It has been reported that primary school students have difficulties in the reading process and their interests and achievement in reading is low, in spite of the various methods that have been introduced. This study aims to examine the reading approaches at the primary school level. To achieve this purpose, the primary English curriculum and textbooks were analyzed in order to explore the approaches that were adopted for primary English reading. The textbooks were analyzed in two aspects: the selection of words and the teaching methods for reading. The data revealed that the curriculum looked well-structured according to the developmental stages of reading, but that the textbooks did not facilitate reading for early readers. Although the reading text increased gradually from the letter to the sentence level, the words in each unit were not organized to help readers recognize the text efficiently which impinged on the students’ reading comprehension. Since words at each unit were selected meaning-based, students had to memorize them as a unitary whole. On the other hand, it was rare to find words structured on the basis of letter-sound relations between words. This lack of structure prevented students from recognizing the alphabetic principles of English. As a result, the textbooks did not consider the bottom-up skills at all in its development process. Therefore, students failed to acquire the basic principles of alphabetic language in the early reading stage. Some suggestions for curriculum and textbook development are presented in the end.

수원시 이목동에 있는 원예연구소의 사과원에서 조사한 1958년부터 1998년까지 자료를 바탕으로 사과응애와 점박이응애의 역사적 발생변동 과정을 추적하였다. 1970년까지는 사과응애가 우점하였고 1980년 이후에는 점박이응애로 우점종이 바뀌었으며, 그 변화는 1970년 중반을 전후로 나타났다. 이러한 변화를 설명하기 위하여 3가지 가정, 즉 첫째, 두 종의 경쟁에서 점박이응애가 승리한다. 둘째, 과원의 초생은 점박이응애의 수상이동 여부를 결정하는 중요한 요소이다, 즉 초생이 파괴되었을 때 점박이응애의 수상이동이 촉진된다. 셋째, 과원생태계가 교란되지 않을 때 응애류는 천적에 의하여 개체군 밀도가 조절된다 하에 약제살포(고독성 비선택적 약제 처리 및 선택적 저독성 약제처리)와 초생관리(초생재배 및 청경재배=제초제 살포)에 따른 두 종의 장기적 상호작용 결과를 추정하였다. 고독성 농약/초생재배 시스템에서는 점박이응애의 수상이동이 제한되어 사과응애는 경쟁을 피할 수 있고, 또한 천적상이 파괴되기 때문에 전 생육기간 동안 사과응애가 우점한다. 고독성 농약/청경재배 시스템에서는 계절초기부터 점박이응애가 수상으로 이동하여 사과응애를 경쟁적으로 배제시킴으로써 점박이응애가 우점한다. 저독성 농약/초생재배 시스템에서는 점박이응애의 수상이동이 제한되어 사과응애가 우점하지만 천적의 작용으로 높은 밀도를 형성하지 못한다. 저독성 농약/청경재배 시스템에서는 점박이응애가 수상으로 이동하여 사과응애와 경쟁하지만 천적의 작용으로 밀도가 낮아져서 경쟁압력이 낮아지므로 생육후기 사과응애의 발생이 가능하다. 따라서 계절초기 사과응애, 계절후기 점박이응애가 우점하는 형태로 공존할 수 있다. 본 자료에서 제시한 점박이응애 우점화 현상은 부분적으로 고독성 농약/청경재배 시스템 상태에서 두 종의 장기적 상호작용의 결과로 설명될 수 있었다. CAD를 이용하여 살펴보고자 한 것이다. 연구방법으로는 가장 일반적인 실로 묶기, 전통적인 손바느질 느낌이 나는 시침질, 현대적 느낌이 강한 깡통에 의한 묶기와 기하학적 효과가 나는 접기 등의 홀치기염색 기법으로 수작업 한 다음 CAD를 이용하였다 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 홀치기염색기법에 의해 제작된 패턴을 모티브로 하여 수작업에서 얻지 못하는 다색사용가능성이 주�

이 연구에서는 낙도보조항로의 운영실태와 발달과정에 대하여 정리하였다. 낙도보조항로는 14개 사업자가 U개 항로에서 총 30척 선박으로 낙도주민을 위한 안정적인 생활교통편의를 제공하고 있다. 항로별 수송실적을 분석한 결과, 낙도보조 항로를 이용하는 여객 수가 매년 증가하고 있다. 선박 이용자의 서비스 만족도를 향상시키기 위해서 운영사업체별로 경영평가제를 도입하는 등 보다 구조적인 변화가 요구된다. 이 연구의 결과들은 낙도보조항로 중장기 발전방향 수립에 기초 자료로 활용하는 데 그 의미가 있다.

신제품의 개발에 있어서 고객이 기대하는 품질과 신뢰성을 보증하는 것은 특별히 중요한 사항이다. 제품의 신뢰성과 수명은 개발에서 최우선으로 고려해야 할 목표이며, 이를 위해 신뢰성공학의 응용기술은 신제품개발에 있어서 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 신뢰성이론을 적용하여 제품의 개발단계에 있어서 신뢰성목표 설정에서 부터 예측, 검증, 그리고 분석에 이르는 실제적인 응용에 대한 총괄적인 사항들을 보여주는데 있다. 본 논문에서는 신뢰성과 유효수명에 대한 사양결정과 예측 및 분석에 응용할 수 있는 방법들이 설명되어 있으며, 이는 제품과 부품을 개발하기 위한 신뢰성프로그램을 설립하고 시행하기 위해 가장 적합한 접근방법을 보여주고 있다.

Nuclear factor 1 (NFI) was discovered as a protein required for adenovirus DNA replication in vitro, but it is now clear that NFI protein plays an important role in the expression of many cellular genes. NFI-C null mice demonstrated aberrant odontoblast differentiation, abnormal dentin formation, and thus molar lacking roots while other tissues/or gans in the body, including ameloblasts appear to be unaffected and normal. However, little is known about the mechanism of NFI -C function in odontoblast differentiation and dentin formation. In this study, in order to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of odntoblast differentiation, we examined morphological characteristics of the aberrant odontoblast in NFI-C null mice. we also evaluate the expression of dentin sialophosphoprotein (DSPP) and bone sialoprotein (BSP) mRNAs in the MDPC-23 cells by northern analysis after over-expression and inactiγation of NFI -C into mouse MDPC-23 cells Odontoblasts of the NFI-C null mouse were round in shape, lost their polarity, organized as a sheet of cells, and trapped in osteodentin-like mineralized tissue. Abnormal odontoblasts of NFI-C null mouse revealed the absence of an intercellular junctional complex known as the t erminal webs. MDPC-23 cells started to express DSPP mRNA beginning from the postnatal day of 14 and showed a steady increase as differentiating into odontoblasts. Over-expression of NFI -C increased the expression of DSPP mRNA. Inactivation of NFI - C induced BSP mRNA expression. These results suggest that NFI-C plays an important role in odontoblast differentiation in a cell-type specific manner and thus in dentin formation

The purposes of this study are to review some practical experiences in multi-agency collaboration efforts for the juvenile delinquents in U.S. and to make policy implications, practice for a better multi-agency collaboration system in Korea. Based on these findings, this study suggests multi-agency collaboration for the juvenile delinquents in the juvenile justice process in Korea as follows: First, Goverment should legislate for multi-agency collaboration in the juvenile justice process, establish collaboration system and juvenile correctional center. Second, Collaboration managers or coordinator should be trained so that they can play a variety of professional roles in managing collaboration programs and developed the various programs. Third, The supporting organizations such as goverment, enterprises, schools, social welfare agency, united way, voluntary agency or group, community should be developed and, furthermore, supporting thing such as juvenile justice information resources, financial, technical assistance to enhance the capacity of those correctional institutions.

낙엽활엽수림 개벌 후 벌채지에서 주연부 식생구조 발달과정을 규명하기 위하여 서울대학교 농업생명과학대학 부속 남부연습림 내 백운산지 역 제26임반 벌채적지를 대상지로 선정하였다. 1994년에 두 개의 모니터링 조사구를 설치하였고, 1994년, 1997년, 1999년에 식생조사를 실시하였다. 벌채 후 6년간 주연부식생 변화는 다음과 같다. 시간이 경과함에 따라 산림주연부에서 경쟁력이 우수한 수종은 병꽃나무, 비목나무, 국수나무, 산초나무 등이었고, 산림주연부와 인접한 조사구에서 경쟁력이 우수한 수종은 고추나무, 비목나무, 덜꿩나무 등이었으며, 벌채지 산림내부에서 경쟁력이 우수한 수종은 병꽃나무, 비목나무, 생강나무등으로 나타났다. 두개의 모니터링 조사구에서 주연부 천이단 계상 우세종은 방위와 국지저 위치, 기존 우점수종에 따라 차이를 나타내었다. 벌채 후 경과년도에 따라 각 벌채지 산림 주연부에서 벌채지 산림내부로 거리가 멀어질수록 유사도지수도 낮아지는 경향을 나타내었고, 종다양도지수, 종수, 개체수 및 수관피도는 벌채지 산림주연부에서 벌채지 산림내부로 갈수록 감소하였다.

Four different mechanical alloying(MA) processes were employed to fabricate very fine intermetallic compound particles dispersed Al composite materials(MMC) with Al-4at.%Zr composition. Phase transformations including phase stability during MA and heat treatment processes were investigated. Part of Zr atoms were dissolved into Al matrix and part of them reacted with hydrogen produced by decomposition of PCA(methanol) to form hydride during first MA process. These hydrides disappeared when alloy powders were heat treated at . Stable dispersoids with structure were formed by heat treating the mechanically alloyed powders at . On the other hand, metastable dispersoids with structure were formed during first MA of powers with Al-25at.%Zr composition. These metastable dispersoids transformed to stable with structure when heat treated above .

Periodontalligament (PDL) fibroblasts have an ectomesenchymal origin and are known to participate not only in formation of PDL but also in the repair and regeneration of the a이acent alveolar bone and cementum. However, little is known about the molecular mechanism which is related to the development and differentiation of PDL cells. Recendy, we reported the PDLs (a periodontalligament-specific) 22 as a PDL fibroblast-specific mRNA which is not expressed in gingival fibroblasts. In this study, to examine the expression and functional characterization of PDμ22 mRNA and prαein in development and differentiation of periodontal 따sue ， we carried out northem analysis, insitu hybridization, immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry. The expression of PDLs22 mRNA was increased with PDL cell differentiation from the confluent to multilayer stage but decreased slighdy with mineralized nodule formation in vitro. πle PDLs22 protein was localized on the nuclear membrane and expressed throughout the differentiation of PDL fibroblasts in vitro. The PDLs22 mRNA and protein were expressed in the differentiating cementoblasts, PDL fibroblasts and osteoblasts along the r∞t surface and alveolar bone of the developing rat teeth. These results indicate that the PDLs22 plays an irnportant role in the differentiation of cementoblasts and osteoblasts and thus homeostasis of cementum, PDL and alveolar bone.

This paper attempts to analyze and prove Yeats' gradual acceptance of the middle class and the people's democracy of South Ireland, just liberated from England. He always struggled against the Irish Catholic bourgeoisie and their practical and political nationalism during his lifetime for realizing his ideal vision of Ireland embodying the “Unity of Being”; he dreamed to establish a culturally aristocratic nation keeping order not by forced law and power but by imagination and desire of self-transcendence, while South Ireland pursued practical interests and became a theocracy. After burning his “rage and lust” against the mass culture of post-colonial Catholic Ireland, Yeats began to admit Catholic Ireland as it was with the perspective of the poetic transcendence, “tragic joy.” His recognition of the Catholic middle class at the end of his life is considered for attaining the sense of unity with Irish people, which was essential to his vision of nation. This paper traces his changing attitudes toward the middle class, especially focusing on such poems as “The Municipal Gallery Revisited,” “The Statues,” “Circus Animal's Desertion,” and “Cuchulain Comforted.”

This was aim to study the changes of components by different parts and maturity of tomato. Tomato include the green pigment chlorophyll, the yellow pigment-carotene. the red pigment lycopene and the other component. These colors of tomatoes are reported to have important functional roles to promote health in human. The main objective of this study was to define changes in the content of the four tomato maturation that is ascorbic acid, chlorophyll, carotene, lycopene. A ascorbic acid contents of tomato fruits was the highest at 50th day. Chlorophyll contents of tomatoes fruits was the highest at 10th days after flowering. α-carotene contained low-quantity while all growth period. β-carotene contained the highest at 50th days after flowering, 1036.97μg. Lycopene contained the highest at 50th days after flowering, 5800μg.

This was aim to study the changes of components by different parts and maturity of tomato. We found that orally fed tomatine which induced a significant reduction in cholesterol in hamster in contrast to potato glycoalkaloids, the safety of tomatine was supported by our observation that pickled green tomatoes consumed widely in many countries has a high tomatine content. The tomatoes harvested during the first stage(10 days after flowering) contained tomatine 6333.49μg per 100g and dohydrotomatine and α-tomatine in a ratio of about 1:13.8. The tomatine content then decreased by about 85% during stage 2(20 days after flowering) an dehydrotomatine contene dropped to a value near zero during stage 3, 4 It on the tomatine content dropped to a value near zero during the final stage(50 days after flowering). With respect to health benefits at all stages of maturity, unripe tomato contain chlorophyll and α-tomatine should consumed.

Facing the 7th National Curriculum revision, this study aims to suggest the ideas for the curriculum design for the second foreign languages education. For this purpose, the theoretical analysis of curriculum theory and examination into commentaries, guidebooks, training materials and curriculum documents related to the foreign languages education are carried out. The theoretical analyses carried in the study are as follows: The analysis of curriculum objectives and contents for foreign languages education in terms of the findings and implications the existing researches suggested is carried and so the current issues and major ideas are identified. The contents analysis for the foreign languages education implemented in foreign countries is carried and so the future directions for curriculum objectives and contents of the second foreign languages education in Korea are suggested. The major suggestions are made through above analysis as follows: The differentiation of the subjects for the second foreign languages education by the curriculum objectives and contents is required. Whether the oral language communicative competence focused or the written language communicative competence focused should be considered in establishing the curriculum objectives and contents. The curriculum objectives and contents are required to state clearly and effectively. The directions for culture education are required to change and the contents for culture education are required to be reorganized systematically.
