        Al-Mg-Si alloys are light weight and have excellent corrosion resistance, and are attracting attention as a liner material for high-pressure hydrogen containers in hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Because it has excellent plastic hardening properties, it is also applied to car body panel materials, but it is moderate in strength, so research to improve the strength by adding Si-rich or Cu is in progress. So far, the authors have conducted research on the intergranular fracture of alloys with excessive Si addition from the macroscopic mechanical point of view, such as specimen shape. To evaluate their impact tensile properties, the split-Hopkinson bar impact test was performed using thin plate specimens of coarse and fine grain alloys of Al-Mg-X (X = Cr,Si) alloy. The effect of the shape of the specimen on the characteristics was studied through finite element method (FEM) analysis. As a result, it was found that the intergranular fracture of the alloy with excessive Si depended on the specimen width (W)/grain size (d), which can be expressed by the specimen size and grain size. As W/d decreases, the intergranular fracture transforms into a transgranular fracture. As the strain rate increases, the fracture elongation decreases, and the fracture surface of the intergranular fracture becomes more brittle. It was confirmed that intergranular fracture occurred in the high strain rate region even in materials with small grain sizes.

        Nano-oxide dispersion–strengthened (ODS) superalloys have attracted attention because of their outstanding mechanical reinforcement mechanism. Dispersed oxides increase the material’s strength by preventing grain growth and recrystallization, as well as increasing creep resistance. In this research, atomic layer deposition (ALD) was applied to synthesize an ODS alloy. It is useful to coat conformal thin films even on complex matrix shapes, such as nanorods or powders. We coated an Nb-Si–based superalloy with TiO2 thin film by using rotary-reactor type thermal ALD. TiO2 was grown by controlling the deposition recipe, reactor temperature, N2 flow rate, and rotor speed. We could confirm the formation of uniform TiO2 film on the surface of the superalloy. This process was successfully applied to the synthesis of an ODS alloy, which could be a new field of ALD applications.

        본 연구는 대승불교 경전인 『유마경』과 『승만경』에 나타난 여성관에 대하여 비교 고찰하고 여성에 대한 사상, 가치관과 위치를 탐구하고자 한 다. 『유마경』은 보살도의 실천이 대승불교 수행정신의 핵심을 강조하면서 세속의 적극적인 참여와 재가불교의 이상을 펼치고 중생의 평등적 깨달 음에 주목한다. 반면, 『승만경』은 여성의 깨달음의 가능성을 강조하며, 여래장(如來藏)사상을 담고 있다. 특히 승만 부인이 주인공으로 등장하여 여성의 적극적인 종교참여와 불교 내 여성의 역할과 여성도 남성과 동등 하게 깨달음을 얻을 수 있음을 보여준다. 본 연구는 두 경전에서 나타난 대승불교에서의 여성의 역할과 위치가 어떻게 다루어지고 있는지를 살펴보았고, 여성에 대한 긍정적인 시각과 그 시각이 현대 사회에서 여성의 지위 향상에 기여하는 방법을 탐색해 보았다. 그들 경전이 여성에 대한 전통적인 관념을 타파하고 성의 차별 없는 모든 중생이 깨달음을 얻는 가능성을 근본적인 사상에 주목하게 되 었다.

        This study was conducted to investigate the flora of Sonjukdo Island (Yeosu-si), Korea. From results of four field surveys from April 2023 to October 2023, we identified 483 total taxa, representing 440 species, seven subspecies, 35 varieties, and one hybrid. They were placed in 322 genera and 109 families, including 249 taxa newly recorded in this study. Among them, four taxa were endemic to Korea, four taxa were IUCN red list plants, and 22 taxa were climate sensitive indicator plants. Floristic target plants amounted to 99 taxa, including two taxa of grade IV, 41 taxa of grade III, 10 taxa of grade II, and 46 taxa of grade I. A total of 54 taxa of alien plants were identified, with a Naturalized Index of 11.2% and an Urbanization Index of 13.8%. Three plants disturbed the ecosystem. The flora of this surveyed area belongs to the south-coast province among floral provinces of the Korean Peninsula. Our results provide basic data on vascular plants flora, plant species diversity, and distributional changes.

        The aerospace and power generation industries have an increasing demand for high-temperature, highstrength materials. However, conventional materials typically lack sufficient fracture toughness and oxidation resistance at high temperatures. This study aims to enhance the high-temperature properties of Nb-Si-Ti alloys through ball milling. To analyze the effects of milling time, the progression of alloying is evaluated on the basis of XRD patterns and the microstructure of alloy powders. Spark plasma sintering (SPS) is employed to produce compacts, with thermodynamic modeling assisting in predicting phase fractions and sintering temperature ranges. The changes in the microstructure and variation in the mechanical properties due to the adjustment of the sintering temperature provide insights into the influence of Nb solid solution, Nb5Si3, and crystallite size within the compacts. By investigating the changes in the mechanical properties through strengthening mechanisms, such as precipitation strengthening, solid solution strengthening, and crystallite refinement, this study aims to verify the applicability of Nb-Si-Ti alloys in advanced material systems.

        토석 채취 후 식생복구지의 토양 특성은 복구 식생의 생육에 중요하다. 본 연구는 토석 채취 후 식생복구지와 인접 소나무 및 굴참나무 임분을 대상으로 0∼10cm, 10∼20cm, 20∼30cm 깊이에 토양의 물리·화학적 특성을 조사하였다. 토양용적밀도와 토양 pH는 식생복구지가 소나무나 굴참나무 임분에 비해 유의적으로 높았으나(P<0.05), 유기탄소와 전질소농도는 인접 산림지에 비해 낮았다. 유효 인은 0~10cm 깊이에서 식생복구지 와 산림지 간 유의적인 차이가 없었으나, 교환성 칼슘은 식생복구지가 인접 산림지에 비해 유의적으로 높게 나타났다. 토양 유기 탄소저장량은 식생복구지가 9,896 kg C ha-1로 소나무 임분 131,368 kg C ha-1나 굴참나무 임분 154,381 kg C ha-1에 비해 유의적으로 낮았으며 질소저장량도(식 생복구지: 2,406 kg N ha-1; 소나무: 10,496 kg N ha-1; 굴참나무: 8,081 kg N ha-1) 유사한 경향을 보였다. 그러나 인, 포타슘, 마그네슘 저장량은 식생복구지와 인접 산림 간 유의적인 차이는 없었다. 한편, 칼슘저장량은 식생복구지가 8,998 kg Ca ha-1로 소나무 임분 697 kg Ca ha-1나 굴참나무 임분 660 kg Ca ha-1에 비해 유의적으로 크게 나타났다. 본 연구 결과에 따르면 토석 채취 후 식생복구지는 토양용적밀도와 토양 pH를 낮추고 유기물의 증가와 질소 시비 같은 양분관리가 필요한 것으로 나타났다.

        β-Ga2O3 has become the focus of considerable attention as an ultra-wide bandgap semiconductor following the successful development of bulk single crystals using the melt growth method. Accordingly, homoepitaxy studies, where the interface between the substrate and the epilayer is not problematic, have become mainstream and many results have been published. However, because the cost of homo-substrates is high, research is still mainly at the laboratory level and has not yet been scaled up to commercialization. To overcome this problem, many researchers are trying to grow high quality Ga2O3 epilayers on hetero-substrates. We used diluted SiH4 gas to control the doping concentration during the heteroepitaxial growth of β-Ga2O3 on c-plane sapphire using metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD). Despite the high level of defect density inside the grown β-Ga2O3 epilayer due to the aggregation of random rotated domains, the carrier concentration could be controlled from 1 × 1019 to 1 × 1016 cm-3 by diluting the SiH4 gas concentration. This study indicates that β-Ga2O3 hetero-epitaxy has similar potential to homo-epitaxy and is expected to accelerate the commercialization of β-Ga2O3 applications with the advantage of low substrate cost.

        The effects of annealing on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Al–Zn–Mg–Cu–Si alloys fabricated by high-energy ball milling (HEBM) and spark plasma sintering (SPS) were investigated. The HEBM-free sintered alloy primarily contained Mg2Si, Q-AlCuMgSi, and Si phases. Meanwhile, the HEBM-sintered alloy contains Mg-free Si and θ-Al2Cu phases due to the formation of MgO, which causes Mg depletion in the Al matrix. Annealing without and with HEBM at 500oC causes partial dissolution and coarsening of the Q-AlCuMgSi and Mg2Si phases in the alloy and dissolution of the θ-Al2Cu phase in the alloy, respectively. In both alloys, a thermally stable α-AlFeSi phase was formed after long-term heat treatment. The grain size of the sintered alloys with and without HEBM increased from 0.5 to 1.0 μm and from 2.9 to 6.3 μm, respectively. The hardness of the sintered alloy increases after annealing for 1 h but decreases significantly after 24 h of annealing. Extending the annealing time to 168 h improved the hardness of the alloy without HEBM but had little effect on the alloy with HEBM. The relationship between the microstructural factors and the hardness of the sintered and annealed alloys is discussed.

        Aluminum alloys, known for their high strength-to-weight ratios and impressive electrical and thermal conductivities, are extensively used in numerous engineering sectors, such as aerospace, automotive, and construction. Recently, significant efforts have been made to develop novel aluminum alloys specifically tailored for additive manufacturing. These new alloys aim to provide an optimal balance between mechanical properties and thermal/ electrical conductivities. In this study, nine combinatorial samples with various alloy compositions were fabricated using direct energy deposition (DED) additive manufacturing by adjusting the feeding speeds of Al6061 alloy and Al-12Si alloy powders. The effects of the alloying elements on the microstructure, electrical conductivity, and hardness were investigated. Generally, as the Si and Cu contents decreased, electrical conductivity increased and hardness decreased, exhibiting trade-off characteristics. However, electrical conductivity and hardness showed an optimal combination when the Si content was adjusted to below 4.5 wt%, which can sufficiently suppress the grain boundary segregation of the α- Si precipitates, and the Cu content was controlled to induce the formation of Al2Cu precipitates.

        The new biography of Jin Yunqiao published in the 19th year of Si De of Vietnam (1866) is the earliest version of “The New Jin Yun Qiao Biography” discovered at present. The text of “The New Jin Yun Qiao Biography” is divided into two columns, the upper column is a six-character poem, and the lower column is an eight-character poem, with a total of 2390 sentences and 16724 muttering words. The relationship between Nom characters in the book and Vietnamese recorded is complex. Through investigation, there are three situations: one word with many words, one word with many words and one word with one word. There are many words in a word, which can be subdivided into homophones, near sounds and different meanings, and near sounds and near meanings according to the sound and meaning relationship between words. According to the relationship between characters and their use functions, the word multi-character can be subdivided into “native use-native use”, “native use-borrowing” and “borrowing use-borrowing”. Word by word, according to the different use attributes, can be divided into two categories: “original use” and “borrowing”. The reason for the complex relationship between words and characters is related to the low standardization of Nom and Vietnamese. A Nom has many written variants, and a Vietnamese vocabulary has many phonetic expressions.

        양산시 동면 금산리 일원의 공사현장 사면 3개 지점에서 미고결 퇴적층을 절단하는 단층이 확인되었으며, 노두 단면에서 관찰되는 단층의 상세 구조분석을 수행하였다. 이곳 금산리 지점은 기존에 제4기 단층운동이 보고된 가산단층 지점으로부터 북쪽으로 약 0 .6 k m 떨어진 곳에 위치한다. 관찰된 총 6조의 단층들은 14o-32oE 주향을 가지고 3조의 단 층들은 77o-87oNW, 나머지 3조의 단층들은 53o-62oSE로 경사진다. 단층에 의해 절단된 미고결 퇴적층은 동편의 금정산 에서 유래된 선상지 역암으로 주로 화강암 또는 화산암 기원의 직경 0.5m 이상의 거력으로 구성된다. 단층면 상에 발 달하는 단층조선은 역이동성 성분이 포함된 우수향 주향이동단층 운동감각을 지시하며, 이러한 변형특성은 한반도 현생 응력환경인 동북동-서남서 압축응력과 부합한다. 사면에서 관찰되는 기반암과 미고결 퇴적층과의 부정합면을 기준으로 산정한 단층의 겉보기 수직변위는 동편이 15 m, 서편이 1 m이다.

        This study investigated the growth behavior and characteristics of compounds formed at the interface between a liquid Al-Si-Cu alloy and solid cast iron. Through microstructural analyses, it was observed that various AlFe and AlFeSi phases are formed at the interface, and the relative proportion of each phase changes when small amounts of strontium are added to the Al alloy. The results of the microstructural analysis indicate that the primary phases of the interfacial compounds in the Al-Si-Cu base alloy are Al8Fe2Si and Al4.5FeSi. However, in the Sr-added alloys, significant amounts of binary AlFe intermetallic compounds such as Al5Fe2 and Al13Fe4 formed, in addition to the AlFeSi phases. The inclusion of Sr has a slight diminishing effect on the rate at which the interfacial compounds layer thickens during the time the liquid Al alloy is in contact with the cast iron. The study also discusses the nano-indentation hardness and micro-hardness of the interfacial phases.

        Silicon (Si) has the potential to improve plant growth and stress tolerance. The study aimed to explore Si-involving plant responses and molecular characterization of different Si-responsive genes in alfalfa. In this study, the exogenous supplementation of Si enhanced plant growth, and biomass yield. Si-acquisition in alfalfa root and shoot was higher in Si-supplemented compared to silicon deficient (-Si) plants, implying Si-acquisition has beneficial on alfalfa plants. As a consequence, the quantum efficiency of photosystem II (Fv/Fm) was significantly increased in silicon-sufficient (+Si) plants. The quantitative gene expression analysis exhibited a significant upregulation of the Lsi1, Lsi2, Lsi3, NIP5;1, and NIP6;1 genes in alfalfa roots, while BOR1, BOR4, NIP2, and NIP3 showed no significant variation in their expression. The MEME results further noticed the association of four motifs related to the major intrinsic protein (MIP). The interaction analysis revealed that NIP5;1 and Lsi1 showed a shared gene network with NIP2, BOR1, and BOR4, and Lsi2, Lsi3 and NIP3-1, respectively. These results suggest that members of the major intrinsic proteins (MIPs) family especially Lsi1, Lsi2, Lsi3, NIP5;1, and NIP6;1 genes helped to pass water and other neutral solutes through the cell membrane and those played significant roles in Si uptake and transport in plants. Together, these insights might be useful for alfalfa breeding and genome editing approaches for alfalfa improvement.

        This study investigates the melting point and brazing properties of the aluminum (Al)-copper (Cu)-silicon (Si)-tin (Sn) alloy fabricated for low-temperature brazing based on the alloy design. Specifically, the Al-20Cu-10Si-Sn alloy is examined and confirmed to possess a melting point of approximately 520oC. Analysis of the melting point of the alloy based on composition reveals that the melting temperature tends to decrease with increasing Cu and Si content, along with a corresponding decrease as the Sn content rises. This study verifies that the Al-20Cu-10Si-5Sn alloy exhibits high liquidity and favorable mechanical properties for brazing through the joint gap filling test and Vickers hardness measurements. Additionally, a powder fabricated using the Al-20Cu-10Si-5Sn alloy demonstrates a melting point of around 515oC following melting point analysis. Consequently, it is deemed highly suitable for use as a low-temperature Al brazing material.

        In order to broaden the range of application of light weight aluminum alloys, it is necessary to enhance the mechanical properties of the alloys and combine them with other materials, such as cast iron. In this study, the effects of adding small amounts of Cu and Zr to the Al-Si-Mg based alloy on tensile properties and corrosion characteristics were investigated, and the effect of the addition on the interfacial compounds layer with the cast iron was also analyzed. Although the tensile strength of the Al-Si-Mg alloy was not significantly affected by the additions of Cu and Zr, the corrosion resistance in 3.5 %NaCl solution was found to be somewhat lowered in this research. The influence of Cu and Zr addition on the type and thickness of the interfacial compounds layer formed during compound casting with cast iron was not significant, and the main interfacial compounds were identified to be Al5FeSi and Al8Fe2Si phases, as in the case of the Al-Si-Mg alloys.

        본 연구는 제주특별자치도에 유입된 Myocastor coypus Molina, 1782 (Nutria)의 퇴치를 위해 이루어졌다. 서식확인 및 퇴치는 2013년 9월부터 2013년 11월까지 이루어졌고, 그후 퇴치 성공여부를 확인하기 위해 2022년 6월까지 조사가 이루어졌다. 서식 확인 및 포획은 무인카메라, 청문조사, 문헌조사, 먹이유인을 통한 트랩 포획법을 사용하여 진행하였다. 후속조사는 Nutria의 행동반경을 감안하여 조사범위를 비교적 넓게 설정하여 서식지역(퇴치지역)을 중심으로 4.0㎢ 내 습지 및 하천 조사를 진행하였다. 그 결과 서식 확인지역은 제주특별자치도 제주시 구좌읍 송당리 소재의 송당목장에 서만 발견되었으며, 방목장 내 수로와 연못에서 서식흔적(족적, 배설물, 굴)이 확인되었다. 포획개체는 총 8개체였으며, 암컷 4개체, 수컷 3개체였다. 1개체는 서식확인 시 확인되어 부패 정도가 심해 암·수의 구별이 어려웠다. 후속조사는 설정한 조사범위 내 항시 물이 있는 성읍저수지, 천미천, 몰순이못을 중심으로 서식지와 그 주변을 정밀조사하였으나 서식흔적이 확인되지 않았다. 따라서, 제주도에 서식하는 Nutria는 완전히 퇴치된 것으로 판단된다. 제주특별자치도에서 Nutria의 퇴치가 성공적으로 이루어진 것은 Nutria의 서식 확인 후 빠른 포획을 통해 정착단계 초기에 퇴치가 이루진 것과 제주도 지질 특성상 물이 항시 고여있는 습지가 드물어 확장의 시기가 늦어진 것이 시너지 효과를 일으켜 성공적인 퇴치가 이루어진 것으로 판단된다. 이 결과들은 외래종의 유입에 대한 대처는 그 종의 생태특성을 신속하게 파악하고, 올바른 대처를 통해 확장단계 이전 정착 초기 단계에서 관리 및 퇴치를 통해 교란이 일어나기 전 또는 교란 초기에 차단하는 것이 매우 효과적인 방법임을 시사한다.

        Soft magnetic powder materials are used throughout industries such as motors and power converters. When manufacturing Fe-based soft magnetic composites, the size and shape of the soft magnetic powder and the microstructure in the powder are closely related to the magnetic properties. In this study, Fe-Si-Al-P alloy powders were manufactured using various manufacturing process parameter sets, and the process parameters of the vacuum induction melt gas atomization process were set as melt temperature, atomization gas pressure, and gas flow rate. Process variable data that records are converted into 6 types of data for each powder recovery section. Process variable data that recorded minute changes were converted into 6 types of data and used as input variables. As output variables, a total of 6 types were designated by measuring the particle size, flowability, apparent density, and sphericity of the manufactured powders according to the process variable conditions. The sensitivity of the input and output variables was analyzed through the Pearson correlation coefficient, and a total of 6 powder characteristics were analyzed by artificial neural network model. The prediction results were compared with the results through linear regression analysis and response surface methodology, respectively.

        This research investigated the effect of Si addition on the microstructure, mechanical properties, electric and thermal conductivity of as-extruded Al 6013 alloys. As the content of Si increased, the area fraction of the second phase increased. As the Si content increased, the average grain size decreased remarkably, from 182 (no Si addition) to 142 (1.5Si), 78 (3.0Si) and 77 μm (4.5Si) due to dynamic recrystallization by the dispersed second particles in the aluminum matrix during the hot extrusion. As the Si content increased, the yield strength and ultimate tensile strength increased. The maximum values of yield strength and ultimate tensile strength were 224 MPa and 103 MPa for the 6013-4.5Si alloy. As the amount of Si added increased, the electrical and thermal conductivity decreased. The electrical and thermal conductivity of the Al6013-4.5Si alloy were 44.0% IACS and 165.0 W/mK, respectively. The addition of Si to Al 6013 alloy had a significant effect on its thermal conductivity and mechanical properties.
