        In this study, the hydration characteristics in winter of low heat concrete with respect to the binder type are investigated experimentally. According to the research results, TBC1(Ternary Blended Cement) applied low heat concrete, the heat of hydration was found to be reduced and the 28 days compressive strength was superior to that of other TBC mixes.

        Tensile stress and strain of rear by shock wave become the cause of rear side scabbing of concrete subjected to high-velocity impact. Improvement of flexural and tensile performance by fiber reinforcement has great effect on the suppression of the rear scabbing.

        In this study, local fracture of concrete was evaluated through high-velocity impact test. As results, increase of bending tension performance by fiber reinforcement did not affect penetration depth Control, but it decreased rear side fracture thickness and diameter. Therefore, it was observed that fiber reinforcement decreases scabbing limit thickness.

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the field application of cold-mixed recycled asphalt using cementless binder. After the test construction, it was not cause problem, such as this stripping, falling and crack of pavement. Also, it was confirmed to be performance of equal or higher than of existing technology.

        Fossil fuel combustion generates large amount of green house gas and it was considered major emission source causingglobal warming. For reducing green house gas, renewable energy resources have been emerged as an alternative energy.Among those resources, waste has been considered major resource as one of renewable energy, but it has been not utilizedsufficiently. In Korea, there are lots of efforts to utilize sewage sludge as one of renewable energy resources due to wasteto energy project of government. In this paper, sewage sludge was utilized as main fuel in order to recover heat energysource using oxy-fuel combustion in 30KWth circulating fluidized bed (CFB) pilot plant. Firstly, basic characteristics ofsewage sludge were analyzed and fuel feed rate was calculated by stoichiometry oxygen demand. For producing 30kwthermal energy in pilot plant, the feeding rate of sewage sludge was calculated as 13kg/hr. In oxy-fuel combustion, oxygeninjection rate was ranged from 21% to 40%. Fluidized material was more suitably circulated in which the rate of U/Umfwas calculated as 8 at 800oC. Secondly, Temperature and pressure gradients in circulation fluidized bed were comparedin case of oxy and air combustion. Temperature gradients was more uniformly depicted in case of 25% oxygen injectionwhen the value of excess oxygen was injected as 1.37. Combustion efficiency was greatest at the condition of 25% oxygeninjection rate. Also, the flue gas temperature was the highest at the condition of 25% oxygen injection rate. Lastly,combustion efficiency was presented in case of oxy and air combustion. Combustion efficiency was increased to 99.39%in case of 25% oxygen injection rate. In flue-gas composition from oxy-fuel combustion, nitrogen oxide was ranged from47ppm to 73ppm, and sulfur dioxide was ranged from 460ppm to 645ppm.

        Flavonols as a major kind of plant secondary metabolites are known for health-promoting compounds in onions (Allium cepa L.). The objectives of this study are to determine profiles of flavonol glycosides in different 75 onion accessions. A total of five flavonols (quercetin 3,4'- diglucoside, Q34'diG; quercetin 3-glucoside, Q3G; quercetin 4'-glucoside, Q4'G; isorhamnetin 4'-glucoside, I4'G; quercetin, Q) were identified from onion accessions. In positive ion mode using LC-ESI-MS, individual flavonols were confirmed from one and two glycosylation binding with aglycone such as quercetin and isorhamnetin. Total flavonol contents were distributed in white onion (range of 0.18-6.47 mg/g DW) and purple onion accessions (range of 2.39-6.47 mg/g), respectively. The mean of flavonol contents in purple onion (4.41 mg/g) showed 1.4-fold higher than white onion (3.23 mg/g). The Q34'diG and Q4'G were considered as the major compounds of flavonol glycosides in onion accessions.

        Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.) was recognized as a potential source of forage. But the domestic cultivation techniques are not set standards yet. So we tested the basic culture techniques during 2012~2013 for getting a high yield and good grade forage production system. The best seeding method for mechanized planting (corn planter used) was hill seeding with 20×20 cm seeding distance. When we treated hill seeding with 20×20 cm, the yield what we could get was 13,641 kg/10a and it was 32% more than that of conventional practice hill seeding with 20×30 cm seeding distance. The proper seeding date for getting high yield was May 1. In May 1, the yield per 10a was reached 13,423 kg, and it was 30% more than that of seeding at May 30. More over the crude protein content which was important factor for determinating forage nutritive value was 12.7% and it was higher 1.8% (relatively 16.5% high) than that of May 30 seeding. The most effective herbicide for kenaf was Fluazipof-p-butyl. It’s herbicidal rate was 97% and phyto-toxicity was less than 5%. Regional adaptability for Jeollabuk-Do including Imsil Gun, Kochang Gun and Sunchang Gun were identified that the stable cultivation were possible in these area with average yield 12,400 kg/10a and it was about 1.7 times as compared to corn harvest.

        Fresh edible sweet corns demand relatively short period to harvest fresh ears, which can allow farmers to make a choice sweet corns for various cropping systems. For this reason, we were to find the optimum planting date of late-planted sweet corns to sell fresh ears in the autumn linked to cropping system with winter crops, investigating yield and properties of marketable fresh ears and growth traits of sweet corns (cv. 'Godangok' and cv. 'Guseulok') depending on planting dates such as 10 July, 20 July, and 30 July in Suwon 2012 and 2013, respectively. The 20 July-planted sweet corns showed the most fresh ear yield. However, the 10 July-planted and the 30 July-planted had 32% less yield caused by consecutive rainfall from 10 July through 20 July, and 15% less yield due to low air temperature during ripening than the 20 July-planted, respectively. The 10 and 20 July-planted sweet corns had average 140g of a fresh ear weight and 15% heavier ear than the 30 July-planted. For the July-planted sweet corns, silking days after planting (r=-0.80**), and harvesting days after silking (r=-0.97**) and planting (r=-0.91**) were highly negatively correlated with daily mean air temperature during the period, resulting in it takes 1,100 growing degree days (GDD) to harvest fresh ears from the July-planted sweet corns. The fresh ears of the 20 July-planted sweet corns are able to be harvested by early October. Therefore it will be a good choice for the cropping system based on winter vegetable cash crops such as temperate garlic and onion with medium or late maturity. Among three planting dates 20 July-planted sweet corns had the best field performance in every year considering fresh ear yield, ear size, and stability to grow.

        농촌진흥청 국립식량과학원에서 논 조건 적응 국수용 품종의 제분율 증가와 붉은곰팡이병 저항성 증진을 목적으로 1996년도에 백립계 춘파 다수성인 Bacanora88을 모본으로 하고, 현재 국내 최대 재배되고 있는 금강밀을 부본으로 인공교배하여 YW2948 조합을 육성하였다. 경기도 연천에서 집단재배 후 계통을 전개하여 초형과 수형이 양호하며 숙기가 빠르고 내한성이 강한 계통인 YW2948-B-B-1-1-1-1-1-1을 2005년과 2006년도 2년간 생산력검정을 거쳐 ‘익산320호’로 계통명을 부여하고, 2007년부터 3개년 동안 지역적응시험을 실시한 결과 숙기가 빠르며 백립계이고, 붉은곰팡이병에 중도 저항성을 나타냈다. 제분율이 높으며 밀가루와 국수 색택이 밝고, 식미감이 우수하여 2009년 농작물 직무육성 신품종심의회에서 ‘중모2004’로 명명하였다. 그 후 국립종자원의 재배심사를 거쳐 2013년 종자산업법제55조에 따라 품종보호 등록 원부에 등록되었다. 중모2004의 파성은 III형으로 양절형이고, 엽색은 녹색이며 이삭은 방추형이고, 종자는 중간크기로 백색이다. 출수기와 성숙기는 밭 조건 조건에서 각각 4월 24일과 6월 4일로 금강밀보다 1~2일 빠르고, 논 조건에서는 각각 4월 21일과 6월 2일로 2일 빠르다. 내한성은 금강밀보다 약하지만 수발아 저항성은 금강밀보다 강하고, 흰가루병과 붉은곰팡이병은 감수성이다. 중모2004의 제분율은 금강밀보다 약간 낮지만, 밀가루의 품질과 국수 가공특성이 비슷한 특성을 보였다. 천립중은 42.5 g으로 금강밀보다 약간 적은 소립이며, 지역적응성 시험에서 밭 조건 수량은 517 kg/10a으로 11% 감소하였고, 논 조건 수량은 534 kg/10a로 금강밀보다 3% 증수하였다.

        2013년 1월에서 8월 사이에 전국에서 유통 중인 립스틱, 립글로스, 립밤, 파운데이션, 아이라이너 등 색조화장품 121개 제품에서 납, 카드뮴, 비소, 크롬, 안티몬, 니켈, 구리 및 코발트의 농도 측정과 국산 및 수입산, 유형별, 색상별로 비교함으로써 이와 관련된 분야의 기초자료를 제공하고자 본 연구를 시행하였다. 분석된 전체 색조화장품의 중금속 평균 농도는 납 0.663μg/g, 카드뮴 0.010μg/g, 비소 0.056μg/g, 크롬 1.144μg/g, 안티몬 0.008μg/g, 니켈 0.405μg/g, 구리 0.319μg/g 및 코발트 0.108μg/g으로 측정되었다. 국산 및 수입산 색조화장품은 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였으며(p < 0.05), 수입산이 크롬을 제외한 7개 금속에서 국산보다 높게 검출되었다. 색조화장품의 유형에 따른 중금속 농도는 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였으며(p < 0.05), 립스틱에서 크롬 1.430μg/g, 납 0.616μg/g 그리고 니켈 0.385μg/g이 파운데이션에서 납 1.155μg/g, 크롬 1.023μg/g이 가장 높은 농도를 보였으며, 아이라이너에서는 크롬 1.424μg/g, 니켈 0.830μg/g이 가장 높은 농도를 나타내었다. 색조화장품의 색상별 중금속 농도는 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였으며(p < 0.05), 갈색의 화장품은 크롬, 니켈과 구리가 높은 평균 농도를 보였고, 아이보리색의 화장품은 납과 크롬이 핑크색의 화장품은 크롬과 납이 높은 평균 농도를 나타내었다.

        농촌진흥청 국립식량과학원에서 수확시기가 빠른 국수용밀 품종 개발을 목적으로 1997년도에 조숙 계통인 SW86054 를 모본으로 하고 현재 국내 최대 재배되고 있는 금강밀을 부본으로 인공교배하여 SW97031 조합을 육성하였다. 경기도 연천에서 집단재배 후 계통을 전개하여 초형과 수형이 양호하며 숙기가 빠르고 내한성이 강한 계통인 SW97031-B-47-4-1-5-1-1을 2005년과 2006년도 2년간 생산력검정을 거쳐 ‘익산318호’로 계통명을 부여하고, 2007년부터 3개년 동안 지역적응시험을 실시한 결과 숙기가 빠르며 내한성이 강하고, 백립계이면서 수발아 중도저항성으로 생산안정성이 우수하였다. 밀가루와 국수 색택이 좋고 식미감이 우수하지만 단위면적당 수량 개선이 요구되어 2009년 농작물 직무육성 신품종심의회에서 ‘중모2003’으로 명명하였다. 그 후 국립종자원의 재배심사를 거쳐 2013년 종자산업법제55조에 따라 품종보호등록 원부에 등록되었다. 중모2003의 파성은 III형으로 양절형이고, 엽색은 녹색이며 이삭은 방추형이고, 종자는 중간크기로 백색이다. 출수기와 성숙기는 밭 조건 조건에서 각각 4월 24일과 6월 4일로 금강밀보다 1~2일 빠르고, 논 조건에서는 각각 4월 21일과 6월 2일로 2일 빠르다. 추위와 수발아저항성이 강하고, 흰가루병과 붉은곰팡이병은 감수성이다. ‘중모2003’의 제분율은 금강밀보다 약간 낮지만, 밀가루의 품질과 국수 가공특성이 비슷한 특성을 보였다. 천립중은 42.5g으로 금강밀보다 약간 적은 소립이며, 지역적응성 시험에서 밭 조건 수량은 555 kg/10a, 논 조건 수량은 485 kg/10a로 금강밀보다 4%와 7% 감수하였다.

        국립식량과학원에서 수발아와 붉은곰팡이병 등에 대한 내재해성이 강한 국수용 밀 품종 육성을 목적으로 1997년도에 금강밀과 은파밀을 인공교배 한 F1을 모본으로 하고 다시 금강밀을 부본으로 인공교배하여 SW97005 조합을 육성하였다. 경기도 연천에서 집단재배 후에 계통을 전개하여 초형과 수형이 양호하고 내한성이 강한 계통인 SW97005-B-26-5-4-1-1-1을 2005년과 2006년도 2년간 생산력검정을 거쳐 ‘익산319호’로 계통명을 부여하고, 2007년부터 3개년 동안 지역적응시험을 실시한 결과 내한성이 강하고, 수발아 저항성이며 붉은곰팡이병에 중도저항성이고, 수량이 많을 뿐만 아니라 국수가공적성이 우수하여 2009년 농작물 직무육성 신품종심의회에서 ‘수안밀’로 명명하였다. 그 후 국립종자원의 재배심사를 거쳐 2013년 종자산업법제55조에 따라 품종보호 등록 원부에 등록되었다. 수안밀의 파성은 III형으로 양절형이고, 엽색은 녹색이며 이삭은 방추형이고, 종자는 중간크기로 적색이다. 출수기와 성숙기는 밭상태 조건에서 각각 4월 25일과 6월 4일로 금강밀보다 1일 빠르고, 논상태에서는 각각 4월 23일과 6월 4일로 동일하다. 내한성과 수발아 저항성이 강하고 붉은곰팡이병은 중도저항성이다. 수안밀의 제분율은 금강밀보다 약간 낮고, 단백질 함량과 회분함량이 낮아 밀가루 색이 밝고 단백질적 특성은 국수용에 적합하다. 천립중은 43.7 g으로 금강밀보다 약간 적은 소립이며, 지역적응성 시험에서 밭상태 수량은 594 kg/10a, 논상태 수량은 563 kg/10a로 금강밀보다 3%와 8% 증수하였다.

        In this study, instead of economic estimation of forecast value, we evaluated the value score(VS) of the user satisfaction using the concept of satisfaction/dissatisfaction. We compared the collective Value Scores (cVS) based on outputs of probabilistic forecasts of precipitation seasonally in Seoul and Busan during the period of 2004 to 2013 and ÿnally found the optimum threshold that can improve cVS of both cities. When using 30% threshold, the users can expect a higher cVS compared with those using other thresholds. When using the seasonal optimum threshold in Seoul, the cVS is additionally higher by 9%. These results show the level of satisfaction of the forecast that can be improved when the meteorological communities inform the users the correct threshold of the rainfall probabilistic forecast.

        The objective of this study was to evaluate quality properties including amylose, alkali digestion value (ADV), texture and GABA (Gamma Amino-Butyric Acid) of brown rice and 1~5 mm germinated brown rice of Keunnun and Samkwang culitvars. The protein content of germinated brown rice showed increasing tendency according to shoot length, however, the difference was not statistically significant. The amylose content of all samples ranged from 15.0% to 16.0% in Keunnun and 17.0% to 18.0% in Samkwang, without significant differences. Compared to regular brown rice, germinated brown rice from both cultivars demonstrated reduced gel consistency, which contributed to the improved cooked rice texture. Especially, germinated brown rice had significantly lower setback values, which is correlated with high palatability of cooked rice. However, there was no significant difference in gel consistency between 1 mm and 2~5 mm germinated brown rice. GABA content in Keunnun increased by 3~5 times after germination process. In Samkwang, GABA content increased by 50 times (from 0.005 μg/g to 0.243~0.247 μg/g) after germination. The hardness of germinated brown rice was significantly lower than that of brown rice. However, there was no significant difference in hardness according to shoot length. Consequently, when processing germinate brown rice, it is recommended to maximize functional ingredients by germination while maintaining shoot length less than 2 mm.

        Undifferentiated high grade pleomorphic sarcoma of the thyroid gland is very rare. A 70-year-old woman was referred to our hospital for evaluation of a rapidly growing mass in the right lobe of the thyroid gland. At the first visit, she had no symp-toms. Fine-needle aspiration cytology revealed an atypia of undetermined significance. She revisited our hospital after 17 days. At that time the mass had become more enlarged and she complained of dyspnea. The next day, surgery was performed and the diagnosis was undifferentiated high grade pleomorphic sarcoma of the thyroid. The patient died 119 days after sur-gery.

        We found that, in 1984, there was a climate regime shift in April mean precipitation in Gwangju of Jeollanam-do province, Korea using a statistical change-point analysis. During the period of post-1984(1985-2013), the April mean precipitation in the years post-1984 showed a distinct decrease, compared to the pre-1984 period(1954-1984). This regime shift was also observed in China and Japan, excluding southern China. One of the major causes for the decreasing April mean precipitation during the recent three decades was the increased snow depth in the mid-latitude regions of continental East Asia. The increased snow depth resulted in strengthened cold and dry anticyclone anomaly over continental East Asia and a relatively weakened subtropical anticyclone anomaly over the western North Pacific. The anomalous synoptic conditious supported a continuation of the typical winter pressure pattern of ‘high-West and low-East’ over East Asia in April. The intensified northerly winds from this zonal pressure pattern anomaly played a significant role in restricting the northern movement of the subtropical anticyclone and there by preventing the inflow of warm and humid air into Korea.
