14-3-3 proteins are known to play a pivotal role in a diverse array of cellular events such as cell survival, apoptosis, and signal transduction. Numerous 14-3-3 ζ have been cloned and characterized from a host of eukaryotic organisms including human, plants, yeast, fruit fly and silkworm. However, no study on Spodoptera exigua 14-3-3ζ in conjunction with virus infection has so far been reported in insects. It appears that expression of Se14-3-3ζ was decreased starting 24 h post-SeNPV infection as SeNPV titers seemed to increase as evidenced by intense bands of SeNPV IAP3. Interestingly, confocal microscopic analysis revealed that Se14-3-3ζ is expressed at the apical side of the NPV-uninfected gut cells, whereas it was detected mainly in the nucleus of the NPV-infected cells. Thus, despite the biological significance of Se14-3-3ζ in S. exigua in conjunction with molecular interactions between SeNPV and S. exigua is unclear now, our data suggest that Se14-3-3 ζ protein plays a role to protect S. exigua from the infection or inhibit replication of SeNPV.

To identify DNA markers linked to a elytra polymorphism, amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) analysis was performed on DNA samples from four each colour pattern individuals (2 females and males), for example, succinea 1, succinea 2, conspicua, and spectabilis. As a result of performing AFLP analysis with the restriction endonuclease combination EcoRⅠ and Mse I, total of 2,269 AFLP fragments which were specific to succinea, conspicua and spectabilis was identified using 24 different AFLP primer combinations. Among these 2,269 fragments, 16 bands which were the most specific to one color patterns were isolated, cloned and sequenced. Subsequent UPGMA cluster analysis revealed that population of H. axyridis was divided four major group and these genetic tree showed that H. axyridis elytra colour diversity was affected by genetic polymorphism. It is considered that these genetic analyses may be facilitated the understanding of molecular genetic mechanism related with the wing colour pattern formation in this species.

마산만 조간대에서 서식하는 해조류 군집의 종조성 및 분포패턴을 2007년도에 계절별로 조사하였다. 조사기간 동안 총 42종의 해조류가 서식하였으며, 이 중 녹조류 5종, 갈조류 8종, 그리고 홍조류가 29종으로 나타났다. 우점종은 Enteromorpha linza, Ulva pertusa, Sargassum thunbergii, Gelidium amansii, G. divaricatum, Corallina pilulifera, Gracilaria textorii, 그리고 Polysiphonia morrowii으로 나타났다. 특히 우점종들은 수직분포가 뚜렷하였는데, 조간대 상부에는 U. pertusa, G. divaricatum가, 중부에는 E. intestinalis, E. linza, S. thunbergii, G. divaricatum이 우점하였다. 한편 하부에는 U. pertusa, Undaria pinnatifida, S. thunbergii, G. amansii, G. divaricatum, C. pilulifera이 주로 출현하였다. 조사기간 동안 출현한 출현종수는 계절 및 정점에 따라 변하였다. 겨울에 가장 많은 38종이 출현하였으며, 가을에는 28종으로 가장 적었다. 정점별로는 정점 4, 6에서 가장 많았으며, 정점 1, 2에서 가장 낮게 나타났다. 해조류 군집의 공간적 분포를 파악하기 위한 군집분석을 이용한 수지도 및 MDS 분석 결과에서는 해조류의 종조성 및 현존량이 각 정점의 지형적인 차이 및 조류, 해수의 움직임과 같은 물리해양학적인 특징에 의한 것으로 나타났다.

한국과학영재학교 천지인 천문대의 천문학적 시상 패턴에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 관측지의 시상 상황을 결정하기 위해서는 그 관측지에서 시상을 측정하여 데이터를 얻는 것이 가장 중요함에도 불구하고, 부산 지역에서 시상에 관한 체계적인 측정이 이루어지지 못하였다. 이러한 이유에서 본 천문대에서는 2008년 5월부터 SBIG사의 시상 모니터를 도입, 매일 시간별 시상을 꾸준히 측정하고 있다. 시상 측정은 CCD로 직접 천체 이미지를 촬영하여 FWHM지수를 추정하는 방식으로 이루어진다. 우리는 지난 8개월 동안 시상 모니터를 운영하면서 얻어진 한국과학영재학교 천지인 천문대에서의 시상 자료를 바탕으로 KSA SEMO에서의 시상 패턴을 'Sunset/sunrise Effect', 'Extreme Fluctuation', 'Sudden Increment', 'Daily Variation', 'Stable Condition' 등으로 분류하였다. 시상은 전반적으로 오전 1시에서 3시까지가 다른 시간대에 비하여 좋은 것으로 나타났으며, 여름의 시상이 겨울보다 좋았다.

Metal thin film patterns on a LTCC substrate, which was connected through inner via and metal paste for electrical signals, were formed by a screen printing process that used electric paste, such as silver and copper, in a conventional method. This method brought about many problems, such as non uniform thickness in printing, large line spaces, and non-clearance. As a result of these problems, it was very difficult to perform fine and high resolution for high frequency signals. In this study, the electric signal patterns were formed with the sputtered metal thin films (Ti, Cu) on an LTCC substrate that was coated with protective oxide layers, such as TiO2 and SiO2. These electric signal patterns' morphology, surface bonding strength, and effect on electro plating were also investigated. After putting a sold ball on the sputtered metal thin films, their adhesion strength on the LTCC substrate was also evaluated. The protective oxide layers were found to play important roles in creating a strong design for electric components and integrating circuit modules in high frequency ranges.

This study investigated the irradiation pattern of muscles on the affected side in stroke patients after application of diagonal 2 extension (D2 ex) proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation in the unaffected upper extremity. Seven stroke patients participated. Electromyographic activities were recorded in the iliopsoas, biceps brachii, and triceps brachii were recorded by surface electrodes at rest, D2 ex with knee extension, and D2 ex with knee 90 flexion, normalized by maximal voluntary isometric contraction (MVIC) values. The medial frequencies of biceps brachii in both sides were also measured to compare muscle type recruited. %MVIC of biceps brachii and triceps brachii were significantly higher in D2 ex than at rest (p<.05). There was no difference in median frequency of biceps brachii between the affected and unaffected side (p>.05). This suggests that proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation using D2 ex may improve muscle activities of the paretic side and that the irritation pattern of the affected side may respond to maintain body equilibrium according to movement of the sound side.

Benthic macroinvertebrate communities were collected in various streams in agricultural and urban areas in Korea. Community structure and species abundance distribution in benthic macroinvertebrates were comparatively analyzed to reveal ecological states pertaining to the sample sites. Species richness in the total macroinvertebrate communities decreased in the gradient along with increase in the level of pollution. Some selected taxa were present in communities collected in the streams in agricultural areas. The rank-abundance curves were also characteristic in revealing community structure according environmental impact. Patterns of species abundance were efficient in revealing ecological states of the sample sites where physico-chemical indicators may not be easily differentiated in stressful conditions. The feasibility of ecological informatics was further discussed in revealing ecological water quality.

Males of many cricket species produce calling songs to attract receptive, conspecific females. Calling songs which affected by calling pattern are critical for male mating success, since male with no or limited calling songs are unable to attract female crickets. Investigating among- and within-individual variation in calling pattern may reveal the presence of alternative mating tactics such as attracting females by producing calling songs or being satellites in which males intercept females who are attracted to calling males. In this study, I investigated patterns of calling song production during the entire adulthood of 32 laboratory-reared and 24 field-captured individuals of Teleogryllu emma. Using recording system which can record acoustic signals from up to 32 individuals simultaneously, I measured daily calling output (DCO) and total calling output (TCO) in addition to acoustic parameters of calling songs and classified T.emma males into consistent and inconsistent singers based on the consistency of singing. Consistent singers lived longer, sang longer both in a day and during the lifetime than the inconsistent singers. These results suggest that the consistent singers in this study may be considered to employ the calling tactic. In lab-reared individuals, there seemed to be a trade-off between increasing pulse duration and length of phrases and ling chirp although older males produced calling songs with longer ling chirps and more multiple phrases.

Nanofabrication is an essential process throughout industry. Technologies that produce general nanofabrication, such as e-beam lithography, dip-pen lithography, DUV lithography, immersion lithography, and laser interference lithography, have drawbacks including complicated processes, low throughput, and high costs, whereas nano-transfer printing (nTP) is inexpensive, simple, and can produce patterns on non-plane substrates and multilayer structures. In general nTP, the coherency of gold-deposited stamps is strengthened by using SAM treatment on substrates, so the gold patterns are transferred from stamps to substrates. However, it is hard to apply to transfer other metallic materials, and the existing nTP process requires a complicated surface treatment. Therefore, it is necessary to simplify the nTP technology to obtain an easy and simple method for fabricating metal patterns. In this paper, asnTP process with poly vinyl alcohol (PVA) mold was proposed without any chemical treatment. At first, a PVA mold was duplicated from the master mold. Then, a Mo layer, with a thickness of 20 nm, was deposited on the PVA mold. The Mo deposited PVA mold was put on the Si wafer substrate, and nTP process progressed. After the nTP process, the PVA mold was removed using DI water, and transferred Mo nano patterns were characterized by a Scanning electron micrograph (SEM) and Energy Dispersive spectroscopy (EDS).

This study was performed to confirm the microtubule assemblies and methylation patterns of porcine IVF and parthenogenetic embryos. Cumulus-oocyte complexes were collected and matured in vitro for 42 hr. Oocytes were fertilized by prepared fresh sperm or activated parthenogenetically by exposure to electric stimulation and 6-dimethylaminopurine. Porcine IVF and parthenogenetic embryos were cultured in vitro for 6 days. Embryos were stained by immunofluorescence staining method to observe the dynamic of nucleus and microtubules in the first mitotic phase and the methylation patterns in different developmental stages. After then, samples were confirmed and analyzed through a laser-scanning confocal microscope. IVF embryos had a centrosome originated from sperms, which was shown a ɤ-tubulin spot. However, ɤ-tubulin spot was not observed in parthenogenetic embryos. A lower methylation level was observed in IVF embryos compared to parthenogenetic ones at the morula and blastocyst stages. In conclusion, it is considered that microtubule assemblies and genetic regulation mechanism differ between parthenogenetic and IVF embryos.

1997~2006년의 10년간 계절별로 동해안에 위치한 3개 원자력발전소(울진, 월성 및 고리)의 배수구 부근 방파제와 대조구에서 산호말류의 종조성과 생물량을 조사하였다. 조사를 통하여 13종의 산호말류가 관찰되었으며, 작은구슬산호말, 고리마디게발, 참산호말 및 잘피껍데기의 4종은 거의 모든 조사정점에서 지난 10년간 50% 이상의 출현빈도를 보이는 보편 종으로 밝혀졌다. 조사정점별로는 발전소 방파제에서 10~12종이 출현하고 대조구에

본 연구에서는 경찰청에서 제공한 2006년 전국 37,589개의 보행자 사고 자료에서 나타난 보행자 사고 심각도를 분석했다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 보행자사고 심각도에 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상되는 주요 요인을 미리 선정하여, 그 영향을 순서형 로짓 모형(Ordered Logit Model)을 통해 분석했다. 이모형은 사고 심각도와 같이 종속변수가 순서형으로 표시되는 경우 매우 유용한 결과를 제시하는 것으로 알려져 있어서 본 연구에서 사용했다. 본 연구는 다음과 같은 결과를 나타냈다. 첫째, 우리나라 보행자 사고 심각도는 운전자와 보행자로 나타나는 인적요인에서 성별, 나이, 음주여부에 영향을 많이 받는다. 둘째, 기타 요인에는 차량, 도로기하구조, 날씨, 시간대가 포함된다. 셋째, 보행자 사고 심각도는 계절요인과 무관하다. 끝으로, 보행자 사고 심각도 분석을 위해 순서형 로짓 모형을 적용하면 매우 적절한 분석결과를 얻을 수 있다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 우리나라 보행자 사고 심각도는 사람들이 전통적으로 생각하는 것과 같은 방식인 것으로 확인했다. 이 결론은 본 연구에서 사용한 사고자료에 국한한 것이며, 이 결론을 일반화시키려면 추후 연구가 필요하다.

This study was conducted to evaluate changes in food consumption during the 1950's on the basis of articles that reflected national policy and changes in society during that time period. Many factors are involved in the development and changes in food consumption culture, and these factors can affect each other. As a result, the process involved in the development of food consumption culture acts as a living system. This study evaluated the food consumption culture during the 1950's because this period was subjected to obvious influences that may explain the modern food consumption market logic and commercialism. Changes in the national food consumption are dependent on natural changes such as income enlargement or cultural exchange with a foreign country. Accordingly, food consumption during the 1950's was influenced by changes in economical, social, and political needs. In addition, the influx of surplus agricultural products from the United States had an adverse effect on local agriculture and resulted in an increased external dependence on food during the 1950s. Moreover, the import of raw materials and simple manufacturing techniques led to the development of an industrial food processing industry that enabled accelerated mass production of food at a low-price. Furthermore, the importation of surplus agricultural products from the United States that were used as the raw materials for foods that had traditionally been produced domestically led to an increased burden and qualitative decline in the local food-service industry. Taken together, the results of this study indicate that during the 1950's fresh food began to be replaced with processed foods in Korea.

현재 진행되고 있는 대부분의 로봇 연구는 특정한 목적을 수행함에 있어서 기능적으로 안정적이고 원활한 움직임을 보이는 것과 더불어 사용자가 원하는 정보를 적절하게 전달하는 것에 초점을 맞춰 진행하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 로봇의 작업수행 상태가 아닌 외부로부터 입력 값이 없는 대기상태의 행동패턴을 제시하여 보다 자연스러운 인간-로봇 상호작용을 제시하고자 하였다. 로봇의 대기상태 행동패턴을 디자인함에 있어서 비디오 판독 방법을 선택하였고, 실제 서비스업에 종사하는 10명의 사람들을 비디오로 녹화하여 사람들과 상호작용이 없는 대기상태의 반복적인 행동패턴을 관찰하였다. 각각의 비디오 데이터로부터 총 21개의 반복적 행동을 기록하였고, 비슷한 항목들을 통합하여 최종적으로 11개의 행동패턴을 추출하였다. 추출된 패턴들 가운데 6개의 대표적인 행동들을 EEEX라는 로봇에 적합하도록 인코딩 작업을 하였고, 이것들이 사람들에게 올바르게 인식되는지를 확인하기 위하여 검증실험을 수행하였다. 사람들은 대부분의 로봇 행동패턴을 실험에서 의도한 바와 같이 인식하였으나 로봇의 하드웨어 특성상 몸과 팔의 움직임에서 약간의 혼동 요소가 있었다. 추후 실험을 통해 EEEX를 대형 마트의 입구에 실제로 배치하여 대기 중에 중립행동을 보일 때와 보이지 않을 때의 손님의 관심도 차이를 조사해보고자 한다.

Purpose : To investigate correlations between ocular components and corneal aberration according to comeal topographic pattems. Methods : 100 subjects (127 eyes) whose corrected visual acuity is 20/20 or better participated in this study. Ocular components. comeal topography and comeal aberration were measured. Results : Round type was 25%. oval type was 17%. symmetric bow tie type was 15%. asymmetric bow tie type was 26%, irregular type was 17% in classified by corneal topographic patterns. There were significant correlations between 1st coma aberration and refraclive error. between corneal power and total astigmatism. spherical aberration(total. 1st. 2nd and 3rd). There was significant correlations between comeal eccentricity and 2nd astigmatism. There were significant correlations between corneal astigmatism and astigrnatism(total. 1st and 3rd). Refractive error. comeal astigmatism and comeal aberration were the highest value in round type among the 5 different comeal topographic patterns. Corneal power was the highest value in oval type. but corneal eccentricity was the highest value in symmetric bow tie type. Conclusions : lt is considered that this data can be used as basic information for further studies regarding effecls of comeal pattern and aberration on the qualily of vision.
