        Objective : The purpose of this study is to conduct parent education about autism spectrum disorders with sensory modulation disorder and coping skills for parents to nurture. After parental education participation to verify the effects of parenting stress and parenting efficacy.Methods : The study subjects were conducted with mothers Gwangju and Jeonju 20 people twice a week to target a total of seven sessions of four weeks. Research tools to measure the effectiveness of parent education parenting stress (Korean-Parenting Stress Index; K-PSI) and parenting efficacy (Parenting Sense of Competence; PSOC) was used for tests. Data analysis was performed using SPSS Version 18.0.Results : After a parent education parenting stress was statistically significantly decreased in all categories (p<.001). Influence on the child area has shown that most parenting stress the ‘reinforce parent’ impact on the parent area parenting stress is ‘attachment’ appeared to be the largest of its kind. Parenting Efficacy was also statistically significantly improved in all categories (p<.001).Conclusion : In this study, conducted by a parent education program have reduced parenting stress of mothers to nurture and was confirmed to be effective in promoting parenting efficacy.

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of dietary education on improving preferences to Korean traditional foods in upper grades schoolchildren. The education group consisted of 184 children (4th=65, 5th=50, 6th=69), while the control group consisted of 135 children (4th=40, 5th=55, 6th=40). Each group was selected from a different school in Changwon. In the education group, 12 lessons were implemented using educational materials based on sensory education. For the evaluation, pre- and post-surveys were performed in each group using self-administered questionnaire surveys. Variables in the questionnaire consisted of self-efficacy, subjective norms, cognitive attitude, food neophobia scale, eating frequency, preference, intake experience, and nutrition knowledge. After education, the knowledge score improved significantly in both groups. However, self-efficacy (p<0.01), subjective norms (p<0.01), cognitive attitude (p<0.001) and food neophobia scale (p<0.001) changed significantly in only the education group. The intake frequency of Korean traditional foods did not significantly increase in either group. However, the preferences and intake experience of the foods, which were offered in class and school meals, changed significant in only the education group. In conclusion, dietary education based on sensory education may be useful for developing a positive eating attitude for Korean traditional foods in children.

        Baduk, a classical game in the Orient, came to be recognized as a part of wholesome entertainment culture in modern society. Also, it has been used as an educational tool for the infant since some researches showed that Baduk is effective in cognitive development, emotional stability, and all-round education. Currently, a wide range of children participate in Baduk education at about 300 Baduk academies and around 1,600 after-school Baduk classes. However, the infant are difficult to learn Baduk because of difficult jargon and complicated technique embedded in Baduk. To respond to this challenge, this study aims to develop ‘educational Baduk play program’ which comprises elements of interest and fun as well as education.

        This study was conducted to investigate the effects of 10-week dietary education on elementary students in an after-school program in Seoul. Participants were 20 1-2 grade students and 283-6 grade students, and the dietary program consisted of dietary education and activities focused on children’s levels of understanding. The results were as follows: Total participant’s food habit scores and nutrition knowledge significantly increased (p<0.05) after dietary education. Food habit and nutrition knowledge scores of lower grade participants (grade) increased desirably (p<0.05). Meanwhile higher grade participants’ (grade) food habit scores also changed (p<0.05), but their nutrition knowledge scores were changed. Boy’s food habit scores significantly changed (p<0.05), whereas girl’s food habit scores did not change significantly. Further, female participants’ nutrition knowledge scores did not changesignificantly after education. Participants’ obesity knowledge scores significantly changed after the education (p<0.05), but their attitudes on obesity increased insignificantly. Lower grade participants’ attitudes on obesity significantly and desirably changed (p<0.05), whereas higher grade participants’ attitudes on obesity changed insignificantly. Girl’s knowledge and attitudes on obesity significantly and desirably changed (p<0.05-0.01). This study revealed the correlation between food habit scores and attitudes on obesity (p<0.01), demonstrating that participants with high food habit scores have advisable attitudes on obesity. The result of this study shows that lower grade participants’ food habit scores, nutrition knowledge, and attitudes on obesity changed desirably after dietary education. Therefore, this study promote the development of adequate nutrition education and materials focused on lower grade students and the need for systematic and continuous dietary education programs based on elementary school.

        茶山 丁若鏞(1762~1836)이 살았던 19세기 초 조선후기 사회는 깊게 병들어 있었다. 이 시기에 다산은 경상도 장기와 전라도 강진에서 18년 동안 유배되어 있 었다. 그러나 그는 세상을 구제하고 백성을 살려 낼 방안을 찾기 위해 힘을 다하 였다. 특히 다산은 당시 사회에 만연된 잘못된 학문풍토와 아동교육의 문제점을 개선하고자 하였고, 그것을 통해 대중의 의식을 개조하고 참된 인재를 양성하고자 하였다. 본고는 다산의 아동교육 개선에 대해 총체적으로 고찰하는 것을 목표로 삼았다. 먼저 다산의 아동교육 개선의 발단과 전개과정에 대해 논의한 다음, 개선의 이유 와 목표에 대해 조명하였다. 이어서 조선후기 아동교육의 문제점에 대한 다산의 비판과 다산 아동교육방법론의 특징에 대해 논의하였다. 특히 다산 아동교육방법론의 특징에 대해서는 다산의 아동교육 관련 저술을 인 성교육․문자교육․지식확충․언어교육의 네 분야로 나누고 각 분야의 특징을 찾 아 다산의 아동교육방법론의 특징을 설명하였다. 즉 인성교육 분야에서는 ‘文心을 키워주고 慧竇를 열어주는 교육방법’을, 문자교육 분야에서는 ‘觸類旁通의 교육방 법과 字書를 통한 개별 字義 교육방법’을 지식확충 분야에서는 ‘一以貫之를 위한 一以串之식 교육방법’을, 언어교육 분야에서는 ‘改非矯俗식 교육방법’을 특징으로 잡았다. 그리고 맺음말에서는 다산의 아동교육 개선의 의의에 대해 언급하였다.

        This study was designed to measure taste sensitivity and the five basic senses by an educational classification instrument. The instrument was a rice kit that could use samples in a dry powder form or oil extract after long-term storage To test for taste, sucrose, salt, citric acid, and quinine sulfate were made at different concentrations and taste sensitivity was measured on a scale from level 1 to level 5. To obtain baseline data, an inspection tool for the five senses was used and randomly applied on 101 schoolchildren in the third and fourth grade in the city of Cheonan in Korea. The inspection tool was composed of 17 questions; 5 questions regarding visual characteristics and three questions each for characteristics regarding taste, hearing, smell, and touch. The average age of the schoolchildren was 9.5 years old and there were 49 third grade students (9 years of age), and 52 fourth grade students (ten years of age). There were slightly more male students than female students, 56 (55.4%) compared to 45 (44.6%), respectively. The average height of female students was higher than that of males, but the average BMI (body mass index) of the male students was slightly higher than that of female students (18.28 compared to 18.09, respectively). Female students were slightly more sensitive to salty tastes than male students (2.8 compared to 2.5, respectively). In the score distribution for each sense, touch sense was the highest at 7.59, sight sense was 7.49, hearing sense was 5.43, smell sense was 5.24, and taste sense was lowest at 3.69. Therefore, schoolchildren first tend to recognize and deem important the touch and sight of food before its taste.

        목적 : PEO모델을 이용하여 통합교육환경에서 지적장애아동의 학교활동참여를 분석하였다. 연구방법 : 경기도 여주군내 초등학교에서 지적장애아동 7명, 담임교사 7명, 양육자 7명, 총 21명을 대상으로 2011년 11월 9일부터 11월 18일까지 실시하였다. 학교기능검사를 통한 양적 연구와 관찰, 면담을 통한 질적 연구방법을 혼합하여 사용하였다. 지적장애아동의 참여가 어려운 활동을 조사하고 아동, 학교환경, 과제로 나누어 분석하였다. 결과 : 교실활동, 운동장(체육시간), 등교 시 낮은 참여정도를 보였고, 교실 내 이동, 화장실 사용, 급식시간에는 상대적으로 높은 참여도를 보였다. 아동의 낮은 행동적, 인지적 수행능력을 보조해 줄 수 있는 보조도구는 일반교실에서는 사용이 제한되었다. 결론 : 일상적인 자조기술을 요하는 활동은 높은 참여율을 보인반면, 일반아동들과 집단을 이루어 활동을 하거나, 수정된 교육 과제가 요구되는 활동에는 참여가 낮았다. 따라서 지적장애아동의 학교활동참여를 증진시키기 위하여 체계적인 아동-환경-과제의 상호작용의 이해 및 전문적인 접근이 필요하다.

        Atopic related skin symptoms must be controlled continually. Because it is involved with food, eating behaviors play an important role in the prevention and management of atopic dermatitis. The aim of this study was to develop and apply nutrition education program for the prevention and management of atopic dermatitis on elementary school students. After applying the nutrition education program, our research attempts to evaluate the effectiveness of such nutrition education program. This study examined the effects of a nutrition education program on atopic dermatitis-related snacking behaviors, eating attitudes, and food behaviors. Subjects were 3rd grade elementary school students in Daejeon. A 6-week nutrition education program was implemented to 97 children as the educated group and another 94 children were included in the study as the control group. A self-administered questionnaire was used to assess the effects of nutrition education program. As results, eating attitudes reached significant improvement by the nutrition education program(p<0.05). In a paired t-test, the control group did not show significant difference, but the educated group showed a significant difference. In snacking behaviors, the two groups did not show statistical difference except for some considering factors. Also, there were no significant differences of the two groups after nutrition education program, except the snacking place after the nutrition education group. However, in the educated group, the types of snacks made by mothers increased 17.5% from 40.2% to 57.7%, and in-house as snacking place increased 13.4% from 68% to 81.4%. In the results of before and after the nutrition education program, the program showed some effect on the prevention and management of atopic dermatitis. Therefore, these results showed foundation for nutritional education and various educational programs are needed afterward to increase the effect of nutrition education in the prevention and management policy related to atopic dermatitis.

        The purpose of this research was to provide basic educational data on the proper eating habits of children who use the community children center. The results of the research conducted by polling the fourth, fifth, and sixth-grade children of the community children centers are summarized as follows. Male children had more meals and ate them faster than those of female children, and they also tended to watch more TV and read books. Moreover, children of families headed by fathers ate until they were full, whereas children of households headed by mothers ate less. More female than male children skipped breakfast, and the percentage of children who had their meals alone was high among children reared by their grandfathers. Most of the children ate only what they liked. Moreover, male children ate only particular fruits and vegetables, whereas female children ate only beans and miscellaneous cereals. Most of the children recognized that they had eating problems, such as eating only what they liked and eating meals on irregular schedules. Such eating habits were affected mainly by family members such as parents, brothers, and sisters. Female children scored higher than male children in terms of nutrition and hygiene knowledge. Approximately 40~50.3% of all subjects became interested in nutrition and hygiene education at the community children center. Most of the children recognized that nutrition and hygiene education is necessary at the community children center. They also recognized their own eating problems and wanted nutrition and hygiene education to be taught at the community children center. Accordingly, regular educational activities and meals for children in the community children center considered a children`s particular home background to improve eating habits in the children.

        This study was conducted to investigate the change in the anthropometric values, biochemical index, nutritional knowledge, food habits and nutrient intakes in obese children after a weight control program. The subjects of the study were 22 obese children with an obesity index over 120%. The children that participated in this study took nutritional education for weight control along with exercise once a week. The weight control program was conducted for 10 weeks. The BMI, WHR (Waist-Hip ratio), body fat (%) significantly decreased at the end of the weight control program. Total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol were also significantly decreased. The nutritional knowledge scores and knowledge score about obesity were slightly improved. Energy intake significantly decreased from 1768 to 1421 kcal. Intake of Ca, Na, K, vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin C and folate increased, while intakes of P, Zn, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin E and niacin decreased. The distribution of energy intake was significantly changed for the better. The percent fat consumed decreased from 26.5 to 19.7%. In addition, the distribution of energy intake in the meals was changed, where the percent calories consumed during lunch significantly increased from 31.4 to 40.1% and the calorie percentage consumed from snacks significantly decreased from 17.6 to 10.7%. In conclusion, the nutritional education in the weight control program, which was conducted for 10 weeks, was effective in improving the anthropometric values, biochemical index and nutrient intake although nutrition knowledge and eating behaviors only changed slightly. Thus, nutritional weight control programs for obese children should be continuously provided under the proper cooperation of a nutritional teacher at elementary schools.

        This paper examines four genre paintings on the subject of child education by Jean-Baptiste-Siméon Chardin(1699-1779). The Governess, The Diligent Mother, Saying Grace, and The Morning Toilette garnered critical attention after they were exhibited in the Salon from 1739 to 1741. After the exhibition, the paintings were made into prints and frequently sold to members of the bourgeois class in Paris. The iconographical details of Chardin’s genre paintings have, thus far, been compared to Dutch genre pictures of the seventeenth century. Further, most studies conducted on Chardin’s paintings focus on formal analysis rather than the historical and social contexts. Through attempting social-contextual readings of Chardin’s educational series, this paper argues that the significance of Chardin’s painting series of child education lies in his representation of the ideal French bourgeois family and the standard of early childhood education in the eighteenth-century French Enlightenment period. In each of the four child education paintings, Chardin depicted a mother with children in a domestic space. Even though this theme derives from traditional Dutch genre paintings in the seventeenth century, the visual motifs, the pictorial atmosphere and the painting techniques of Chardin all project the social culture of eighteenth century France. Each painting in the child education series exemplifies respectively the attire of a French gentlemen, the social view on womanhood and the education of girls, newly established table manners, and the dressing up culture in a ‘toilette’ in eighteenth century France. Distinct from other educational scenes in previous genre paintings, Chardin accentuated the naive and innocent characteristics of a child and exemplified the mother’s warmth toward that child in her tender facial expressions and gesturing. These kinds of expressions illustrate the newly structured standard of education in the French Enlightenment period. Whereas medieval people viewed children as immature and useless, people in the eighteenth century began to recognize children for their more positive features. They compared children to a blank piece of paper (tabula rasa), which signified children’s innocence, and suggested that children possess neither good nor bad virtues. This positive perspective on children slowly transformed the pedagogical methods. Teaching manuals instructed governesses and mothers to respect each child’s personality rather than be strict and harsh to them. Children were also allotted more playtimes, which explains the display of various toys in the backgrounds of Chardin’s series of four paintings. Concurrently, the interior, where this exemplary education was executed, alludes to the virtue of the bourgeois’s moderate and thrifty daily life in eighteenth century France. While other contemporary painters preferred to depict the extravagant living space of a French bourgeoisie, Chardin portrayed a rather modest and cozy home interior. In contrast to the highly decorated living space of aristocrats, he presented the realistic, humble domestic space of a bourgeois, filled with modern household objects. In addition, the mother is exceptionally clad in working clothes instead of fashionable dresses of the moment. Fit to take care of household affairs and children, the mother represents the ideal virtues of a bourgeois family. It can be concluded that the four genre paintings of child education by Chardin articulate the new standards of juvenile education in eighteenth century France as well as the highly recognized social virtues between French bourgeois families. Thus, Chardin's series of child education would have functioned as a demonstration of the ideal living standards of the bourgeois class and their emphasis on early childhood education in the French Enlightenment period.

        This study recommends using children's literature in teacher training programs with the purpose of developing integrated language skills for primary school teachers and teaching methods for their students. First, to accomplish bifold objectives, the study develops three modules: 1) intensive listening through story books, 2) using in class dialogues through role-playing and 3) developing classroom activities. For presenting the examples of the three modules, Junie B., First Grader (at last!), Freckle Juice, and Jake Drake: Teacher's Pet are used. Next, the study presents teachers' perceptions on both using literature for improving their English skills and using literature in their teaching elementary school children. To investigate the possibility of implementing the program, the researcher surveyed 53 teachers participating in the program. The survey results showed teachers' perceptions on children's literature changed in positive ways, and they recognized that children's literature could develop their own English language skills and then would be a good teaching resource for their students. Based on the results, some suggestions were provided for the teachers, educators, and program developers.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of cooking activities on the unbalanced dietary food habits of elementary school students and develop the effective cooking activity program for the improvement of unbalanced dietary behaviors as well as the food intake and menu acceptance. The subjects of this study were 256 elementary school students. The cooking activity group and control group were consisted of 128 students of 3rd & 5th grader each. Both cooking activity and the control group took the same 1-hour nutritional theory based class for 10 sessions. Only Cooking activity (CA) group took additional 10 sessions of 1-hour cooking class. Programs for cooking activity were developed and 10 cooking activity sessions were taken place for 4 months. The questionnairs were used to evaluate the effect of the cooking activities over the intake of food group, unbalanced dietary behavior, eating attitudes, menu acceptance before and after the completion of all the cooking activities. Cooking activities affect the unbalanced dietary behaviors and the intake of food groups. Fish, cereals, milk products, fruits, potatoes, vegetables were more eaten by CA group than control group. Eating attitudes and unbalanced dietary behaviors of CA group are also improved significantly than control group. From these results, it was concluded that cooking activities had the positive effect on the improvement of unbalanced dietary food habits over vegetables, cereals, fish, milk product and fruits as well as the unbalanced dietary behaviors of the elementary school children.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual conditions, satisfaction towards, and effects of children's cooking activity programs held at children's cooking schools, which have recently been gaining interest as an effective integrated educational method. Also, based on the results, the study provides information on good teaching-learning methods, which can be applied to kindergarten and elementary schools. The results of the evaluation showed that 84.1% of the respondents were satisfied with the educational aspects of the programs. People were most satisfied with the teachers' "teaching ability", and were least satisfied with "the educational fees". The satisfaction scores for the children's cooking programs were higher when they were performed in a school class environment as compared to a cultural center environment, and children who had participated for more than 12 months were more satisfied than those who had only participated 1 to 3 months. Quantitatively, of the 24 measured evaluation categories grouped into 6 fields that measured the effects of participation in the cooking programs, the greatest effects were found on the children's self-confidence and sense of achievement in the social emotion field, and the lowest effect was found on their writing ability in the language field. In addition, scores were higher when the cooking activities were performed in a private cooking school environment as compared to a cultural center environment. Scores were also higher when the educational program lasted 7 to 9 months as compared to only 1 to 3 months.

        목적 : 본 연구는 초등학교에 재학중인 7~11세 자폐성 장애 아동 3명을 대상으로 구조화접근을 통한 부모교육이 아동의 문제행동 및 언어발달에 미치는 효과를 살펴보기 위하여 실시되었다. 연구방법 : 대상아동은 떼쓰기, 자해행동, 반향어 등을 보이는 전형적인 자폐성 장애 아동으로서 실험설계는 대상자간 복식기초선 설계(multiful-baseline across subjects)에 의하여 이루어졌다. 제공된 프로그램으로는 음악, 미술, 여가용 자료 사용 등의 가정에서 쉽게 사용할 수 있는 활동이 고안되었다. 종속변인은 문제행동 및 어휘 사용 빈도였다. 결과 : 문제행동의 경우 대상 아동 1은 기초선 평균 15.3회가 중재에서 12.5회로 감소되었고 15.5회로 유지되었다. 아동 2의 경우 기초선 평균 6.3회가 중재 평균 7.1회를 보였으며 유지 기간에는 6.5회로 나타났다. 아동 3의 경우 기초선 6.6회, 중재 7회, 유지기간에는 7.3회를 보였다. 언어발달에서의 결과로 아동 1의 경우 기초선 평균 26회였던 어휘수가 중재에는 40.5회로 증가하였으며 유지기간에는 44.3회로 나타났다. 아동 2의 경우 기초선 기간 동안 34회의 어휘수가 중재 기간 에는 17회로 나타났으며 유지기간에는 10.2회로 나타났다. 아동 3의 경우 기초선 34회, 중재기간 50.6회, 유지기간에는 81.5회로 높게 나타났다. 따라서 대상 아동 들은 문제행동상의 감소는 적게 나타났으나 언어발달에는 매우 높은 중재효과를 보였으며 유지 또한 높게 나타났음을 알 수 있었다. 결론 : 본 실험을 통하여 구조화접근을 통한 부모교육은 아동의 중재에 효과적임을 알 수 있었다.

        목적 : 장애아동 부모들의 치료교육에 관한 욕구 조사를 통하여 현재 치료교육의 문제점을 알아보고 작업치료계 입장에서의 개선방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 전국의 장애아동 부모들을 대상으로 설문지를 배부하여 402부를 회수하였고 SPSS를 이용하여 기술통계 분석을 하였다. 본 연구에 사용한 측정도구는 연구자가 개발한 설문지로 내용 타당도를 확보하기 위해서 여러 전문가들에게 점검받아 수정하였다. 결과 : 부모들이 가장 원하는 치료교사로는 전문 치료 영역을 가지고 있는 치료사이며 77%의 부모들이 택하였다. 한 학교에서 치료교육을 받는 경우는 27%이며 사설기관에서 재활치료를 받고 있는 아동이 55%이고 두 곳 모두에서 치료교육 및 치료를 받는 아동이 65%였다. 이로 인한 사치료비는 가구당 월 평균 49만원 정도였다. 사설치료를 받는 부모들의 79%가 치료교육의 질적인 문제를 지적하였다. 결론 : 치료교육의 주체인 장애아동과 부모들이 요구하는 부모들이 요구하는 치료교육의 현실화를 위해서는 세부 전문영역을 가지는 치료교사를 양성하여야 한다. 또한 전문 영역의 치료사를 관련지원서비스를 제공하는 전문가로 활용하여야 할 것이다. 이로 인해 치료교육의 질적, 양적 향상을 도모하여야 한다.

        평균 연령 10.8세인 비만 아동 17명을 대상으로 12주간 영양교육을 중심으로 한 체중조절 프로그램을 실시한 결과 비만도와 BMI에서는 유의적인 변화를 보이지 않았으나 허리둘레 및 엉덩이 둘레가 유의적으로 감소하였고, HDL-콜레스테롤이 유의적으로 증가하였다. 지방 조직 분비 호르몬-resistin, adiponectin, leptin의 수준은 체중조절 프로그램 실시전과 후에 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. Resistin과 leptin의 변화량은 BMI 변화량과 양의 관계를, adiponect의 변화량은 음의 관계를 나타내 체위와의 상관성을 보여주었으나 본 연구만으로 이들 호르몬들과 체위변화와의 상관성을 규명하기에는 부족했다. 또한 체중조절 프로그램 후 열량 외에 무기질과 비타민 등 대부분의 영양소 섭취가 감소하여 체중조절 프로그램을 진행할 때 열량섭취는 줄이면서 미량 영양소의 섭취는 유지할 수 있게 올바른 식품을 선택할 수 있도록 하는 교육이 강화되어야 할 것이다. 본 연구는 비교적 단기간의 체중조절프로그램의 효과를 살펴본 것으로서, 본 연구결과를 토대로 앞으로 영양교육의 내용을 수정하고, 체조성 변화에 대한 연구를 강화하며 좀 더 장기적인 체중조절 프로그램을 수행한다면 아동 비만 치료에 더 좋은 효과를 낼 수 있을 것이라 사료된다. 또한 비만과 체지방분비호르몬의 상관성에 대한 후속연구도 필요한 것으로 본다.
