Considering the various health problems associated with obesity in dogs, including renal diseases, joint disorders, and skin diseases, effective management strategies and guidelines are urgently needed. This situation has led to a growing demand for veterinary medications aimed at addressing obesity in dogs. However, the field faces a significant hurdle due to the absence of standardized guidelines for assessing the effectiveness of these anti-obesity medications in dogs. In response to this gap, the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency (APQA) in Korea has made a crucial step by introducing clinical trial guidelines to evaluate the efficacy of treatments for canine obesity, specifically aimed at approving veterinary medicinal products. The guidelines outlined the selection criteria for target dogs, highlighting the importance of consistency within the control and treated groups. Treatment efficacy is subsequently evaluated by physical examination, body fat reduction, and biochemical indicators. In addition, the guidelines cover dosage and administration, monitoring after dosing, and statistical analysis. By doing so, this guideline not only highlights the significance of the APQA’s initiative in improving the care of obese dogs but also provides practical insights to enhance the standardization and effectiveness of clinical trials in veterinary medicine.
Background: Treadmill training is an effective intervention method for improving the walking ability of stroke patients, and taping is effective for stabilizing joints. However, taping interventions have not been implemented during treadmill training. Objectives: To examine whether treadmill training with an elastic tape or treadmill training with a non-elastic tape could be more effective in stroke patients. Design: A single blinded, randomized, controlled, comparative study. Methods: 22 stroke patients were randomly allocated to two groups: the elastic group (treadmill gait training with ankle elastic tape on the paretic side) or the non-elastic group (treadmill gait training with non-elastic tape on the paretic side). All participants performed 60 min of comprehensive rehabilitation therapy and treadmill training with an elastic tape or non-elastic tape for 20 min. Results: 10-meter walk test and timed up-and-go test results after training differed significantly from baseline in both groups (P<.05), but significantly larger gains were observed in the elastic group (10-meter walk test, -17.1%; timed up-and-go test, -18.49%; P<.05, respectively). Conclusion: Treadmill gait training with elastic tape on the affected ankle joint might be more effective at improving the walking and balancing abilities of stroke patients.
Animal experiments have demonstrated the effectiveness of fermented rice germ and soybean extracts in lowering blood alcohol concentration. A compound primarily derived from fermented soybean extract constitutes the principal component of DA-5521, an experimental dietary substance examined in this study. We investigated the possible hangover-alleviating effects of DA-5521 in individuals aged 19 to 50 who had previously experienced hangovers. Moreover, we enrolled 22 participants who met the eligibility criteria and conducted a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled crossover trial. Six hours after alcohol consumption, the test group exhibited a statistically significant reduction in blood acetaldehyde concentration compared with the placebo group. Further, our results displayed significantly lower levels in the DA- 5521 group at 0.50 and 0.75 h post-ingestion and substantially lower peak breath alcohol concentration compared to the placebo group. These findings confirm that consumption of DA-5521 can significantly ameliorate hangover symptoms by diminishing blood acetaldehyde concentration and reduce breath alcohol concentration.
Background: Ankle sprains occur frequently among humans who undertake various body movements. Diverse walking environments and dual tasks, that can affect ankle sprains, have been studied. However, there is a lack of research on inter-trial variability according to the changes in gait speed. Objects: The purpose of this study was to compare the adaptive ability of walking between the subjects with chronic ankle instability and healthy adults while performing a walking task with different walking speeds. Methods: In this study, 24 people in the chronic ankle instability group and 24 people in the healthy ankle group were selected as subjects. The length of the pre-measurement and the actual walking measurement were both set to 4.6 m. Once the subjects entered the measurement section, they changed their gait speed according to the randomly assigned speed change. Gait was measured twice and the average value was used for the analysis. Results: The coefficient of variation (CV) of cycle time in subjects with chronic ankle instability showed a significant difference in all cases except when the subjects changed their speed from preferred to slow and from slow to preferred. The CV of step length demonstrated a significant difference in all cases except for the change from slow to preferred and from preferred to fast. The cycle time and step length differential showed a significant difference only when the subjects changed the speed from slow to fast. Conclusion: The subjects with chronic ankle instability were found to have significantly reduced walking adaptability while performing inter-trial variability tasks with different gait speeds compared to healthy subjects.
목적: 본 연구는 가정방문 개별 작업중심회상치료와 센터기반 개별 작업중심회상치료가 지역사회 경증치매노인 의 인지기능과 일상생활활동에 미치는 영향을 비교하여 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법: 본 연구는 무작위 대조군 사전-사후 설계(randomized control group pretest-posttest design)를 적용하여 충청지역의 치매안심센터에 등록된 지역사회 거주 경증치매노인 10명을 대상으로 실험군 5명, 대조군 5명으로 배정하였다. 실험군은 가정방문 개별 작업중심회상치료, 대조군은 센터기반 개별 작업중심회상 치료를 실시하였으며, 각 중재는 총 10회기로 주 1회, 회기당 60분으로 구성되었다. 평가도구는 인지기능 평가를 위한 알렌인지수준판별검사(Allen Cognitive Level Screen, ACLS)와 일상생활활동을 평가하기 위한 노인일상활동평가-복합(Seoul-Instrumental Activities of Daily Living, S-IADL)을 사용하였다. 결과: 집단 내 전후 비교량 비교 시 ACLS는 실험군에서만 점수의 차이가 유의미하였고(p < 0.05), S-IADL은 실험군과 대조군 모두 유의미한 차이를 보였다(p < 0.05). 집단 간 변화량 비교 시 ACLS는 집단 간 차이가 유의미하였고(p < 0.05), S-IADL에서는 유의미하지 않았다(p > 0.05). 결론: 본 연구에서는 지역사회 거주 경증치매노인을 대상으로 가정방문 개별 작업중심회상치료를 적용하여 인지기능 향상에 대한 단기적인 효과를 확인하였다. 본 예비연구는 국내에서 앞으로 시행될 가정방문 인지프로 그램의 근거와 방향성을 제시하였다는 측면에서 임상적인 의미가 있다.
Although the abundance of Metapenaeus joyneri resources with high commercial value was recently confirmed in the outer waters of Gomso Bay, located between Buan-gun and Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do, Metapenaeus joyneri resources have not been efficiently utilized due to the absence of fishing gears and methods for a selective Metapenaeus joyneri capture. Therefore, in this study, we adopted shrimp dredge as a trial fishing gear for the Metapenaeus joyneri capture, and analyzed the species composition and cluster community structure of aquatic organisms caught by the shrimp dredge, from May to September 2021 at the coastal waters of Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do. During the experimental period, 28 types of marine species of 29,190 individuals and 250,136 g of total biomass were caught. Among them, the population of Metapenaeus joyneri, the target species, dominated by 80.7%, followed by Thrysa chefuensis with 7.1%, and Leiognathus nuchalis with 6.0%, confirming that the fishing ratio of Metapenaeus joyneri was the highest among all species.
Thin-film shape technology is recognized for its core technology to enhance the technology of LCD, PDP, semiconductor manufacturing processes, hard disks and optical disks, and is widely used to form coated thin films of products. In addition, resistance (electron beam filament) technology for heating is used to manufacture filament for ion implants used in semiconductor manufacturing processes. By establishing an electronic beam filament production system and developing seven specifications of electronic beam filament, it is contributing to improving trade dynamics and increasing exports to Japan through localized media of theoretical imports to domestic companies. In this study, CAE analysis was performed after setting electron beam filament specification and development objectives, facilities and fabrication for electron beam filament production, electron beam filament JIG & fixture design and fabrication followed by electron beam filament prototype. Then, the automation and complete inspection equipment of the previously developed electronic beam filament manufacturing facilities was developed and researched to mass-produce them, to analyze and modify prototypes, design and manufacture automation facilities, and finally, to design and manufacture the complete inspection equipment. In this paper, mainly jig & fixture design, production and trial production of electron beam filament were dealted with.
목적 : 작업기반 가정방문 작업치료 중재를 통해 신경행동 문제와 일상생활활동 및 작업수행에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다.
연구방법 : 본 연구는 14명을 모집하여 무작위 배분으로 실험군 7명, 대조군 7명을 나누었고, 대조군은 사전·사후 평가만 실시하였고, 실험군은 주 2회, 총 8회기동안 작업기반 가정방문 작업치료 중재를 제공
하였다.
결과 : 작업치료 중재를 실시한 실험군에서 전반적 신경행동손상의 감정적/정서적 장애, 그 밖의 장애 항목과 구체적 신경행동손상의 조직화/순서화 항목에서 유의미한 장애 감소가 나타났으며, 일상생활활동 옷 입기 항목에서도 유의미한 기능 증진이 나타났다. 작업수행에서는 수행도와 만족도 항목에서도 유의미한 증진이 나타났으며, 중재를 실시하지 않은 대조군에서는 모든 항목에서 유의미한 변화가 나타나지않았다.
결론 : 작업기반의 가정방문 작업치료 중재를 실시하여 신경행동 문제와 일상생활활동 및 작업수행의 변화를 확인하였다. 본 연구를 지역사회에 거주하는 뇌졸중 환자를 위해 다양한 중재를 적용하기 위한 근거로 활용하길 권고한다.
Background: Short foot exercise, which is an intrinsic foot muscle exercise proposed by the foot core system, is used to improve the strength of intrinsic foot muscles and sensory input and function of the foot. However, there is a lack of studies that assessed the improvement in foot function after short foot exercise in patients undergoing rehabilitation after a modified Broström operation of the ankle joint. Objectives: To investigate the effects of short foot exercise on intrinsic foot muscle cross-sectional area and balance ability in patients who had undergone a modified Broström operation of the ankle joint. Design: A single blind, randomized controlled trial. Methods: Sixteen patients who were undergoing ankle rehabilitation exercises following the modified Broström operation were randomized into two groups. General physical therapy, short foot exercises, and ankle rehabilitation programs were performed in the experimental group (n=8), whereas general physical therapy and ankle rehabilitation programs were performed in the control group (n=8). For outcome measures, the intrinsic muscles of the foot were imaged using the Sonimage HS1 musculoskeletal ultrasound system. The Y-balance test and RS-foot scan system were used to confirm dynamic balance ability and static balance ability. Results: The cross-sectional area of the abductor hallucis and dynamic balance ability significantly improved in the experimental group that underwent short foot exercise compared to the control group (P<.05). In contrast, static balance ability was not significantly different between the two groups (P>.05). Conclusion: Short foot exercise successfully increased the cross-sectional area of the abductor muscle and improved dynamic balance after a modified Broström operation
1998년 특허법원 개원에 맞추어 개정된 구 특허법(1995. 1. 5. 법률 제4892호로 개정된 것)은 심결취소소송의 심리범위에 대하여 별도로 규정을 하지 않아, 이에 대하여 무제한설, 제한설, 절충설 등의 논의가 있어 왔다. 특허법원 개원 후 특허법원의 재판실무는 무제한설로 운영되어 왔고 이후 대법원 판결에 의하여 채택됨으로써, 20 년 이상 안정적으로 운영되어 왔다. 그러나 제한 설로의 판례 변경 또는 개정론은 최근까지도 계속하여 제기되고 있어, 이 글에서는, 무제한설의 타당성에 대하여 현행법의 해석, 심결취소소송의 법적 성질, 정책적 차원에서의 이점의 측면에서 살펴보았다. 결론적으로 무제한설은 현행법 규정과 충돌하지 않고, 심결취소소송 역시 행정소송이라는 점에서 일반 행정소송에서와 달리 주장⋅증명을 제한하려면 합당한 근거가 필요해 보인다. 그러나 특허무효 소송 등의 전문성을 고려하여 필요적 전치주의를 취한 취지를 고려하더라도, 현재의 특허심판원의 지위나 독립성, 전문성만으로는 1심급의 사실심 재판을 생략하는 것에서 더 나아가 그에 대한 사법 심사를 제한하기에는 그 정당성이 부족해 보인다. 제한설로의 개정은 소송 경제 및 분쟁의 일회적 해결에도 부합하지 않고, 이미 침해소송에서는 권리남용 항변이나 권리범위 부인 판단의 전제로서 특허의 무효사유에 대하여 심리 판단하고 있으며, 2016년부터는 침해 소송의 항소심이 특허법원의 전속관할로 지정되었다는 점과도 균형이 맞지 않는다.
관련하여 심결취소소송의 심리범위에 관한 무제한설은 심판절차에서 제기되지 않은 주장⋅증거의 제출을 허용한다는 점에서, 심결취소소송의 법적 성질 및 구조에 의해 심결 이후 새롭게 제출된 주장과 증거가 제한되는 상황에서 무제한설과 혼동하여 잘못된 판단에 이르거나, 제한설을 취하였다고 오해하는 경우를 볼 수 있다. 이 글에서는 심결취소소송의 심리범위의 문제와 구별되는 심결취소소송의 법적 성질 및 구조에 의한 새로운 주장⋅증거 제출의 제한 국면에 대하여 구체적 사례와 함께 살펴보았다.
이 글이 20년 이상 계속되어 온 심결취소소송의 심리범위에 관한 제한설과 무제한설의 지겨운 논쟁을 뒤로 하고, 특허심판원의 독립성과 전문성 제고, 특허법원 심리절차의 개선과 같은 생산적인 논의에 집중하는데 도움이 되었으면 한다. 또한, 무제한설과 심결취소소송에 대한 이해에도 도움이 되길 바란다.
The main purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between the consumption of red ginseng-based ‘SSR’ for 30 days and the reduction in human fatigue, blood component changes, and immune cell activity in 35 human subjects. ‘SSR’ is composed of zinc oxide, folic acid, and D-α-tocopherol with red ginseng as the main component. According to the protocol criteria of the study, 35 subjects who understood the purpose of the study and signed an informed consent form were selected. The fatigue survey was conducted through a questionnaire, and after taking ‘SSR', a decreased tendency of physical, mental, and neurosensory fatigue was observed. In hematological analysis, no significant changes were observed in the levels of WBC, RBC, and hemoglobin; however, AST (SGOT) and ALT (SGPT) levels were statistically significantly decreased. In immunological analysis, it was observed that the proliferative effect of T cells (CD3+CD4+) was greater than that of NK cells (CD16+CD56+). The collected data were subjected to t-test analysis using the SPSS 25.0 statistical program. The result from this study proposes that ‘SSR’ can be used as a functional food material as it reduces human fatigue and enhances immune function.
Background: Although studies have been conducted on muscle thickness and balance in trunk stabilization exercise and exercise using vibration props, studies on trunk stabilization exercise using active vibration for spinal alignment are still insufficient to draw a conclusion.
Objectives: To investigate the effect of trunk stabilization exercise using active vibration on the spinal alignment in adult females.
Design: A randomized controlled trial.
Methods: Twenty-six adult females were randomly assigned to the experimental group (active vibration) and 13 control groups (active non-vibrating) and exercised three times a week for 8 weeks. Each group was measured for spinal alignment before exercise and 8 weeks after exercise. Spinal alignment, trunk imbalance, pelvic tilt, and pelvic torsion were measured using a spinal alignment analyzer.
Results: Trunk imbalance was a significantly different depending on the time in the experimental group and the control group (P<.05). Pelvic tilt was a significant difference between the groups (P<.05). Also, pelvic tilt was a significantly different depending on the time in the experimental group (P<.05), but the control group showed no significant difference (P>.05). Pelvic torsion was no significant difference in both groups (P>.05).
Conclusion: This study demonstrates that trunk stabilization exercise using active vibration has a positive effect on the alignment of the spine.
Valves are widely used in various industrial fields, such as plants, vessels and shipbuilding. In particular, the performance of the valve is an important factor that can influence the performance of the entire system. Therefore, in this basic study to establish a national technical qualification in the domestic field of valve maintenance, demands for the fields of valves and major congruence were analyzed focusing on the industrial facility curriculum of Korea Polytechnics, and level-differentiated trial examinations were applied to relevant majors to standardize the developed valve tester. The trial examination result displayed that in the highest level of difficulty, in the medium level of difficulty and in the lowest level of difficulty, the pass rate was 0%, 17.86% and 39.29% respectively.
아자리아 챔버레인 실종 사건은 미디어 재판의 대표적인 사례이다. 미디어 담론의 중점을 사건 연루자들에 둔 기사들은 부정적 암시를 내포하는 은유와 문장구조를 통해 편견을 조장하였다. 미디어가 선동한 여론에 의해 챔버레인 가족은 용의자로 몰렸고 그들의 종교 또한 광신적 집단이라는 부당한 비난을 받았다. 결국 아자리아의 부모는 유죄를 선고 받았으나, 증거가 불충분했고 재판 과정과 선고방식이 정당하지 않았다는 근거로 대항 공론 운동이 전개되었다. 챔 버레인 부부의 무죄 판결 이후에도 미디어 재판에 맞서는 시도는 계속되고 있다. 이 사건의 전모는 대중이 넘쳐나는 선정적 뉴스로부터 진실을 구별할 수 있게 하는 교육의 중요성을 시사한다. 종교적, 사회적 편견의 피해자들을 지지하 기 위하여 시민의식을 고양시키고 대항 공론의 장을 정착시키는 일 또한 필요 할 것이다.
Sea trial tests are necessary to verify speed-power performance, and are an import contract between ship owners and shipyards. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) published ISO 15016:2015, which specifies the correlation method between model and full-scale ships. The results of sea trials have been questioned because of the uncertainty of speed and power measurements, especially when sea conditions differ from ideal calm water conditions. In this paper, such uncertainties were investigated by utilizing the standard speed-power trial analysis procedure defined in ISO 15016:2015 through Monte Carlo simulations. It was found that the expanded uncertainty of the delivered power (PDid) at 95 % confidence interval (k = 2) was ±1.5 % under 75 % MCR conditions.
