        곤충은 먹이에 따라 장내세균에 차이를 보이고, 장내세균은 필수 아미노산이나 비타민을 만들어 기주의 발육과 생장, 생식등 생리 생태에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려졌다. 본 연구에서는 포식성 무당벌레 (Harmonia axyridis)의 령기별, 먹이별로 장내에 존재하고 있는 세균의 분리 및 동정을 통해, 무당벌레 장내미생물의 종류를 알아보고 식식성인 28점박이무당벌레(Henosepilachna vigintioctomaculata)의 장내 미생물과의 비교를 통하여 기주곤충의 생태학적, 생물학적 특성에 영향을 미치는 장내세균의 선발 및 새로운 생물소재로의 가능성을 검토하고자 하였다. 포식성 무당벌레(H. axyridis)는 무테두리진딧물을 먹이로 공급하여 실내에서 누대사육을 통해 확보한 자손세대 무당벌레 유충과 성충의 소화기관을 분리하고 장내세균을 분리 동정한 결과, Staphylococcus saprophycus, S. sciuri를 포함한 총 31균주가 분리 동정되었다. 28점박이무당벌레 (H. vigintioctomaculata)는 토마토잎을 먹이로 공급하여 누대사육하한 유충과 성충의 소화기관을 분리하여 분리 동정한 결과, Pseudomonas viridiflava를 포함한 총 6균주가 분리 동정되었다. 예상과는 다르게, 포식성 무당벌레와 식식성 무당벌레의 장내 세균사이에 공통된 세균은 존재하지 않았으며, 식식성 무당벌레의 장내세균 종이 현저히 적은 것도 확인할 수 있었다. 포식성 무당벌레의 유충 전 령기와 성충에서 존재한 S. saprophycus의 경우 무당벌레의 생장과 생식에 영향을 주었다. 동일하게 S. sciuri도 유충과 성충의 전 령기에 존재하였고, S. saprophycus와는 다르게 단백질 분해능력이 있음을 확인하여 실험균주로 선발하여 항생제와 실험균주를 먹이에 처리하여 S. sciuri의 존재여부에 따른 기주곤충의 발육특성 및 생식특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다.

        본 시험은 수확시기가 옥수수 톤백 사일리지의 품질에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 2009년부터 2010년까지 국립축산과학원에서 수행되었다. 옥수수 사일리지 전용 품종인 광평옥을 이용하여 숙기별 3회(유숙기, 황숙기 및 완숙기)에 걸쳐 수확을 하여 사일리지로 조제하였다. 숙기가 진행됨에 따라 옥수수 원형 곤포 사일리지의 조단백질 함량은 감소하는 경향을 보였으나 ADF와 NDF 함량 그리고 TDN 및 in vitro 건물소화율은 비슷하였다. 숙기별 수분함

        Acyl-CoA synthetase 4(ACSL4) is an arachidonate-preferring enzyme abundant in steroidogenic tissues and postulated to modulate eicosanoid production. The human and mouse ACSL4 gene are mapped on chromosome X. The female mice heterozygous for ACSL4 deficiency became pregnant less frequently and produced small litters, with 40% of embryos surviving gestation. In this study, we examined the regulation of ACS4 by estradiol-17β and progesterone (P4) in the human endometrial cancer cell line HTB-1B. ACSL4 mRNA was increased in a dose-dependent manner. Also, expression of ACSL4 gene was up-regulated in a time-dependent manner in HTB-1B cells. However, combined treatment with progesterone and estradiol-17β modestly decreased the levels of ACS4L mRNA as compared with the estradiol-17β and progesterone respectively. Overall, these results suggest that the ACSL4 gene is regulated by progesterone and estradiol-17β in the HTB-1B cells.

        1976년부터 2010년까지 35년 동안 여자만 수질환경의 특성과 장기변동 경향을 조사하였다. 3개 정점에서 수층(표층과 저층)별 계절별로 년 4회 수온, 염분, 수소이온농도, 용존산소, 학적산소요구량, 부유물질 및 영양염류에 대해 조사한 결과, 표층수와 저층수 간에는 수온, 염분, 용존산소, 수소이온농도 및 아질산질소도 차이가 있었으나(p〈0.05), 그 외 수질항목은 표 저층간의 유의적인 차이가 없었다. 공간적 분포 특성은 염분, 화학적산소요구량, 암모니아질소 및 용존무기질소는 정점간 높은 유의적인 차이가 있었으나(p〈0.0001), 그 외 조사항목에서는 정점간 차이가 없었다. 또한, 계절별로는 수소이온농도에서는 유의성인 차이가 없었으나, 그 외 모든 조사 항목에서는 유의적이 차이가 입증되었다(p≤q0.0438). 정점별 계절별 평균치의 주성분 분석결과 여자만 안쪽의 정점 1에서는 염분과 수소이온농도는 낮고, 화학적산소요구량, 부유물질 및 영양염류는 높은 상태이었으며, 만 입구 측으로 갈수록 반대되는 경향을 나타내었다. 31년 동안 수질의 장기 변동은 네 그룹으로 구분되었다. 항목에 따라 부분적으로 차이가 있었으나 전반적으로 수온, 화학적산소요구량 및 부유물질은 점차 증가하는 경향이었고 염분는 불규칙으로 점차 낮아지는 상태이며, 영양염류중 인산인은 1991년부터 2001년까지 증가 상태이었고, 그 후 1980년대 수준을 유지하고 있으며, 용존무기질소는 증가하는 경향으로 1990년 후반부터 그 폭이 커지는 추세로 2010년에는 평년의 1/3 수준의 특징을 보였다. 여자만에서 수질 특성은 경인연안, 아산연안, 천수만, 군산연안 및 목포연안과 마찬가지로 육수 유입의 원인에 기인한 것으로 사료된다.

        Environment standards can be used as a foundation of environment administration (specific expression of political goals or quantitative evaluation standards of political effects). When environment adminstration improves severe air or water pollution rapidly, the environment standard can work effectively to show the goals specifically and clearly. The environment index which is designed to evaluate environment systems, should be established to express the environment system generally. To realize sustainable development, the sustainable indexes usually consisting of these three areas in that harmony of environment, economy and society are required. In this research, sustainable environmental indicators to understand the characteristics and to compare likes theme of environmental conditions in international and national level indicators, regional environmental management plan to promote the management by objectives are to provide the basic data. It is desirable for the environmental policies to work harmoniously with direct control, use of economic means and voluntary methods. Regarding the evaluation of environmental index, the action results of civilian's or individual's activities are needed to be reflected into the evaluation.

        The conversion of coal fly ash into zeolites contributes to the mitigation of environmental problems and turns this by-product into useful material. In this work, zeolitic sorbents for CO2 adsorption were prepared by waste fly ash from Boryeong coal power plants through the alkali fusion method including hydrothermal treatment at various ratios of NaOH/FA and NaAlO2/FA. In addition, in order to improve the adsorption capacity for CO2 molecules a few metal cations were impregnated into the synthesized zeolitic sorbents through the ion exchange. The fusion step could decompose the fly ash to very small amorphous particulate zeolite forms. The fly ash was converted into Na-P1 type with 0.5 NaOH/FA and Na-A type from the ratio of 0.53, NaAlO2/FA. Although the crystallinity of Na-A increased with increasing temperature, Na-A was transformed into sodalite at 140℃. Thus, the optimum reaction temperature was determined to be 100℃. Alkali metal and alkaline earth metal cations were impregnated into the synthesized zeolite Na-P1 and Na-A through ion exchanged method. The completed zeolitic sorbents were applied to adsorption the CO2. As a result of the examination, Ca2+ was found to be the best for CO2 adsorption owing to its electrostatic interactions and acid-base surface properties.

        Aliphatic cuticular hydrocarbons (CHCs) of different developmental stages of the spot clothing wax cicada, Lycorma delicatula (Hemiptera: Fulgoridae) were analyzed using GC and GC-MS. The numbers of carbons in the major CHCs of each developmental stage 32, 33, 28, 38, 37 in the egg, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th ins tar nymphal stages, and adults, respectively. The cuticle of Lycorma delicatula contains mainly methyl-branched 9-methylheptacosane (15.11%) in the egg stage, and a high proportion of n-heptacosane in nymphal stages (15.75, 22.42, 25.04, and 23.11 % in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th instars, respectively). In contrast, male and female adults had high proportions of n-nonacosane (13.42 and 16.55%). The chemical constituents of CHCs were classified into five groups (n-alkanes, monomethylalkanes, dimethylalkanes, trimethylalkanes, olefins) and group profiles of each developmental stage were compared. Egg surface was composed mainly monomethylalkanes (45.39%), a saturated hydrocar-bon. Nymph CHCs consisted primarily of n-alkanes (37.63 to 46.12%). There was a difference between adult male and female CHCs_ However, both contained n-alkanes and monomethylalkanes. CHCs with trimethyl or double bonded structure were rare in all stages.

        The present study investigated the physiological evaluation of cloned mini-pigs in a transportable isolator. Transportable isolator was designed and manufactured by our research team for transporting gnotobiotic pig. Until now, no previous reports are available regarding the physiological activities and harmful effects when pigs were transported in this isolator. Five cloned mini-pigs of 1~2 year (s) old female with a body weight between 80~90 kg were used. The effects of transportable isolator on stress-related hormone, adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) and cortisol levels, and heart rate were evaluated. In addition, it was also examined the effects of transportable isolator on blood chemistry factors (alanine aminotransferase: ALT, aspartate aminotransferase: AST, blood urea nitrogen: BUN, glucose, and creatinine). Blood was sampled just before the beginning of transport (T0), at the end of transport (30min after the transport; T1), and 30 min after the end of transport (T2). At the same time, heart rate was also evaluated. As a result, heart rate had no significant (p>0.05) differences at the various-time points of study (T0, T1, T2). However, heart rate was slightly higher than normal range in T1 and T2. The ACTH level was higher than normal range. Whereas, the cortisol level was lower than normal range. There were no statistical significant differences both ACTH and cortisol level between different time groups. Also, there were no significant differences in blood chemistry factors. Therefore, our present study shows that transportable isolator has no harmful effect on stress and physiological condition in cloned mini-pigs.

        In this study, the emission characteristics of landfill gas (LFG) were investigated with respect to reduced sulfur compounds (RSC) and elemental mercury. To describe their emission characteristics accurately, methane and dilution-to-threshold (D/T) ratio were also analyzed as reference. LFG samples were collected in three different pathways; (1) old landfill (LF), (2) new LF, and (3) composite from both LFs. Differences in RSC concentrations between two LFG samples were relatively insignificant in the case of H2S, CS2, and SO2. On the other hand, a significant reduction in CH3SH and DMS concentrations was observed from old landfill. The concentration data of Hg and methane showed a similar spatial trend between new and old LF, as seen from RSC. In general, a large quantity of trace gas pollutants came out from new rather than old LF. The correlation analysis indicated strong relationship between most sulfur compounds, while it is not for other components including Hg, CH4, and D/T ratio. It suggests that trace composition of LFG comply well with the maturity of landfill.

        An effective method, use of a 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine (DNPH) derivatization and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with ultraviolet (UV) detection, has been used for separation carbonyl compounds. In particular, acetonitrile/water composition as a mobile phase could not separated acrolein/acetone and 2-butanone/ butyraldehyde. In this study, however, that"s compounds separated using acetonitrile/water/tetrahydrofuran as a mobile phase. The resolution was 1.48 and 1.46, respectively. Also, aldehydes and ketones was shown different decrease rate and increase resolution at increase tetrahydrofuran ratio. But butyraldehyde become coeluted methacrolein. Therefore, it is need to consider of mobile phase for separation of butyraldehyde.

        본 연구에서는 강원도 홍천 지역에 자생하는 노랑갈퀴(Vicia chosenensis) 개체군을 대상으로 개체군 내 결실에 영향을 미치는 요소를 규명하기 위해 생물적, 무생물적 환경 요소를 조사하였다. 자생지 내 교목 층은 신갈나무가 우점하는 가운데 소나무가 드물게 존재하고 있었으며, 관목층은 생강나무, 조록싸리가 우점하고 있었다. 초본류는 결실이 된 노랑갈퀴와 미 결실된 노랑갈퀴 주변에 공통적으로 우산나물이 가장 많이 분포하였고(21%), 넓은잎외잎쑥(13~18%)과 큰기름새(10~11%)가 다음으로 높은 빈도수를 나타내었다. 자생지의 토양 특성을 분석한 결과, 토양 수분은 20.4~21.9%, 유기물 함량은 8.6~14.9%, 전질소함량은 0.3~0.5%, 유효인산은 12.7~16.9 parts per million, 양이온 치환용량은 22.5~28.5cmolckg-1, 평균 산도는 pH 5.3~5.5로 나타났다. 대부분의 노랑갈퀴는 빛이 많이 들어오는 곳에 위치하고 있었으며, 결실이된 개체가 미 결실된 개체보다 수관의 열림 정도가 크고 상대적으로 광량이 풍부한 숲틈에 분포하였다. 따라서 노랑갈퀴의 개체군 유지를 위해서는 간벌 등을 통해 상층목을 적절히 제거함으로서 숲틈이 유지될 수 있도록 하여야 할 것이다.

        A core device of foam system is the in-line eductor and it is the device to mix the foam liquid into liquid solution proper to the use density and the mixture ratio must be kept regularly regardless of changing fluid condition of the front and rear end of the in-line eductor. However, if the flux of the pressurized water changes, the mixture ratio is not kept regularly, and so it becomes a cause which a performance of fire-extinguishing deteriorates in discharging foam liquid. I devise a method to improve it that the metering orifice type in-line eductor is improved into the metering venturi type in-line eductor, the fluctuation of the mixture ratio to the flux change of the pressurized water is minimized and the performance of fire-extinguishing is kept regularly. As this method is simple in its structure and can be designed at a low cost, it helps for maintenance as well. In the future, it seems to need the research for the metering nozzle type in-line eductor in the future.

        The existing evaluation systems based on financial performance summarize the information about past results and focus on short-term performance, and so they have the limits to explain the future value of firms and to make a long-term strategic performance. By this reason, as a way to increase the future value, the development of the integrated performance evaluation system with which we may manages financial performance and knowledge assets together has been required recently. This study puts together various researches for the evaluation of knowledge assets, and analyzes the existing studies for the domestic medical devices industry and the tendency of introduction for business practice. Under this analysis, this study develops the knowledge asset evaluation indexes for medical devices industry by using the Balanced Score Card (BSC) of Kaplan & Norton(1992), and then presents the evaluation model by applying the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) of Saaty(1980) to get the weight for each index. With the final evaluation model, we can calculate the evaluation score combined with both the quantitative indexes and the qualitative indexes at once.

        Human β- defensin-2 (hBD-2) is an antimicrobial peptide which is produced by epithelial cells after stimulation with microorganisms or inflammatory mediators. However, little is known as to whether the LPS and nicotine induces the expression of hBD-2 in periodontal l igament (PDL) cells. T he p urpose o f this s tudy was t o investigate t he r oles o f MAPKs pathway o f nicotine a nd L PS-induced hBD-2 expression in PDL cells. The maximal expression of hBD-2 was observed in nicotine 5 mM and LPS 1 μg/ml treated PDL cells. Nicotine and LPS induced the phosphorylation of p38, c-Jun N-terminal kinase 1 and 2 (JNK1/2), and extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1 and 2 (ERK1/2) MAPK. ERK1/2 inhibitor SB203580, p38 inhibitor PD98059, and JNK inhibitor SP600125, blocked the effects of nicotine and LPS on hBD-2 upregulation in PDL cells. These results collectively suggest that hBD-2 is up-regulated in nicotine and LPS-treated PDL cells through activation of p38, ERK and JNK MAPKs pathway. Our data regarding the up-regulation of hBD-2 may help us to understand the antimicrobial mechanism in periodontal disease

        본 연구는 간척지에서 여름철 대표 사료작물인 수수수수 교잡종의 생산성 및 토양의 물리화학적 성질의 변화를 조사하기 위해서 석문 간척지에서 2년 동안 수행하였다. 간척지에서 수수수수 교잡종의 생산성은 돈분액비구와 화학비료구가 돈분 SCB 액비구보다 높은 수량을 보였으나 통계적인 차이는 보이지 않았다. 그리고 사료가치는 화학비료구, 돈분액비, 돈분SCB 액비의 시용구간에 비슷한 수준을 보였다. 토양중 전질소 함량은 돈분액비 시용에 의한 변화가 관찰되지 않았

        Enterobacteria were isolated in the gut of the predacious multicolored Asian ladybird beetle, Harmonia axyridis, and their effects to the development of H axyridis were examined. Populations of H axyridis in this experiment were collected from Kimjae at Cheonbuk province (JK population), Geumsan at Chungnam province (CK population) and laboratory population at Laboratory of Insect Physiology in Chungnam National University, Daejeon. Thirty-four enterobacteria isolates were purified and isolated from the digestive tract of H. axyridis, and a total of 4 strains were classified into group by analysis of 16S rRNA gene sequences. About 70% of total isolates were phylogenetic groups of Bacillus genus and Staphylococcus genus, and they were commonly separated from the digestive tract of H. axyridis. After investigating their susceptibility against antibiotics with 18 representative enterobacteria isolates, ofloxacin and penicillin were selected for examination in this study of their ability to inhibit the growth of all of isolates. In order to remove the enterobacteria from the aphids, ofloxacin and penicillin were given to the green peach aphid, Myzus persicae, and the turnip aphid, Lipaphis erysimi. These aphids were provided to H. axyridis as prey. The weight of pupa, developmental periods of each larval instar, the number of eggs and their hatching ratio of H. axyridis with treatment aphids were lower compared with non-treatment aphids. Staphylococcus saprophyticus is a representative enterobacteria and commonly isolated from the digestive tract of H. axyridis. In the absence of S. saprophyticus, the developmental periods of each larval instar increased, however, the weights of pupa, the number of eggs, and their hatching ratio decreased.

        The irradiation tests of materials in HANARO have been performed usually at temperatures below 300℃ at which the RPV(Reactor Pressure Vessel) materials of the commercial reactors such as the light water reactor and CANDU are operated. As VHTR(Very High Temperature Reactor) and SFR (Sodium-cooled Fast Reactor) projects are being carried as a part of the present Gen-IV program in Korea, the requirements for irradiation of materials at temperatures higher than 500℃ are recently being gradually increased. To overcome the restriction in the use at high temperature of the existing Al thermal media, a new capsule with double thermal media composed of two kinds of materials such as Al-Ti and Al- graphite was designed and fabricated more advanced than the single thermal media capsule. At the irradiation test of the capsule, the temperature of the specimens successfully reached 700℃ and the integrity of Al, Ti and graphite material was maintained.

        본 연구는 수확시기가 수수수수 교잡종 원형 곤포사일리지의 품질에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 천안에 위치한 국립축산과학원 자원개발부에서 수행되었다. 수수수수 교잡종 SS405를 이용하여 숙기별 2회(출수기 및 완숙기)에 걸쳐 수확을 하여 사일리지로 조제하였다. 숙기가 진행됨에 따라 수수수수 교잡종원형 곤포사일리지의 조단백질은 증가하는 경향을 보였으나 NDF 및 ADF 함량 그리고 TDN 함량은 비슷한 수준을 유지하였다. 그리고 숙기별 in vitro
