        In this article, poly methyl triethoxy silane was compounded with an inorganic waterproof admixture at a certain ratio to improve the performance of gypsum products; a new type of high-efficiency compound water-proofing additive was also investigated. Furthermore, the waterproof mechanism and the various properties on the hardened gypsum plaster were investigated in detail by XRD and SEM. The results show that the intenerate coefficient of gypsum plaster increased to more than 0.9; the water absorbing rate decreased to less than 10 %. Both the bending strength and the compressive strength of gypsum plaster increased by various degrees. The intenerate coefficient reached a maximum value of 0.73 and the strength of the samples showed almost no change when 5 % cement alone was added. In this new type of the high-efficiency compound with waterproof additive, the optimal technological parameters for formulas were obtained to be: 5 % cement, 18 % mineral powder, and 0.8 % poly methyl triethoxy silane, to compound gypsum plaster. Meanwhile, the production of high performance gypsum as a building material has become possible.

        The purpose of this experiment is to measure the change in the growth rate and the amount of bioactive compounds when additives are added to mushrooms. According to the additive content, Ganoderma lucidum ASI7004, Ganoderma lucidum ASI7071, Ganoderma. meredithae KACC42868 and Ganoderma lucidum ASI7013 mycelial growth rate variation analysis, oriental raisin tree, Siberian ginseng, chestnut shell, apple pomace, and Korean cabbage additive increased mycelial growth by approximately 2.5 times when compared to the control group(MCM medium). The results of analyzing the total amount of polyphenol in mycelia of G. lucidum based on different kinds of additives have shown that the amount of polyphenol increased only in G. lucidum ASI7004 with 2% Korean cabbage additive. However, when other additives are added, the amount of polyphenol turned out to be lower than original G. lucidum and other individual additives. The results of analyzing the total amount of triterpenoid in mycelia of G. lucidum based on different kinds of additives have shown that the amount of triterpenoid increased in G. lucidum mycelia with apple pomace and Korean cabbage additives. Siberian ginseng additive was effective in increasing the amount of triterpenoid only when 4% Siberian ginseng was added to G. lucidum ASI7004, yet the increased amount was not significant. Although the addition of additives turned out to be effective to the growth rate, it was not effective enough towards the amount of bioactive compounds. Further experiments are required.

        The white-spotted chafer, Protaetia brevitarsis (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae) was recently listed as a temporal food ingredient by the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. Traditionally, this beetle has been regarded as a medicine for suppressing live cancer and preventing liver-related disease. Based on these facts, this beetle has been focused as a economically important insects in Korea. Therefore, this beetle is commercially reared and distributed in Korea. As the economic importance is growing, we have investigated to enhance insect rearing conditions for better commercial value. In this study, we compared two food supplements, clay and charcoal, on the larval weight gain for second instar larvae of P. brevitarsis. Clay and charcoal are generally known as a good adsorbent for heavy metals and bio-waste. However, clay and charcoal is not a conventional feed supplements, so its effects were not investigated for insect rearing. The second instar P. brevitarsis larvae were fed fermented sawdust with seven different combinations of cla and/or charcoal, and measured body weight for 17 weeks until pupated. Addition of clay at 2.5 % w/w of the fermented sawdust diet had no negative effect on larval weight gain, and thus may improve the quality of P. brevitarsis as a commercial food.

        As wrought stainless steel, sintered stainless steel (STS) has excellent high-temperature anti-corrosion even at high temperature of 800ºC and exhibit corrosion resistance in air. The oxidation behavior and oxidation mechanism of the sintered 316L stainless was reported at the high temperature in our previous study. In this study, the effects of additives on high-temperature corrosion resistances were investigated above 800ºC at the various oxides (SiO2, Al2O3, MgO and Y2O3) added STS respectively as an oxidation inhibitor. The morphology of the oxide layers were observed by SEM and the oxides phase and composition were confirmed by XRD and EDX. As a result, the weight of STS 316L sintered body increased sharply at 1000oC and the relative density of specimen decreased as metallic oxide addition increased. Compared with STS 316L sintered parts, weight change ratio corresponding to different oxidation time at 900oC and 1000oC, decreased gradually with the addition of metallic oxide. The best corrosion resistance properties of STS could be improved in case of using Y2O3. The oxidation rate was diminished dramatically by suppression the peeling on oxide layers at Y2O3 added sintered stainless steel.

        본 연구는 파인애플로 제조한 와인의 과실주의 제조 가능성을 조사하고, 첨가당의 종류가 발효과정에 어떠한 영향을 주는지를 알아보고자 실시하였다. 발효과정이 진행되는 동안 당도와 알코올 농도의 변화는 첨가한 당의 종류에 따라 다르게 변화 하였다. 당을 첨가하지 않은 과즙의 경우 가장 먼저 알코올의 증가가 종료되었으며, 특히, 포도당을 첨가한 와인에서 가장 많은 알코올(12.8%)이 생성되어 효모의 당 이용성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 유기산은 모든 와인에서 citric acid와, malic acid, acetic acid, succinic acid 및 lactic acid가 검출되었으며, 그 밖에 oxalic acid도 소량 존재하였다. 그 중에서 설탕을 첨가한 와인에서 citric acid (0.335 mg/mL)와 malic acid (0.127 mg/mL) 함량이 높게 나타났으며, 또한, 가장 많은 유기산이 측정되었다. 총 페놀 함량 및 항산화 활성도(DPPH 라디칼 제거능)는 파인애플 제조 와인에서 약 950 mg/L 및 약 4,900 mg/L으로 나타났다. 관능검사 결과는 비전문가 집단과 비교하여 전문가 집단에서 기호도는 당을 첨가하지 않는 와인에서 가장 높게 나타났다. 특히, 와인전문가들은 알코올 함량이 적은 당을 첨가하지 않은 와인을 더 선호하는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구 결과와 같이 파인애플로 제조한 와인이 가당을 하지 않고서도 과실주로서의 가능성에 대해 긍정적인 평가를 내릴 수 있었다. 이처럼, 건강에도 도움을 주고, 풍미도 좋으며, 알코올 농도가 높지 않은 와인을 제조할 수 있으며, 다양한 소비층의 소비를 유도할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

        본 연구는 서울·경기지역 초등학생 학부모를 대상으로 식품첨가물에 대한 인식 및 정보요구도를 조사 및 분석하고, 이를 토대로 식품첨가물의 올바른 정보 제공을 위한 학부모 대상 교육용 스마트폰 앱을 개발하여 시범 적용 및 평가를 수행하였다. 식품첨가물에 대한 인식과 정보요 구도를 서울·경기지역 초등학생 학부모 358명을 대상으로 설문조사한 결과, 학부모들은 가공식품 구입 시 `안전성`(40.5%)에 가장 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 식품을 구입할 때 제조일자나 유통기한 외에 제일 먼저 확인하는 사항은 `원산지`(35.4%)로 나타났다. 식품 구입 시식품표시사항을 이해하고 구매하는지에 대해서는 `보통이다`(45.1%)와 부정적 응답(15.7%)이 과반수 이상 나타났다. 식품안전에 가장 위협이 되는 요인으로 `식품첨가물`(42.7%)을 가장 많이 선택하였으며, 식품첨가물 중 `표백제 및 발색제` > `보존료` > `색소` 순으로 건강에 위험하다고 응답하였다. 가공식품 구매 시 식품첨가물이 적게 들 어간 것을 선택 하는지에 대해 긍정적 응답(63.1%)이 높은 반면, 가공식품의 식품첨가물 표시 내용 이해 여부에 대해 `보통이다`(49.2%)와 부정적 응답(21.0%)이 과반수 이상 나타났다. 식품첨가물에 관한 교육 및 홍보 필요성에 대해 88.0%가 긍정적 답변을 하였으며, 식품첨가물에 대해 가장 알고 싶은 정보는 `안전성`(74.3%)으로 나타났다. 설문 결과와 연구진의 브레인스토밍을 통해 1강, `식품첨가물이란?`, 2강, `식품첨가물 안전한가?`, 3강, `식품표시를 읽자`, 4강, `식약처의 안전 관리`, 5강 `애니메이션 즐겨보기`로 구성하여 `식품첨가물 바로 알기` 앱을 개발하였다. 개발된 교육용 앱을 서울·경기지역 초등학생 학부모 27명에게 시범 적용하여 교육 전과 교육 후를 비교한 결과, 식품첨가물의 위해성에 대해 `조금 해롭다`(40.74%)에서 `해롭지 않다`(48.15%)로, 식품첨가물에 대해 `잘 모른다`(44.44%)에서 `약간 알고 있다`(59.26%)로, 식품첨가물이 들어있는 가공식품을 안심하고 섭취해도 되는지에 대해 `잘 모른다`(44.44%)에서 `그렇다`(59.26%)로 식품첨가물의 인식이 개선된 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 개발된 교육용 스마트폰 앱 `식품첨가물 바로알기`는 학부모들에게 식품첨가물에 대한 올바른 이해와 부정적 인식을 개선하는 것으로 나타났으며, 이를 활용함으로써 식품첨가물에 대해 효과적인 정보전달 매체로 기여할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

        어육장의 항산화활성은 L. halophilus와 red ginseng powder를 첨가한 어육장에서 control보다 높은 결과를 얻어 기능성 향상에 기여함을 보여주었다. 반면에 ε-poly-L-lysine의 경우 기능성 부여에는 제한이 따르지만 미생물의 생육을 저해함을 보임으로서 어육장의 저장성 증진에 효과를 보였다. 또한 L. halophilus에서도 같은 효과를 보이는데, 이는 저장 중 생성되는 유기산과 pH 감소 때문인 것으로 사료된다. 관능평가의 경우 풍미에서는 L. halophilus 첨가군이, 짠맛과 전체적인 기호도는 red ginseng powder 첨가군이 가장 높은 점수를 얻었으나 control에 비해 유의차가 없었다. 병원성균이 저장 전후로 검출되자 않아 12주의 저장기간 동안에 안전한 것으로 나타났다.

        This study reports on the influenceof N-butyl-N-methylpyrrolidinium tetrafluoroborat (PYR14BF4) ionic liquid additive on the conducting and interfacial properties of organic solvent based electrolytes against a carbon electrode. We used the mixture of ethylene carbonate/dimethoxyethane (1:1) as an organic solvent electrolyte and tetraethylammo-nium tetrafluoroborate(TEABF4) as a common salt. Using the PYR14BF ionic liquid as additive produced higher ionic conductivity in the electrolyte and lower interface resis-tance between carbon and electrolyte, resulting in improved capacitance. The chemical and electrochemical stability of the electrolyte was measured by ionic conductivity me-ter and linear sweep voltammetry. The electrochemical analysis between electrolyte and carbon electrode was examined by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.

        Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) can be produced in mealworms. In this work, we integrated Bombyx mori (Bm) AMP, cecropin A to Beauveria bassiana ERL1170 by restriction enzyme-mediated integration method, which was confirmed by RT-PCR and an antibacterial activity assay. For the extracellular secretion of Bm cecropin A protein, the active domain of the cecropin A gene was tailed to the signal sequence of B. bassiana chitinase (Bbs). To exchange Bbs-cecropin A gene with egfp gene in pBARKS1-egfp, Bbs-cecropin A fragment was cut from pGEMBbs-cecropin A using XbaI/blunted and BamHI and ligated with cut pBARKS1-egfp using NcoI/blunted and BamHI, designated as pBARKS1-Bbs-cecropin A. After the transformation, transformants were grown on Czapek’s solution agar containing 600 μg ml-1PPT. Expression of Bm cecropin A was confirmed by RT-PCR. Strong clear zone was observed in the co-culture of the transformant D-6 and Bacillus subtilis on fourth strength Sabouraud dextrose agar 1 day after the culture at 25°C, whereas the wild type had no clear zone. This work suggests that Bm cecropin A can be efficiently produced in this mealworm-based fungal expression platform, thereby increasing the value of mealworms in the animal feed additive industry.

        곳감 생산 현장에 적용하기 위해 식초, 자몽추출물 등 총 6종의 추출물에 대한 배합비를 설정하였고, 그 결과 우수한 활성을 가지는 천연 복합 활성제의 최종적인 혼합비는 정향 18.18%, 계피 9.90%, 감초 9.09%, 천궁 4.55%, 자몽종자출물 4.55% 및 사과 식초 54.54%임을 확인하였다. 대조구 및 처리구의 수분 함량을 측정한 결과는 항갈변 실험과 항진균 실험, 항갈변/항진균 실험 모두에서 전체적으로 1주차에 비해 6주차에서 수분의 함량이 증가 하였으며 측정 주차 별로 control이 처리구에 비해 수분 함량이상대적으로 낮았다. 당도 변화에서는 건조가 진행됨에 따라 전반적 곶감의 당도는 증가하였다. 항갈변/항진균 실험에서 30∼39 °brix로 높은 당함량을 보였다. 경도를 측정한 결과에서는 control과 처리구는 거의 비슷하였으며 6주 뒤 평균적으로 0.5∼0.8정도 줄어들었다. 색도변화에서는 △값의 변화는 건조 기간 중감소하는 경향을 나타냈다. 천연 추출물은 곶감의 건조기간 중에 나타나는 품질저하를 효과적으로 억제하고 유해성 논란이 되고 있는 유황훈증법을 대체할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

        PURPOSES : This study is to develop a method to evaluate lubrication of asphalt binder using WMA additives and compare their lubrication effects on two types of WMA additives and three types of asphalt film thicknesses. METHODS : This study is based on laboratory experiments and rheological analysis of the experimental results. Testing materials are aggregate diskes, asphalt, and WMA additives. The main testing method is stress sweep test by using dynamic shear rheometer (DSR). RESULTS : Sasobit gives more lubrication effects on film thicknesses 0.2mm and under but LEADCAP does on film thicknesses over 0.3mm. CONCLUSIONS : LVE-Limit is a better parameter to discern the lubrication effects on the thin film asphalt thickness. Both Sasobit and LEADCAP WMA additives provide effective lubrication at the compaction temperature.

        In this study, GaN powders were synthesized from gallium oxide-hydroxide (GaOOH) through an ammonification process in an NH3 flow with the variation of B2O3 additives within a temperature range of 300-1050˚C. The additive effect of B2O3 on the hexagonal phase GaN powder synthesis route was examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Fourier transformation infrared transmission (FTIR) spectroscopy. With increasing the mol% of B2O3 additive in the GaOOH precursor powder, the transition temperature and the activation energy for GaN powder formation increased while the GaN synthesis limit-time (tc) shortened. The XPS results showed that Boron compounds of B2O3 and BN coexisted in the synthesized GaN powders. From the FTIR spectra, we were able to confirm that the GaN powder consisted of an amorphous or cubic phase B2O3 due to bond formation between B and O and the amorphous phase BN due to B-N bonds. The GaN powder synthesized from GaOOH and B2O3 mixed powder by an ammonification route through β-Ga2O3 intermediate state. During the ammonification process, boron compounds of B2O3 and BN coated β-Ga2O3 and GaN particles limited further nitridation processes.

        he purpose of this study is to offer youth with the basic materials for developing nutrition education programs and to help domestic science teachers in schools implement effective dietary education by examining their awareness of food additives. In the source of acquiring knowledges on food additives, the results were through mass media, technology and home economics teachers, and family members in order. The majority of students thought that they don't need the education about food additives. As effective teaching methods, they first selected the use of visual media, followed by experimental cooking classes, field trip, and inquiry lessons using processed foods. As a result of analyzing the education on food additives in accordance with demographic factors, more number of female students, compared to male students depicted the need for education on food additives. Further, the lower the cost students spend on purchasing processed foods per day, the higher the necessity of the education they indicate. The necessity of education content on food additives showed significant difference depending on the cost of buying processed foods, and the degree of interest and help real-life according to gender indicated significant differences. The satisfaction with education on food additives, which was implemented in home economics education revealed significant differences according to gender. This study aims to provide the basic data for the development and research of educational programs regarding good eating habits among the general youth. However, there are limitations to the presentation of the practical training program. For this reason, based on the results of this study, further studies should follow this study in order to develop and study educational programs related to food additives for teaching and learning purposes.
