        Quality function deployment(QFD) is becoming a widely used customer oriented approach. The aim of this paper is to present an analytic method of quality function deployment that is to maximize customer satisfaction, using a customer satisfaction survey conducted in the college in Korea. Combining weights and satisfaction indices, "performance/important" diagrams are to develop and this grid can be used in order to identify priorities for decision making. Also, this paper shows a 0-1 integer programming model for maximizing customer satisfaction subject to a budget constraint in QFD planning process with case study.

        Kano model offers an effective way to understand customer requirements strategically Thus, the integration of Kano model and QFD can reflect customer requirements more effectively in designing new product. Most of previous studies on the integration have been focused customer attributes, but engineering characteristics are used at the final stage of new product design. It is proposed that how to classify engineering characteristics into Kano's elements and how to use the classified results in new product development process in this thesis. A case example is included to explain the proposed method.

        Modern management considers customer satisfaction as a baseline standard of performance and a possible standard of excellence for any business organization including the college. Quality function deployment(QFD) is a structured approach to seek out voice of customers, understanding their needs, and ensure that their needs are met. The strategy value proposed by Chien et al. combines importance, satisfaction, performance, and ability to enhance decision making effectiveness. But in their model, the correlation among the strategic alternatives isn't considered the decision chain and is therefore eliminated. This paper proposes how to calculate the new weight of columns to consider various strength levels of correlations matrix, representing the correlation among the strategic alternatives, using normalization procedure. The aim of this paper is to present and original customer satisfaction survey conducted in the college. Thus, this paper presents an original customer satisfaction survey in the college and provides to demonstrate the practical usage of the design model to compare this model with Chien's model.

        Forklift achieves transportation of freight and continues loading and unloading work repeatedly long for hours in industry spot. Therefore, drivers feel tired make a mistake for wrong operation of vehicle caused by continuous work. These components are resulted in CTDs, some industrial accident. That is the forklift need to ergonomics access. So, in this paper, requirements of forklift user were abstracted using questionnaire, produced important design factor for pedal and lever using QFD(Quality Function Deployment), and then suggested ergonomic considerations for industrial accident prevention.

        Translating the "Voice of Customer" into business process is critical for developing products, services, and marketing programs that satisfy customers. Quality Function Deployment(QFD) is a technique which was born in Japan as a strategy for assuring that quality is built into new products. QFD was first used in 1972 by Kobe Shipyard of Mitsubish Heavy Industrials Ltd and was then referred to as the quality tables. After QFD is proposed, it has been applied by both many large and small companies around the world. Many studies related QFD are performed till now but study related "cost-based QFD(QFCD)" hasn't been performed actively. If cost-based QFD is not performed, the produced results will be included possibility that is not significant as well as realistic. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to improve effectiveness and efficiency for product development's result through QFD by introducing QFCD's concept, performance procedure and developed QFCD Software.

        The goal of this paper is to offer a quantitative decision model using Quality Function Deployment(QFD). We consider the factors outsourcing that affect the benefits of the organization and the fifth alternatives that were selected to be considered for outsourcing as customer requirements and technical attributes in QFD. For selecting the outsourcing system, we compute the priority considering interdependencies among alternatives. Thus this paper propose a decision model, which uses the quality function deployment to help practitioners set priority and users in structuring the outsourcing problems.

        We achieved a Quantitative economic growth through rapid developed in 1970' and 1980'. It was confronted after IMF crisis that we needed to improve the past economic policy and the industrial structure. In line of that, the problem of the industrial structure like huge accidents of 1990' converted the recognition of safety. And to improve the conversion, the research of a safety management was needed. In this paper, we thought 4M1E(Man, Machine, Method, Material, Environment) as the cause of accident using the principal of process, assuming that output is accident. Applying 4M1E to the structure of QFD(Quality Function Deployment), we propose the safety function deployment, which has the flow line as followed; demand safety, safety characteristic, direct cause, 4M1E and safety management.

        In the era of customer satisfaction(CS), managers in the service industry have been using new strategies and a new reinforcement of service quality in order to increase their competitiveness. In this paper, the Service-QFD model is based on SERVQUAL and Quality Function Deployment models. The service quality in each stage of service delivery process is measured by SERVQUAL model and the relationship is represented by the QFD model. We propose the effective model that is consistent with preference of users considering of weighting scale, which seriously affects technical importance rating.

        Initially, QFD (Quality Function Deployment) was introduced in 1972 to help design supertanker in Mitsubish"s shipyards in Kob, Japan and formally defined by the American Supplier Institute in 1987 as a system for translating consumer requirements into appropriate company requirements at every stage, from research, through product design and development, to manufacture, distribution, installation, and marketing, sales and services. Although QFD has complex and tedious procedure to complete, since 1972, it has now been used by Japanese, American, and European because of its fruitful merits. The objective of this paper is to provide and analyze the trend on the viewpoint of efficient value engineering of field workers using QFD technique as an value engineering approach. The data are collected by questionnaires. The samples for this study are chosen from 13 companies in Korea during 2 months (2002. 7 ~ 2002. 8). The results of this study will play an important role not only for the efficient value engineering but also for preparing of life cycle cost analysis.

        In this paper, the QFD(quality function deployment) technique is used to acquire the quality requirements of package software which is sold in a commercial software shop. To select the principal quality characteristics of package software, an user survey was conducted for a quality model developed based on the international standards and the previous research. The software user is divided into three groups:the general user, the expert, and the developer. The method of QFD is applied to choose the software quality attributes which have strong correlation with the selected quality characteristics.
