Virtual metrology(VM) is a promising technology which can convert off-line sampling inspection into on-line total inspection at the manufacturing process. This paper provides an economic evaluation model of VM system which predicts the defects of a target process with Bernoulli sampling inspection. For this purpose, we build M/G/1 queueing models of two systems. One is VM non-applied system and the other is VM applied one. We derive total costs per unit time of each system and conduct sensitivity analysis according to variations of input parameters such as defect rates, various process costs and VM prediction error rates. The proposed analysis model is expected to be used for evaluating economic values of VM system implementation projects.

A 78 year-old male complained of mild pain at a gingival mass on his anterior mandible, injured and ulcerated by autobicycle accident six months ago. He had suffered from uncontrolled diabetes. The tumor specimens from his chin and gingiva were examined by immunohistochemical method, and their microsections showed poorly differentiated polygonal tumor cells, occasionally formed ductal structures. The tumor cells grew infiltratively into adjacent fibromuscular tissue with frequent atypical mitosis, exhibiting the features of poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. However, in the computed tomography(CT) view a tumor mass was also found in his lung, and diagnosed lung cancer. In the immunohistochemical observation the tumor cells were strongly positive for thyroid transcription factor 1(TTF-1), cytokeratin 7, PCNA, p53, and PIM-1, occasionally positive for p63, but sparsely positive for survivin. The tumor cells were almost negative for S-100, cytokeratin 14, and α-SMA, while the vascular structures in the tumor tissue were conspicuously demarcated by the stains of α-SMA. Taken together, the present case was finally diagnosed poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma, metastasized from lung adenocarcinoma. And it was presumed that the metastatic tumor cells tended to be anchored in the traumatized area of anterior mandible, where the wound healing was undergoing with de novo angiogenesis and the activation of different cytokines and growth factors

In this study, the experimental method has been investigated using molecular biological way to identify raw materials from seasoned red-pepper sauce which is one of the most popular spices in Korea. 6 kinds of seasoned red-pepper sauces were chosen as a sample containing chilli pepper, garlic, onion as a major ingredient and species specific primers were used for the identification of the raw material of processed food. Selected samples were pre-treated to remove salt (samples were washed with distilled water 3~4 times for desalting), after that, to amplify the extracted genes, whole genome amplification (WGA) kit was performed. Afterwards, PCR products were confirmed through the electrophoresis. As a result, 102, 180, 280 bp of specific PCR products were confirmed for each major ingredients such as chilli pepper, garlic, onion. From this study, the gene extraction method was validated for the identification of ingredients from the spices and it would be applied to distinction of low quality chilli pepper powder including seasoned red-pepper sauce illegally.

This study was performed to approach the 2004 case of inferior quality mandu stuffing from the stance of food ethics. The court convicted the producers of inferior quality mandu stuffing and also decided against the plaintiffs who filed a damage suit. The core of the mandu stuffing case was not safety, but the wholesomeness. The principles of food ethics include a respect for life, justice, environmental preservation, and the priority of safety. The virtues of food professionals include wisdom, honesty, faithfulness, courage, moderation, and integrity. A food producer should possess not only the ability but also the morality to make food. The consumer should urge the producers to strengthen their morality and be conscious of responsibility and fairness. The government should organize a system to establish food ethics, and make efforts to reduce wasteful law enforcement. The media should lead public opinion toward justice by doing an unbiased and in-depth report and help establish the idea of food ethics. The necessity of food ethics and the spread of the ethical mind are the most important points of all.

Breaker 단계 토마토의 저온장해 증상은 착색불량과 호흡률 증가 등으로 알려져 있다. 본 실험은 이러한 저온 장해 증상과 맞물려 나타나는 이산화탄소 발생 증가와의 관계를 분석하고, 나아가 저장 중 원예산물 저온장해의 판단기준으로 이용할 수 있는 기초 자료를 만들고자 실시하였다. Breaker 단계로 선별된 토마토는 2℃에서 1차로 0, 3, 6, 9일간 2차로 0, 1, 2, 3, 10일간 저장 후 상온으로 옮겨 3, 6, 9, 12, 24, 36, 48시간마다 호흡률을 측정하였다. 저온장해로 인한 토마토 과실의 호흡률은 1일 저장 처리구부터 증가하였으며 저온 저장기간이 길어질수록 발생량 증가폭도 커졌다. Breaker 단계 토마토의 과피색은 a* 값으로 나타내었는데 각 기간별로 저온저장 후 상온으로 옮겨 10일째에 측정하였는데 Breaker 단계 토마토는 2일 저장 처리구부터 a* 값이 증가가 둔화되면서 착색불량이 나타났다. 저온저장 기간에 증가함에 따라 증가한 호흡률과 반대로 감소한 a* 값의 상관계수(r)는 0.9716로 1%의 유의성을 나타내었다 이상의 결과로 보아 Breaker 단계 토마토의 경우 저온 저장후 상온으로 옮긴 직후 이산화탄소 발생 양상으로 저온장해를 미리 진단할 수 있었으며, 그 발생량 증가폭으로 저온장해 정도도 파악할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

In order to supply the high-quality electric power, several researches have been conducted. For the high-quality power, it is necessary to inspect the power lines and insulators before the lines or insulators are disconnected or damaged. However, it is not enough to inspect all the power lines by human inspectors. In previous study, a power line inspection robot was developed to investigate the power lines and insulators. According to replace the human operators by the robot, the inspection robot has several advantages: the improved working conditions, machine accuracy, and the prevention of accident. However, the robot has some defects in its heavyweight. In this study, a lightweight inspection robot has been developed using a RP and a vacuum casting. And, this study developed a fault detection monitoring program for the high voltage equipment using a microphone which detects the location of fault and the thermal imaging and CCD cameras which verifies the fault and stores the image, respectively.

BGA test sockets failed earlier than the expected life-time due to abnormal signal delay, shown especially at the low temperature (-50˚C). Analysis of failed sockets was conducted by EDX, AES, and XRD. A SnO layer contaminated with C was found to form on the surface of socket pins. The formation of SnO layer was attributed to the repeated Sn transfer from BGA balls to pin surface and instant oxidation of fresh Sn. As a result, contact resistance increased, inducing signal delay. Abnormal signal delay at the low temperature was attributed to the increasing resistivity of Sn oxide with decreasing temperature, as manifested by the resistance measurement of SnO2.

관수량 조절을 통한 수분 스트레스 처리가 토마토 과실의 착색불량과실의 발생에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, 관행 처리(-15 kPa)에서는 착색불량과실의 발생률이 26.4%였으나 관수량을 줄인 -30 kpa 처리구에서 12.5%로 50%이상 감소하였다. 과실의 전체 칼리 함량은 정상과실과 착색불량과실 간에 차이가 없었지만, 착색불량과실의 경우 적색인 상단부위에 비해 녹색인 하단부위 과육에서 25% 많았다. 전반적으로 착과 후 시기가 경과할수록 가용성 당 함량은 증가하고 전분함량은 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 그러나 착색불량과 실의 녹색인 하단부위 과육에서는 수확시기가 경과하여도 전분 함량에는 차이가 없었다. Sucrose phosphate synthase 활성은 착색불량과실에 비해서 정상 과실의 과육에서 높은 경향을 보였고 과육의 부위별 활성 차이도 적었다. Invertase의 활성은 정상과실에서는 상단부위와 하단부위 과육 간에 활성 차이가 없었지만, 착색불량과실에서는 적색인 상단부위에서는 높은 활성을 보인 반면 녹색인 하단부위에서는 낮은 활성을 보였다. 또한 peroxidase와 alcohol dehydrogenase의 활성은 정상과실에서 높았으며, 착색불량과실에서는 녹색인 하단부위 과육과 적색인 상단부위 과육 간에 큰 차이를 보였다. 이상의 결과로 보아 토마토의 착색불량 과실은 과실내의 여러 가지 대사작용 불균형으로 발생되는데, 적당한 수분 스트레스 처리로 발생을 억제할 수 있을 것으로 사료되었다.

효과적으로 공정을 관리하기위하여 제품의 품질특성치에 영향을 주는 데이터를 수집하고 공정을 해석하여한다. 이를 위해서 데이터 마이닝(Data Mining)이 많이 수행되어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 공정으로부터 수집된 대량의 정보 데이터를 신경망(Neural Network)기법을 통하여 공정의 불량률을 예측하고 불량률이 높게 나타난 데이터를 통해 연관규칙(Association Rule)을 적용하여 불량에 영향을 주는 공정의 패턴을 파악 공정을 개선하고자 한다.
