        The purpose of this study is to develop an engineer competency model using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to improve the national technical qualification system. Korea has managed technical human resources at the government level through the operation of a national technical qualification system that certifies engineers with national certificates or technical grades by laws. However, there have been increasing concerns that the government system is separated from global standards and does not reflect an engineer’s comprehensive capabilities. For these reasons, the new architecture of the system has been continuously discussed and becomes a major policy issue of the Korean government. For the development of the engineer competency model, domestic and global models were separately structured using 554 valid questionnaires with a consistency ratio (CR) of 0.1 or less. The relative importance of engineer competency factors in a domestic model was career (0.383), qualification (0.253), academic degree (0.195), and job training (0.169) whereas the order in the global model was career (0.308), global ability (0.237), job training (0.175), domestic qualification (0.147), and academic degree (0.134). The results of AHP analysis indicated that the evaluation factors and methods recognized by engineers were different from a current government model focusing on domestic qualifications. There was also perceptual difference in the importance of engineer evaluation factors between groups depending on the type of organizations and markets. This means that it is necessary to reflect the characteristics of organizations and markets when evaluating engineer competency. Based on AHP analysis and literature reviews, this paper discussed how to develop a new engineer competency index (ECI) and presented two effective index models verified by simulation test using 59,721 engineers’ information. Lastly, the paper discussed major findings of our empirical research and proposed policy alternatives for the improvement of a national engineer qualification system. The paper contributes to the management of technical human resources since it provides quantitative competency models that are objectively developed by reflecting market recognition and can be effectively used by the policy makers or firms.

        기존의 건설정보 분류체계는 객체들 간의 관계성 표현 제한으로 인해 교량 구조물에 그대로 적용하기에는 한계가 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점을 보완하기 위하여 분류체계 기술의 국제표준인 PLIB Part 42를 활용하여 이종의 도메인 간 정보공유의 기본이 되는 형상 정보모델링에 특화된 교량 구성요소의 제품 분류체계를 제시하였다. 특히, 제안한 분류체계는 교량 구성요소의 기능적 특징을 고려한 부품의 의미적 정보가 포함 가능하도록 하였다. 또한 본 연구에서 제안한 분류체계 를 실제 모델링에 활용하기 위한 기본 프레임워크를 제안하고 이를 활용한 교량 모델을 생성함으로써 제안한 분류체계가 실 무에서 활용 가능함을 보였다.

        Modeling of forward osmosis (FO) membrane system is significantly affected by various factors such as membrane properties of materials (A, B), structure parameter (S), concentration polarization (CP), fouling, spacer design. etc. In this study, FO performance of a plate and frame type membrane is investigated via a numerical simulation based on mass conservation theorem and finite element method (FEM). To evaluate the FO membrane performance, permeate flux and recovery rate are simulated according to membrane orientation, flow direction of feed and draw solutions, flow rates, membrane structure parameter (S), and design of spacers. The modeling results can help to expand insights into FO separation characteristics and to suggest further strategy for FO process development.

        This paper develops a LED fishing lamp mounting system which slides in and out a LED fishing lamp mounting rack according to fishing situation of a fishing boat. Sliding mechanism of the LED fishing lamp mounting system is realized with a rack and pinion. Components of the LED fishing lamp mounting system are modeled with finite elements. In addition, the LED fishing lamp mounting system is modeled with rigid bodies. A rigid body model of the LED fishing lamp mounting system is interfaced with finite element component models to develop a computational model of the LED fishing lamp mounting system. A simulation is performed with the developed computational model for dynamic stress analysis of the LED fishing lamp mounting system. A bouncing, rolling, and pitching motion which describe a very rough sea are used as input conditions for the simulation. Six cases are considered for the simulation based on the number of fishing lamp and the location of sliding rack.

        Globally, smart phones have been rapidly distributed, which has led to changes in people's life cycle. Most people who are under 60 are supposed to use smart phones. Additionally, as the ratio of people who are interested in physical exercise is increasing, some applications for smart phones can manage dividual's exercise with the web servers. However, most of them can only check how much individual works out and cannot compare other's body type and life environment. Moreover, users cannot share their own data with others. This paper proposed the system which can resolve those kinds of problems through data mining techniques. The suggested model will have ability to figure out the relation between body type and the amount of exercise, find out if his work is proper from the result of classification and can pick out the features which is common to people who have similar body type and the amount of workout by applying data mining techiques. This model also will be able to recommend the proper amount of workout to each individual in order that they keep good health state efficiently.

        본 논문에서는 폭발에 의해 생기는 파편의 움직임을 입자계의 내부력을 고려하여 모델링하였다. 입자계의 내부력을 고려하는 이유는 폭발 전후에 입자계 전체의 운동량이 보존되어야 하기 때문이다. 파편의 개수가 수천 개 이상일 경우에는 내부력을 고려하지 않고 난수만을 사용해도 통계적으로 충분히 운동량을 보존시킬 수 있지만 수십 개 이하일 경우에는 통계적으로 더 이상 운동량 보존의 법칙을 만족시킬 수 없다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위하여 입자계의 내부력을 고려한 알고리즘을 제시한다. 이 알고리즘을 사용하면 폭발 후 파편의 개수가 아무리 적어도 운동량 보존 법칙을 만족하게 되어 보다 자연스러운 폭발 장면을 재현할 수 있다.

        Light brown apple moth, Epiphyas postvittana, is a significant horticultural pest native to Australia, and currently with a limited global distribution. However it can tolerate very heterogeneous climatic and vegetation conditions and has recently invaded California with considerable consequences for US international and domestic trade. By comparing the climatic conditions of its native (Australia) and long-established (New Zealand) ranges to the rest of the world using CLIMEX, it was suggested that E. postvittana has potential to establish mainly in countries in Central and South America, southern Africa, west Europe and South-east Asia. However, the predicted global distribution of E. postvittana using a new multiple-species-distribution model system suggested that there are additional climatically suitable areas around the world where this species could potentially survive and establish. Our study provides basic but important information for further assessment of the establishment capacity of this species in new habitats, wihch will provide the knowledge required to make science-based decisions in biosecurity.

        Petri Nets(PNs), as a graphical and mathematical tool, provide a uniform environment for modeling, formal analysis, and design of discrete event systems. The main objective of this paper is to model and analyze the manufacturing system using PNs as well as simulate the manufacturing system. The analysis method used in this paper is Embedded Markov Chain(EMC) method for Generalized Stochastic Petri nets(GSPN). The simulation tools used in this paper are Arena and Simnet V. 1.37. The results of three methods, EMC method, PNs simulation and Arena simulation, are obtained and compared.

        Manufacturing companies must possess a new type of production system with characteristics of reconfigurability, reusability and scalability (Dove 1995), i.e. an agile manufacturing system. Such system will allow flexibility not only in producing a variety of part, but also in changing the system itself, which is a difference form flexible manufacturing systems. A fundamental early step in the reconfiguring process for agile manufacturing system is to develop a model that adequately describes the proposed systems, in order to be able to study and evaluate the impact of the reconfiguring decision on the system performance, before its construction.         Various numerical models that have been developed for marine environments and applied to coastal waters in USA were introduced briefly.
