        PURPOSES : This study focuses on how quickly emergency alarm facilities recognize a fire, respond to evacuation behavior, and induce appropriate behavior in response to the fire alarm sound by listening to the fire alarm sound from a sound device. METHODS : Prior research on alarm sounds affecting evacuation behavior was identified, and a subjective evaluation of alarm sounds was conducted to study the most appropriate evacuation-inducing behavior for alarm sounds. In the event of a fire, a subjective evaluation of the sound pressure level and frequency analysis of the sound system, which affects the occupants in the building, were conducted to analyze the type of alarm sound and evacuation behavior. RESULTS : As a result of the subjective evaluation of the occupants’ listening risk, there was little cognitive response to the change in sound pressure level according to frequency. It was found that the alarm sound could give a sense of crisis or tension owing to the difference in sound pressure level change according to the change in time difference. CONCLUSIONS : In conclusion, with high sound pressure and large decibel deviation, the evacuation behavior of respondents after education was more active in the wake-up call that made a sound that seemed to be torn.

        신뢰성 있는 토양의 이산요소모델을 개발하기 위해서는 토양의 특성을 고려하여 매개변수를 교정해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 이산요소모델을 구성하는 각 매개변수가 토양 입자의 거동에 미치는 영향을 분석하였고, 분석된 결과를 이용하여 토양의 이산요소모델을 개발하였다. 민감도 분석의 대상이 되는 매개변수는 전단 계수, 마찰 계수, 표면 에너지 등으로 선정하였으며, 교정의 기준이 되는 토양의 특성은 가비중, 안식각, 점착력 및 내부마찰각으로 선정하였다. 또한, 토성이 서로 다른 해안가, 논 및 밭을 구성하는 토양을 대상으로 연구를 수행하여 다양한 토성에 대한 적용성을 확인하였다. 결과적으로 본 연구에서 수행한 민감도 분석 결과를 이용하여 각 토양의 거동을 모사할 수 있는 이산요소모델을 교정하였으며, 시험 결과와의 비교를 통해 교정된 이산요소모델을 검증하였다.

        PURPOSES : This study aimed to analyze the primary maintenance procedures and safety inspection checklist characteristics for suspension bridges. The study referred to the current suspension bridge safety management manual and conducted an on-site safety inspection. By comparing and analyzing any missing or inadequate inspection and management procedures, the study identified major inspection and management areas requiring improvement, and proposed potential solutions. RESULTS : The study found that suspension bridges are currently inefficiently managed compared to other facilities subject to more rigorous maintenance and safety inspection. Therefore, maintenance and safety inspection procedures require improvement. CONCLUSIONS : For effective safety management and to reduce potential accident risk factors arising from negligent management, major improvements were suggested. Scientific maintenance and safety management could be achieved by incorporating enhancements into statutory requirements and improving management and inspection procedures. This long-term approach is likely to be more economical than the current methods, which lead to higher maintenance and repair costs and increased social costs from traffic accidents.

        PURPOSES : Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a cheaper and easier to installer fire suppressant than other extinguishing gases and is easy to install, but extinguishes fires by is suffocation. As a result, suffocation accidents continue to occur in facilities equipped with CO2 fire-extinguishing facilities, Emission standards have yet to be established. This study aims to address the issue. METHODS : To effectively remove CO2 emitted from installed systems, we reviewed and analyzed previous related research and existing international standards. RESULTS : In protected areas where CO2 fire-extinguishing systems are installed, emission facilities should discharge the emitted CO2 before it enters the protected spaces. CO2 sensors can determine whether safe entry is possible or whether respirators are required. CONCLUSIONS : This study presented a specific installation method for emission facilities capable of actively discharging CO2. Applying this method is expected to contribute to improving safety in facilities equipped with CO2 fire-extinguishing facilities.

        PURPOSES : This study aimed to secure the work space in alarm valve rooms to ensure stable working conditions for the engineers. METHODS : We analyzed situations where alarm valve room work spaces were inadequately secured posing a problem. Using the Ovako working posture analysis system (OWAS) method, we measured the body size of adult male technicians and their tools to analyze the actual space needed for them to maintain a healthy posture while working. On this basis, we proposed regulations governing workspace size and acceptable durations for unstable body postures. RESULTS : By measuring valve room work space and technician body size, we found that the workspace was inadequate for technicians. Applying OWAS showed that securing more space in the valve room improved the construction stability. CONCLUSIONS : Regulations on valve room size and appropriate work space for technicians will improve construction and inspection stability. This reduces the probability of poor construction and inadequate inspection, increasing the reliability of the firefighting facility system.

        PURPOSES : Sprinkler facilities play a crucial role in extinguishing fires in the early stages of a building blaze. Data indicate that more than 96% of fires are suppressed by sprinklers before growing out of control. However, corrosion and pitting of the sprinkler piping can reduce system performance as facilities age. The purpose of this study is to develop an eco-friendly water-soluble corrosion inhibitor to improve the reliability and longevity of sprinkler piping. METHODS : This study compared and analyzed silicate-based sprinkler piping shrinkage agents as corrosion inhibitor against existing commercial options. Tests were conducted to evaluate reactivity with fire extinguishing water, including electrolyzed reduced water and normal water. The anticorrosive performance of the silicate-based corrosion inhibitor was evaluated under various conditions to establish suitability before potential development or commercialization. RESULTS : The new corrosion inhibitor demonstrated eco-friendly performance. In testing, none of the primary four hazardous substances that pose the most risk of harm to the human body (specifically, arsenic (As), lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), and mercury (Hg)) were detected. The inhibitor effectively reduced corrosion of carbon steel (SPP), with weight loss rates averaging 0.12% and not exceeding 0.27%. For copper (CDA 110) weight loss rates were up to 0.03%. Testing under constant temperature and humidity conditions show that the inhibitor kept weight loss was below 0.002 g, with no significant numerical value for the weight loss rate. Overall, the results indicate the potential for an environmentally-safe corrosion inhibitor. CONCLUSIONS : The optimal silicate-based sprinkler system can provide real-time sensor information such as oxygen saturation, pH concentration, and total dissolved solids (TDS). These metrics are closely related to the aging process. By linking this system with an aging monitoring solution, maintenance costs and safety could be improved over the lifespan of the sprinkler system. The sensors and monitoring capabilities are expected to enhance maintenance efficiency and equipment reliability.

        PURPOSES : This study aims to propose drone-command standard operating procedure (SOP) guidelines and Analyze their potential application to increase the use and utility of drones in urban disaster situations. Although the effectiveness and efficiency of obtaining disaster-situation information through drones have been verified by previous studies and practical experience, a survey of actual drone usability indicated a utilization rate of only approximately 4.13%. METHODS : To provide guidance for improving drone command SOPs, prior research and relevant literature were reviewed to identify commonalities between disaster-response command and control and drone use. A sample of 73 active-duty firefighters, including incident commanders (ICs) and drone pilots, were surveyed and interviewed. The data were analyzed and categorized to establish the reasons why drones are not actively used in urban disaster-response procedures. RESULTS : The primary reasons identified for not actively utilizing drones in urban disaster areas were the lack of a drone command and control system and the lack of clear criteria for when to use drones in disaster situations. In addition, many problems were found in drone-operation procedures, including emergency flight approval, securing takeoff and landing sites, and accident burden due to urban flight obstacles. To address the issues identified, standards were proposed for the type, size, and scope of urban disasters requiring drone response; for accident-prevention on basic missions and through flight safety procedures; and for installing a video transmission and reception system to easily share drone video information with ICs. CONCLUSIONS : Application of the drone-command SOP guidelines to actual urban disaster situations by disaster type will help to improve the efficiency of information acquisition and flight safety. This is expected to enable increased drone utilization. In future, extension of the research reported in this paper beyond the Seoul metropolitan area via additional follow-up studies has the potential to establish applicability of the proposed SOP guidelines to a wide variety of environments and organizational characteristics.

        본 연구에서는 해양공간 통합관리 수단의 지원책으로 활용되는 해양공간 정책 시뮬레이터 기술에 대한 한국, 중국, 일본, 미국, 유럽 등 주요 5개국에 대한 정량분석을 위한 유효특허 1,474건을 도출하고, 연도별, 국가별 특허출원 동향 및 워드 클라우드 분석을 통해 국내 기술 경쟁력 및 국내·외 기술 트렌드를 파악하였다. 분석 결과 해양공간 정책 시뮬레이터 기술의 경우 중국(1,254건, 85.1%) 주도의 특허출원이 활발하게 이루어지고 있으며, 세부 기술별로는 어업환경 변화예측 및 활용 시뮬레이터(AC)가 392건(26.6%)으로 가장 높은 것 으로 나타난다. 핵심 키워드 변화를 통해 최근에는 다중 데이터의 수집과 데이터의 탐지, 예측, 평가 등으로 기술 트렌드가 이루어지고 있 음을 확인하였으며, 중국 주도의 시장 독과점 및 선점에 대비하기 위해 주변 기술에 대한 특허출원 고려 및 표준화 선점 등의 연계 전략 을 통한 대비와 정부 차원의 해양공간 정책 시뮬레이터 기술 연구개발에 대한 적극적인 정책적 지원이 필요함을 진단하였다.

        본 연구는 희귀난치 질환 자녀를 둔 가족의 생활 실태와 지원 욕구를 파악하여 지원방안을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2020년 기준 전국의 희귀난치 환아 가족 약 169천 명 중 할당표본추출(quota sampling) 을 통해 모집된 총 263명을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였다. 그 결과, 희귀 난치 환아 가족의 주양육자는 여성으로 자녀 돌봄 및 간병 비중이 높았 고, 치료비지출로 인한 경제적인 부담이 매우 높았다. 전체 삶의 질 평 균 및 삶의 질 하위요인 전반에서 보통 이하의 인식수준을 보였고, 교 육 현장이나 과정에서 자녀의 질병에 대한 인식과 대처 관련 어려움이 큼을 확인하였다. 희귀난치 질환 및 자녀의 재학 상태에 따른 인식수준 도 매우 낮은 수준이었다. 이런 실태에 근거하여 가족지원을 위한 다차 원적인 지원방안을 제언하였다.

        This study conducted an investigation into the effects of fruit type and cultivation practices (organic and conventional) on soil characteristics and soil arthropod communities within apple, blueberry, grape, peach, and pear orchards. The collection of soil arthropod communities was achieved through the utilization of pitfall traps, with concurrent measurements taken for soil moisture content, electrical conductivity, and temperature. The findings of this study unveiled substantial impacts attributed to fruit type and cultivation practices on soil characteristics. Specifically, within organic apple orchards, discernibly higher levels of soil moisture content, electrical conductivity, and temperature were observed when compared to their conventional counterparts. The investigation into soil arthropod communities yielded a total of 1,527 individuals, classified in to five phyla and 15 orders. The range of abundance, species richness, and diversity indices varied across conventional and organic orchards. Cultivation practices were found not to exert a significant influence on soil arthropod community characteristics. However, Non-metric Multidimensional Scaling (NMDS) analysis indicated a significant differentiation in soil arthropod community structure based on cultivation practices. This study underscores the importance of considering vegetation structure and environmental characteristics that may influence soil arthropod communities comprehensively when assessing the impact of cultivation practices on soil arthropods. Furthermore, it emphasizes the need to account for both the characteristics and structure of soil arthropod communities in understanding the implications of cultivation practices on these organisms.

        This study was conducted to analyze the effects of stand density on fire fuel (FF) changes in a Chamaecyparis obtusa forest. The study site was located in Mt. Munsu in Jeollabuk-do and consisted of a control, 30% thinning treatment (LT), and 50% thinning treatment (HT). Three-year-old seedlings were planted at a density of 3,000 trees ha-1 in 1976, and thinning was carried out in 2000. FF production was measured every 2 months by installing 3 circular litter traps 1.2 m above the ground. Litter bags containing 5 g of each leaf and branch were made and buried in the organic layer to investigate the FF decomposition rate. The decay constant was calculated after 18 months. FF accumulation was measured by collecting dry-weight organic matter from each plot using a square frame (0.09 m2) in September 2018. The FF production in LT and HT was significantly lower than that of the control (P<0.001). The leaf decay constant for HT was significantly lower than that of the control (P<0.05). The FF accumulation in HT was significantly lower than that of the control (P<0.01), but LT was not significantly different from the control. The results of this study showed that thinning decreased FF production.

METHODS : In deriving, estimating and determining risk factors, comparing the procedures presented by the ILO with the domestic guidline to find out the differences in procedural. and, According to the domestic manual, after setting the criteria for determining a deterministic perspective, analyze the risk assessment data of a specific domestic company and three overseas risk assessment research data to analyze the differences in methodology domestic and abroad. RESULTS : Within the country, there is a possibility that a deterministic view may be applied to all stages of procedure, and certain corporate data to the risk estimation and determination stage. In the case of overseas, the trend of applying deterministic perspectives to the risk determination stage was confirmed. CONCLUSIONS : Present the need for a standard model for improving deterministic methods in the other two stages, excluding risk determination in the domestic evaluation procedure.

        본 연구는 제5차 국가산림자원조사(2006-2010)에서 조사된 편백을 대상으로 흉고직경에 따른 수고 생장곡선식과 초기 수고생장 모델을 개발하여 편백의 초기 생장특성을 고려한 합리적인 산림경영계획 수립에 필요한 기초자료를 제공할 목적으로 실시하였다. 연구자료는 제5차 국가산림자원조사 자료 중 편백 표준목 353본에 대한 수고, 흉고직경, 연륜생장 자료를 이용하였다. 흉고직경에 따른 수고 생장곡선식은 Petterson 식, Log 식, Michailow 식을 이용하여 개발하였으며, 연령에 따른 초기 수고생장 모델은 Chapman-Richards 식, Gompertz 식, Schumacher 식을 이용하여 개발하였다. 본 연구 결과, 모델 검정을 통하여 흉고직경에 따른 수고 생장곡선식은 Petterson 식이 가장 적합한 것으로 나타났으며, 초기 수고생장 모델은 Gompertz 식이 가장 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 개발한 초기 수고생장 모델을 그래프로 나타낸 결과 편백은 13년생일 때 연간 수고생장량이 0.54m로 가장 많은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 편백의 생장 특성 관련 연구에 활용할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 초기의 편백 조림지에 대하여 합리적인 산림경영계획 수립에 유용한 기초자료가 될 것으로 기대된다.

        This study presents an analysis of bycatch data concerning Pacific white-sided dolphins (Lagenorhynchus obliquidens) along the Korean coast from 2016 to 2021. A total of 503 bycatches were examined, encompassing data on year, month, body length, sex, latitude (N), longitude (E), and fishing gear. Bycatch was the most frequent in waters with a longitude of less than 130°E, particularly in the southern coastal region at a latitude of 35.5°N, with a higher likelihood of bycatch in lower latitudes. Since 2017, a decreasing trend in bycatches has been observed. The sex distribution of bycaught dolphins showed a predominance of males (40%), followed by females (31%), with an unclassified category at 29%, though no statistically significant differences were found (p > 0.05). Seasonal analysis indicated that bycatch predominantly occurred during the winter months, with significant monthly variations (p < 0.01). Pacific white-sided dolphins were primarily ensnared in gill nets and, to a lesser extent, in stationary nets. Statistical analysis by gear type revealed a significant preference for gill nets (p < 0.001). Considering body length composition in relation to latitude, it is suggested that Pacific white-sided dolphins may utilize the southern waters of the East Sea as a potential nursery ground, though this was not confirmed at a significant level, emphasizing the need for further in-depth monitoring and ecological investigations. Given that there are approximately 27 different types of gill nets associated with the majority of bycatches, more detailed research is warranted to divide these gear types into finer subcategories for estimating bycatch relationships, ultimately leading to the development of effective conservation and management strategies.

        막대한 예산이 투입되는 국가연구를 기획·관리·확산하는 연구관리 담당자들은 매우 중요한 인력이나, 역할에 관한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구는 연구관리 전문기관 담당자에게 필요한 역량요소를 도출하고 역량의 중요도를 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 4가 지 주요요인과 16개의 하위요인을 도출하였고, AHP 기법을 기반으로 설문조사(연구관리 담 당자와 연구자 90명 대상)를 추진하여 우선순위를 도출하였다. 전체 응답자 기준으로 역량의 중요도는 협력적 태도, 소통능력, 연구지식, 목표관리능력과 신의성실 순으로 확인되었으나, 담당자의 경우, 업무와 관련한 역량(규정지식, 판단능력, 정책지식)이 중요하다고 보는 반면, 연구자들의 경우 자신들을 보다 더 지원해 줄 수 있는 역량(협력적 태도, 소통능력)을 보다 더 중시하는 시각차를 볼 수 있었다. 이번 연구는 전문기관 연구관리 담당자의 채용과 역량 개발에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
