        ZIF-8은 제올라이트형 이미다졸레이트 골격체(Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework, ZIF) 중 하나로 마이크로 기공이 잘 발달된 구조체이며, 기공의 크기는 3.4 Å 으로 기체 흡착 및 분리 소재로 연구되어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 입자 형성에 용매가 미치는 영향에 대하여 알아보기 위하여 다양한 종류의 용매 조건에서 ZIF-8 입자를 제조하였으며 다공성의 α-알루미나 지지체 위에 나노 크기의 ZIF-8 입자를 코팅한 후 용매열합성법으로 분리막을 제조하였다. SEM, XRD, TGA, DLS 등의 분석을 통해 각 용매에서 합성된 ZIF-8 입자의 특성을 평가 및 기체 흡착 성능을 측정하였으며, 용매의 종류에 따른 분리막 형성에 대하여 SEM, XRD, 기체투과특성 등을 관찰하였다.

        This study was conducted the comparative analysis on quality and rice bread process suitability properties by four particle size classification of dry-milled flours for four rice varieties. Dry-milled rice flours were prepared by dry milling and classified according to particle size using 100, 150, 200, and 250 mesh sieves. The mean particle size by four particle size classification of 60 ~ 100 mesh, 100 ~ 150 mesh, 150 ~ 200 mesh, 200 ~ 250 mesh exhibited 118.9 μm, 87.4 μm, 65.3 μm, 46.1 μm, respectively. The particle size of dry-milled rice flours was the finer, the damaged starch content was the higher (r = − 0.570*). The particle size also had significant negative correlation with the water absorption index (r = − 0.533*, r = − 0.593*), and water solubility index (r = − 0.857**, r = − 0.584*). Dry-milled rice flours with particle size of 60 ~ 70 μm, passed through 150 and 200 mesh sieves exhibited the highest specific volume of rice bread. Whereas, the dry-milled rice flour with finer particle size above 200 mesh showed the lowest specific volume of rice bread. These results will be applied as a quality standard to aid in the selection of the most suitable dry-milled rice flour for baking.

        In general, the larvae of Protaetia brevitarsis is raised on fermented oakwood sawdust. Many attempts have been to changes components sawdust, such as using other tree instead of oakwood or adding another material. Like this some study exists, about 'component' of sawdust, however little is known of relation between larval growth and quality of sawdust. The phenomenon-big particle size sawdust flows up on excrement from the larvae-is occurring in used sawdust for raising the larvae. This study was conducted to observe the larvae and adult of Protaetia brevitarsis act according to each sawdust particle size. We conducted choice experiments with Protaetia brevitarsis, which were offered sawdust differing in particle size. Females preferred to lay their eggs on the fine particle sawdust. Also in the case of larvae, the more fine sawdust particle has the more high level of preference, and so is hatchability. Especially larvae tend to be slanted toward finer sawdust. Growth rate of the larvae was shown the highest level in the finest sawdust just as others do. These results show that fine sawdust particle size is advantage for larval development and oviposition.

        본 실험은 초고압과 입자도 차이에 따른 더덕의 외피와 육질의 항산화 활성을 비교 진행하였다. 외피의 경우 입자도 크기에 따른 항산화 활성의 유의 차가 나타나지 않았지만, 육질의 경우에는 입자도 크기에 따른 항산화 활성의 유의 차가 나타났다. 초고압 하에서 실시한 더덕 외피에서는 입자도간 항산화 활성의 유의차가 나타나지 않았다. 반면 육질에서는 초고압 처리한 압력에 따라 또한 측정한 항산화 성분에 따라 입자도 간에 유의차가 나타났다. 이와 같은 현상은 시료를 구성하는 물질이 서로 다른 경도를 지니고 있어서 내부저항에 차이가 생기는 것에 기인하며 초고압 처리가 내부저항에 작용하는 정도에 따라 기인되었을 것으로 추론한다. 이 같은 결과로 더덕을 외피와 육질을 분리하지 않은 채 입자도 영향을 분석할 경우 입자의 크기가 큰 영역에 항산화도가 높은 외피가 많이 분포되어 오히려 항산화도가 높음을 관찰하였다.

        건강기능성 물질을 함유하며 고유의 색과 향미를 가지는 유색감자 홍영 분말을 첨가한 반죽 및 면의 물리화학적 특성을 확인하였다. 홍영 미세 분말은 ball-milling을 통하여 제조하였으며, 매우 낮은 입자도로 인하여 감자의 세포 및 전분 구조가 파괴되어 손상 전분의 함량이 높았다. 이 같은 손상 전분은 낮은 온도에서 물을 흡수하고 팽창하는 성질이 높아 일반 분쇄를 통하여 얻은 분말로 제조한 반죽에 비하여 BM 분말을 반죽에 첨가하였을 때 탄성이 높고 자유수가 적은 반죽 및 면이 제조되었다. 입자 크기를 달리하여 분쇄한 홍영 분말의 경우 손상 전분이 아닌 첨가 분말의 표면적에 의하여 영향을 받으므로 입자 크기가 클수록 반죽 내의 자유수가 많아 열처리 시 더 많은 호화가 발생하였다. 홍영 분말을 첨가한 경우 홍영 특유의 붉은색이 증가함을 확인하였으며, 홍영 분말의 입자 크기가 커질수록 적색도가 감소하였다. 홍영 분말의 다양한 입자 크기에 따라 손상 전분의 발생 및 입자의 표면적에 의하여 서로 다른 호화 특성 및 면 반죽의 조직감을 나타내었다. 본 연구 결과를 통하여 미세 분말(BM)의 경우 손상 전분으로 인하여 생반죽의 탄성이 밀가루에 비하여 매우 높아 성형에 더 많은 힘이 필요함을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 미세 분말인 BM 분말과 다르게 생반죽의 성형이 용이하면서 홍영 특유의 붉은 색을 가장 잘 나타내며, 조리 이후 반죽의 탄성을 향상시키고 밀가루와 인장력에 유의차가 나타나지 않는 R1 및 R2 분말로 제조한 면이 우수한 품질을 나타냄을 확인하였다. 본 연구 결과는 전분을 함유하는 대체 분말을 이용한 제면 제품의 개발 시 입자 크기의 결정에 대한 기반이 될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

        The milling characteristics of rice using different milling methods (dry and wet) were investigated. Generally, average particle sizes of dry-milling flours were bigger than those of wet-milling flours due to low moisture content. Three theoretical models for milling, such as the Rittinger, Kick, and Bond model, were applied to characterize the milling process of rice. The wet-milling method showed higher value milling constants including Bond’s work index. Baeksulgi was used to study the effect of the milling method and particle size on rice flour’s physicochemical property (water content, color value, and texture). Moisture content and hardness of Baeksulgi were smaller as the particle size became smaller. L value of Baeksulgi was greater as the particle size became smaller. The energy requirement for the milling of grains to obtain a suitable size of particles was estimated by the grinding models. The results of our study might provide a systematic way to estimate the energy requirement to obtain a suitable particle size by milling

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the microstructures and mechanical properties of zirconia toughened alumina (ZTA) ceramics prepared from two kinds of 3Y-TZP powders. ZTA composites were prepared by adding two kinds of 3Y-TZP powders, 3YEH (BET = 7m2/g) and 3YEM (BET = 16m2/g), to α-alumina in the range of 5-25 wt%. It was found that the microstructure photographs of the ZTA composites showed that the average grain size of alumina decreased as the content of zirconia increased. In our present study, specimens containing 3YEM zirconia exhibited smaller grain sizes compared to those of 3YEH zirconia. The Vickers hardness of the ZTA composites that were sintered at 1600˚C for 2 hrs was found to smoothly decrease with increasing zirconia content because of the low Young modulus in zirconia. The Vickers hardness of the ZTA containing 3YEH zirconia was greater than that of the 3YEM zirconia. In substance, the fracture toughness (K1c) of the ZTA composites increased as the content of zirconia increased. The fracture toughness (K1c) of ZTA containing 3YEM zirconia was greater than that of 3YEH zirconia.

        The purpose of this study is to validate and verify a head nose exposure inhalation system for nano particle inhalation toxicity studies. Carbon nano tube(CNT) particles were generated by a chemical vapor deposition(CVD) generator. And purchased single wall carbon nanotubes(SWCNT) and multi wall carbon nanotubes(MWCNT) were generated by an atomizer. CNT particle distribution was measured by Scanning Nano-Particle Spectrometer(SNPS) and Condensation Particle Counter(CPC). Diameter and length of MWCNT generated by CVD were 10~40 nm and 220~20 μm respectively. Particle number concentration of MWCNT generated by CVD were 1.3×105, 4.1×104, 5.6×103#/cc in high, middle, low chamber respectively. Distribution of particles which were less than 100 nm was 45%. Particle number concentration of SWCNT generated by atomizer after magnetic stirring were 8.5×106, 5.3×105, 1.1×104#/cc and after sonication 6.7×106, 4.1×105, 9.5×103#/cc in high, middle, low chambers respectively. Particle number concentration of SWCNT generated by atomizer after magnetic stirring were 6.7×106, 4.6×105, 8.6×103#/cc and after sonication 7.7×106, 5.1×105, 1.3×104#/cc in high, middle, low chambers respectively. We set up head nose exposure inhalation system to conduct a study on nano particle inhalation toxicity. There were sufficient particle number concentrations of nano particles generated in each chamber.

        In this study, the porous ceramic filter was developed to be able to remove both dust and hazardous gas contained in fuel gas at high temperature. The porous ceramic filters were fabricated and used as a catalyst support. And the effects have been investigated such as the mean particle size, organic content and addition of foaming agent on the porosity, compressive strength and pressure drop of ceramic filters. With the increase of mean powder size and the organic content for the cordierite filter, the porosity was increased, but the compressive strength and pressure drop were decreased. From the results of the research, the optimum condition for the fabrication of ceramic filters could be acquired and they had the porosity of 58%, the compressive strength of 13.4 MPa and the pressure drop of 250 Pa. It was expected that this ceramic filter was able to be applied to the glass melting furnace, combustor, and dust/toxic gas removal filter.

        본 연구에서는 자포니카 타입 품종 중 하나인 설갱을3가지(100, 200, 300mesh)입도크기로 나눠 제분하여 글루텐 프리 쌀 식빵을 제조하고 빵의 부피, crumb의 경도, 색도, 외관형태를 통해 제빵 적성에 가장 적합한 입도를 결정하였다. 100mesh를 통과한 쌀가루로 제조한 쌀 식빵의경우 기공이 일정하지 않고 crust의 갈라짐 현상이 발생하였고, 300mesh를 통과한 쌀가루로 제조한 쌀 식빵의 경우반죽을 형성하기 위한 물에 의해 발효과정이 적절하지 않게 진행되어 반죽이 부풀지 못해 좋지 않은 품질의 빵이제조되었다. 200mesh 체를 통과하여 제조된 쌀 식빵의 경우 가장 큰 비체적과 낮은 crumb의 경도, 균일한 기공모양등 제빵 적성에 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 쌀은 밀에 비해쌀알의 경도가 높아 미세한 입자크기를 갖도록 제분할 때전분에 손상이 과하게 발생하는 단점이 있는데, 이와 달리설갱 품종은 일반 쌀 품종에 비해 쌀알의 경도가 낮아200mesh 체를 통과하는 미세한 쌀가루를 제조하는 과정에서도 전분의 손상도가 낮게 제분할 수 있는 특징을 보였다.이러한 연구결과를 통해 글루텐 프리 쌀 식빵을 제조하는데 있어 가장 적합한 쌀가루의 입도를 결정할 수 있다.

        The effects of particle size of Li-Si alloy and LiCl-KCl addition as a binder phase for raw material of anode were investigated on the formability of the thermal battery anode. The formability was evaluated with respect to filling density, tap density, compaction density, spring-back and compressive strength. With increasing particle size of Li-Si alloy powder, densities increased while spring-back and compressive strength decreased. Since the small spring-back is beneficial to avoiding breakage of pressed compacts, larger particles might be more suitable for anode forming. The increasing amount of LiCl-KCl binder phase contributed to reducing spring-back, improving the formability of anode powder too. The control of particle size also seems to be helpful to get double pressed pellets, which consisted of two layer of anode and electrolyte.

        This study is focused on investigating the relation between the particle size of silver flake powder and mechanical milling parameters. Mechanical milling parameters such as ball size, impeller rotation speed and milling time of the attrition ball-mill were controlled to produce silver flake powder. The particle size of the silver flake powder increased with increasing ball size and impeller rotation speed. The change of the particle size of the silver flake powder with mechanical milling parameters was analyzed based on balls motion in the mill container of the attrition ball-mill. The silver flake particles were formed at the elastic deformation area of the ball due to the collision between balls. The change of the particle size of the silver flake powder with mechanical milling parameters well consists with the change of the collision energy of ball with parameters mentioned above.

        본 연구에서는 입경·비중 겸용 밭작물 곡물 선별기 개발을 위한 전 단계로서, 밭작물 곡물의 완전립과 불량립의 기하학적, 공기역학적, 마찰 특성을 측정하고, 선별기 설계에 적용하기 위한 선별 요인을 분석하였다. 측정된 곡물의 기하학적 특성 결과(길이, 폭, 두께)를 이용하여 스크린의 치수와 형상을 결정하여 선별기를 제작하여 선별시험을 한 결과 선별효율은 콩의 경우 94.7%, 커피는 92.0%, 아몬드는 74.5%, 옥수수는 90.0%로 나타났다. 측정된 곡물의 마찰 특성 결과를 이용한 고무벨트 선별 시험 결과 콩의 경우 벨트 속도 0.5 m/s, 벨트 각도 5˚ 일 때 선별효율이 88.2%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 측정된 곡물의 공기역학적 특성 결과, 종말속도는 콩의 경우 4.4∼6.0 m/s, 커피는 3.2∼4.4 m/s, 아몬드는 3.5∼5.1 m/s, 옥수수는 4.7∼6.0 m/s의 범위로 나타났다.

        Fly ash is one of the aluminosilicate sources used for the synthesis of geopolymers. The particle size distribution of fly ash and the content of unburned carbon residue are known to affect the compressive strength of geopolymers. In this study, the effects of particle size and unburned carbon content of fly ash on the compressive strength of geopolymers have been studied over a compositional range in geopolymer gels. Unburned carbon was effectively separated in the -46μm fraction using an air classifier and the fixed carbon content declined from 3.04 wt% to 0.06 wt%. The mean particle size (d50) decreased from 22.17μm to 10.79μm. Size separation of fly ash by air classification resulted in reduced particle size and carbon residue content with a collateral increase in reactivity with alkali activators. Geopolymers produced from carbon-free ash, which was separated by air classification, developed up to 50 % higher compressive strength compared to geopolymers synthesized from raw ash. It was presumed that porous carbon particles hinder geopolymerization by trapping vitreous spheres in the pores of carbon particles and allowing them to remain intact in spite of alkaline attack. The microstructure of the geopolymers did not vary considerably with compressive strength, but the highest connectivity of the geopolymer gel network was achieved when the Si/Al ratio of the geopolymer gel was 5.0.

        The electrochemical performance for the corrosion of zinc anodes according to particle size and shape as anode in Zn/air batteries was study. We prepared five samples of Zn powder with different particle size and morphol- ogy. For analysis the particle size of theme, we measured particle size analysis (PSA). As the result, sample (e) had smaller particle size with 10.334 µm than others. For measuring the electrochemical performance of them, we measured the cyclic voltammetry and linear polarization in three electrode system (half-cell). For measuring the morphology change of them before and after cyclic voltammetry, we measured Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE- SEM). From the cyclic voltammetry, as the zinc powder had small size, we knew that it had large diffusion coefficient. From the linear polarization, as the zinc powder had small size, it was a good state with high polarization resistance as anode in Zn/air batteries. From the SEM images, the particle size had increased due to the dendrite formation after cyclic voltammetry. Therefore, the sample (e) with small size would have the best electrochemical performance between these samples.

        In order to increase the toughness of ZTA(zirconia toughened alumina) ceramics, the present study focused on rearrangement and densification of particles according to the particle size of the parent material. When rough alumina was used for production of ZTA, densification behavior was observed in the specimen sintered at a temperature over 1550˚C. However, it was found that the densification behavior was occurred in the specimen sintered at 1450˚C when fine alumina powder was used. High relative density exceeding 98% was obtained when fine alumina powder was mixed with 15 wt% of 3Y-TZP and sintered at 1600˚C. Also, a hardness of 1820.2 Hv was obtained when a specimen containing 10 wt% of 3Y-TZP was sintered at 1600˚C. In the case of 3Y-TZP containing rough alumina powder that had been sintered the hardness value was around 1720.3 Hv. It was predicted that an improved toughening effect in ZTA could be achieved by using finer alumina powder as the parent material.

        In this paper we have studied the effect of water droplet size on nano-particle size distribution using SMPS(Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer)system. It can be seen that the unknown peak at >100 nm was caused by water droplets which did not dry completely when DI water was used as a solvent in the SMPS system. Therefore, it is important to dry water droplets generated from atomizer in the SMPS system when measuring the particle size distribution using less than 100 nm nano-particles in diameter. From this study, It can be concluded that the napion was a useful material as dryer ones and using EAG(Electro Aerosol Generator) as a particle generator was the most effective in reducing the effect of water droplets.

        The effect of particle size distribution on green and sintered properties of Fe-Cr-Mo prealloy powder was investigated in this study. For the study, prealloyed Fe-Cr-Mo powders with different particle sizes were mixed as various ratios and cold compacted at various pressure and sintered at for 30 min, atmosphere in the continuous sintering furnace. The results shows that the powders with large particle size distribution have high compressibility and low ejection force. However the green strength are much less than those with small particle size distribution. Tensile prperties of the sintered specimes with large particles size also have high strength and elongation.

        Sulgidduk is a kind of basic steamed rice cake in Korea. Multifunctional portable grinder was used for making sulgidduk and investigated the characteristic changes of rice powder for deciding the proper particle size of rice powder. Operation times for grinding the water absorbed swelled rice were 10, 20, 30 and 40 seconds. Moisture contents of rice powder and sulgidduk showed an increasing tendency with an increase of operation times for grinding. Springiness showed significant differences according to the operation times. Cohesiveness was decreased severely after 40 seconds grinding. Chewiness showed high after 20 seconds grinding in all groups; however, decreased after 40 seconds grinding and showed similar chewiness of the control group. Fracturability also showed severe increased tendency after 20 seconds grinding and decreased after 30 seconds grinding. Strength and hardness showed significant differences; they were increased until 30 seconds and severely decreased after 40 seconds grinding. L values showed significant differences in all the groups (p≤0.05). The a and b values did not show any differences in all groups. Overall sensory evaluations, such as colors, flavors and texture, were increased with operation times for grinding and showed significant differences among the groups (p<0.05). As a result of this study, 40 seconds grinding times were the best condition for making sulgidduk, using by multifunctional grinder.
