한 농 가의 지불의사액을 추정하였으며, 주요 결과 및 시사점은 다 음과 같다. 1. 인삼 의무자조금에 대한 농가 지불의사액(WTP)의 평균 값(Mean WTP)과 중앙값(Median WTP)은 각각 117.27원/kg 과 86.81원/kg으로 추정되었다. 따라서 인삼 대표자 그룹회의 에서 논의된 인삼 의무자조금 거출액인 100원/kg 수준이 무난 한 것으로 판단된다. 2. 인구통계학적 변수가 인삼 의무자조금 납부에 미치는 영 향을 검증한 결과 자조금에 대한 인지도가 높을수록, 그리고 교육수준이 높을수록 인삼 자조금을 납부할 확률이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 3. 기존에 인삼 임의자조금을 납부해온 농가일수록 의무자 조금을 납부할 확률이 낮아지는 것으로 나타났는데, 이러한 결 과는 인삼 자조금의 경제적 효과에 대한 회의적인 태도에서 비롯된다. 따라서 향후 인삼 의무자조금사업의 성공적인 안착 을 위해서는 인삼 농가들을 대상으로 자조금의 도입 취지, 필 요성, 경제적 효과 등에 대해 보다 확실히 인식시킴으로써 자 발적인 참여를 유도하는 것이 필요하다.
RAPD 마커를 이용하여 인삼 품종 및 육성계통의 유전적 다양성 및 유연관계를 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다.
1. 총 130개의 primer 중 polymorphism을 나타내는 70개의primer를 선발하였고, 그 중 재현성이 있으면서 polymorphism이 높은 25개의 primer를 선발하였다. 증폭된 DNA 단편의수는 189개이고, PCR 산물은 100 ~ 2,800 bp 범위로 증폭되었다.
2. 각 primer에 의해 증폭된 DNA 단편의 수는 3개 ~ 17개로 다양하였으며, primer 한 개당 평균 7.6개의 DNA 단편이증폭되었다. OPD19 primer를 이용한 유전분석 결과, 총 5개의 유전양상이 나타났는데, 약 500 ~ 1,300 bp의 증폭산물에서품종 및 계통 간 유전적 다형성을 나타냈다.
3. 선발된 primer별 대립인자는 최소 1.33에서 최대 2.00의 범위였고, 평균 1.709이었다. primer별 유전적 다양성은 OPD15가 가장 높았고, OPF2가 가장 낮은 값을 나타내었다. 본 연구에서 분석에 이용된 25개의 RAPD primer 중에서 D15, D19, B5, A19등은 인삼 품종과 계통에서 비교적 높은 수의 대립단편과 높은 유전적 다양성 값을 나타내는 primer였다.
4. 유사도 계수 0.98을 기준으로 24개의 품종 및 계통을 대상으로 군집분석을 수행한 결과, 미국에서 수집 육성된 G04116과 국내 품종인 천풍, 연풍 그리고 국내 육성 계통인 G04009, G04026, G04069, G04084는 그룹을 형성하지 않았고, 17개의 품종 및 계통은 2그룹으로 분류되었다. I 그룹에는 고풍, 금풍과 12계통(85%), II 그룹에 3계통(15%)이 포함되었다.
뱀딸기 추출물의 항산화, 항염, 항암활성을 검정한 결과는 다음과 같다.
·뱀딸기(D. chrysantha) 부위별 항산화활성을 비교해본 결과 전초 > 지상부 > 열매의 순으로 전초가 Ascorbic acid(34.72μg/ml)보다 높은 활성을 나타냈으며, 열매가 가장 낮게 나타났다.
·항염활성은 전초 > 지상부 > 열매의 순으로 항산화활성과 유사한 경향을 보였다.
·항암활성은 인체 자궁경부암세포 HeLa에 대해서 열매가 가장 높게 나타났으며, 전초는 낮게 나타났다. 간암세포 SKHep1에 대해서 지상부와 전초가 비슷한 활성으로 열매보다는 높게 나타났으나 전체적으로 낮은 활성을 나타내었다.
Background : Osteoclasts are differentiated from the monocytes/macrophages of hematopoietic cells, that excessive activities of bone-resorbing giant cells leads to pathological bone diseases such as osteoporosis (contained rheumatoid arthritis and autoimmune arthritis). Therefore, it is very important to suppress loss of bone mass by deactivation of osteoclast differentiation. In this context, we evaluated for the effects of black ginseng (BG) extract on TRAP activity, proliferation and differentiation in RANKL-induced osteoclastic RAW264.7 cells.
Methods and Results : The aim of this study is to figure out the potential anti-osteoporosis effects and the underlying mechanism of BG extract in RANKL-induced osteoclastic RAW264.7 cells. The ginsenoside Rg3, Rg5, Rk1 and Rh4 content of BG was increased more than Red ginseng (RG). The extracts of BG markedly reduced the activity of tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase-positive (TRAP+) multinucleated cells from osteoclastic RAW264.7 cells, without cytotoxicity. BG clearly inhibited RANKL-induced osteoclast differentiation by decreased calcitonin and TRAP (p < 0.01). Furthermore, ginseonside Rg5 and Rk1 significantly inhibited TRAP activity in formation of osteoclastic differentiation (p < 0.01). It is also found that Ginseonside Rg5 and Rk1 mixture more inhibits osteoclast differentiation activity.
Conclusion : Our results suggest that Black ginseng extract has an anti-osteoporosis effects in bone disease when administered as a food supplement and has potential as a therapeutic agent for osteoporosis.
Background : The human patch test is a method used to evaluate potential skin irritation after contact with a cosmetic materials. Pectin lyase-modified red ginseng extract (GS-E3D) is a newly developed ginsenoside Rd-enriched ginseng extract. This study was designed to investigate the skin safety of GS-E3D in human patch test.
Methods and Results : Thirty two female volunteers were tested with GS-E3D. GS-E3D (20 ㎕) was applied to occlusive patch test devices and was then applied onto the back of subject with normal skin for 24 hours. Cutaneous irritation responses were evaluated and graded according to criterion of International Contact Dermatitis Research Group (ICDRG) at 30 min, 24 hours, and 48 hours after removing of GS-E3D patch. The average age of subjects was 47.3 ± 9.3 years. Skin reactivity calculated from irritation score in GS-E3D treated group was 0.51 and skin irritation score of no application group was 0, respectively. Skin irritancy was no response in both GS-E3D treated group and no application group. From above data, GS-E3D was identified as a non-irritant according to ICDRG guideline that skin irritation score of ‘0.00 - 0.75’ is a non-irritant.
Conclusion : These results indicate that GS-E3D can be useful as a safe cometic ingredient.
Background : Pectin lyase-modified red ginseng extract (GS-E3D) is a newly developed ginsenoside Rd-enriched ginseng extract. This study was designed to investigate the acute oral and dermal toxicity of GS-E3D in rat.
Methods and Results : The acute oral toxic effects of GS-E3D in female SD rats were examined at dosages of 300 ㎎/㎏ and 2,000 ㎎/㎏. In acute dermal toxicity study, 500, 1,000 and 2,000 ㎎/㎏ of GS-E3D were applied onto the shaved skin of male and female SD rats. The weights of rats were recorded at 0, 1, 3, 7, and 14 days and clinical observation were checked once a day for a period of 14 days. All rats were scarified on 14th day and complete gross examination was conducted to detect any gross change of organs after necropsy. GS-E3D did not produce orally or dermally treatment-related clinical signs of toxicity or mortality in all rats during the 14-day observation period. The oral and dermal LD50 values of GS-E3D were over 2,000 ㎎/㎏ in rat. The oral and dermal administration of GS-E3D revealed no significant change in body weight and gross pathology examination compared to control group.
Conclusion : These results indicate that GS-E3D can be used as a food and cosmetic materials without critically adverse effect.
Background : Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is caused by obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, and genetic factors. Also, hyperinsulinemia directly promotes fat accumulation in hepatocytes. Therefore, it is very important to suppress the most common risks of NAFLD, such as obesity and insulin resistance. In this context, we evaluated for the effects of black ginseng (BG) extract on lipid accumulation inhibition and degradation in hepatocytes.
Methods and Results : The aim of this study is to figure out the potential anti-lipogenic effects and the underlying mechanism of BG extract in a cellular-, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) animal model associated with NAFLD. T2DM animal used C57BL/KsJ db/db mouse (M. 6 wk, n = 56), treated with extract of BG and Red ginseng (RG) (each 100 and 900 ㎎/ ㎏/day, p.o) for 6 weeks. BG markedly reduced palmitate-induced intracellular lipid accumulation in HepG2 cells. On histology of liver tissues of T2DM animal, macrovesicular lipid droplets in cytoplasm of hepatocytes were decreased both RG and BG-treated groups. In liver tissue, BG-treated groups suppressed CCAAT/enhancer binding protein-α (C/EBP-α), sterol regulatory element-binding protein-1c (SREBP-1c) expression, and SREBP-1c mediated induction of acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) and fatty acid synthase (FAS) proteins related to the induction of adipose differentiation. Futhermore, adenosine monophosphate (AMP)-activated protein kinase (AMPK) activity was significantly increased in BG-treated groups compared to RG-treated groups. It is also found that peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-α (PPAR-α) highly expressed in BG-treated groups.
Conclusion : Our results suggest that black ginseng extract has an anti-adipogenic and anti-lipogenic effects in the liver when administered as a food supplement and has potential as a therapeutic agent for obesity and T2DM induced NAFLD.
Backgoound : This study was conducted to serve as a basis for the selection of superior lines by analyzing the content of antioxidant component and antioxidant activity in Schisandra chinensis Collections Methods and Results : In order to examine antioxidant component and antioxidant activity, 154 species of Schisandra chinensis from whole country were used. Antioxidant component was investigated by total flavonoid content and total phenolic content and antioxidant activity was evaluated by DPPH radical scavenging activity and ABTS radical scavenging activity. As a result, the total amounts of flavonoids was highest in SC-20 with 5.03 ㎎/g. However the content of polyphenols showed highest in SC-22 with 2.76 ㎎/g. In addition antioxidant activity results were also relatively high in SC-22. The IC50 value was 548 ㎍/㎖ in DPPH radical scavenging and 640 ㎍/㎖. in ABTS+ radical scavenging. Conclusion : As demand for high income crop has increased, new cultivar breeding is required to produce high quality Schisandra chinensis From this study, analyses of antioxidant component and antioxidant activity in collection can be used for new Schisandra chinensis breeding. Especially SC-22 can be superior lines with high antioxidant component and antioxidant activity.
Background:The purpose of improving the quality of oriental medicinal herbs is to contribute to the improvement of the income of farm. The present study investigated the effect of reasonable drying methods, different storage conditions and packageing materials on quality and stability of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi and for developing GAP (good agricultural practice) guide book.Methods and Results:Three methods of drying Scutellaria baicalensis roots produced over two years were used to estimate loss rate owing to drying, storage, and packaging. The methods of drying were categorized into natural drying (36 - 60 h by sunshine), drying with heat dryer (2 - 10 h), or drying with gas bulk dryer (2 - 10 h). After cleaning, and initial drying for a few days under controlled temperature conditions, the second phase of drying was carried out at 35, 45 and 55°C. Changes in hunter color values and quality under the two studied storage treatments (at 20°C indoors and at 4°C in a refigerator) were evaluated. Storage period for 60, 120, and 180 days in three packaging materials, PE (polyethylene package), PP (polypropylene gunnysack), and WP (watertight packing paper) were studied.Conclusions:Initial cleaning, reasonable gas drying and hot air drying, and drying in an oven at 35 and 45°C after cutting the roots resulted in the lowest loss rates in S. Baicalensis root. Hunter color valuse indicated that stroage of dry roots at room temperature was better than PP packaging, and that cold stroage was better than PE packaging for long-term stability.
Background : Invitro antioxidant activity, polyphenol and flavonoid aglycone contents in black and green tea products of balloon flower leaves were investigated to provide valuable information for the further development and utilization of resources of Platycodon grandiflorum. Methods and Results : Flavonoid aglycone contents were investigated using HPLC (SHIMADZU, Japan) with a hypersil ODS column (125 mm × 4 mm, 5-μm particle, HP). DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities were measured by method of Lee & Lee (2004) with slight modification. Antioxidant activity, polyphenol and flavonoid contents in green tea were significantly higher than these in black tea. PC analysis indicated that first principal components explained 79.9% of the total variability for five traits investigated. PC2 explained 19.7% of the variation. Conclusion : It can be concluded from these results that these characteristics can reveal the active compound variation of black and green tea products of balloon flower leaves. These results provide scientific evidence for the utilization of balloon flower leaves.
Background : Angelica dahurica Bentham et Hooker, Angelica gigas Nakai, Ostericum koreanum Maximowicz and Peucedanum japonicum Thumberg are a major medicinal plant in north Geungbuk province. Using medicinal plants are impotant it`s ingredient. Dry condition and stroage method are not standard manual. The ingredient variation of dry condition and stroage method were not researched. Methods and Results : Using plant material were cutivated on Gyongsangbukdo Bonghwa area. It were studied ingredient variation after dry and storage condition by HPLC methods. Major ingredient of Angelica gigas Nakai are decurusin, decurusinangelate. Heated air bulk dry get more decursin than natuarl dry and decurusinangelate of natural bulk dry was higher than heated air bulk dry. Major ingredient of Ostericum koreanum Maximowicz are imperatorin and isoimperatorin.. Imperatorin of Ostericum koreanum was highest peak on 50℃ heated-air dry after plastic bag sorage and isoimperatorin was highest peak on 40℃ heated-air dry after mountain cultivation. Imperatorin is a major ingredient Angelica dahurica Bentham et Hooker. Heated air bulk dry get more decursin and decursinangelate than natuarl dry and small heated-air dry. Peucedanol-7o_glucoside is a major ingredient Peucedanum japonicum Thumberg. Natural bulk dry get more peucedanol-7o_glucoside than heated-air bulk dry. Conclusion : Ingredient of Angelica dahurica Bentham et Hooker, Angelica gigas Nakai, Ostericum koreanum Maximowicz are different under various cutivation, drying method, storage. Diffent Ingedients of Angelica gigas Nakai, Ostericum koreanum Maximowicz were not accord it’s optical conditon.
Background : The purpose of this study was to big strong and root in the disease, many high quality seed of Achyranthes japonica N. selection by fostering, expanding the spread on a farm and raw materials medicines of sources deployment for process is to contribute to increasing farm income. Methods and Results : Collected variety into the mass selection breeding method by head-to-row cultivation, native variety of Hwasoon and Jangheung Jeonnam, was conducted in 2007. Three individual selection in 2010 as it produces the 27 and five individual in 2008 and 2009. From 2010 to 2011, pure line isolation as it cultivated and one foundation group. Promising in 2012, select one system. Replicated yield trial for two years beginning in 2013 a result of the stem length, multiple No. of branches and providing high -quality “No. 1, Jeollanam-do” majority by assigning system name. Naju-si, Yeongam-gun, local excellence by implementing a local adaptability test recognized in two years. To breed a new variety named as a dwelling “ Woogang” of Achyranthes japonica N. the review by fostering december 2015 to be registered. Conclusions : Leaf type is the broad lancet, flowering time is new variety two days than Jangheung native variety delayed. New variety of stem length and main root length are check variety (89㎝, 13.5㎝) of 9㎝ and 2㎝ tall respectively. Seed yields has native variety as much as 35 % compared to the many into 43.5 kg/10a. The ecdysteroids contents of roots was 1.2 times higher compared to check variety (668.1ppm). The dried root yields of the new variety are 285kg/10a a many native variety than 20%.
Background : The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the ridge and mulching cultivation and adapted sowing(planting)time in stable medicinal herbs production of Lithospermum erythrorhizon Siebold et Zuc. And it accomplished one’s purpose to GAP guide manual established standard method of cultivation technology, contribute to the enlargement of farm’s income. Methods and Results : Method of cultivation type with the ridge and covering material were conducted under two condition compose to open cultivation (level row : 120㎝ ridging, black polyethylene mulching) and plastic greenhouse cultivation (high row : 90㎝ ridging, non-woven fabric mulching). Sowing with Daehong varieties in April 17, transplanting July 25 by growing pot seedling for 40 days in 2015. Planting density were spaced 30㎝ apart in inter-rows 10 ㎝ apart intra-row. Fertilizing level of N-P-K-Compost (fermented mixed oil cake fertilizer) applied at 6-4-6-300 ㎏․10 a−1, 60% of basal fertilizer in March 14, 40% of top dressing were four times application in April 14 ~July 15. Plot design randomized block 3 repetition. Conclusions : Compared to level ridging on black polyethylene mulching open cultivation for growing plastic greenhouse with the high ridging non woven mulching cultivation, seed yields havesting 1.4 times, the dried roots yields increased in 0.7 times. Also, Growth characteristics by sowing time in April 16. compared to planting time in July 25. Length of stem and main root of above-ground, subterranean part growth increment rising highest. Seed and dried roots yields with increased by 71%, 30%. respectively.
Background : This study was development of moisture tolerance and high-yielding Rehmannia glutinosa cultivar. Methods and Results : Segang is developed by the medicinal crop breeding team of National Institute of Horticulture and Herbal Science(NIHHS), Rural Development Administration(RDA), during the period from 2005 to 2015. The reproduction of Rehmannia glutinosa has been accomplished mainly by vegetative propagation with its seedlings have many variants. The cultivar was selected from seedling of Jihwang 1(check variety). The plant type of Segang is some rising from ground. Regional yield trials conducted at three site from 2014 to 2015. The root yield of Segang was 21.1ton per hectare, which was increased 12% compared with Jihwang 1. Also, Segang has higher catalpol content and dried root ratio compared with Jihwang 1. Conclusion : Segang is a moisture tolerance and high-yielding Rehmannia glutinosa cultivar.
Background : Curcuma longa L., in the family Zingiberaceae, is distributed in tropical and/or sub-tropical regions mainly in India and China. This species is commonly called turmeric, powder is used as medicinal herbs and/or flavor enhancer. It has been cultivated in southern region mainly Jindo. However, it might be possible to extend cultivation regions due to rise in average temperature. In order to select superior lines based on agronomic characteristics, we analyzed multivariate and estimated selection effects from C. longa germplasm. Methods and Results : The C. longa germplasm were cultivated in an experimental field located in Eumseong, NIHHS, RDA. The harvested roots were investigated in agronomic characteristics included in yield and then considered its relationship among the 9 germplasm by multivariate analysis method. Results from principal component analysis (PCoA) showed that it represented 70.00% and 80.44% accumulated explanation from four and five principal compounds (PC). PCoA was conducted from 9 agronomic characteristics and then correlation coefficient has been showed by analysis between each main component value and agronomic characteristics. Value of the first PC was 2.25, 24.96% explanation of total dispersion, plant height, number of rootlet and weight of rootlet were correlated with a somewhat higher level as 0.41, 0.43 and 0.52. Value of the fifth PC was 0.94, 10.43% explanation of total dispersion, the number of shoots was correlated with a higher level as 0.87. Selection effects with outstanding candidate lines including higher lines were estimated at 126.13% in yield. Conclusion : These data on multivariate based on agronomic characteristics will be give us invaluable breeding information by selection of superior lines.

Methods and Results : method of weed elimination with covering material were conducted under four condition compose to Non covering(4~6 times by manual weed control), Barley straw cutting covered with 700㎏․10 a−1, Rice straw cutting covered with 500㎏․10 a−1, Rice husks covered with 1,000㎏․10 a−1. Fermented mixed oil cake compost applied at 380㎏․10 a−1, 60% of basal fertilizer in March 14, 40% of top dressing were four times application in April 14 ~July 15. Sowing dates were March 25, 2015. Plants were spaced 15 ㎝ apart in rows 15 ㎝ apart with open cultivation. Conclusions : Rice husks covering < Barley straw covering < Barley straw covering cultivation this order, aerial part as a result were plenty amount of growth. Weed the rates was 12 to 29% lower incidence. Green leaf yields is uncovering control plot (915 kg․10 a−1) compared to 2% from covering rice husks, barley straw and rice straw covering increased to 18%, 20%, respectively.

Methods and Results : method of application with organic fertilizer were conducted under nine condition compose to control(non application), N-P2O5-K2O (20-12-10)㎏․10 a−1, Hyphal incubation compost(HIC) applied at 851㎏․10 a−1, Hangawi organic compost(HOC) applied at 547㎏․10 a−1, Fermented mixed oil cake compost(FMOC) applied at 380㎏․10 a−1, 60% and 40% of basal fertilizer in March 12, top dressing were four application in April 12, May 12, June 13 and July 12, respectively. Sowing dates were March 23, 2015. Plants were spaced 15 ㎝ apart in rows 15 ㎝ apart with open cultivation. Conclusions : chemical fertilizers < hyphal incubation compost < hangawi organic compost < fermented mixed oil cake compost application, top dressing than 60% in order of 40% additional fertilizer, aerial part as a result were so many such amount of growth as number of leaf per plant, etc., Green leaf yields is untreated control plot (875 kg․10 a−1) compared to 12% from using chemical fertilizers, HIC application 18% higher, HOC application 20% higher, and FMOC application increased to 28% of the most.
Background : Management of air temperature are known to primarily affecting on physiological properties and yield in plant. Methods and Results : The effect of air temperature on characteristics of photosynthesis and chlorophyll fluorescence in Schisandra chinensis Baillon were investigated under controlled temperature using growth chamber. Net photosyntheis rate, transpiration was measured at 1,000 μmol m-2 s-1 of photon flux density and chlorophyll fluorescence was analyzed by OJIP method. Net photosyntheis rate and transpiration rate was higher in treatment of 25℃. As results of chlorophyll fluorescence by OJIP analysis, maximum quantum yield (Fv/Fm) of photosystem II (PSII) and PIabs was higher in treatment of 25℃ which reflects the relative reduction state of PSII. But in treatment of 35℃ the relative activities per reaction center such as ABS/RC, DIo/RC were higher than in treatment of 25℃ which implied that the relative reduction of electron transport at PSI and increasement of photo inhibition at reaction center. Conclusion : This result implies that 25℃ of air temperature may be a adequate temperature to improving the efficiency of photosynthesis through controlling a photosystem in Schisandra chinensis Baillon.
