마약류나 유해화학 물질의 남용에 의한 중독은 사용물질의 종류에 상관없이 질병으로 간주되어야 하고 약물남용자의 치료와 재활은 하나의 일관된 개념에 의해 통합적으로 다루어져야 할 필요가 있다. 그러나 현재 우리나라 약물남용자의 처벌과 치료․재활은 각기 다른 법률에서 다루어지고 있으며 그 처우의 정도가 서로 다르게 규정되어 있고 누락되어 있는 경우도 있다. 또한 치료보호규정이 있는 경우에도 치료와 보호는 형식적으로 운용되고 있어서 중독에 대한 진정한 치료가 불가능하고 재범과 재발을 반복하고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 미국의 약물법정제도를 분석하여 우리나라의 약물법정제도 운영에 관한 도입 방안을 제시하였다. 특히 본 연구에서는 구체적인 서비스 흐름을 보다 명확하게 하기 위하여 서비스의 전문성, 적절성, 포괄성, 그리고 통합성 등의 서비스 전달체계 중심으로 분석하였다.
본 연구는 개 체외성숙 난자를 안정적으로 생산하기 위하여 채취시기, 난구세포 부착 여부 및 배양액에 EGF와 호르몬을 첨가 후 배양했을 때 체외성숙율에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 1. 미성숙 난포란을 TCM-199 배양액에서 24, 45시간 배양했을 때 체외성숙율은 각각 7.93%, 8.94%로서 48시간 배양했을 때 가장 높은 체외성숙율을 나타냈다. 2. 휴지기, 난포기, 황체기에 채취한 난소로부터 회수한 난자를 20 ng/ml의 EGF가 첨가된 TC
This paper reports a simple rearing system for Cnaphalocrocis medinalis based on com seedlings diet. C. medinalis population under this system has been maintained by four stages (egg, young larva-1st to 3rd instar, old larva-4th to prepupa, and adult) at 25±2℃, 40±10% RH, and 16L:8D photoperiod in a laboratory. We have elaborated a new egg collection method using a polystyrene container (top Ø11.3 × bottom Ø9 × H8㎝) which has made a great contribution in easy collection of eggs and storage of them for long period. Under this system, pupation and adult emergence rate and pupal weight of C. medinalis population were close to the other reports by corn seedling diet and superior to those by artificial diets. Therefore this rearing system would be useful in obtaining C. medinalsis population suitable to each specific needs.

Recently, indoor air quality (IAQ) in workplace, residence, and schools has been one of the major concerns of people, scientists and the related public. This study was performed to investigate the characteristics of indoor air quality(IAQ) in kindergartens, elementary school, middle schools, and high schools from June 2004 to May 2005 in Korea. We measured indoor air pollutants such as PM10, CO2, formaldehyde, total bacteria colony(TBC), CO, radon, total volatile organic compounds(TVOCs), asbestos, and O3 from school classrooms. The subjects were classified by building year based on the time span of 1, 1 - 3, 3 - 5, and 5 - 10 years. The levels of pollutants and physical factor in schools were compared with standards and guidelines of indoor air quality on the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Ministry of Education, and Human Resources Development of Korea. The major results obtained from this study can be summarized as follows. Asbestos and O3 were not detected in all surveyed classrooms. However, we were able to detect CO, TBC, TVOCs, and formaldehyde in kindergartens, TBC in elementary schools, TBC, TVOCs and formaldehyde in middle schools, and formaldehyde in high schools. This study was conducted to provide a basis for the management IAQ in school. Therefore, we suggest that a national plan for the management of IAQ in school should be established through a long-term, continuous investigation for the proper assessment of IAQ in school and for the health risk assessment for student.
In this study, we identified the odor active compounds among MVOCs (Microbial Volitile Organic Compounds) emitted from Geotrichum sp. which was previously identified as the main kinds of mold in indoor air. To sample the odor active compounds emitted from Geotrichum sp. while metabolizing, head space-solid phase microextraction (HS-SPME) method, which is well known for sampling odorants, was used.
GC/Flame Ionization Detector/Olfactometry was used to identify main odor active compounds. GC/Atomic Emission Detector was used to identify if some compounds had atoms like oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur which are typically found from odorants. GC/Mass Spectrometry was used to identify the odorants. Finally, Retention Index (RI) of each system was verified. In this study, hydrogen sulfide, methanthiol, 1-butanol, carbon disulfide, dimethyl sulfide, dimethyl disulfide, S-methyl thiobutyrate, dimethyl trisulfide, geosmin were identified as MVOCs. Among them, identified main odor active compounds were dimethyl disulfie and dimethyl trisulfide which induce ordure smell and geosmin which induce moldy, earthy smell.
Catch of garden thrips, Frankliniella intonsa, on sticky traps was assessed by color and height in commercial plastic vinyl house strawberry crops grown on 40-㎝-high trellises. Yellow, blue and white sticky cards were tested for color attractiveness, and upper (50 ㎝), lower (10 ㎝ above the floor) and ground were for height. At each height, trapped thrips on yellow, blue and white were significantly different. Blue sticky cards were significantly greater than traps on yellow and white. The trapped thrips were also significantly greatest at 50 ㎝ above the floor, less at lower and ground. However, there is no significantly different the population of garden thrips on the flower in each tested site.
In this paper, exposure levels of electromagnetic field were measured in residential environments and from appliances. First, the measurements of residential environments were taken in central locations in bedroom, living room, and kitchen in each home. Both arithmetic and geometric mean of normal-power condition are higher than low-power condition (all electrical devices turned off/unplugged), and the background fields in homes show a geometric mean of about 0.022 uT. Second, we measured broadband magnetic fields of domestic appliances at various distances. The highest magnetic field is 44.3 uT from the microwave oven, and the lowest is 1.4 uT from the Kimchi Refrigerator. The magnitude of magnetic fields from appliances dropped off at a rate inversely proportional to distance, but the ratio of drop-off on Korean appliances is lower than US and UK
This study was performed to investigate the concentration levels of CO2 and the associated parameters in the subway from lines 1 to 8 in Seoul metropolitan area, during 1 to 30 Sept. 2005. CO2 concentration was measured at the entrance and center in subway passenger cabin by non-dispersive infrared analyser. The associated parameters for CO2 were estimated based on the number of passenger, open and closed doors etc. The mean CO2 concentrations were measured to be 1,646±712 ppm in subway passenger cabins. The CO2 concentrations showed the highest values between 7 and 9 AM in rush hour(p〈0.01). The correlation coefficient between CO2 and the number of passenger was highly significant(r=0.824). The general linear model indicated that subway line, subway location (ground and underground tract), and measurement point (enterance and center of cabins) and running time (morning and afternoon) significantly influenced the concentrations of CO2. An extended study is needed to examine the sources of CO2 in subway cabins and to compare pollutants concentration among subway lines.
고속도로는 건조시 많은 차량의 운행으로 인하여 오염물질의 축적이 높고, 강우시 불투수율이 높아 다량의 강우유출 수가 발생하는 지역이다. 특히 고속도로에서 발생하는 중금속, 각종 독성물질 및 입자상 오염물질들은 유출시 생태계에 큰 영향을 끼치게 된다. 따라서 본 논문은 2005년 개정된 수질환경보전법 및 비점오염원 관리 지침에 의거하여 바람직한 친환경적 고속도로 건설 및 유지관리를 위한 기초자료 제공을 위하여 수행된 연구이다. 이러한 기초자료를 확보하기 위하여 국내 4개 고속도로 지역에서 강우시 모니터링이 수행되었으며, 그 결과를 본 논문에 정리하고자 한다. 건조시에 축적된 각종 오염물질들은 강우 시작과 함께 고속도로로부터 유출되게 되는데, 특히 강우 초기에 다량의 오염물질 유출이 발생하는 초기강우 현상을 모니터링을 통하여 확인하였다. 유출되는 오염물질의 95% 신뢰 범위를 살펴보면, TSS의 경우 154.7-257.1 mg/L, COD가 138.9-197.6 mg/L, oil & grease가 3.5-6.4 mg/L, TN이 6.3-9.2 mg/L 그리고 TP는 2.3-3.31 mg/L의 범위를 나타냈다. 대부분의 모니터링에서 초기강우 현상이 발생하였으며, 이러한 초기강우는 강우지속시간 30분 이내에 대부분 끝나는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 본 논문은 방대한 모니터링 자료를 통계 분석하여 그 결과를 정리였는데, 이는 향후 고속도로 오염물질 처리 및 저감 시설 설치시 중요한 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
숙취해소용 음료로 개발된 건강음료를 각각 알코올(5 g/kg B.W, 40%) 투여 30분 전과 후에 경구적으로 섭취시키고(10 mL/kg) 시간(1, 3 및 5)에 따라 미동맥으로 채혈하여 혈액 중 알코올 농도와 아세트알데히드 농도, 간 조직 중 알코올 대사효소 alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) 및 aldehyde dehydrogenase(ALDH)의 활성과 간기능 지표 효소(ALT, AST)의 활성 변동을 측정 비교하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 알코올 투여 30분 전에 건강음료를 공급하였을 때 혈액 중 알코올 농도는 알코올 투여 1시간 후부터 모든 군에서 급격하게 감소하였으며 알코올 투여 5시간째에 알코올 대조군(EC)에 비해 건강음료 투여군(BE)은 48.4%정도 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 또한 아세트알데히드 농도는 알코올 대조군(EC)에 비해 건강음료 투여군(BE)은 15.6%, 타사제품 투여군(P)은 20.3% 낮았다. 알코올 투여 30분 후 숙취해소 음료를 공급하고 5시간 경과 후 건강음료 투여군(AE)의 알코올 농도는 알코올 대조군(EC)에 비해 65.2% 낮은 수치를 나타내었다. 아세트알데히드 농도는 알코올 대조군에 비해 건강음료 투여군(AE)은 36.4% 낮은 0.21 mg/dL 타사제품투여군(P)은 24.2% 낮은 0.25 mg/dL를 나타내었다. 간 조직 중 ADH 활성은 정상군과 알코올을 섭취 한 모든 실험군 사이에 별다른 변동을 관찰할 수 없었다. 숙취해소 음료의 1회 섭취와 체중 1 kg당 5 g의 알코올 1회 투여가 알코올 대사 효소의 활성에 영향을 미치지 못함을 시사하고 있다. 혈청 ALT, AST 활성은 정상군과 알코올 투여 실험군간에 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았으며 또 건강음료의 음용이 정상적인 간 기능에 영향을 미치지 않는 결과를 볼 때 안전성이 인정된다고 생각된다.
Since ultrasound has different reflections depending on components of organization, analysis of ultrasound images of skeletal muscle can offer both quantitative and qualitative reports as concerns skeletal muscle structure. This study is focused on the ultrasound method for evaluating the structural characteristics of skeletal muscle and also conducted to examine its practicality. After obtaining images of the elbow flexors from an ultrasound image device with 88 normal subjects whose ages were between twenty and seventy years old (44 men and 44 women), muscular density and white area index (WAI) which indicated structural characteristics of skeletal muscle were analyzed with gray scale analysis. The study examined correlations between subject's age and items which obtained from measuring ultrasound images and the differences in relations to sex and age. Muscular density and WAI had a high correlation with age and were significantly increased in men and women with greater age. The quantitative evaluation method of skeletal muscle structure which analyzed the ultrasound images has high practicality because it is a non-invasive method which complements physical therapy diagnosis and research methods and promotes functionality evaluation.
Osteoporosis is the most prevalent metabolic bone disease and is characterized by diminished bone strength predisposing to an increased risk of fracture. Thus, this study was performed (1) to examine the effect of aquatic exercise on osteoporosis caused by an ovariectomy in the rats, and (2) to elucidate involvement of histopathologic findings in mediating these actions. The results of this study were as follows: 1. Body weight of the subjects increased after the experiment. There was a statistically significant difference (p<.05) between Group I (sham operated) and Group II (control group). 2. In respect to the length, circumference and weight of the femur, there was no statistically significant difference between the control group and the other groups (p>.05). 3. With the osteocalcin level used as one of the bone formation indexes the bone mineral density increased in every group in comparison with the control group, and in particular, there was a statistically significant difference between Group III and Group IV. The above results suggest that aquatic exercise treatment is effective in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.
