        PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to investigate the correlation between occupant impact velocities and occupant injury indices under the restraint of an airbag and a seat belt, during frontal crash events. METHODS : The frontal crash test data of 93 tests conducted according to the Korea New Car Assessment Program (KNCAP) were investigated. The test data was measured by using a dummy to obtain occupant injury indices for the head, chest, neck, and upper legs. Occupant impact velocities (OIVx and OIVz) were calculated from the head acceleration of the test dummy. Pearson's correlation analysis and regression analysis were used to investigate the correlation between occupant impact velocities and occupant injury indices. In addition, the occupant impact velocities at the center of gravity of a vehicle, obtained by using the accelerations measured at the test vehicle's B-pillars, were investigated. RESULTS: The OIVx threshold obtained from the test dummies, which corresponds to the HIC15 of 700, was 70 km/h for a sedan, and 72 km/h for an SUV, which is significantly higher than the occupant impact velocity of 44 km/h, the limit of the domestic guideline on “Installation and management guide for roadside safety facilities”. This difference can be attributed to the influence of the air bags and seat belts. Additionally, the OIVx threshold obtained from the center of gravity of the vehicle corresponding to the HIC15 of 700 was approximately 72 km/h. CONCLUSIONS: Occupant safety performance criteria for the condition that airbags operate and seat belts are restrained, are required for the frontal impact tests of road safety facilities using a collision velocity of 60 km/h or higher.

        In a seismic design, a structural demand by an earthquake load is determined by design response spectra. The ground motion is a three-dimensional movement; therefore, the design response spectra in each direction need to be assigned. However, in most design codes, an identical design response spectrum is used in two horizontal directions. Unlike these design criteria, a realistic seismic input motion should be applied for a seismic evaluation of structures. In this study, the definition of horizontal spectral acceleration representing the two-horizontal spectral acceleration is reviewed. Based on these methodologies, the horizontal responses of observed ground motions are calculated. The data used in the analysis are recorded accelerograms at the stations near the epicenters of recent earthquakes which are the 2007 Odeasan earthquake, 2016 Gyeongju earthquake, and 2017 Pohang earthquake. Geometric mean-based horizontal response spectra and maximum directional response spectrum are evaluated and their differences are compared over the period range. Statistical representation of the relations between geometric mean and maximum directional spectral acceleration for horizontal direction and spectral acceleration for vertical direction are also evaluated. Finally, discussions and suggestions to consider these different two horizontal directional spectral accelerations in the seismic performance evaluation are presented.

        This paper is concerned to develop a fluid pressure system for the control of artificial bladder urine discharge. The primary goal is to force the fluid into the space between the inner wall and the outer wall by using a pump in the artificial bladder having a double structure of inner and outer walls and to form the urine discharge pressure by the contraction of the bladder inner wall due to the movement of the fluid. The ANSYS_CFD analysis is used to confirm the delivery of fluid pressure in the artificial bladder model, and the ANSYS_FSI analysis is used to identify the deformation and internal pressure of the artificial bladder through the delivery of fluid pressure, and to identify the discharge of urine. As the design parameters of the modeling of the artificial bladder and the fluid flow field, the capacity of the flow field, and the pump pressure input value were selected.

        유엔의 제1차 및 2차 세계인권프로그램 행동계획에 따라 세계 개별 국가들은 자발적 참여와 법제도의 정비를 통하여 인권교육의 강화와 발전을 위하여 노력하고 있다. 이러한 시대적 상황변화에 따라 우리나라는 인권위원회를 중심으로 인권교육을 확산하려고 노력하고 있으나, 큰 진전이 없고 더욱이 승선 중인 선원인권에 대해서는 제대로 된 관심을 기울이지 못하고 있다. 따라서 이 연구는 혼승선박에 승선하고 있는 선원들의 인권강화를 위한 교육환경을 조성하기 위하여 이와 관련된 국내외 각종 문헌자료와 선원인권침해 사례를 바탕으로 현상학적인 문제를 인식하고 상호주관적인 연구방법을 활용하였다. 이를 통하여 최근 혼승선박에서 발생하는 갈등의 핵심 원인으 로 지목되고 있는 선원인권에 대한 근원적인 해결책으로 선원인권교육의 도입 필요성과 지정교육기관의 인권교육과정에 대한 방안을 제시하였다.

        Ti has received considerable attention for aerospace, vehicle, and semiconductor industry applications because of its acid-resistant nature, low density, and high mechanical strength. A common precursor used for preparing Ti materials is TiCl4. To prepare high-purity TiCl4, a process based on the removal of VOCl3 has been widely applied. However, VOCl3 removal by distillation and condensation is difficult because of the similar physical properties of TiCl4 and VOCl3. To circumvent this problem, in this study, we have developed a process for VOCl3 removal using Cu powder and mineral oil as purifying agents. The effects of reaction time and temperature, and ratio of purifying agents on the VOCl3 removal efficiency are investigated by chemical and structural measurements. Clear TiCl4 is obtained after the removal of VOCl3. Notably, complete removal of VOCl3 is achieved with 2.0 wt% of mineral oil. Moreover, the refined TiCl4 is used as a precursor for the synthesis of Ti powder. Ti powder is fabricated by a thermal reduction process at 1,100oC using an H2-Ar gas mixture. The average size of the Ti powder particles is in the range of 1-3 μm.

        PURPOSES : The recent increase in the application of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) calls for more research focusing the evaluation of pavement performance. For this matter, this study aims at evaluating pavement performance using the application rate of RAP. METHODS: To obtain mixtures with RAP aggregate application rates of 10%, 25% and 30%, the gyratory compaction method was applied regarding the mix design process for determining the optimum asphalt content (OAC). Additionally, the in-direct tension (IDT) test, deformation strength test (DST), tensile strength ratio (TSR) test and dynamic modulus (DM) test were conducted to verify the effect of RAP application rate on pavement performance. Based on the above-mentioned results, performance evaluation was done to these RAP application of design or utilization to construction site. The performance evaluation analysis was performed using the Korean Pavement Research Program (KPRP) of second level for the pavement design. RESULTS: From the DST results, the rutting resistance was improved as the application rates of RAP were increased. Additionally, all the IDT and toughness results satisfied the quality standards of the asphalt concrete pavement. However, the results did not conform with the tensile strength ratio standards with the application rates of RAP of 25% and 30%. This means that the standards, which should be considered when the addictive regeneration material is applied to the mixture when the RAP application rate is over 25%, were reflected. CONCLUSIONS : The predicted performance decreased from the second level performance analysis with the increase in the RAP application rates. All the cases satisfied the design standards (fatigue cracking, rutting depth and international roughness index (IRI)). However, the results of them closed to these standards (up to 94% (Fatigue)).

        Generally, ceramic tiles for building construction are manufactured by dry forming process using granular powders prepared by spray drying process after mixing and grinding of mineral raw materials. In recent years, as the demand for large ceramic tiles with natural texture has increased, the development of granule powders with high packing ratio and excellent flowability has become more important. In this study, ceramic tile granule powders are coated with hydrophobically treated silica nanoparticles. The effects of hydrophobic silica coating on the flowability of granule powders and the strength of the green body are investigated in detail. Silica nanoparticles are hydrophobically treated with GPTMS(3-glycidoxypropyl trimethoxy silane), which is an epoxy-based silane coupling agent. As the coating concentration increases, the angle of repose and the compressibility decrease. The tap density and flowability index increase after silica coating treatment. These results indicate that hydrophobic treatment can improve the flowability of the granular powder, and prevent cracking of green body at high pressure molding.

        자율화 기술이 진보하고 있으나 그 기술이 구체적인 특정 영역과 만날 때 어떻게 구현될 것인가를 주목할 필요가 있다. 본 논문은 자율화 기술이 적용된 선박의 경우 근본적으로 인간시스템으로서의 선박의 성질로부터 자유로울 수 없음을 주장하였다. 그리고 수천 년 동안 선박안전의 근간이었던 선원의 상무는 자율화 기술의 적합성을 판단하는 기준으로 작동할 것임을 밝혔다. 이 점에서 국제해사기구의 자율운항선박은 원격운항선박과 완전자율선박으로 재 개념화가 되어야 하고 두 개발모델은 모두 선원의 상무의 기준점을 통과해야 할 것 이다. 더 나아가 선원의 상무가 자율운항선박의 중심적 역할을 하는 한, 특별법 보다는 해사법규를 개정하는 접근법이 자율운항선박 규제에 보다 적합할 것으 로 보았다. 이에 따라 본 논문은 최소한의 필요한 개정안을 제시하였다.

        Recently, the demand of wire quality improvement has been increasing due to the development of the textile market, and the demand for round type flat wire having superior performance compared to the existing reed wire is also increasing greatly. The round wire requires equal spacing and precise alignment of the wire at reed knitting. So, there is a need for a method for measuring the flatness of Reed in real time. In this paper, it is shown how the contact and non - contact methods for the flatness of Reed used in a power loom are easy to measure in real - time process. The contact-type method provides excellent measurement accuracy and precision because it directly touches the object. The non-contact type does not touch the object, so it does not scratch the surface, and the result can be obtained faster than the contact type. Contact type measuring device was used as contact type and laser displacement sensor was used as non - contact type. It was confirmed that the measurement method using the laser displacement sensor (non-contact type) is suitable for the real time process.

        파초일엽 자생지는 1949년 제주도 삼도에서 최초 발견된 이후 학술적 가치가 인정되어 1962년 12월 천연기념물 제18호 지정되었다. 우리나라에서는 제주도 삼도에서만 자생하며, 해방이후 땔감, 도취 등으로 자생지가 크게 훼손되어 거의 멸실에 이르렀으나 이식, 복원을 통해 명맥을 유지하고 있다. 대상지는 2011년부터 공개제한구역으로 관리되고 있으며 2000년대 자생지 복원 이후 약 20년이 지난 시점에서 파초일엽 생육실태 변화상에 대한 모니터링과 자생지 관리를 위해 이식, 복원의 기원 등 주요 관리이력에 대한 공식적인 기록 확인이 필요한 상황이다. 본 연구 결과 지정초기 부터 현재까지 자생종 판별, 이식・복원 기록 등 문화재 관리이력을 확보하였고, 복원 이후 약 20년이 지난시점에서 파초일엽 생육변화상을 살펴보았다. 파초일엽 자생지 복원 이력을 살펴보면 1970-80년대에 이식된 개체들은 공식문서 가 없었으며 1974년 복원・이식한 개체는 당시 일본 개체로 판단되어 자생종에 대한 논란이 있었다. 파초일엽 자생종 판별 연구를 통해 유전적으로 자생종으로 판명된 개체를 증식하여 2000년 156본, 2001년 150본을 이식하고 육묘장을 2004년 조성하여 파초일엽을 증식하였다. 자생지 내 파초일엽 생육지는 2곳으로 지점 1은 석축 위에 65개체가 3단에 나누어 밀식하여 자라고 지점 2는 29개체가 2열로 자라는 형태로 조사되었다. 파초일엽이 생육하고 있는 지역의 식생은 참식나무가 우점하는 상록활엽수림지대이며, 조사지점 외 자생 파초일엽 개체는 발견하지 못하였다. 본 연구의 특기할 만한 사항은 복원 후 최초로 자연 발생한 파초일엽 치수의 분포현황을 확인한 점이다. 치수 개체는 약 300개체 이상이었 으며, 이 중 밀도가 높은 지점을 중심으로 모니터링을 위한 고정조사구 3개소를 선정하였다. 모니터링 1지점의 파초일엽 치수는 23개체로 개체당 잎수는 4~17장, 길이는 0.5~20 ㎝이었으며, 2지점은 88개체로 개체당 잎수는 5~6장 길이는 1.3~10.4 ㎝이었으며, 지점 3은 22개체로 잎 수 5~9장, 잎 길이 4.5~12.1 ㎝로 나타났다. 파초일엽 자생지는 2011년 공개제한 지역으로 설정되었으나 낚시, 스쿠버행위 등 일부 행위가 허가됨에 따라 자생지의 훼손 발생가능성이 크므로 법의 엄격한 적용과 함께 문화재 보존을 위해 충분한 교육과 문화재에 대한 정확한 정보 전달이 이루어져야 할 것이다.

        붉바리(Epinephelus akaara) 종자생산 시 기형 발생에 의한 손실이 크지만 기형어에 대한 생물 학적 정보는 많지 않다. 본 연구에서는 부화 후 96일 붉바리 치어를 정상 그룹과 두 유형의 기 형 그룹(머리, 턱)으로 나누어 형태형성과 연관된 4개의 주요 유전자(insulin like growth factor 1: IGF-1, bone morphogenic protein 4: BMP4, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors γ: PPARγ, matrix Gla protein: MGP) 발현을 조사하였다. 각 그룹에서 뇌, 간 및 근육을 잘라낸 다 음 total RNA를 추출한 후 real-time PCR을 사용하여 유전자 발현 차이를 비교하였다(n=20). 부화 후 96일 붉바리 치어에서 IGF-1과 BMP4 유전자는 기형 그룹의 뇌와 간에서 정상 그룹과 비교하여 유의한 발현 차이를 나타냈다(p <0.05). 반면에 PPARγ와 MGP 유전자는 어떤 조직 에서도 정상 그룹과 기형 그룹 사이에 유의한 발현 차이를 보이지 않았다. IGF-1과 BMP4 유전 자는 치어 단계의 붉바리 기형 상태와 관련되어 있는 것으로 보인다.

        PURPOSES : The use of reclaimed aggregate has been recently increasing with the increase in the amount of waste asphalt concrete. The application of these materials can reduce the properties of the asphalt pavement when compared with the case when recycled aggregate is not used. The objective of this study is to evaluate the performance of the asphalt mixtures with various mix ratios of reclaimed aggregate. METHODS : To measure the performance, the following tests using the mixtures prepared in accordance with the Korea Standards were conducted: Hamburg wheel-tracking test, third-scale model mobile loading simulator test, and dynamic modulus test. RESULTS : The test results of the Hamburg wheel-tracking test indicate that the water resistance was similar in each mixture and the plastic deformation resistance was good in the high-ratio reclaimed aggregate mixture. In the case of the third-scale model mobile loading simulator test, the plastic deformation demonstrated a high resistance in the high-ratio reclaimed aggregate mixture. The results were similar to those of the Hamburg wheel-tracking test; however, the cracking resistance was poor with a high recycled aggregate incorporation ratio. The dynamic modulus test results demonstrated excellent resistance to plastic deformation at a relatively high ratio of reclaimed aggregate admixture. The crack resistance was weakened when a high ratio of reclaimed aggregate mixture was used. CONCLUSIONS: As the reclaimed aggregate content increased, the plastic deformation resistance increased and the crack resistance decreased.
