        This study explores the application aspect of The detailed rules of Census (1896) through the change of Kan numbers in Gyeonpyeong-bang. Although Gyeonpyeong-bang was a high-priority area because of its location, it was difficult to trace the operation of the urban situation due to lack of data. This study is focusing on restoring space and society in the Gyeonpyeong-bang using the information on the type of houses and the number of Kan listed in the family register of Hanseong-bu. The detailed rules of Census sets out provisions for the family registry and the rules of making Tong. Especially when it comes to the rules of making Tong, this rule deals with the code of making ten Hos into one Tong. This study was conducted by dividing the status of the Tong into three types: uncompleted Tong, exceeded Tong without vacant Ho number, and exceeded Tong with the vacant Ho number. Since these three types of Tong are in the process of change towards the complete Tong with 10 Hos, they were thought to be able to demonstrate the specific application of the rules. This study will be meaningful as a case study that expands the point of existing research on the Tong making rules, which was not focused relatively on restoring urban conditions at that time, by looking at the changes in exceptions that deviated from the Sipgajaktong rule.

        고추 유래 유전자(CaMsrB2-23)를 도입하여 내건성을 갖도록 형질전환된 가뭄저항성벼(Agb0103)에 대한 식품안전성 평가를 위해 가뭄저항성벼 종실(현미)의 일반성분, 지방산, 아미노산, 무기질, 비타민 함량 등 영양성분과 항영양소를 분석하였다. 벼는 수원과 군위 2개 지역에서 2013년에 재배하였으며, 가뭄저항성벼와 일미벼 현미는 조단백질, 조지방, 조회분, 조섬유 등 일반성분 함량에 유의적인 차이가 없었으며 지방산 조성 및 아미노산 함량이 서로 유사하였다. Agb0103과 일미벼 현미의 무기질 함량은 Na 함량에서 차이가 있었으나 Na를 제외하고 모든 무기질 함량이 유사하였으며 OECD 기준 범위 내에 있었다. 대체적으로 수원에서 재배한 벼 현미의 무기질 함량이 약간 높게 나타나 재배지역간의 환경적 차이가 무기질의 함량에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 두 지역에서 재배한 Agb0103과 일미벼 현미의 비타민 함량은 유의적인 차이가 없었으나 비타민 B 함량이 OECD 자료 범위보다 낮게 나타났다. 가뭄저항성벼(Agb0103)의 사료용 평가를 위해 지상부(유숙기 잎줄기와 볏짚)에 대한 영양성분을 분석한 결과 조단백질, 조지방, 조회분, 조섬유, ADF, NDF, Ca, P의 함량에서 Agb0103과 모품종벼 간의 차이는 없는 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 조사한 가뭄저항성벼(Agb0103)는 모품종 대비 종실의 주요 영양성분과 항영양소 뿐만 아니라 벼 지상부의 성분분석 비교 결과 실질적 동등성을 확인 할 수 있었다.

        Pacific bluefin tuna (Thunnus orientalis) has been mostly caught by the Korean offshore large purse seine fishery in Korean waters. The annual catch of Pacific bluefin tuna caught by the offshore large purse seine fishery in Korean waters showed less than 1,000 mt until the 1990s except for 1997. The catch sharply increased to 2,401 mt in 2000 and recorded the highest of 2,601 mt in 2003, but the catch has generally decreased with a fluctuation thereafter. The main fishing ground of Pacific bluefin tuna of this fishery is formed around Jeju Island. However, it expanded to the Yellow Sea, the coastal of Busan, and the East Sea, which depends on the migration patterns of Pacific bluefin tuna by season. The CPUE standardization of Pacific bluefin tuna was conducted using Generalized Linear Model (GLM) to assess the proxy of the abundance index. The data used for the GLM were catch (weight), effort (number of hauls), catch ratio of Pacific bluefin tuna, moon phase by year, quarter and area. The standardized CPUE from 2004 to 2011, except for 2003 and 2010, showed a steady trend, and then increased until 2014. The CPUE in 2015 decreased, and in 2016 was higher than that in 2015. The result of GLM suggests that the effect of the catch ratio of Pacific bluefin tuna is the largest factor affecting the nominal CPUE.

        Long-term variation of zooplankton community and species composition was studied from 2003 to 2014 in a deep reservoir, Lake Soyang, in monsoon climate region, Korea. In addition, we examined the correlation with environmental factors. Annual precipitation of watershed showed a large variation in the 705~1,779 mm yr-1 and more than 70% of it was being concentrated from June to September. The water quality of Lake Soyang was shown a clearly seasonal variations and particularly turbid water flowing into the lake during rainy season was the most important environmental factors. Zooplankton community in Lake Soyang showed a significant difference before and after 2006. Zooplankton biomass has shown a large increase and also showed a change in the zooplankton community structure since 2006. The of zooplankton showed positive correlation with temperature and BOD, Chl. a, TP concentration. These results are considered that nutrient and organic matter contained in the turbid water influences the increase in zooplankton biomass and species composition. However, water quality was limited to account for the increase in biomass of zooplankton. For example, increase of small zooplankton density (rotifer; Keratella cochlearis, Polyarthra vulgaris) in spring which is dominated by diatoms (large size; Melosira, Synedra etc.) is considered as a bottom-up effect by the microbial loop. And increased density of crustaceans in autumn was considered a top-down effects by the relationship between predator and prey of microzooplankton and mesozooplankton. In other words the inflow of allochthonous organic matter during rainy season also affected to zooplankton food web in Lake Soyang. In conclusion, biomass, diversity and long-term variations of zooplankton in Lake Soyang were determined by physico-chemical factors but also it is considered that biological interactions is important.

        본 논문은 윌리엄 켄트리지(William Kentridge, 1955- )의 ≪프로젝션을 위한 드로잉 Drawings for Projection≫ 연작 (1989-2003)에 관한 연구이다. 켄트리지가 태어난 남아프리카 공화국은 과거에 ‘아파르트헤이트(apartheid)’라는 극단적인 인종차별정책을 시행했던 나라로, 켄트리지의 작업의 주제에는 이로 인한 인한 트라우마가 각인되어 있다. 트라우마는 반복강박을 수반하고, 이러한 반복강박은 현대 예술가들에게 있어서는 아카이브(archive) 형태로 나타나게 된다. 켄트리지 역시 자신의 ≪프로젝션을 위한 드로잉≫ 연작에서 아파르트헤이트라는 트라우마를 팰림프세스트라는 표현 방식을 빌어 ‘아카이브 열병’으로 표현하였다. 켄트리지는 자신의 연작인 ≪프 로젝션을 위한 드로잉≫에서 여러 겹의 흔적들이 쌓여 이루어진 팰림프세스트를 통해 과거의 기억들이 중첩된 장면들을 보여준다. 이러한 중첩은 기억과 망각 사이에 놓여 있는 여전히 현재형인 작업으로, 이는 우리가 어떻게 트라우마를 기억해야 하는지를 제시해주고 있다. 또한 켄트리지의 ≪프로젝션을 위한 드로잉≫ 연작에 나타나는 주된 기법인 팰림프세스트는 이전의 흔적들을 오버래핑(overlapping)시키며 기억을 가시화한다. 그렇기에 그 작업은 과거에도 현재에도 속하지 않으며, 동시에 과거에도 현재에도 속하게 된다. 이는 공간적 몽타주(spatial montage)의 속성으로, 공간적 몽타주는 하나의 시공간 안에 존재론적으로 조화 불가능한 것을 공존하게 하는 것이다. 과거의 흔적들을 간직하고 있 는 켄트리지의 팰림프세스트는 각기 다른 형태들의 공존을 허락하고 과거와 현재의 공존처럼 존재론적으로 가능하지 않은 장면들을 결합시킨다. 켄트리지는 존재론적으로 불가능하고 하나의 주제에 대해 각기 다른 관점을 유지하는 공간적 몽타주를 통해 과거의 역사로 편입되는 완결된 내러티브로서의 트라우마가 아닌 지금 이 순간의 트라우마를 보여주고 있는 것이다. 그러므로 결국, 팰림프세스트라는 매체 표현 방식을 통하여 아카이브 열병과 함께 공간적 몽타주를 보여주고 있는 켄트리지의 ≪프로젝션을 위한 드로잉≫ 연작은 남아프리카 공화국의 아파르트헤이트라는 트라우마를 치유하기 위한 과정이었다고 볼 수 있다.

        To determine the effect of the tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in odontoclast formation, we administrated a TNF-α inhibitor in rats with diabetes rats with periodontitis. The rats included in the study were divided into three groups: control rats without diabetes or periodontitis (the C group), rats with periodontitis and diabetes (the PD group), and rats with periodontitis and diabetes treated by infliximab, the TNF inhibitor (the PD+infliximab group). The PD and PD+ infliximab groups received intravenous administrations of streptozotocin (STZ, 50 mg/kg) to induce diabetes. After 7 days of STZ injections, the mandibular first molars were ligatured to induce periodontitis. The PD+infliximab group was intrapenitoneally administrated by infliximab (5 mg/kg). On days 3 and 20 after the ligature administration, odontoclast formation along root surfaces was evaluated by tartrate resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) staining and cathepsin K immunohistochemistry. On day 3, the number of TRAP- and cathepsin K-positive cells increased more so in the PD group than in the C group. The PD+infliximab group showed a lower number of positive cells than the PD group. There was no difference in all the groups on day 20. On day 3, the cathepsin-K positive multinucleated and mononucleated cells were higher in the PD group than in the C group. The number of cathepsin-K positive multinucleated cells was lower in the PD+infliximab group than in the PD group. The PD group showed more cathepsin K-positive cells in the furcation and distal surfaces than the c group. The Cathepsin K-positive cells of the PD+infliximab group were lower than that of the PD group in furcation. These results suggest that TNF-α stimulates odontoclast formation in diabetes with periodontitis.

        Transplantation is considered to be a very useful approach to improve human welfare and to prolong life-span. Heterologous organ transplantation using pig organs which are similar to human beings and easy to make mass-production has known as one of the alternatives. To ensure potential usage of the pig organ for transplantation application, it is essentially required to generate transgenic pig modifying immuno-related genes. Previously, we reported production of heterozygous α 1,3-galactosyltransferase (GalT) knock-out and human membrane cofactor protein (MCP) expressing pig (GalT-MCP/+), which is enforced for suppression of hyperacute and acute immunological rejection. In this study, we reported generation of homozygous pig (GalT-MCP/-MCP) by crossbreeding GalT-MCP/+ pigs. Two female founders gave birth to six of GalT-MCP/-MCP, and seven GalT-MCP/+ pigs. We performed quantitative real-time PCR, western blot, and flow cytometry analyses to confirm GalT and MCP expression. We showed that fibroblasts of the GalT-MCP/-MCP pig do not express GalT and its product Gal antigen, while efficiently express MCP. We also showed no expression of GalT, otherwise expression of MCP at heart, kidney, liver and pancreas of transgenic pig. Taken together, we suggest that the GalT-MCP/-MCP pig is a useful candidate to apply xenotransplantation study.

        Curcumin have various health-beneficial properties in numerous studies. However, its bioavailability is low due to its limited intestinal uptake and rapid metabolism. This study aimed to evaluate the pharmacokinetics of newly developed sub-micron particle curcumin with increased water dispersibility (Theracurmin® CR-033P). Plasma curcumin levels were measured at 0, 1, 2, 4, 8 h after Theracurmin® CR-033P intake using high-performance liquid chromatography. For analyzing pharmacokinetics of Theracurmin® CR-033P, eighteen healthy subjects were recruited and received Theracurmin® CR-033P at a single oral dose containing curcumin 30 mg. Cmax was 28.14 ng/ml, and the area under the curve for 8 h was estimated to be 104.36 ng/ml. Based on the area under the plasma concentration (AUC), the bioavailability of sub-micron particle curcumin was higher 22-, 35-, 28-fold than native curcumin in men, women, and all subjects, respectively. For comparing by formulation, seven healthy subjects were recruited and received two type of treatment: (1) existing dosage form 300 mg (contained curcumin 30 mg) × 3 capsule, (2) high dosage form 300 mg (contained curcumin 90 mg) × 1 capsule + placebo 300 mg × 2 capsule. In the cross-over study, there was no significant differences in Cmax and AUC of plasma curcumin. In conclusion, submicron particle curcumin with increased water dispersibility significantly improved its oral bioavailability and women absorbed curcumin more effectively than men. Different formulation of Theracurmin® CR-033P has shown equivalent to the reference in terms of pharmacokinetics.

        We have previously shown that the specific phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase inhibitor LY294002 (LY29), and its inactive analog LY303511 (LY30), inhibit a monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) expression in human umbilical vein endothelial cells; these results suggest the potential of LY30 as an anti-inflammatory drug. In this study, we determined the effects of LY30 on the production of various inflammatory cytokines in human macrophagic THP-1 cells which were stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). LY30 selectively suppressed the mRNA expression of IL-12 p40, TNF-α, and MCP-1 without affecting the expression of IL-1α, IL-6, and IL-8. Inhibition of the production of IL-12 and TNF-α by LY30 was also demonstrated using ELISA assays. In order to elucidate the mechanisms of the action of LY30, we examined the role played by the mitogen-activated protein kinases and the key transcription factors, AP-1 and NF-κB in LPS-stimulated THP-1 cells. The results revealed that LY30 inhibited LPS-induced activation of ERK, but not p38 or JNK. Furthermore, the AP-1 DNA binding activity was suppressed by LY30 based upon the dosage, whereas NF-κB DNA binding was not affected. These results suggest that LY30 selectively inhibits cytokine production in the LPS-stimulated macrophagic THP-1 cells by downregulating the activation of ERK and AP-1.

        국내의 강력사건은 헬기·경비함정을 이용, 즉각적인 대응 및 처리를 할 수 있으나, 공해상 원양어선에서의 강력사건 대응은 지리적 원거리로 인한 자연적 한계가 있고, 국내법 및 국제법적 판단이 필요하다. 즉, 선박의 국적, 발생해역의 법적 지위, 가해자 또는 피해자의 국적 등을 감안하여 대한민국이 형사관할권을 행사할 수 있는지를 판단해야하며, 이러한 자연적인 문제와 함께 외국에서 해 양경찰이 실효적으로 경찰력을 발동할 수 있는가의 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 최근에 발생한 803광현호를 중심으로 관할권, 피의자 신병처리, 선상살인 사건의 근본 원인을 분석하여 향후 유사사례 발생 시 신속한 수사를 위한 제도적 개선방안을 제시하고자 한다.
