        The family Gelechiidae (Lepidoptera: Gelechioidea) is known as one of the largest families in Microlepidoptera, encompassing about 600 genera and more than 5,000 described species worldwide. However, the genus Altenia Sattler, 1960 has been poorly studied in Korea, with only one known species. Here we introduce a new species, Altenia parascriptella sp. nov., from Korea, providing photos of adults and genitalia for both sexes, along with diagnostic characteristics.

        이 서평의 대상은 조선시대 한국 한자음을 다룬 난정 남광우 선생의 󰡔조선(이 조) 한자음 연구󰡕이다. 이 책은 총 6장으로 구성되어 있으며, 다양한 방법론을 활용하여 한국 한자음을 다루었다. 이 책의 가장 큰 특징은 현재 일반화된 성운학의 분석 틀에 의 지하지 않았다는 점에 있다. 이로 인해 책의 구성이나 설명 방법 등이 다른 한자음 연구 와는 차별화된 모습을 보인다. 한국 한자음 연구의 초창기에 나온 이 책은 한자음 연구사 에 있어서 중요한 의미를 가진다.

        Lilium dauricum is a rare and endangered species belonging to the family Liliaceae. The species contains several bioactive compounds used as functional foods and medicinal agents in Northeast Asia. This study aimed (1) to establish an in vitro bulblet culture using an air-lift bioreactor and callus culture for the conservation of L. dauricum and obtaining its bioactive compounds; (2) investigate the plant phenolic compounds from both cultures system. The highest bulblet production with 12.5-fold increase in growth rate was obtained using MS medium supplemented with 0.5 g L-1 BA and 3% sucrose. Addition of 7% sucrose facilitated bulblet enlargement, with approximate 2.5- and 7-fold increases in diameter and fresh weight, respectively. The highest rate of callus (100%) was obtained using a combination of 1.0 mg L-1 picloram and 0.5 mg L-1 Kinetin. The callus proliferation occurred on MS medium supplemented with 1.0 mg L-1 picloram, 0.25 mg L-1 kinetin, and 0.25 g L-1 casein hydrolysate. There was a significant difference in the total phenolic compound content of callus, which was 1.5-fold higher than that in the bulblets. These findings indicate a suitable system for optimizing both bulblet and callus culture of L. dauricum, therefore, providing useful bio-materials for industrial purposes and contributing to the conservation of this species.

        The bond property is mightily important in asphalt construction site as overlay, post-cutting overlay and new establishment of asphalt pavement. If the bonding between the lower and upper pavements isn't approriately applied, the slipping phenomenon can happen due to the tensile stress and shear stress. It can resultantly take the forms of the rutting, failure and other damages. Moreover, the greater damage phenomenon from the intense reflection cracking can be generated when the appropriate methods regarding the cracks or failures on the lower pavement aren't conducted and the bonding with its pavements isn't properly applied. In this regard, the researched content on the existing research is shown below. The types of asphalt emulsion applied to the pavement construction site are classified as Tack-Coat and Prime-Coat in South Korea. The application purpose of Tack-Coat is to bond the pavements comprised of the rigid material. And the application objective of Prime-Coat is to attach the layers consisting the disturbed materials. The best performance related to the optimum application rates depends on the type or property of the emulsified asphalt materials. To solve these phenomenons, the various researches have been globally done. The test methods to obtain the optimum application rates of the asphalt emulsion vary in different organizations or countries. The objective of this research is to develop the tester for Tack-Coat bonding property in accordance with the standards and circumstances of the pavement construction in South Korea. In the nation, the application rate of Tack-Coat is presented as 0.3 l/m2 ~ 0.6 l/m2 in the construction specification and pavement design guideline published in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), but there aren't the specific suggestions. And, it depends on the superintendents or the ordering bodies in the construction sites. In that regard, the objectives of this paper are listed below. First, Suggestion of the test methods regarding the Interlayer Shear Strength in accordance with the domestic construction conditions and standards. Second, Development of the tester for conducting various tests using a tester. Last, Development of the predictive model for the optimum application rates of the emulsified asphalt.

        본 논문의 출발은 남북전쟁 기간 휘트먼의 병원 체험이 시인 자신은 물론 분열된 미국을 치유하는데 중요한 역할을 했다는 사실을 조명하는데 있다. “남과 북은 가장 중요한 하나의 거대한 병원이었다”(North and South was one vast central hospital)라는 휘트먼의 언급에서 단적으로 드러나듯 전쟁의 진실을 가장 잘 드러내는 병원 풍경은 시인의 상상력의 정수로 자리 잡고 있었다. 무엇보다 휘트먼의 병원 체험은 그의 삶을 통해 “가장 중요한 교훈”이 되었다. 여러 병원에서 자원 간호사로 활동했던 그의 경험은 『북소리』(Drum-Taps), 『전쟁 기간의 비망록』(Memoranda During the War) 등에 수록된 많은 시와 산문을 통해 선명하게 나타난다. 이 작품을 통해 휘트먼은 여성적이며 동시에 모성적인 속성과 긴밀히 연관된 시인-간호사의 역할을 수행하고 있음을 여실히 보여준다. 「상처를 치료하는 자」(“The Wound-Dresser”)라는 시는 그 대표적 예이다. 시인은 부상병들을 치유하는 “어루만지는 자석 같은 손길”(magnetic touch of hands)을 지닌 중년의 여성 간호사야말로 군병원에 가장 잘 부합된다는 사실을 그 만의 독특한 시선을 통해 역설한다. 고통으로 신음하는 부상병들로 가득한 병원의 풍경은 휘트먼에게 일평생 지대한 영향을 미쳤다. 휘트먼은 “단순한 병원 스케치를 뛰어 넘는 어떤 것”을 담아낸 작품을 씀으로써 우리에게 전쟁의 진실을 왜곡 없이 전하고자 했다. 이는 “간호는 내게 종교였다”라는 그의 언급에서 극명하게 드러난다. 중요한 점은 고통스러운 병원 체험을 집약하고 있는 ‘경련’(convulsiveness)이란 단어는 그의 심리적 상처, 곧 트라우마의 전형을 보여준다는 사실이다. 시인은 ‘경련’에 대해 글을 쓰는 것이야 말로 반복되는 고통의 기억과 꿈으로부터 개인적이고 동시에 집단적인 치유를 가능하게 한다고 보았다. 이와 관련해 “언어적 이야기의 부재”를 특징으로 하는 외상 기억과 외상성 꿈은 대개 “생생한 감각과 이미지”의 형상으로 재현된다는 사실은 주목할 만하다. 휘트먼의 「오래 전의 전쟁—꿈」(“Old War-Dreams”), 「포병의 환상」(“The Artilleryman’s Vision”), 『표본이 되는 날들』(Specimen Days)의 여러 전쟁 섹션 등의 시와 산문은 그 대표적인 예가 된다. 이렇듯 ‘경련’에 대한 글쓰기는 궁극적으로 시인에게 내재한 종교적 의미를 일깨움으로써 “진정한 앙상블과 미국의 규모에 대한 그의 가장 열렬한 시각”을 낳게 했다.

        Recently, the use of thermal conductive polymeric composites is growing up, where the polymers filled with the thermally conductive fillers effectively dissipate heat generated from electronic components. Therefore, the management of heat is directly related to the lifetime of electronic devices. For the purpose of the improvement of thermal conductivity of composites, fillers with excellent thermally conductive behavior are commonly used. Thermally conductive particles filled polymer composites have advantages due to their easy processibility, low cost, and durability to the corrosion. Especially, carbon-based 1-dimensional nanomaterials such as carbon nanotube (CNT) and carbon nanofiber (CNF) have gained much attention for their excellent thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance and low thermal expansion coefficient than the metals. This paper aims to review the research trends in the improvement of thermal conductivity of the carbon-based materials filled polymer composites.

        In order to investigate 95% retained critical current of Bi-2223/Ag tapes under various stress-strain conditions, load cell attached tension and bending apparatus was used. The critical current of stress-strained tape was degraded below 95% retained critical current when tension and bending was simultaneously applied together. But only one of this tension or bending did not degrade the tape below 95% retained critical current. Deformation temperature was important to maintain the 95% retained Ic of Bi-2223/Ag tapes after bending or tension deformation because mechanical strength of tapes can be changed drastically between room temperature and 77 K.

        Cube textured Ni substrate were fabricated for YBCO coated conductors from the initial specimens prepared by powder metallurgy (P/M) and casting and the effects of annealing temperature and reduction ratio on texture formation and microstructural evolution were evaluated. The initial specimens were rolled and then annealed in the temperature at . A strong cube texture formed for P/M substrate, and the degree of texture did not significantly vary with annealing temperature of . On the other hand, the texture of casting substrate was more dependent on the annealing temperature and twin texture and several minor texture components started to form at .

        We fabricated YBCO film using a TFA-MOD method. In order to enhance the reaction kinetics and to control the formation of the second phases, and powders were used as precursors (the so called "211 process"). The films were calcined at and then fired at in a 12.1% humidified atmosphere. We found that the microstructure varied significantly with the firing temperature. The textures of all of the films were similar and mainly biaxial. For the film fired at , the critical current was obtained to be 39 A/cm-width (corresponding critical current density is 2.0 MA/).

        We fabricated Bi-2212/ composite superconductors and evaluated the effects of the powder mixing method and melting temperature on their microstructure and superconducting properties. The Bi-2212 powders were mixed with by hand-mixing (HM) and planetary ball milling (PBM) and then the powder mixtures were melted at , solidified, and annealed. We found that the powder mixture prepared by PBM was finer and more homogeneously mixed than that prepared by HM, resulting in more homogeneous microstructure and smaller and second phases after annealing.

        This experiment was to investigate whether the mitochondria function assessment can be used for the prediction of sperm fertility through examining the correlation between mitochondria fluoromicroscopic frequency of frozen-thawed eight Hanwoo bull semen using rhodamine123 (R123) and in vitro embryo development following fertilization. Individual sperm were stained in 5ug/mL R123-added calcium-free Sp-TALP for 30 min at 0 h, 6 h, 12 h and 24 h after thawing and examined their mid-piece under an epifluorescence microscope using 495 nm excitation filter (x1,000). Three replications were taken, and at least 300 sperm per individual were examined. When semen samples were separated into two groups (good and poor) by sperm motility and fluorescent frequencies at just after thawing, average fluorescent frequencies were remarkably reduced as time going (0 h; 53.29~72.94%, 6 h; 21.40~58.90%, 12 h; 8.26~25.93%, 24 h; 1.00~13.78%, irrespective of selected group, and there were no differences at 6 h or 12 h after thawing between selected groups but indicated significant difference at 24 h after thawing (p<0.05). In vitro fertilization rates in good and poor groups ranging 70.8~77.8% and 52.1~84.5%, respectively, were not significantly different. However, in vitro development rates of the same groups ranging 25.7~40.0% and 12.9~1.8%, respectively, were significant different (p<0.05). These results demonstrate that mitochondria fluoromicroscopic assessment of frozen-thawed bovine sperm may be used as a criterion to select more fertile sperm.
