A new spary chrysanthemum (Dendranthema grandiflorum) cultivar ‘Yellow Eye’ was developed from a cross between ‘Angela’ and ‘Angaesoguk’ followed by selections of seedlings and lines at the Flower Research Institute, Gyeongnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services (ARES) from 2003 to 2007. Its characteristics were investigated three times from 2005 to 2007 under forcing culture in spring and retarding culture in autumn. The natural flowering time of ‘Yellow Eye’ was October 24th, but year-round production was possible by shading and lighting. Its flower was 3.3 cm in diameter, and had 31.7 petals and 27.9 flowers per stem in autumn. It has pollenless, single type flowers with yellow petals and green flower center. To flower in under the short day condition, for ‘Yellow Eye’ was about 41 days in spring, and ‘Yellow Eye’ showed a vase life of 23.1 days in autumn. This cultivar was registered for a commercialization in 2007. ‘Yellow Eye’ would be cultured under the greenhouse and rain shelter condition in Korea.
A new graft cactus (Copiapoa scopa) cultivar ‘edstone’was developed at Cactus Research Institute, Gyeonggi-do A.R.E.S, in 2007. GCP563 and GCP618 were crossed in 2004 and we got 9 seedlings from this combination. After pedigree selection in 2005, one cultivar was finally selected through the test of specific character in 2007 and named as “edstone” “edstone”cultivar has red brown color and round globose shape with 15 ribs and its spines are black. This cultivar is able to produce 26.8 offshoots per plant. ‘edstone’cultivar has higher productivity and more slow growth than Copiapoa scopa cultivar.
A new graft cactus (Chamaecereus silvestrii f. variegata) cultivars “ellow Ttree”was developed at Cactus Research Institute, Gyeonggi-do A.R.E.S. in 2007. GC013001 and GC0110703 were crossed in 2005 and we got 42 seedlings from this combination. After pedigree selection in 2005, one cultivar were finally selected through the test of specific character in 2007 and named as “ellow Ttree” “ellow Ttree”has cylindrical shape of yellow color with 13~14 ribs. Formation of its offshoots is concentrated on the lower part of the plant. This cultivar is able to produce 13.9 offsets shoots per plant and its offshoots are hard.

The cross was made in 2002 and ‘ink holic’was finally selected in 2007 after investigating characteristics for three years from 2005 to 2007. ‘ink holic’ a light pink standard cultivar grows vigorously and has powder mildew resistant. The major characteristics of this cultivar are 185.4 stems/m2/year in yield, 83.9cm in length of cut flower, 11.0cm in flower diameter, 42.9 in petal number, and 22.4 days in vase life. This cultivar can be propagated by both cutting and grafting. The consumer's preference of this cultivar is relatively higher than that of control cultivar, 'Moon light'.
