A ventilation system comprising a dielectric barrier discharger and UV‐TiO2 photocatalyst filters was designed and tested for simultaneous removal of gaseous and particulate contaminants in a test chamber. The DBD was used as the 1st stage of ESP for particle charging and gas decomposition. Charged particles were collected in the 2nd stage of ESP by an applied DC electric field. The UV‐TiO2 photocatalyst filters were used for decomposing gaseous species including O3 which was inherently produced by the DBD. Particle removal efficiencies based on mass and number were approximately 83.0% and 88.8%, respectively, after the ventilation system was operating for 5 hours. HCHO removal efficiency was approximately 100% for 1∼5ppm of upstream concentration condition. TVOC removal efficiency was 99.0% and 99.6% for 1 ppm and 5 ppm of upstream concentration conditions, respectively.

본 논문에서는 고투자율 등방성 자기물질을 이용한 공진형 마그네토미터(Resonant-type Magnetometer, RM)의 설계와 개발에 관하여 기술하였다. 먼저, 자기 물질에 감은 코일의 인덕턴스 L과 등방성 고투자율 자기 물질에서 나타나는 투자율 u(H) 사이의 기본이론을 정립하였다. 다음으로, L 의 변화를 간단한 슈미트 트리거 회로를 이용하여 주파수로 획득할 수 있는 RM회로를 구현하였다. RM의 측정능력을 평가하기 위한 선회실험을 통하여 RM의 지구자장 성분 측정 가능성을 확인하였다.

벼의 유묘 생육과 광합성 효율에 대한 저선량 방사선과 생장조절물질 간의 상승작용 효과를 확인하기 위해 4년 된 종자로 기내실험과 온실실험을 수행하였다. 기내실험에서 관찰한 종자 발아의 경우 방사선을 조사한 IBA 0.001 ppm 처리구에서 가장 높은 값을 보였다. 또한, 파종 6일 후 측정한 유묘 생육은 방사선 무 조사구보다 방사선을 조사한 GA₃와 IBA 처리구에서 대체로 높은 값을 보였으며, 그 중 IBA 0.001 ppm 처리에서 저선량 방사선과

돼지 웅성 페르몬인 5a-androst-16-en-3-one을 대체할 수 있는 활성 분자를 탐색하여 가축의 생산과 수요를 조절하기 위한 생물학적 자극 통제 수단으로 활용하고자 냄새 분자로서 2-cyclohexyloxytetrahydrofurane (A) 및 2-phenoxytetrahydrofurane (B) 유도체들의 구조 변화와 수용체인 porcine odorant binding protein (pOBP)에 대한 결합친화력 상수(p[Od.]/sub 50/) 사이의 정량적인 구조-활성관계에 관한 분자 HQSAR 모델XI을 유도하였다. 냄새 분자 중에서 cyclohexyl-치환체(A)가 phenyl-치환체(B)보다 높은 결합 친화력을 나타내었으며(A>B) 모델XI은 분자 조각크기(5∼8), 홀로그램 길이(97 bin)의 키랄성(chirality)조건에서 예측성(q²=0.916)과 상관성(r²=0.988)이 매우 양호하였다. 기여도(contribution map)로부터 냄새 분자의 결합 친화력 상수에 기여하는 부분은 2-oxyfuryl group의 C3 및 C5 원자인 반면에 cyclohexyl 고리상 tert-butyl group의 중심 탄소 원자와 furyl group의 C4 원자 부분은 기여하지 않았다.

잔류물질 간이 시험법으로 EEC-4 plate test와 Charm II test가 항생물질과 합성항균제 잔류검사에 널리 이용되고 있는 바, 이들 상호간의 결과 수치를 비교, 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. EEC-4 plate 혹은 Charm II에서 양성으로 나타난 돈육 71건에 대하여 HPLC로 정량 분석한 결과, only tetracyclines 46건, only sulfonamides와 solfonamides+tetracyclines가 각각 4건씩, amphenicols+tetracyclines와 amphenicols+sulfonamides+tetracyclines가 각각 1건씩 검출되었고, 15건에서는 검출되지 않았다. Sulfonamides 계열에서 검출된 9건의 경우, Charm-II test 결과 수치가 낮은 경우에 정량 검출량이 높게 나타났고, EEC-4 plate test결과 pH6.0, pH7.2, pH8.0모두에서 양성으로 나타나는 등 두 시험방법 간에 연관성이 있었고, chloramphenicols 계열에서 검출된 2건과 검출되지 않은 7건의 경우, Charm-II test결과 수치가 낮은 경우에는 오히려 정량 검출되지 않았으나, control point근방의 양성 수치에서는 검출량이 높게 나타날 뿐 아니라 EEC-4 plate test에서도 pH 6.0, pH 7.2, pH 8.0 모두에서 양성으로 나타나는 등 두 시험방법 간에 연관성이 있었다. 한편, tetracycline 계열의 경우, EEC-4 plate와 Charm-II간에 연관성은 없었다. 또한, EEC-4 plate와 Charm II에서 각각 양성을 나타내었으나 HPLC에서는 검출되지 않는 경우는 tetracyclines계열에서는 10.5%(6/57), sulfonamides계열의 경우는 없었고, chloramphenicols계열의 경우는 81.8%(9/11)로 각각 나타나 EEC-4 plate와 Charm II가 세 가지 잔류물질 시험에 대한 screening method로서 적합함을 알 수 있었다.

It has been confirmed that some Trihalomethanes (THMs) suspected as carcinogens, can be formed during chlorination for water supply through the reaction of chlorine and humic substances in water. The electrochemical characteristics on activated carbon fiber filter (ACF) electrode were investigated to remove the THMs in the chlorination process of drinking water. The electrochemical removal efficiency depended on the applied voltage and flow rate. In this study, the best result showed that the removal efficiency of THMs was higher than 99%.

The work of hairdressers includes washing, coloring, bleaching, permanent waving, conditioning, and cutting scalp hair. Hairdressers are subjected to a number of physical and toxicological hazards. The toxicological hazards are those resulting from exposure to a wide range of chemicals and from chemicals are usually classified active processes. In this study, twenty beauty shops were selected to assess the exposure to indoor air pollutants such as VOCs and particulate matter (PM10) during one month from September 1 to September 30, 2003. Indoor air quality of beauty shops might be worse by vehicle emissions because the beauty shops were generally located near roadway. Personal exposures to VOCs and PM10 were related to indoor concentrations of beauty shops, respectively. According to questionnaire, hairdressers responded sore throat, eye irritation, and nervousness as health effect symptoms. Conclusively, users as well as workers in beauty shop might be highly exposed to air pollutants from indoor sources and outdoor sources. Therefore, proper methods should be prepared to improve the indoor air quality in beauty shop.

최근 화학물질 및 환경오염물질의 독성 시험법으로 Frog Embryo Teratogenesis Assay-Xenopus(FETAX)방법이 독성평가에 활용되어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 FETAX 방법에 따라 한국산 개구리 중 산개구리(Rana dybowskia)의 배아를 이용하여 NiCl2, Carbofuran, Diazinon의 기형성을 조사하였으며 치사율과 기형률은 probit 분석법으로 조사하였다. NiCl2, Carbofuran, Diazinon에 따른 teratogenic concentration(EC50)은 0.4, 1.6, 1.9mg/1 을 각각 나타내었으며 embryolethal concentrations(LC50)은 17.5, 41.5, 20.2mg/1 을 나타내었다. Teratogenic indices (TI=LC50/EC50)는 NiCl2의 경우 43.8, Carbofuran의 경우 26.0. Diazinon의 경우 10.6을 나타내었다. NiCl2, Carbofuran, Diazinon는 산개구리 배아에 대해 강력한 기형성을 나타내었으며 이들의 농도에 의존하여 수포형성, 꼬리, 척추기형 등이 증가하였다. 이상의 결과들로 보아 NiCl2,Carbofuran, Diazinon 모두 낮은 농도에서 배아의 발생을 억제하여 산개구리 배아의 기형성 시험방법은 화학물질 및 환경오염물질의 독성검정에 요긴하게 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.으로 판단된다.
