A preparation of NixMn1-xFe2O4 nanoparticles produced via the reduction of Nickel nitrate hexahydrate, Manganese (II) nitrate hexahydrate and Iron nitrate nonahydrate with hydrazine in Igepal CO-520/cyclohexane reverse micelle solutions was investigated. Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Vibration Sample Magnetometer (VSM) analyses showed that the resultant nanoparticles increased the molar ration of water to Igepal CO-520 as the concentrations of Nickel nitrate hexahyrate, Manganese (II) nitrate hexahydrate and Iron nitrate nonahydrate increased. The average size of the synthesized particles calcined at 600˚C for 2hrs was in the range of 20 nm to 30 nm, and the particle distribution was broadened. The phase of the synthesized particles was crystalline, and the magnetic behavior of the synthesized particles was superparamagnetism. The effect of the synthesis parameters of the molar ratio of water to surfactant and the calcination temperature was discussed.
Among the efforts to increase the efficiency of organic light-emitting device (OLED), there is a way: doping phosphorescent materials. As a phosphorescent material, complexes of heavy transition metal, platinum, were synthesized. Cl- ion and phenyl group were used as ancillary ligands with 2-(2-pyridyl)benzimidazole (pbi) as a chromophore. The complexes were analysed by FAB-mass spectrometer and absorption and emission spectra were obtained. A phenyl group was able to shift the emission band of the complex even if it's not a chromorphore.
This study conducts a sociolinguistic analysis of coordinate word order in Korean. The results can be summarized as follows: (i) Word placement (P1, P2) of coordinate word order is determined by the elements of lexical hierarchy, basic vocabulary, word frequency and sociocultural meaning. The elements of lexical hierarchy, basic vocabulary, and word frequency designate the status along the familiar-estranged and superior-inferior axes. (ii) The primary types of coordinate word order are divided into right order (pattern A) types and counter order (pattern B) types. Further, these are based on the arrangement of affirmative meaning (Af) and negative meaning (Ne), which are in accordance with word placement and the sociolinguistic rules of the alternative rule and co-occurrence rule. (iii) The environment types of coordinate word order include natural word order, social word order, and belief word order. The types of word order use include freezing word order and situational order. Therefore freezing word order and situational order, combined with right order and counter order, constitute the formation rule of word order. Based on our saram/horaŋi (man and tiger) example, we describe the input and output of word order. (iv) Coordinate word order comprises different types of word order use, which are influenced by gender variety. Further, the pooling of word order types forms a sociolinguistic pattern and a V-shaped curve. There is also generation variety, which also allows for sociolinguistic patterns to be formed through pooling. The criteria for a W-shaped curve are bi-order, right word order, and counter word order, which combine to form an age-grading and undulating pattern. Finally, there is class variety. In rural dialects class references are used. High classes use the right word order of new types, while low classes use the right word order of old types.
The research interprets the principles of sampling error design for quality statistics models such as hypothesis test, interval estimation, control charts and acceptance sampling. Introducing the proper discussions of the design of significance level according to the use of hypothesis test, then it presents two methods to interpret significance by Neyman-Pearson and Fisher. Second point of the study proposes the design of confidence level for interval estimation by Bayesian confidence set, frequentist confidential set and fiducial interval. Third, the content also indicates the design of type I error and type II error considering both productivity and customer claim for control chart. Finally, the study reflects the design of producer's risk with operating charistictics curve, screening and switch rules for the purpose of purchasing and subcontraction.
Analysis of how texts’ rhetorical strategies endanger or sustain the narcissistic structure of the self is an important approach in recent deconstruction criticism. This criticism carries out a challenge to the analogy between the mind and nature that is to establish a coherent image of the mind and the self. By taking Wordsworth’s the Prelude and a few poems in the earliest Yeats, this essay focuses more centrally on threats to the self and the possibility of self-representation posed by the process of representation itself. In Book IV of The Prelude, the dynamic of passion and memory operates through the image of self-knowledge as a ‘reflection.’ The motion from past to present is a totalization of the self by means of metonymical substitution: the mere eye that looks into the water receives a whole image. But as the word hang, deeps, and gleam suggest, the motion is not necessary to lead to a totality of the self. Passion and prop of affection is always already involved in the self-reflection, preventing it from closing upon itself. The complex dynamic of passion and memory thus is inimical to self-representation. The Blessed Babe passage in Book II is also governed by the figure of passage, present here in the word passion as a sort of originary movement. The self-recognition of the poet is structured as crossing between past and present relations. Here substitution occurs as a transformation of the negation of the mother into a positive gain of nature. But the phrase ‘unknown cause’ and the reference to a ‘trouble’ imply the disruption of the passage from the maternal props to natural properties. The dominant mood of Yeats's earliest poetry is one of narcissistic self-contemplation. The poet in the mood does not contemplate a thing in nature but the working of his own mind. The outside world is used as a pretext and a mirror for self-representation. In “The Song of the Happy Shepherd,” the shell is not sheer nature, impressing itself upon a passively receptive consciousness, but the subjective dream of a human imagination. In spite of the apparent replacement of all the substance of the object by its reflection, however, the image of the shell remains altogether conditioned by the existence of this object. The reflection can be left to exist as a mere phantom of the self without substantial existence of nature. The failure is made explicit in “The Sad Shepherd” where the same shell shatters his song into confusion. Yeats is well aware of this paradox. In order to escape from this narcissistic predicament, for example, he uses the image of a parrot in “The Indian to His Love” who rages “at his own image in the enamelled sea.”
Recently the Korean government has promoted, as part of a national plan for facilitating English education, the introduction of English immersion programs into public secondary schools in Korea. English immersion programs have been installed in many elementary schools in Canada and the U.S. as a practice of bilingual education, especially to help students in the linguistic minority. The government has also emphasized that the program will be further utilized for teaching general subjects in addition to English, and that it will be installed in the elementary schools as soon as possible. This paper critically reviews the suitability and validity of the English immersion program for Korean public schools from the socio-cultural, politico-economical, and language educational perspectives. Before doing that, this paper discusses: i) the origin and the objects of the immersion program, ii) the English immersion program implemented in the U.S., and iii) the difference between the features of English Immersion programs in the U.S. and those that have been introduced to Korea. Based on these discussions, this paper argues that the English immersion program is not an optimal, nor a suitable program for English education in Korean public schools. This paper suggests some ideasfor planning foreign language education policy in the future.
The aim of this study was to examine more effective cryoprotectant for the cryopreservation of mouse preantral follicles. Enzymetically isolated preantral follicles from 12-day-old mice were cryopreserved by a slow freezing protocol with 1.5 M propanediol (PROH), dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO) or glycerol (GLY) and then grown and matured in vitro for 11 days after thawing. The survival of preantral follicles immediately after freezing and thawing was not different among the PROH (68.2%), DMSO (72.4%) and GLY (72.1%). After grown and matured in vitro, the rates of survival and metaphase II oocytes were 54.9% and 36.6% for PROH which was significantly higher rates (p<0.05) compared with the rates obtained from DMSO (16.9% and 9.0%) and GLY (16.3% and 7.5%). The diameter of metaphase II oocytes from pre antral follicles frozen in PROH (67.4+-1.8 um) was significantly (p<0.05) smaller than that of the fresh preantral follicles (69.1+-2.3 um). The results from the present study revealed that PROH is more suitable cryoprotectant for the cryopreservation of mouse preantral follicles.
This paper examines whether Korean students learning English are familiar with gender-neutral language. A total of 149 first-year university students were asked to choose the words they would use when speaking or writing English. The questions in the questionnaire consist of two types: Type I asked the students to arrange the given two words (e.g., gentlemen, ladies; boys, girls) in the parallel-pair form conjoined by and; Type II asked the students to choose one of the two words or phrases (e.g., policeman, police officer; anchorman, anchor). Of the eight parallel pairs in Type I, four were chosen where the word order of Korean and English is reversed (e.g., ladies and gentlemen) and the other four pairs have the same order (e.g., boys and girls) in both Korean and English. The students did better with the same order pairs than with the reversed order pairs with the exception of ladies and gentlemen. Of the nine pairs in Type II, a majority of both female and male students picked five gender-neutral words: anchor, firefighter, mail carrier, police officer and flight attendant. The four gender-specific words they preferred were chairman, salesman, freshman and actress.

Surface-enhanced laser desorption and ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (SELDI-TOF MS) is one of the recently developed proteomic technologies which is based on capturing proteins and peptides by chemically modified surfaces and highly sensitive for the analysis of complex biological samples. In the present study, to gain insights into oocyte maturation and early embryo development, SELDI-TOF-MS was used to find the protein candidates that are specifically or prominently expressed in porcine oocytes at the in vitro matured metaphase II (MIIl) and germinal vesicle (GV) stages. By selected CM10 chip, 16 candidates were found to be up-regulated in GV stage oocytes compared with in MII stage oocytes, their molecular weights were 8,180 (2 candidates), 10,226 (5 candidates), 15,767 (5 candidates) and 16,770 (4 candidates) Da respectively. And the expression of 29 candidates were higher in MII than in GV stage oocytes, their molecular weight were 10,832 (3 candidates), 17,743 (8 candidates), 20,122 (3 candidates), 22,131 (3 candidates), 24,857 (7 candidates) and 33,507 (5 candidates) Da, respectively. The expression of selected 13 candidates (0.2 and 1.0 % error tolerances) were analyzed using real time RT-PCR. The proteins that differentially regulated during oocyte in vitro maturation in the pigs may be potential biomarkers of oocyte maturation and quality.
This study aims at the importance of Dok-do island which is located in the most eastern part of Korea. The field study was conducted during 2005. 6 and 2006. 8 at the site of Dong island of Dok-do and a total of 16 species were identified. The large breeding colony of Larus crassirostris, Oceanodroma monorhis, Calonectris leucomelas were identified and the total population of L. crassirostris was more than 10,000 individuals and signifies the largest breeding colony in the east coast. This study also attempts to collect all the information since 1978 when the bird survey was done in Dok-do for the first time. A total of 102 species were identified and this includes Falco peregrinus as Endangered species I and 9 species of Endangered II by Ministry of Environment. Dok-do also served as a habitat designated by Natural Monument #336 by Cultural Properties Administration (CPA), but CPA have not made any detailed study and conservation efforts thus far. This study also identified the potential importance of the island as a place not only for rescue island but for information center for migratory bird species in the east coastal areas.
A vast amount of research has now established that writer-reader interaction is embodied in written texts through various linguistic devices. Among them, modalization plays a key role as a strategy for constructing the interaction in text. The impetus for this study is that it allows a new perspective to cross-cultural comparison between English and Korean texts. Based on contextual analysis of 356 British and Korean newspaper science popularizations with the two pairs of analytical categories that show how directly the writer performs the interaction with the reader (Types DI and II) and how strongly the writer commits him/herself to propositions (Types S and W), this paper argues that the discoursal preferences in the interactive use of modalization by the two groups of authors seem to be a reflection of the different orientations to human relations in British and Korean societies: equality-orientation in Britain and hierarchy-orientation in Korea.
This study investigated the frequency and distribution of canine patellar luxation (PL) in Bucheon city during January 2003 to December 2006. The 144 dogs with PL were analyzed according to grade, breeds, sex, age, body weight, and existence of concurrent cranial cruciate ligament rupture. Small breed including Yorkshire Terrier (31.65%), Maltese (33.09%) and Poodle (12.23%) had higher distribution of PL. Especially Yorkshire Terrier and Maltese had higher population of PL compared with other breeds. Most of them were diagnosed as II-III grade PL, and only a few dogs had grade I and grade IV PL. Small breed of body weight 2-3 kg (38.88%) had higher population of PL, and most of them were intact female (46.52%) and castrated male (38.19%) dogs. This study showed that clients recognized the necessity of the operation for dogs with PL well when the dogs are 6 months and 3 year-old, and have II-III grade PL. The reason that body weight of 2-3 kg had higher percentage of PL is related to the breeds. In analysis, intact female and castrated male dog had higher distribution of PL. The occurrence of concomitant cranial cruciate ligament rupture was 11%. Patellar luxation is therefore considered having an influence on cranial cruciate ligament rupture.
본 논문에서는 공급 사슬의 다목표 최적화 문제를 다룬다. 복잡한 공급 사슬 모델의 구성은 시뮬레이션 모델링을 이용하고 다목표 최적화를 위한 알고리즘은 유전자 알고리즘을 사용한다. 본 연구에서 사용되는 다목표 유전자 알고리즘은 최근까지 가장 효율적인 방법중의 하나라고 제시된 NSGA-II이며, 이 알고리즘을 사용하여 시뮬레이션 모델의 확률적 공급 사슬 문제에 적용하여 나타나는 결과를 분석하고 방향을 제시한다.
미국특허법의 개정논의는 주요 미국이 무역 상대국이라는 점, 우리 법제에 미국 특허법의 영향력이 점점 커지고 있다는 점, 미국이 우리가 미국이나 일본 등의 주요 기술경쟁국을 기반으로 하는 기업들과의 소송에 있어서 주요 법적 분쟁이 발생하는 국가라는 점 등에서 우리나라 법학계에서도 지속적으로 관찰할 실익이 있다. 미국 특허법의 역외적용에 대하여 연방대법원이 마이크로소프트 對 AT&T 사건에서 미국 특허법 제271조(f)의 적용을 제한적으로 함으로써 어느 정도 제약이 되기는 하였지만 이 부분도 우리가 지속적으로 살펴보아야 한다. 개정논의에서 미국이 출원과 관련하여 선출원 주의로 변화하는 것은 우리의 관점에서 매우 바람직한 전환이라고 생각된다. 미국이 국제적인 정합성을 가지는 방향으로 특허법을 개혁하는 것은 우리의 관점에서도 미국 출원과 관련하여 별도의 추가적인 거래비용을 줄일 수 있다는 장점이 있기 때문이다. 미국의 특허법 개혁과 관련된 특허의 질 개선 내지 투기적 특허권 이용의 제한을 위한 일련의 조치들은 우리 특허법의 관점에서는 오히려 기존의 우리 특허청의 실무나 법원의 판단이 상대적으로 이러한 투기적 이용을 제약함으로써 소위 특허괴물이 등장하여 사회적 후생을 감소시키는 행동을 하는 방향으로 활동하는 것에 대한 제약으로 기능하고 있다. 미국 연방대법원은 이미 페스토 사건, 이베이 사건, KSR 사건 등에서 사법적인 노력을 하고 있었다. 우리 특허법의 실무를 감안하면 미국에 비하여 상대적으로 특허의 투기적 이용 가능성은 제한적이다. 왜냐하면, 법제상 3배 배상제도가 존재하지 않고 있으며, 배심재판 제도도 없다. 또 사법부도 자동적 가처분 대신 엄격하게 가처분결정을 하고 있고, 진보성 등의 판단도 미국의 그래엄사건 판결에서 제시된 소위 그래엄 심사와 유사하게 운용하고 있는 등 미국 사법부가 변경한 태도와 유사하게 운용하고 있기 때문이다. 그럼에도 만일 발생할 경우의 폐해를 감안한다면 특허의 투기적 이용의 가능성 내지 우려에 대한 관찰은 지속적으로 이루어지는 것이 옳다.
A phylogeny of the tribe Aphidini (Hemiptera: Aphididae) was reconstructed using three molecular gene fragments: partial mitochondrial tRNA-leucine + cytochrome oxidase II (tRNA/COII), partial mitochondrial 12S + tRNA-valine + 16S (12S/16S), and nuclear elongation factor-1 alpha (EF1α) for a total of 41 species consisting of 37 representative species in Aphidini and 4 outgroup species in the tribe Macrosiphini. Also, to compare with the molecular analyses, a second phylogenetic reconstruction was performed using 41 morphological characters for equally weighted analysis. Minimum evolution, maximum parsimony, maximum likelihood, Bayesian phylogenetic analyses, and Bremer support test were performed for the phylogenetic construction. As our phylogenetic results were compared with the classical taxonomy based on morphological characteristics and biological data, we newly confirmed the following phylogenetic relationships within Aphidini: (1) each monophyletic subtribe of Aphidina and Rhopalosphina was supported by significant P values in the combined analysis, (2) contrary to the classical taxonomic position, Cryptosiphum should be moved to Macrosiphini because it is more closely related to Lipaphis and Brevicoryne in the myzine group of Macrosiphini, (3) The genus Toxoptera was possibly considered as a non-monophyletic group because three species were separately positioned in Aphidina, (4) In Rhopalosiphina, the genus Melanaphis was relatively divergent from three genera, Rhopalosiphum, Schizaphis and Hyalopterus, clustered in a strongly supported clade, (5) in the relationships among four the Aphis species-groups, which are accepted by most aphid taxonomists, most species except for some morphologically distinct species were separated to the two main lineages; the fabae-group was confirmed to be closely related with the spiraecola-group and craccivora-group, but the gossypii-group diverged as a monophyly from those three group.
Spectral line profiles of filaments/prominences to be observed by the Fast Imaging Solar Spectrograph (FISS) are studied. The main spectral lines of interests are Hα Ca II 8542, and Ca II K. FISS has a high spectral resolving power of 2 x 105, and supports simultaneous dual-band recording. This instrument will be installed at the 1.6m New Solar Telescope (NST) of Big Bear Solar Observatory, which has a high spatial resolution of 0.065" at 500nm. Adopting the cloud model of radiative transfer and using the model parameters inferred from pre-existing observations, we have simulated a set of spectral profiles of the lines that are emitted by a filament on the disk or a prominence at the limb. Taking into account the parameters of the instrument, we have estimated the photon count to be recorded by the CCD cameras, the signal-to-noise ratios, and so on. We have also found that FISS is suitable for the study of multi-velocity threads in filaments if the spectral profiles of Ca II lines are recorded together with Hα lines
본 연구에서는 완화된 평형조건을 만족하는 응력함수를 가지는 새로운 3절점 혼합요소를 제안하였다. 전단변형률을 고려한 본 요소는 Hellinger-Reissner 변분이론에 바탕하여 유한요소정식화를 수행하였다. 응력함수는 강체변형모드를 제거하고, 장일치(field consistency) 개념을 이용하여 곡선보의 극한거동에서 가성구속조건들을 억제할 수 있도록 선정하였다. 또한, 3절점 곡선보의 혼합정식화에서 강체변형모드를 제거하면서 동시에 평형방정식을 완전하게 만족하는 응력함수와 응력매개변수를 선정하는 것은 매우 어렵기 때문에 완화된 평형조건을 만족할 수 있는 응력함수를 도입하였다. 해석결과를 통하여, 제안된 3절점 혼합 곡선보요소가 곡선보의 해석에서 세장비와 곡률에 상관없이 매우 빠른 수렴성과 안정적인 거동을 나타냄을 확인할 수 있었으며, 응력분포 계산에 있어서도 기존 혼합요소보다 뛰어난 성능을 보여주었다.
환경부 식물구계학적 특정식물 종 중 IV등급 2종과 V등급 종은 5종으로 총 7종이 확인 되었다. 멸종위기 II급종은 미선나무(Abeliophyllum distichum) 1종이 조사 되었으며, 그 외 산림청이 지정한 희귀식물은 5종이었다. 북한산은 남부형 식물인 서어나무, 산딸나무, 때죽나무 및 초피나무 등의 북한계 선상에 위치하는 종들이 분포하는 국립공원으로 식물지리학적으로 중요하며, 확인된 소산식물은 103과 362속 541종 87변종 10품종으로 총 638종류이었다. 귀화식물은 총 16과 52속 54종 4변종 58종류로 귀화율은 9.09%, 도시화지수는 20.21%로 나타났다.
