        The Sasa quelpaertensis Nakai is a white band on the edge of the leaf, the branch is not split, the stem is small, and the shape of the node is different from that of the inland bamboo (Sasa borealis Makino). It is known as a plant that is highly likely to be used as a resource plant. Various efficacy studies such as antioxidant, anti-obesity, antibacterial and antidiabetic activities have been conducted and developed as functional cosmetics and beverage products. Unfortunately there is little research on the suitability of the product. In order to use S. quelpaertensis as a raw material for food or health functional food, S. quelpaertensis leaves were collected monthly for one year to prepared 70% ethanol extract(SQEP) and water extract(SQWP). After, the content of index component(p-coumaric acid) in SQEP and SQWP was analyzed by HPLC. For the study of the processing properties, the SQWP was prepared considering the content of the index component and extraction yield(%). Also, the stability of index component according to pH(2.5, 4.0, 6.0, 8.0, 10.0) condition and stability of index component according to temperature condition(25℃, 35℃, 40℃) were studied. Through this process ability(properties) study, we suggest that the SQWP may be used as a product material of health functional foods.

        The purpose of this study is to examine the sociocultural meanings of flapper look in American society during the 1920s. Using the ProQuest database, I searched articles from The New York Times published between 1920 and 1929 for opinions and discussions on the flapper look. Keywords included “clothing,” “dress,” “fashion,” and “flapper,” and advertisements and articles on menswear, leisurewear, and bathing suits were excluded. In the resulting articles, I extracted the following sociocultural meanings: autonomy, activeness, practicality, attractiveness, and extravagance. Meanings were analyzed from the opinions and discussions focusing on skirt length, dresses that directly and indirectly exposed the body, heavy make-up, non-constricting underwear, the H-line dress, bobbed hair, hygiene, comfort, and consumption. In sum, the 1920s flapper look represented progressive characteristics such as autonomous and active womanhood and practicality, which matched the technological development of the time. However, the flapper look was commercialized and exploited to make women look attractive and extravagant. Even though American women had access to higher education, more economic power, and suffrage in the 1920s, they were limited in their ability to overcome social conventions and the power of consumerism. Understanding the double-sidedness of flapper look within the social context of the time would enhance the comprehension of the relationship between women’s lifestyles and changing fashion.

        본 연구는 구운 횟수에 따른 죽염의 미네랄 농도변화와 항우식 효과를 확인하기 위하여 수행하였다. 미네랄 변화는 9회 죽염에서 Na, K, Mn 그리고 Fe이 높게 나타났으며, Mg, Ca 및 SO4는 1회 죽염에 서 가장 높았다. 구강 병원균 2종에 대한 최소억제농도 측정 결과 S. mutans에 대한 죽염의 MIC는 25mg/mL으로 나타났으나 S. sanguinis에 대한 죽염의 MIC는 50mg/mL로 S. mutans에 대한 항균효 과가 S. sanguinis보다 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 2종의 균주 모두에 대해 천일염보다는 죽염의 항균효 과가 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 더욱이, 3%의 죽염에서 구강 내 pH 환경이 pH≥5.5로 오래 지속되는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 본 연구 결과는 죽염이 치아우식과 치주질환을 감소시키는데 유용할 것이라 생각될 수 있겠으나 보다 세밀한 추가 연구가 진행되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

        목 적 : Comfilcon A 실리콘 하이드로겔렌즈의 착용시간에 따른 시력의 질과 눈의 자각적 증상을 비교하 였다. 방 법 : 최대 교정시력을 제공하는 도수의 실리콘 하이드로겔렌즈를 건강한 성인 27명 (평균24.30±2.96 세, 여: 14명, 남: 13명)의 대상자에게 착용시키고 밝은 조명(photopic)과 어두운(mesopic) 조명 상태에서 고대비도(100%)와 저대비도(10%) 시력표를 사용한 시력검사와 4종류의 공간주파수에서 대비감도검사를 시행하였다. 또한, 수차분석기를 이용하여 4 mm와 6 mm 동공크기에서 각막의 고위수차를 각각 측정하고, 렌즈착용 대상자는 콘택트렌즈와 관련된 자각적 증상에 대한 설문지를 작성하도록 하였다. 모든 측정과 설 문지 작성은 하루 동안 실리콘 하이드로겔렌즈를 착용하면서 2 시간과 9시간 착용 후 각각 수행되었다. 결 과 : 밝은 조명과 어두운 조명 상태에서 검사한 고대비시력과 저대비시력 및 대비감도는 렌즈착용 2시 간과 9시간 후 유의한 차이가 없었다. 3차 고위수차, 4차 고위수차, 코마 및 구면수차를 포함하는 각막의 고 위수차량 또한 렌즈착용 2시간과 9시간 후 대상자의 동공의 크기에 상관없이 차이가 없었다. 그러나 콘택트 렌즈 착용과 관련된 자각적 증상의 상대적 발생빈도 항목 중, 불편함(discomfort), 건조감(dryness) 및 눈 감음(closing eyes)의 증상은 렌즈착용 2시간과 9시간 후 비교에서 유의한 차이가 있었다(p=0.031, p=0.001, p=0.031). 결 론 : Comfilcon A 실리콘 하이드로겔렌즈를 9시간 착용한 결과 시력과 대비감도 및 각막의 고위수차 는 착용시간에 따라 변화가 없었으나 건조감과 불편한 자각적 증상은 착용시간이 길어지면서 증가하므로 이 러한 증상을 감소시킬 관리법의 지도가 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

        조선조의 불교의례는 어렵고 힘든 시기를 견디어야 했던 불교계의 현실과 조선의 치국이념인 유교에서 얻지 못하는 내세관이 반영될 수밖에 없었다. 그렇게 형성된 불교의례는 현세 구복적이며 주술적인 성격이 강하였다. 개항 이후 불교에 대한 인식이 달라지고 한국불교의 모순을 타파하고 새 로운 이념을 제시한 개혁가들은 이런 의례에 대해 비판하기 시작하였다. 비 판과 함께 근대 불교의례의 방향으로 대중들이 쉽게 읽을 수 있고 이해할 수 있는 한글화와 대중화가 제시되었다. 이와 같은 한국불교의 자체적인 변화에도 불구하고 한국을 병합한 일제 는 사법을 제정하여 한국불교 의례를 크게 변질시키면서 통제정책에 활용 하였다. 그런 분위기를 인식한 한국불교인들은 1910년대 한국불교 의례 회복을 논의하였지만 실행되기 어려웠고, 1930년대 이르러 일제강점에 의해 훼손된 불교의례를 재정립하기 위한 노력이 대두되었다. 뜻있는 선지식들은 지난날 비판하고 버려두었던 불교의례 속에서 우리의 전통을 찾으려 하였다. 그런 배경에서 1931년 발간된 불자필람과 1935년 대중들을 위해 약본으로 발 간한 석문의범이다. 그런 의식에서 형성된 전통의례의 출판은 한국 불교 인의 많은 관심과 활용으로 이어졌다. 그러나 일제는 전시 체제에 맞도록 한국 1,500여 사찰에서 대동아전쟁의 연전연승을 위한 기도법회를 열어 절대적인 친일과 동원을 강요하면서 변질 된 의례를 지속시켰다. 이렇게 변질된 한국불교 의례는 광복 후에 회복될 수 있었다. 새로운 집 행부가 설립된 후 모범총림을 시설하여 옛날부터 전해지는 한국불교 범음전 통을 회복하였고, 성철과 청담의 주도하에 설립된 봉암사 결사운동에서 비 불교적인 요소들을 제거함으로써 현대 불교의례의 방향성이 제시되었다.

        This research analyzedconsumer culture and usage of sugar in modern times based on 12 modern popular Korean cooking books with sugar recipes. Procedures were formed via textual analysis. The outcomes of the study can be summarized in brief statements. According to「Banchandeungsok」,「Booinpilj」, and「Chosunmoossangsinsikyorijebeob」, sugar was utilized in 34 out of 663 or 5.1% of cooked foods during the 1910s to 1920s. According to books such as 「Ganpyounchosunyorijebeob」,「Ililhwalyongsinyoungyangyoribeob」,「Chosun’s cooking of the four seasons」,「Halpaengyoungoo」, 「Chosunyorijebeob」, and 「Required reading for housewife」, sugar was added to 165 out of 998 or 16.5% of cooked foods during the 1930s. According to the books like「Chosunyorihak」,「Chosunyoribeob」, and「Woorieumsik」, sugar was an ingredient in 241 out of 756 or 31.9% of cooked foods during the 1940s. Sugar depicted within the 12 modern popular Korean cooking books primarily functioned as an alternative sweetener, starch, sweet enhancer, preservative, and seasoning. Similar to illustrated sugar from modern popular Korean cooking books, sugar has continually been favored by Korean cooks starting from the 1910s with 5.1% usage, the 1930s with 16.5% usage, and the 1940s with 31.9% usage. Despite its short history, sugar’s culinary importance in Korea has been on the rise ever since the early 1900s. Although sugar is an exotic spice in Korea, it has gained social, cultural, and symbolic recognition as well as practicality within Korean food culture. Thus, it has become more internalized and familiarized as an inseparable sweetness that characterizes current Korean food.

        This experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of harvesting time of Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam; IRG) in spring on dry matter (DM) yield. IRG cultivars ‘Kowinearly’ and ‘Greenfarm’ were seeded at 50 kg/ha and grown on rice paddy fields. There was no difference in growth characteristics between both varieties before winter. However, cold tolerance of Kowinearly was higher than that of Greenfarm, as demonstrated by post-wintering growth characteristics. The heading date of both varieties was affected by the spring weather. The IRG was harvested three times at 5-day intervals beginning from 9 May. The DM yield of Greenfarm was 6,306; 7,335; and 8,109 kg/ha, and that of Kowinearly was 7,498; 9,196; and 10,449 kg/ha at the three consecutive harvests. The delay of the harvesting time for 5 and 10 days increased the DM yield of Greenfarm by 16% and 29% and that of Kowinearly by 23% and 39%, respectively, compared to the yield at first harvest (p < 0.05). Therefore, IRG harvest later than early to mid-May is expected to increase productivity. The feed values of Greenfarm were: 12.2% of crude protein (CP), 34.5% of acid detergent fiber (ADF), 57.7% of neutral detergent fiber (NDF), 61.6% of total digestible nutrients (TDN), and 72.3% of in vitro DM digestibility (IVDMD). For Kowinearly, these values were 16.4% of CP, 30.4% of ADF, 52.7% of NDF, 64.9% of TDN and 79.0% of IVDMD.

        This study evaluated the effect 3 types of conditioning (Untreated, Impeller, Roller) and the number of times for tedding (rake-teder) performed in one day on the drying rate of tall fescure hay. The experiment was performed at The forage site of Cheonan-si seongwhan-eup National Institute of Animal Sciencee. It took 3 days to make tall fescue hay. The Impeller and Roller conditioning types shortened the haymaking period by 1 day compared to untreated hay. Impeller and roller samples had less than 20% of water content by the 23rd-day at 13 o’clock. Tedding frequency failed to affect haymaking. There was no correlation between the three types of conditioning or tedding frequency and acid digestible fiber (ADF), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), total digestible nutrients (TDF), crude protein (CP), or relative feed value (RFV) in tall fescue hay. CP was 12.5~12.9% for the three types of conditioner with 1 or 2 times of tedding a day, Threrfore, conditioner types and gedding frequency had no significant effect on CP.

        The study aimed to evaluate the damage persistence during subsequent years in kiwifruit vines defoliated by strong wind such as typhoons. Artificial defoliation was treated on five-year-old ‘Jecy Gold’ kiwifruit vines grown in a plastic house in year 2013 and 2014 by applying four levels of defoliation, i.e., 0, 50, 75, and 100% in August 23, 2013 and 100% defoliation in July 28 and August 29, 2014, respectively. Return bloom and fruit quality were investigated in the following two years, 2014 and 2015. A significant reduction in number of flowers per shoot in the following year, 2014 was recorded for the vines with 50%, 75%, and 100% defoliations treated in 2013 compared to the control vines. The number of flowers per florescence was significantly reduced for defoliated vines. Nevertheless, the fruit quality parameters, i.e., fruit length, width, weight, firmness, TSS, acidity, and dry matter content were not significantly different for the defoliated vines compared to the control vines. The vines defoliated in 2013 at 75% and 100% levels showed a significant reduction of number of flower per inflorescence in 2015 compared to the 0% defoliation. However, the number of flowers per shoot and fruit quality were not significantly different. Also, the number of flowers per inflorescence in 2015 was significantly reduced by July 28, 2014 or August 29, 2014 defoliation compared to non-defoliated vines while the number of flowers per shoot, and fruit quality in 2015 were not significantly different between treatments and control vines. Accordance with the present findings, the flowering is considerably affected by the shortage of carbohydrate supply than the fruit quality of ‘Jecy Gold’ kiwifruit. In addition, the negative impacts of severe defoliation in flowering of ‘Jecy Gold’ kiwifruit might be persisted more than one season from the time of defoliation and consequently, the total yield might be reduced in the following seasons after defoliation.

        This study investigated the characteristics of cotton production of Damyang-gun & Hwasun-gun, Yeongsan River compared with that of Gurye-gun, Seomjingang River in modern times. To do this, research method was both literature and fieldwork research, results were as follows. First, as for cotton fiber cultivation in Damyang-gun & Hwasun-gun, Chinese cotton (在來綿) has been cultivated during Japanese Colonial era unlike Gurye-gun. Especially, Yellow cotton (黃綿) has been cultivated in Hwasungun. Second, as for spinning in Damyang-gun, Hwasun-gun and Gurye-gun, some of cotton spinning process have been gradually changed to mechanization by market shop equipped with mechanized cotton gin and cotton whipping tool since Japanese colonial era. Third, the loom types also, like spinning tools, have been changed from the traditional Korean back-strap loom to the treadle loom in Damyang-gun, Hwasungun and Gurye-gun. Chemical dyeing with chemical dyestuff also has been done since Japanese Colonial era. Fourth, since the 1970s, the outputs of cotton production have been reduced in both Damyang-gun & Hwasun-gun. For Damyang-gun, this has been connected with bamboo craft since the Joseon Dynasty period. So, Damyang-gun has more concentrated on bamboo craft than cotton production. For Hwasun-gun, since Japanese Colonial era, sericulture has been very important. So, Hwasun-gun also has more concentrated on sericulture than cotton production. The main reason to discontinue cotton production in Damyang-gun, Hwasun-gun and Gurye-gun was related to the local choice like economic added value.

        본 연구는 월동배추를 주로 이용하는 한국인의 전통적인 김장방법으로 인한 김장철 배추가격 급등락의 문제해결에 기 여하고자 상대적으로 사용도가 낮은 봄배추를 이용한 김치 의 저장기간 연장과 품질유지를 목적으로 수행되었다. 실험 결과, 경도는 수확시기가 가장 늦은 7월초 김치가 6월 중순 김치보다 유의적으로 높았으나(p<0.01) 숙성이 진행됨에 따 라 저장 8주차에는 수확시기에 따른 유의적인 차이를 보이 지 않았다. 김치 숙성과 상관성이 높은 pH와 산도 측정결과 전반적으로 저장 초기에 비해 pH는 감소하였고, 산도는 증 가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 관능평가 결과, 외관은 김치의 제 조시기와 숙성기를 종합하여 6월말 제조 김치의 외관이 가 장 우수하였고(p<0.05), 저장 4주차와 8주차에는 7월초 김치 가 가장 우수한 것으로 평가되었으나 유의적인 차이는 없었 다. 조직감 및 전반적인 기호도 항목에 있어서도 처리구별 유의적인 차이는 보이지 않았다. 따라서 수확시기에 차이를 둔 봄배추로 김치 제조 시 생배추 상태 또는 제조직후의 차이에 비해 절임과 숙성과정, 양념의 첨가 등을 통해 그 유의 적 차이가 감소됨에 따라 수확시기가 봄배추로 제조된 김치 품질에 미치는 영향은 크지 않음을 확인할 수 있었다. 다만, 수확시기가 가장 늦은 배추로 제조된 김치의 경우 생배추 상 태에서 경도가 유의적으로 높았으며 숙성기간 및 저장기간 이 연장되었으므로 이를 수확시기나 작황사정과 연결하여 차 후 심화된 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

        본 연구에서는 국산밀 품종에 대해 발아시간에 따른 항산 화 성분 및 항산화 활성을 측정하였다. 발아시간에 따른 국산 밀 에탄올 추출물의 총 폴리페놀, 플라보노이드 및 탄닌 등 페놀성분의 함량은 발아시간에 따라 유의적인 차이를 보이 는 것으로 나타났다. 무처리 금강밀, 조경밀, 백중밀 및 고소 밀의 총 폴리페놀 함량은 13.74, 15.05, 16.84 및 13.02 mg GAE/100 g이었으며, 발아시간이 증가함에 따라 유의적으로 증가하는 경향을 보였다(p<0.05). 총 플라보노이드 함량은 각 각 5.11, 6.72, 6.28 및 5.43 mg CE/100 g이었으며, 발아시간이 증가함에 따라 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으나, 유의성을 보이는 것으로 나타났다(p<0.05). 총 탄닌 함량은 각각 9.19, 8.86, 8.93 및 8.66 mg TAE/100 g이었으며, 발아시간이 증가함에 따 라 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으나, 유의성을 보이는 것으로 나타 났다(p<0.05). 금강밀, 조경밀, 백중밀 및 고소밀의 DPPH 라 디칼 소거활성은 각각 30.77, 23.88, 25.35 및 18.73 mg TE/100 g이었으며, 25℃에서 72시간 발아 시료가 각각 47.47, 44.17, 38.22 및 42.85 mg TE/100 g으로 유의적으로 높은 활성을 보 이는 것으로 나타났다(p<0.05). ABTS 라디칼 소거활성은 각 각 83.42, 88.53, 88.87 및 79.97 mg TE/100 g이었으며, 발아시 간이 증가함에 따라 유의적으로 증가하는 경향을 보였다 (p<0.05). 이상의 결과 국산밀의 발아를 통하여 페놀성분 및 라디칼 소거활성이 증진된 효과를 얻을 수 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

        Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are an attractive source for cell therapy, as they have the potential for differentiation into multi-lineage cells. Adipose tissue is a safe source due to its easy extraction and abundant resource, with minimal risk to the organ donor. In this study, we attempted to correlate the harvest yield and resulting multipotency of feline adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (fAD-MSCs) in accordance with processing time. fAD-MSCs were individually isolated from the abdominal adipose tissues of 6 felines. They were divided into two groups, based on their processing times – Group 1: 0~1 day after adipose tissue harvesting; Group 2: more than 3 days after adipose tissue harvesting. In both groups, the proliferation capacity was analyzed using the cumulative population doubling level (CPDL) calculation assay. The expression levels of MSC-specific markers and differentiation potentials into mesodermal cell lineages were also evaluated. We observed that fAD-MSC isolation yields and CPDL were excellent in Group 1 compared with Group 2. We also found that the differentiation potential-specific genes (ACAN and OPN) were strongly expressed in Group 1 compared with Group 2. These results suggest that for the clinical treatments of feline diseases, fAD-MSCs should be isolated within 1 day after adipose tissue harvesting.

        The effects of different feeding times, using a diet containing 800 ppm betaine, on production, blood profile, and the short-chain fatty acid (SCFA), was investigated using 240 Cherry Valley (Anas platyrhynchos) meat ducks exposed to a scorching heat wave. The animals were randomly assigned to four groups, each of which was replicated three times with twenty ducks per replicate. The experimental period was 42 days for each group. Four groups were assigned into C (heat wave control group without betaine), T1 (ad libitum group fed a diet containing 800 ppm betaine), T2 (diet-restricted group fed twice daily between 05:00-10:00 and 17:00-20:00, using a diet containing 800 ppm betaine), and T3 (night-restricted group, fed from 17:00-10:00, with a diet containing 800 ppm betaine). At 42 days, body weight increased in order of T2, T1, T3 compared to the heat wave control group although. However, these differences were not found between the groups of T1 and T3. The heat wave control group, provided an ad libitum diet without betaine (C), showed an elevated feed conversion ratio compared to the groups fed a diet containing betaine. However, these differences were not found between the groups of T1, T2 and T3. RBC and platelet profiles except for PLT and MPV showed statistically significant differences between study groups fed a diet containing betaine. T2 presented significantly higher blood electrolytes Na+ and Cl- than the other groups. T2 also showed a blood gas level that was generally higher than the other groups. Total SCFA, acetic acid and propionic acid concentration has been the increasing trend in T2, but butyric acid, isobutyric acid and valeric acid concentration has been the decreasing trend in T2 compared to the other groups. It is concluded that the feeding-restricted group, fed two times daily between 05:00-10:00 and 17:00-20:00, with a diet containing 800 ppm betaine may improve growth performance in meat ducks exposed to a scorching heat wave.

        본 연구는 비가림하우스에서 오크라의 적심처리 시기가 오크라 과실의 생육 및 수량에 미치는 영향을 조사 하기 위하여 수행되었다. 오크라는 5월에 정식하였으며, 품종은 ‘그린소드’를 이용하였다. 오크라의 적심처리는 정식후 각각 30, 45, 60일 후에 실시하였다. 오크라의 지상부 생체중은 정식 60일후 적심처리구에서 가장 많았으며, 30일 처리구에서 가장 작았다. 반면, 오크라의 초장과 절간장은 적심처리간에 유의한 차이가 없었다. 오크라의 적심처리 재배는 과실의 수량과 수확개수 증가에 효과적이었다. 오크라 과실의 수량은 정식 60일후 적심처리구에서 4,257kg/10a으로 가장 많았으며, 반면 30 일후 적심처리구에서 2,508kg/10a으로 가장 적었다. 또한 오크라 과실의 무기성분은 적심처리에 따른 유의한 차이가 없었다. 따라서, 오크라의 비가림재배시 적정한 적심처리 시기는 정식 60일후에 적심처리하는 방법이 가장 적합하였다.

        This paper deals with rescheduling on unrelated parallel-machines with compressible processing times, assuming that the arrival of a set of new jobs triggers rescheduling. It formulates this rescheduling problem as an assignment problem with a side constraint and proposes a heuristic to solve it. Computational tests evaluate the efficacy of the heuristic.
