        The purpose of this study was to assess the correlation between attitude of Patient Safety Management(PSM) and practice of PSM and clinical practice satisfaction of nursing students, also identified how these factors attitude and practice of PSM influence on clinical practice satisfaction, eventually aimed to develop education programs to strengthen practice of PSM in nursing students. A descriptive design was used in the study. The multiple regression was used for the study to prove the factors how the attitude and practice of PSM were affected to the clinical practice satisfaction. The study subjects were 226 nursing students. The results show that attitude of PSM mean was 3.71, practice of PSM mean 3.97, the clinical practice satisfaction mean 3.31. Among the general characteristics, clinical practice satisfaction showed significant differences in satisfaction of major(F=5.10, p=.001), the existence of role model(t=2.64, p=.009). Significant positive correlation was found between attitude of PSM, practice of PSM and the clinical practice satisfaction. Practice of PSM(β=.39) was shown as the most important factor to affect on the Satisfaction on clinical practice, also the explanation power of value for this study was found 41.1%. Consequently, this study indicates to develop the education program to strengthen practice of PSM. Also process the additional study for the nursing students in other areas.

        Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate simulation-based asthma pediatric care among nursing students. Methods: One group post design was utilized. A total of 148 nursing students were recruited as participants. The data were collected from February 22to June10, 2016. Seven hours of simulation-based asthma pediatric care was conducted. Results: The total mean knowledge score for asthma pediatric care was 3.8, and simulation-based performance score was 8.0. In simulation-based performance, the highest mean score was 2.4 for “oxygenation” category and the lowest mean score was 1.5 for “nursing recording.” There was no statistically significant difference in the level of clinical performance using simulation for the upper, middle, and lower groups according to the theoretical knowledge level. Additionally, no statistically significant correlation was found between the theoretical knowledge score and simulation-based clinical performance score. Conclusion: The findings suggest that simulation-based care involving various scenarios and integrated evaluation tools for clinical nursing performance are required to improve asthma pediatric care among nursing students.

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of a problem-based simulation education program on nursing student’s academic achievement, academic efficacy, and clinical performance skills. Methods: This study examined a group of nursing students using the pretest-posttest test design. Second year pediatric nursing students studying the practical subject Integrated Simulation at S University in K region were asked to complete a self-administered questionnaire before and after using a problem-based simulation education program. In addition to using SPSS/WIN 21.0 for descriptive analysis, the data was analyzed using independent t-test, repeated measures ANOVA and Pearson- correlation. Results: After completing the simulation education program, participants showed statistically higher academic achievement (t = -5.795, p < .001) and clinical performance skills (t = -3.835, p = <.001) than before. However, there was no significant difference in academic efficacy score(t=-.217, p=.829). Conclusion: The results from this study indicate that lessons with various methods and content should be developed to –evaluate both theoretical knowledge and clinical performance skills. In addition, there is a need to develop a standard evaluation.

        Purpose: This research involved a review of studies that examined the effectiveness of simulation-based nursing for clinical nurses in Korea. Methods: This is a methodological study for the identification of the simulation based educational interventions applied to nurses. Existing literature on simulation-based nursing education was searched using KISS, RISS, and Google Scholar electronic data bases and the keywords were “simulation,” “nurse,” “debriefing,” and “effect.” A total of 6 studies were included in the analysis. Results: Identified studies were conducted between 2010 and January 2017. All of the studies were randomized controlled trials(RCT). Scenario subjects were “communication skill,” and “emergency care.” Information about debriefing was largely absent from the studies. Conclusion: The findings suggest that activation of simulation–based nurse education is required. This study proposed that choice of measurement variables considering objectivity is needed.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate preferences and satisfaction levels in maternity and nursing brassiere. A questionnaire was conducted on 302 women from their 20s to 40s who had breastfeeding experience. The questionnaire included questions on participant demographics, purchase behavior, and design preference and satisfaction levels. The majority(98.0%) of the participants had had experience using maternity/nursing brassieres. More than 90% of the participants agreed with the need for maternity/nursing brassieres distinct from regular ones. Shopping online was the most common means of purchasing them. The most and second-most owned fastener types were the detachable shoulder belt type and inside-cup type, respectively. The most selected reason for purchasing or wearing a maternity/nursing brassiere was the convenience of donning and doffing the brassiere during breastfeeding. Participants had lower satisfaction levels with how well maternity/nursing brassieres support and center the breasts, and with the variety of designs available on the market. Respondents indicated that fasteners for breastfeeding should be developed to provide comfort and convenience for breastfeeding. Wearing comfort was reported as the most important factor in purchasing selection, both during the pregnancy and breastfeeding periods. No-wire, back closure, full-cup, U-shape wing, and skin color were the most preferred design styles.

        The number of children who use day-care centers is increasing. Most indoor air quality (IAQ) management has been based on daily average pollutant concentrations measured once a year. A more comprehensive management of IAQ is needed to protect children’s health from air pollutants in day-care centers. In this study, we investigated the weekly variation of air pollutant concentrations in a nursing room of a day-care center located at the roadside for a week in June of 2014. Average concentrations of CO2, PM10, black carbon, and total surface area of lungdeposited particles during nursing time of the day-care center were 510 ppm, 27.8 μg/m3, 1.87 μg/m3, and 30.6 μm2/cm3, respectively, with a similar diurnal pattern shown on weekdays.

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of simulation training using video debriefing on the self-efficacy, problem solving ability, and learning satisfaction of nursing students. Method: The study design was control group pre-and post-test non-synchronized experimental design. The sample included two teams of 138 nursing students. The experimental group provided feedback after the simulation was run, and then the team was debriefed through the video recorded video in the debriefing room, and the control group performed the oral debriefing. This study was conducted from November 10, 2015 to December 10, 2015, using descriptive statistics, χ²-test and t-test. Results: The scores of the self-efficacy, problem- solving process performance, and learning satisfaction were higher than those of the group who received the video debriefing (experimental group) than those who received the oral debriefing training (control group). Conclusion: It has been found that debriefing using video in the simulation training has a positive effect on self-efficacy, ability to perform problem solving process and improvement of learning satisfaction, so it can be utilized as an effective teaching and learning strategy and also helps strengthen nursing capacity.

        Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effects of simulation-based training for nurses on nursing stress and clinical competency of cardio-pulmonary emergency care at general wards. Method: A nonequivalent control group, with a pretest-posttest design was used. The experimental group (n=34) received a lecture and team simulation. The control group (n=36) received only lectures without simulation. Data were analyzed using Chi-square and t-test with SPSS program. Results: The participants in the experimental group reported significantly lower death and dying 13.14±1.50 (t=7.19, p<.001), conflict with physicians 7.06±2.51 (t=5.82, p<.001), inadequate preparation 6.16±4.17 (t=4.49, p<.001), problems with peers 13.33±7.05 (t=4.09, p<.001), problem relating to the supervisor 13.51±4.03 (t=2.09, p=.030), workload 17.08±6.19 (t=5.76, p<.001), uncertainty concerning treatment 12.13±6.45 (t=2.21, p=.020), patients and their families 16.37±6.38 (t=3.34, p<.001), discrimination 5.66±2.79 (t=2.39, p=.013) and higher clinical performance ability (t=5.14, p<.001) compared with the control group. Conclusion: This suggests that simulation-based training for cardio-pulmonary emergencycare for nurses at general wards is useful to decrease nursing stress and improve clinical competency.

        Purpose: This study evaluates the clinical judgment levels of nursing school students in simulation practice of diabetic ketoacidosis and score differences in clinical judgment levels based on academic record grades. Methods: The clinical judgment levels of 149 nursing students (3rd grade) who received a lecture on simulation practice for diabetic ketoacidosis simulation were evaluated during the period from March 3 to June 20, 2014. Data were collected and measured for the general characteristics, clinical judgment levels of nursing students in simulation of diabetic ketoacidosis, and difference in scores of clinical judgment levels according to grades. Results: Clinical judgment levels of these test participants was 2.82 points on average out of a full score of 4 points, and it was represented in the order of noticing (3.01), interpretation (2.86), response (2.79), and reflection (2.60) for each area. In addition, score differences in clinical judgment levels based on academic record grades were significantly higher in the upper ranks than in the lower ranks in all the areas. Conclusion: In simulation practice of this study, through observation by rubric education method, an objective recognition could be assessed and the importance of nursing knowledge was implied.

        경제적인 여유와 기대수명의 증가로 건강에 대한 관심이 증대되면서 최근 보완대체요법인 명상, 요가 , 기공 등 심신수련 프로그램이 질병의 예방과 치료에 활용되고 있다. 그 중에서 요가는 어느 한 가지 요가자세 또는 적절한 호흡조절만 가지고도 많은 육체적인 것뿐만 아니라 정신적으로도 긍정적인 효과를 얻을 수 있는 특징이 있다. 요 가의 치료적 효과로는 스트레스와 긴장을 감소시키고, 통증, 심혈관계 질환, 면역기능 등 신체적 효과와 우울, 불 안, 수면 등 심리적 효과로 대별할 수 있다. 본 연구는 요가가 건강의 중요한 지표로 작용하는 여러 가지 요인 중 정신과 신체를 포함한 전인적 간호의 실현 이라는 목표에 다가가는 방안을 모색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 요가에 관한 간호연구에서는 생애주기 별 대상자에게 적용하여 긍정적인 자아를 형성할 수 있도록 구성된 교육 과 일반적인 관심의 대상인 요가를 간호학적 시각 속에서 신체적, 심리적 특성이 반영된 요가운동으로 구성하여 현대인들의 스트레스 대처법의 개발에 기여 할 수 있을 것이다. 또한 간호실무 차원에서 요가운동은 움직임이 반 복적이고 단순하여 배우기 쉽고, 개인의 건강요구에 맞게 동작과 시간을 조절할 수 있어서 요가운동에 숙련된 간 호사가 임상현장이나 지역사회 보건소 등의 다양한 간호현장에서 대상자의 특성과 요구에 맞는 건강증진 프로그 램으로 재구성하고 적용하여 널리 활용할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of communication simulation based on for elderly sensation disorders patient. the elderly population is growing about hearing loss, cataracts on this communication simulation for a nursing student is required. Methods: A nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. A total of 46 subjects (undergraduate students) participated in they were assigned to two groups: the experimental group(n=24) the control group (n=22). Data - gathering structured questionnaires that included communication competence, academic self-efficacy, and attitude about the elderly. The data were collected and statistical analyses were conducted with x2 test and independent t-test using the SPSS 22.0 program. Results: there was significant improvement in communication competence in the experiment group (t=2.05, =.046) and attitude about the elderly (t=-2.26, p=.033). However, there was no statistically no significant in academic self-efficacy(t=1.17, p=.247) Conclusion: communication Simulation should continue to be developed further for better sensation disorders with elderly patient. Integrated education in particular using a high-fidelity simulator will contribute to improvement in nursing competence.

        Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate outcome-based delivery care with simulation in nursing student. Methods: One group pre-post design was utilized. 155 participants consisting of nursing students was recruited. The data were collected from august 25 to december 5, 2015. Five hours thirty minutes of outcome-based delivery care with simulations was operated. Results: The item showing the lowest mean score was ‘verbal communication’, the highest mean score was ‘core basic nursing skills’. Conclusion: The findings suggest that it would be useful to use the outcome-based delivery care with simulation in nursing students.

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify effect of visiting nursing simulationbased training for community nursing. Methods: Participants for this study were 56 nursing college students in Busan. Data were collected and measured for the general characteristics, students’ responses regarding simulation experience, students’ self-assessment, self-confidence, and problem solving ability. Results: In nursing college students, the scenario experience in community - based nursing simulation training was the most lacking communication area with the subject, so it was necessary to supplement it. The experience of the visiting nursing simulation scenario showed satisfactory results in all areas. The confidence of the nursing college students after learning the simulation training was 7.6 points out of ten. As a result of comparing the degree of problem solving ability before and after the simulation training, the degree of problem solving ability of the nursing college students after the training was increased compared to before the simulation training. Conclusion: Simulation training before clinical practice contributes to improvement of nursing assessment, performance, confidence and problem solving ability. Through simulation training, students will be able to provide qualitative nursing care and coping with problems from an integrated perspective.

        Purpose: The purpose of this research was to explore the experiences of simulation education to undergraduate nursing students who have defected from North Korea. Methods: Individual in-depth interviews with nine students were conducted using semi-structured interview and open question. Data were collected December 2014 to April 2015 and analyzed using Colaizzi phenomenological method. Results: Three essential themes were extracts that were as follows 1) Confronting another barrier 2) Reflecting on nursing competency through simulation education 3) Beginning of adaptation to the nursing education Conclusion: The results can contribute to an understanding of the simulation education experience of undergraduate nursing students who have defected from North Korea. In addition, these results will provide foundational data in establishing simulation education strategies to improve nursing competency, helping them adapt to nursing education in Korea.

        Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop a faculty development program for nursing simulation educators. Methods: This study developed one-day education program based on the ADDIE model. Data were collected using self-report questionnaires to investigate learners’ needs and participants’ evaluation of the pilot program. The data were analyzed using EXCEL with descriptive statistics. Results: The participants’ satisfaction with the program showed an overall high level of satisfaction. Two types of faculty development were developed based on the needs assessment. In addition, a review of the existing programs, namely, basic and advanced courses, were conducted based on the learning needs hierarchy. Conclusion: The development and pilot testing of a faculty development program for nursing simulation educators are feasible. Further research should focus on the short- or long-term evaluation of the program using the experimental research design.

        This paper aims at studying how the effects of Animal Assisted Therapy on the elderly’s depression, cognition are. The questions of this paper are as followings. 1. What is the demo-social characteristics of elderly in Uisung nursing home? 2. What are the effect of Animal Assisted Therapy on the elderly’s depression, cognition? In this paper, we collected the data by interviews through questionnaires and observations during program. The results of the analyses of the elderly in Uisung nursing home are as follows. In the demo-socio factors, the elderly’s average age is 78, The score of depression of experiment group is 47 in comparison of the previous test 52. The score of cognition is 14 in comparison of the previous test 13. Although there is a little difference between test group and experiment group in post test of MNSE-K, depression, the differences of test group and experiment group in post test of MNSE-K, depression are statistically meaningless. With a view of this point, we can conclude that we need more observation of the effect of the animal assisted therapy in nursing home Uisung area in spite of better conditions than before. The agency to solve the elderly depression, cognition in nursing home need more observation to recognize the important factors affecting the elderly’s depression, cognition in Uisung Kyungbuk Area. In reality, the elderly in nursing home feel more better than before therapy, which implication is very meaningful in elderly welfare.

        목적 : 정부는 2013년부터 ‘보호자 없는 병동’으로 지칭되는 포괄간호서비스 제도를 시범적으로 실시하고 있으며 이것을 2018년까지 모든 병원으로 확대할 계획이다. 이 제도는 입원환자에 대해 가족 구성원이 간병을 해야 한다거나 혹은 사설간병인을 고용해야 한다는 사회ㆍ경제적 부담을 줄이기 위함이 목적이 다. 하지만 보호자가 상주하지 않는다는 측면에서 환자의 낙상과 같은 안전사고에 대한 우려가 제기되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 우려를 해결하기 위한 대안을 조사해보고자 한다. 연구방법 : 이미 선진국에서는 오래전부터 포괄간호서비스 제도를 시행하고 있고 낙상예방을 위하여 병원 안내지침(guideline)을 제작하여 활용하고 있다. 이러한 낙상예방 안내지침이 우리나라에 적용 가능한지 를 알아보기 위해 미국, 영국 그리고 호주의 병원 내 낙상예방 안내지침을 분석하였다. 결과 : 미국, 영국 그리고 호주의 병원 낙상예방 안내지침에 의하면 병원 내 환자의 안전한 생활을 위하여 다학제간 보건 인력팀을 구성하여 역할을 분담하고 있다. 각 전문 인력들은 낙상의 요인들을 분야별로 접근하여 중재를 제공한다. 특히 물리치료사와 작업치료사는 노인 환자의 병원 입원에 있어서 낙상을 예 방하고, 안전한 생활을 하는데 있어 매우 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 결론 : 정부는 포괄간호서비스의 확대와 더불어 환자의 안전한 병원생활을 위해서 물리치료사와 작업치료사 가 포함된 낙상예방을 위한 안내지침을 연구 및 개발해야 할 것이다.

        Background: Team-based learning (TBL) strategy have been applied in various nursing education as focusing on what students doing in-class and how learning from their experience. The purpose of this study was to develop and apply the TBL approach to teach pain assessment and management for undergraduate nursing students. Methods: Pain management education using TBL was applied in fundamentals of nursing course and consisted of three sessions for 2nd year nursing students. For developing the TBL, instructors redesigned the course before starting the semester and collected the cases reports from clinical environment. TBL on pain management was then applied into fundamentals of nursing course for 3 weeks. After completion the TBL course, satisfaction and self-confidence were collected. Result: We designed activities in four different points of TBL course such as a) before class begins, b) preparation, c) readiness assurance, and d) application. In before class, students can be identified instructional goal of TBL and activities of each point of course with their team member. The scores of students’ satisfaction and self-confidence in learning were high. Most students were positively described their experience of TBL course on pain management. Conclusion: Based on this development process and application, TBL approach will be applicable in various nursing education for enhancing the knowledge and making a clinical decision of nursing students.

        Purpose: This study was tried to identify the effects of simulation program by applying hazard perception training on self-efficacy of patient safety, error recovery and problemsolving process in nursing students. Methods: A nonequivalent control group designed was used. The study was composed of hazard perception training and simulation program. Sixteen teams of a total of 61 nursing students participated in the simulation program using a high fidelity simulator. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, χ2-test and t-test using PASW 18.0 program. Result: There were statistically signigicant in self-efficacy of patient safety(t=2.55, p=.013), error recovery(t=2.82, p=.007), and problem-solving process(t=3.29, p=.002) in the experimental group. Conclusion: These results indicate that the simulation program by applying hazard perception training is effective in improving self-efficacy of patient safety, error recovery and problem-solving process for nursing students. Further study is recommended to confirm the long-term effects of the simulation program by applying hazard perception training.
