As the usage of supplementary additives such as blast furnace slag and fly ash for concrete was increased, the carbonation of concrete has been a problem. Hence, in this research, as a solution of carbonation of the high-volume supplementary additive concrete, the effect of waste oil based liniment on carbonation and chloride resistivity was analyzed when it applied on the surface of the concrete.

Due to the increasingly serious environmental problems presented by waste tires, the feasibility of using elastic and flexible tire-rubber particles as aggregate in concrete is investigated in this study. Tire-rubber particles is composed of tire chips, crumb rubber, and a combination of tire chips and crumb rubber. Experimental work of Waste Rubber Particle Reinforced Mortar(WRPRM) have been conducted in the form of cube specimens [50mm x 50mm x 50mm], beam specimens [40mm x 40mm x 160mm] mixed with 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% of rubber particle. We executed test for compression strength test, bending strength test on 7 days, 14days, 28days and percentage of moisture content test on 28days after initial curing. In this study, We studied the initial strength of WRPRM. But, in order to understand the reinforcing effect of the rubber particles, we need to execute a test of Waste Rubber Particle Reinforced Concrete(WRPRC).

The study on physical properties of PHC pile and pile filler using blast furnace slag were evaluated. In the results, it was found that compressive strength and workability of PHC pile concrete with 20% of blast furnace slag adjusted S/a 27% were satisfied with desired properties and it was available to improve flow and compressive strength of file filler with 35% of blast furnace slag and TG as additive.

To examine the in-place strength development of concrete of nuclear containment structures with the wall thickness of 1200 mm, mock-up wall specimens were prepared. For maturity evaluation, the temperature rise in the wall specimens owing to hydration heat of cementitious materials was also measured. The in-place strength of concrete was measured using core specimens collected at different locations of mock-up walls. Test results showed that in-place compressive strength development was 1.5 times higher than the strength measured from the standard cylinders. This indicates the maturity effect is needed to be considered in predicting the compressive strength development of concrete in mass structures.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the factor of determining chloride content in fresh concrete. Usually, in construction field, ion electrode method is used as a test for chloride content. As a result of this study, Ion electrode has a problem of interfering ion effect and requires special care in handling.

In this study, improving insulation of concrete, we developed insulated concrete and applied it in the field to reduce amount of energy. As a result, we could get the physical and performance similar to normal concrete's performance and the amount of energy is expected to decrease for improving insulation performance.

As a result of strength test on FA and BFS, FA concrete showed higher increase of strength compared to OPC, when FA4000 and FA5000 were mixed 30%, respectively. For BFS concrete, those mixed with 30% and 50% of BFS8000, respectively, showed higher or equivalent strength compare to OPC. As a result of test of chloride penetration on FA and BFS, diffusion coefficients of concrete mixed with 30% FA4000 and FA5000, respectively, showed to restrain average 6.5% of diffusion coefficient compared to OPC. And in case of BFS concrete, those mixed with BFS6000 and BFS8000, restrained diffusion of chloride ions 253% and 336%, respectively, compared to OPC. Therefore, Mixing 50% of BFS was most efficient in order to maximize restraint of chloride penetration according to metathesis of large amount.

This study presents the seismic safety evaluation of weir structures subjected to earthquakes. In order to conduct the numerical analysis using KBC 2009 design spectrum, simple linear elastic 2D plane strain Finite Element (FE) model was modeled in ABAQUS. the results obtained from numerical analysis noted that the weir structure was more sensitive to tensile stress than compressive stress.

In order to evaluate the seismic safety of weir structure subjected to seismic ground motions, simple linear elastic 2D plane strain Finite Model (FE) was developed in ABAQUS platform. Also, the 1994 Northridge earthquake as a ground motion uncertainty was selected. The numerical results showed that the compressive stress was significantly increased in comparison to the results from the design spectrum analysis but the horizontal displacement was reduced about 28%.

The purpose of this paper is to check the safety of the scaffold structures used wire rope. The structural safety on the scaffold structures with wire rope and boiler furnace was evaluated. As a results, all assessment structures with wire ropes were checked to be safe.

In general, polymer cement slurry(PCS) that is made from organic polymer dispersion and cement has good adhesion to steel and cement concrete. Bond strength of PCS-coated rebar is better than that of plain rebar and epoxy-coated rebar. The maximum bond strength of PCS-coated rebar at curing age of 1-day or 3-hour is almost same as that of curing age of 7-day and 28-day. It is possible that PCS-coated rebar with coating thickness of 100㎛ at curing age of 1-day and 3-hour can replace epoxy-coated rebar. It is also apparent that the choice of curing age and coating thickness is very important to improve the bond strength of PCS-coated rebar to cement concrete.

This study is the study of the chlorine ion penetration resistance of the study of the natural durability enhancement materials that can reduce cracking of the concrete. The durability enhancement materials of natural were substituted 10%, 20%, 30% of cement, the results were confirmed excellent chlorine ion penetration resistance as the more increasing the natural durability enhancement.

Effects of recycled fine aggregate on the behavior of cement-based mortar were evaluated with different compressive strengths through experiments. It can be observed that recycled fine aggregate can be useful to fabricate precast concrete products in terms of having mortar strength equivalent to natural aggregate.

It has been investigated an enquete on the application of recycled aggregate for precast concrete. The results of this investigation shall be used as basic data of preparing a specification for recycled aggregate's quality control.

Because aging sewer on the ground due to cavitation are a lot of social problems occur, the existing aging pipes are to be replaced. But is not easy to accurately detect the aging water and sewage pipes. In this research, we present a technique that can detect defective sewerage pipes used in GPR through Test-bed, which can be used as urban planning resources for water supply and drainage pipes replaced.

Autogenous shrinkage isn't currently defined in Korean Highway Bridge Specifications. Accordingly, the structural analysis was carried out to reflect the contents on the autogenous shrinkage of the Eurocode(fib Bulletin 55 : Model code 2010). As a result, we examined the possible initial crack caused by the autogenous shrinkage.

Concrete indicates highly alkaline through hydration reaction of mortars that were attached to the RCA's surface. In this study, the carbonation of concrete incorporating coated RCA was investigated through accelerated carbonation test. As a results, coated RCA was indicated to be better than normal RCA.

This paper was examined the mechanical properties of concrete using rapid cooling slag as fine aggregate for concrete. The results of experiments, concrete using rapid cooling slag showed that mechanical properties was equal to concrete using normal fine aggregate.

This study proposes the equation of development length of GFRP bar using regression analysis and each variable(concrete compression strength, the position of the GFRP bar, cross sectional area) in the equation of development length confirms the effect on the development length. If the bar is located in the lower, development length is shorter. In the case of concrete compression strength is the bigger, the development length get the shorter. But the case of cross sectional area has a minimal effects on the development length.

Earthquakes are very dangerous. They exemplify the true power of nature and cannot be avoid. Coupled shear walls are walls connected by moment- resisting members. The main subject investigated in this research project is the influence of steel fibers on the behaviour of coupling beams in shear.
