This study investigated and analyzed the recognition and needs for Korean communication competency among non-Korean learners who participated in an online Korean language course. To this end, the importance, performance, and necessity of the categories of communication competency recognized by Korean language learners were measured, and then IPA(Importancce-Performance Analysis: Martilla & James, 1977) analysis and Borich’s needs analysis(Borich, 1980) were used. After implementation, we examined whether there were differences in outcomes depending on learner variables. After examining the sub-items, it was found that there were differences in importance, current level, and need depending on the learner’s home country, and there were differences in current level, demand, and necessity depending on academic background and Korean language proficiency. In addition, there are differences in need depending on the learner’s reason for learning Korean, so it is necessary to respond to individual learnier’s needs according to learner variables when designing curriculum for online foreign language learners of Korean.

본 연구는 육군의 직무보수교육 기관 중 하나인 육군대학의 리더십 교육에 역량기반 교육과정을 적용 하기 위한 교육요구도를 조사할 목적으로 수행하였다. 연구자는 육군 영관장교의 리더십 역량을 도출하 기 위해 먼저 군 리더십에 관한 문헌 11편을 분석하여 22개의 리더십 역량 풀을 도출하였다. 이후 국방대 학교 리더십 전공 석‧박사과정 학생장교 11명을 대상으로 초점집단면접(FGI)을 실시하여 10개의 리더십 잠정역량을 도출하고, 역량별 정의와 하위요소를 구체화하였다. 군 리더십 교수/교관 11명을 대상으로 3차례에 걸친 전문가 델파이조사를 통해 영관장교의 리더십 핵심역량을 확정하였다. 이는 책임감, 회복탄 력성, 창의력, 군사지식, 지적수용력, 상황판단/결심, 솔선수범, 의사소통, 동기부여, 팀워크 배양, 부하개발 이다. 이를 바탕으로 역량기반 교육과정 개발을 위한 교육요구도 조사를 위해 현재 육군대학에 재학 중인 학생장교(소령) 407명을 대상으로 리더십 핵심역량별 바람직한 수준(중요도)과 자신의 현재 수준에 대한 설문을 실시하였다. 자료분석은 설문결과에 성실하게 응답한 218명을 대상으로 실시하였다. 설문결과 분 석을 통해 Borich 요구도가 상위 50%에 속하며, The Locus for Focus Model의 제 1사분면에 있는 군사 지식, 회복탄력성, 의사소통, 동기부여, 부하개발을 최우선 역량으로 판단하고, 제 2사분면에 있는 상황판 단/결심을 차선으로 판단하였다. 다만 군사지식은 육군대학 전 교육과정을 통해 습득하므로 제외하였다. 이 결과는 육군대학의 리더십 역량기반 교육과정 개발을 위한 기초자료가 될 것으로 기대된다.

Background: The globalization of the healthcare industry and the increasing demand for skilled professionals in the global healthcare industry have opened up opportunities for specialized biotech healthcare professionals to seek overseas employment and career advancement. Objects: This study aimed to develop educational content essential for the overseas employment of digital bio-health professionals. Methods: A survey was conducted among 196 participants. Google Forms (Google) were utilized to create and administer the survey, employing purposive sampling, a non-probability sampling method. Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS 25.0 (IBM Co.), including Cronbach’s α and independent sample t-tests to assess significant differences. Results: About half of college students are interested in overseas employment and international careers, while the other half had not. The most common reason for wanting to work or go overseas was “foreign experience will be useful for future activities in Korea.” Students who had experience taking courses from the Bio-health Convergence Open Sharing University preferred overseas programs more than those who did not have that experience. In terms of the degree of desire for overseas education courses provided by universities, contents related to human health were the highest, followed by bio-health big data. Conclusion: Many students wanted to work and go overseas if there is sufficient support from the university. The findings in this study suggest that universities are necessary to play an important role in supporting students' aspirations to work or go overseas by providing language education, education and training programs, information on overseas jobs, and mentoring programs.

이 연구의 목적은 중국 대학 한국어학과에서 개설된 한국문화교 육 관련 교과목과 사용하는 한국어 교재에 대해 살펴보고, 한국어 전공 학습자들의 요구조사를 통해 한국문화교육에 대한 개선 방향을 제시하 는 데 있다. 그 결과, 중국 대학 한국어학과에서 한국 문화에 대한 교 육을 부족하게 다루고 있음을 알 수 있으며, 이에 비해, 한국어학과 재 학 중인 학습자들은 모두 한국문화교육의 중요성과 필요성을 인식하고 있으며, 교육 내용 및 교수학습 측면에 대한 요구가 높았다. 이를 바탕 으로 본 연구에서는 1) 교육 내용의 풍부성, 2) 교수 학습의 다양성, 3) 교재 내용의 실제성, 4) 학습활동의 실천성이라는 네 가지 개선 방향을 제시하여 중국 대학 한국어 전공 학습자들에게 보다 더 적합한 한국문 화교육 방안을 마련하기 위한 토대를 다루었다는 데 의의를 둔다.

Sung, Juhyun. (2023). “Discourse Analysis of Rita Pierson’s TED Talk: "Every Kid Needs a Champion"”. The Sociolinguistic Journal of Korea, 31(2), 1-27. The study focuses on the discourse strategies used in Rita Pierson’s TED Talk “Every Kid Needs a Champion” speech. The transcript and video of her speech retrieved from the TED website were used as data. This paper analyzes how she has used different discourse strategies to successfully deliver her speech based on the politeness theory, persuasion strategies, and relevance theory. The findings suggest that Pierson efficiently used different discourse strategies to effectively deliver her idea through a brief public speech, which remains one of the most viewed TED speeches. The results prove that Rita Pierson has exerted effort to strategically encourage other educators to build relationships or connections with the students to improve the education system.

This study aimed to investigate the need for dietary education and programs for young Koreans belonging to singleperson households in the metropolitan area. A total of 500 young adults aged 19-34 participated in the study through an online survey. Participants responded to questions on general characteristics, dietary problems, and the need for dietary education and programs. The subjects were divided into three groups as follows: Undergraduate students, employed workers, and others. Among the subjects from single-person households, 20.2, 67, and 12.8% were undergraduate students, employed workers, and others, respectively. When asked for their estimation of an appropriate self-pay when participating in a cooking class, 39.8% of total subjects responded ‘5,000-10,000 won’. The most preferred program for young adults in single-person households was the ‘support food package’. For the preferred method of dietary education, undergraduate students showed a greater preference for classes ‘at campuses’. However, employed workers and others had a higher preference for ‘non-face-to-face online classes’. Undergraduate students tended to generally have a higher preference for dietary education and support programs compared to employed workers and others. This study provides data that will be useful for establishing healthy dietary policies and education programs for young single-person households in Korea.

Purpose: This study aimed to explore nursing simulation training needs and the educational environment of instructors. Method: This study was conducted according to the inductive method of qualitative content analysis. An online focus group interview was conducted with six instructors with experience operating a nursing simulation. Data were collected in July 2021. Results: First, “nursing simulation practice operations” required simulation design elements, practical operations, and curriculum integration. Second, the “educational environment” showed a lack of human and physical resources, and there was a need for standard education reflecting the domestic nursing education environment. Third, for “instructor competencies”, the facilitator role, step-by-step education for strengthening instructor competencies, and cooperation with clinical experts were derived. Fourth, it was found that “learner competencies” should meet the nursing professionals’ needs; self-directed learning competency and unique human competency should also be strengthened. Conclusion: This study is meaningful because it seeks to understand the instructor’s needs for nursing simulation training and the educational environment. Moreover, it identifies considerations for instructor and learner competencies in the nursing simulation operator training programs.

본 연구의 목적은 한국국제협력단(KOICA) 한국어교육 봉사단 원의 한국어 교수 역량 강화를 위한 교사 재교육 프로그램 개발에 대한 봉사단원들의 요구를 분석하는 데에 있다. KOICA는 연간 200명 이상의 한국어교육 봉사단원을 개발도상국으로 파견하여 국외에 한국어와 한국 문화를 보급하고 있다. 봉사단원의 자격이기는 하나, 한국어 교사로서 다 양한 교육기관에서 한국어교육 전문가로 활동하고 있다. 그러나 봉사단원 은 국내에서의 한국어교육 경험이 부족하고 전공자가 아닌 경우가 많아 활동 종료 후 경력을 잘 이어가지 못하고 있다. 이에 봉사단원들이 한국어 교육자로 활동을 이어나갈 수 있도록 하기 위해서는 교육 현장과 봉사단원 에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 한 재교육 프로그램의 개발이 필요하다. 본 연구 에서는 132명의 코이카 한국어교육 봉사단원을 대상으로 재교육 프로그램 개발의 방향 및 내용에 대한 설문을 실시하였다. 그 결과 코이카 한국어교 육 봉사단원이 전문성을 제고하여 경력을 이어가기 위해서는 첫째, 시대적 변화에 맞는 온라인 환경에서의 한국어 교수 역량을 강화하고, 둘째, 한국 문화 교육을 위한 실제적인 교수‧학습 방안을 익히고, 셋째, 현지 학습자의 요구와 상황에따라 유연하게 교육과정을 수정 및 개선할 수 있어야 하며,넷째, 한국어능력시험(TOPIK)과 고용허가제 한국어능력시험(EPS-TOP IK) 등에 대비할 수 있는 실제적인 수업 운영 능력이 있어야 함을 밝혔다. 마지막으로 한국어 교사로서 자신의 향후 진로에 대한 교육을 필요로 하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

이 연구는 대학 교수의 온라인 수업 역량에 대한 교수와 학생의 요구를 분석하고 그 차이를 확인하기 하고자 하였다 우선 선행 연구 분석을 통하여 잠정적인 . 온라인 수업 역량을 도출하고 전문가의 검토를 거쳐 최종 6개 영역 23개의 온라인 수업 역량을 도출하였다. 이 온라인 수업 역량을 바탕으로 중요도와 실행도를 5점 척도로 표시하는 설문지를 구성하여 부산 경남지역 4년제 대학의 대학교수와 대학생 각각 100여 명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 설문 응답 결과, 최종적으로 유효한 설문 응답자 208명(대학교 수 103명, 대학생 105명)의 데이터가 수집되었으며, 이는 t-검정, Borich의 요구도, 초점의 소재(The Locus for Focus) 모형의 세 단계 분석 방법을 교차적으로 적용하여 분석하였다. t-검정 결과, 교수자와 학습자 모두 중요도와 실행도 간에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것을 확인 하였으며, 교수자와 학생 간에도 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 7개의 역량이 도출되었다. 또한 Borich 요구도 계수 및 초점의 소재(The Locus for Focus) 모형을 통한 우선 순위 산출 결과, 교수자의 경우, 최종 우선 순위 역량은 '1. 주의집중 및 동기유발', '2. 자기계발', '3. 수업자료 개발', '4. 상호작용'의 순으로 총 4개 역량이 선정되었고, 학생의 경우는 '1. 수업평가 및 분석', '2. 수업자료 개발', '3. 개방적·긍정적 태도', '4. 학업성취도 평가', '5. 자기계발', '6. 수업내용의 전달'의 순으로 총 6개의 역량이 선정되었다. 즉, 이들 요구도의 최종 우선 순위에서도 교수자와 학생 간의 차이가 확인되었다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 최근 겪은 코로나-19 위기로 인해 면대면 교육의 대안으로 경험한 온라인 교육에서 교수자와 학생 모두가 교수자의 역량 부족 문제에 당면하였음을 확인하였다. 또한 교수자와 학생 간에 우선 순위 역량에 차이가 있음을 확인하였으므로, 대학에서 교수자의 온라인 수업 역량의 향상을 위해 교육적 지원을 하고자 할 때, 교육 서비스의 수혜자인 학생의 요구 또한 고려하고 반영하여야 함을 시사한다.

본 연구의 목적은 난임 여성을 위한 산림치유 프로그램 개발의 기초자료를 제공하는 데 있다. 본 연구는 탐색적 연구로 난임 여성의 정서적 특성과 정서적 특성에 따른 산림치유 요구도가 무엇인지 밝혀내어 산림치유 프로그램 개발과 운영을 위한 기초 자료를 제공할 것이다. 본 연구는 서울 소재 난임 전문병원에 내왕하는 난임 여성 200명을 대상으로 난임 여성의 정서적 특성과 산림치유 프로그램 요구도에 대한 33항목을 설문한 조사연구이다. 자료 분석은 SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 난임여성의 정서적 특성과 산림치유 프로그램에 대한 요구 사이의 상관관계와 중요도를 파악하고자 빈도분석과 교차분석, 일원분산분석을 진행하였다. 난임 여성들의 정서적 특성은 임신에 대한 압박감, 불안 및 두려움, 우울, 절망감, 무기력, 외로움, 슬픔, 수치심 및 죄책감, 조급함과 답답함, 분노 및 과민함 등으로 나타났다. 난임 여성의 임신에 대한 압박감, 우울, 절망감, 무기력, 외로움, 슬픔과 분노와 과민함, 불안 및 두려움이 높게 나타났다. 난임 여성의 정서적 특성에 따른 산림치유 프로그램 요구도 차이를 알 수 있었다. 임신에 대한 압박감과 수치심 및 죄책감에 따라서 난임 부부 산림치유 프로그램의 운영 형태가 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 불안과 두려움에 따라서 프로그램 참여 경험이 유의한 차이가 나타났고, 우울, 절망감, 무기력, 외로움, 슬픔에 따라서는 산림치유 프로그램에 참여하지 못하는 이유에 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 조급함과 답답함에 따라서는 희망하는 산림치유 프로그램 동반 참여자에 대해 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 분노와 과민함에 따라서 산림치유 프로그램 참여경험 및 난임 여성을 위한 산림치유 프로그램을 통한 자조모임의 효과에 대해 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 분석 결과가 난임 여성의 심신건강 증진을 위한 산림치유 프로그램을 개발하는 데 기초자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.

Protecting and preserving the natural and environmental treasures of Jeju Island is, eventually, the collective responsibility of the people of Jeju, all levels of the government, corporate and the environmental NGO sectors. Jeju Island has a vibrant environmental NGO sector with about 80 NGOs providing a variety of active environmental services. All efforts and services to conserve the environment of Jeju Island for the benefits of future generations need to be galvanized within the overarching environmental governance where all three sectors actively participate and make collective decisions within the three key elements of sustainable development: people, planet & profit. The key ingredient for promoting networking and collaborative opportunities between environmental NGOs, government entities and corporations is to improve their trust on one another. Given the current status of environmental NGOs - governments - corporations relations, it will take time to develop such trust, but if small measures are undertaken, mutual understanding & respect between the leaders of NGOs, government and corporations will grow and eventually result in mutual trust.

Given the important status of students as major stakeholders of the National English Curriculum, this study investigated specific needs of curriculum-takers for an English curriculum and compared the results with analyses of curriculum evaluation from curriculum-completers. We implemented a needs assessment survey targeting 68 elementary school students (current curriculum-takers) and an evaluation survey targeting 27 high school students (curriculum-completers) in Korean EFL context. Results showed similarities between students’ needs and evaluation in terms of the ideal time for starting English education and time allotments. However, we found significant gaps between the two groups in several domains related to their specific goals of learning English. While the current curriculum-takers showed a high motivation to learn English for both instrumental purposes and integrative purposes, the curriculum-completers were strongly biased toward instrumental purposes. Our findings provide useful insight into curriculum development and improvement for seeking educational effectiveness in EFL settings. This study also provides helpful resources for conducting needs and evaluation analyses.

인간의 삶은 끊임없는 욕구충족의 과정과 직결된다. 매슬로우는 인간의 욕구 위계론을 주장하였다. 동양의 명리학 이론으로도 인간의 욕구를 분석할 수 있다. 본 연구는 다양한 분야에서 활용되고 있는 매슬로우 욕구이론과 명리학 관점에서 욕구이론의 공통점, 차이점을 비교, 분석하고 서양의 성격검사 도구와 융합적 관점에서 활용하는 방법을 모색하는 연구이다. 연구 결과, 명리학 관점에서는 인간의 욕구를 십성(十星)의 이론에 근거하여 자아의 욕구, 연구⋅표현의 욕구, 실현의 욕구, 안정추구의 욕구, 수용의 욕구로 구분하였다. 십성은 매슬로우 욕구 5단계를 복합적으로 포괄하는 이론으로 정립할 수 있었다. 매슬로우 이론은 단계별⋅위계적 이론으로만 정립되어 있고 분석 도구로서 활용성이 미흡하였지만, 명리학 욕구이론은 선천적으로 타고난 욕구와 시간의 흐름에 의해 변화⋅발현될 욕구 예측, 욕구의 강약과 지속성 분석으로 시⋅공간적 상황까지 아우르는 성격특성, 욕구 분석이 가능하였다. 그리고 검사자의 나이, 성별, 검사장소 등의 제약을 받지 않아서 객관적인 자료로 활용가치가 높은 것으로 판단되었다.

The present study investigates secondary school student athletes’ specific needs for English learning and analyzes correlation and a cause and effect relationship among the needs-related variables. Two hundred forty six student athletes enrolled in physical education. Junior and senior high schools participated in the study. Data were collected through a survey that inquired about the students’ perceived English ability and learning areas of interest, their needs for ESP education, and aspects to be considered for ESP course design. The results show that the students put more emphasis on verbal communication (i.e., on speaking and listening) than on written communication (i.e., on reading and writing) and that they wanted more practical ESP education reflecting their needs and interests. Additionally, there was significant correlation (p<.01) among the subjects’ learning areas of interest, needs for ESP education, and aspects to be considered for ESP course design; a cause and effect relationship among the above three variables was discovered by goodness of fit test for structure equation model. Based on these findings, it is concluded that secondary school student athletes’ perceived English ability and areas of interest for English learning influence both their needs for ESP education and aspects to be considered for ESP course design.

This study aims to enhance the quality of general Chinese in university by developing learner-centered curriculum and instruction based on student's needs. In an effort to develop an effective general Chinese program of a university, the present study examined curricular and learner needs for general Chinese courses of universities. The curricular of general Chinese programs collected from a total of 46 universities in South Korea were analyzed to examine class teaching hours, credits, courses, diffentiated-level classes, special courses, and a waiving policy of credits based on student proficiency. Also the survey and the interviews were carried out with the students studying in one university (N=387) to find out their needs on general Chinese courses. The curricular analysis showed the followings: 1) When analyzing the general Chinese courses curriculum of 46 universities surveyed, most of universities preferred 2~3 hours/2~3 credits Chinese courses,; 2) The results of surveys showed that the participants have strong needs for improving differentiated-level education. 3) It seems to be necessary to accommodate learners, teachers demand and realistic constraints on learning Chinese language learners.

취업난을 해결하기 위하여 국가적인 차원에서 다양한 취업지원프로그램을 지원하고 있으며 교육과학기술부는 교육역량강화 사업을 실시하여 취업을 지원하는 대학 및 지자체 평생교육 원과 같은 기관을 통하여 취업을 지원하기 위한 다양한 정책과 방안을 모색하고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 교육 수혜자들의 요구가 직접적으로 반영되어지기에는 아직 한계가 있 을 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 보다 직접적인 교육 수혜자들의 요구에 대한 탐색을 통하여 취업지원 교육에 있어 강화 되어야할 부분들을 모색하고자하였으며, 이에 본 연구는 취업지원교육에 참여하여 구직 활동 및 취업역량강화를 필요로 하는 대상자들을 중심으로 코칭기반 역량강화 교육을 실시하고 코칭 질문을 바탕으로 하는 인터뷰를 통하여 대상자의 요구를 깊이 있게 탐색하고 연구하고자 인터뷰내용을 중심으로 다빈도 용어도출을 통한 질적 연구형식에 부합하도록 구 성하여 전개하였다. 취업지원 교육에 있어 코칭에 기반을 둔 요구도 조사를 양적연구 및 후속 연구를 위한 방향 성을 제시하고자하였다.

국제지질자원인재개발센터는 지질자원 분야의 국내·외 인적자원개발을 목적으로 설립되었으며, 개원 이래 교육 훈련 목표 성과를 달성하며 운영되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 국제지질자원인재개발센터 성과의 객관성을 확인하기 위하여 교육인증과정 수료자를 대상으로 교육요구분석 및 교육훈련 과정 성과평가를 실시하였다. 교육요구분석을 위해 Borich 교육요구도와 Locus for Focus 방식을 활용하였다. 교육훈련 과정 성과평가는 성별, 연령별, 학력별, 수강구분에 따라 만족도 및 현업적용도 분석을 위해 설문조사 방식을 활용하였다. 연구결과, 지질학, 광물자원, 석유해저, 지구환경 분야 의 교육훈련 과정의 교육요구도가 도출되었으며, Locus for Focus 방식에 따라 교육과정 개발의 시급성을 판단하였다. 교육훈련 과정 성과평가 결과 광물자원, 지구환경 분야의 과정이 지질학 분야의 과정보다 학습성취에 대한 만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났다.
