반려동물산업은 지속적으로 성장하였으며, 2020년에는 반려동물 관련 시장규모가 5조 8,000억 원으로 성장할 것으로 예상된다. 하지만 반려동물 산업이 지속적으로 성장한 것에 비해, 반려동물 문화의 수준은 성숙하지 못하다. 반면에 해외의 반려동물 시장은 우리 나라보다 크고, 반려동물 문화 또한 성숙한 문화가 자리 잡고 있다. 그래서 해외 반려동물 문화 관련 현황 파악을 통해서 국내 반려동물 문화 발전을 위해 제안할 수 있는 것을 알아 보고자 총설논문을 작성하였다. KISS, DBpia, RISS, 원광대학교 중앙도서관에서 자료를 검색하였으며 자료들을 크게 국･내외 반려동물산업, 국･내외 반려동물문화, 국･내외 반려 동물 관련법과 정책으로 분류하였다. 연구결과, 우리나라의 올바른 반려동물 문화를 정착 시키기 위해서는 개선되어야 하는 점이 많았으며, 해외의 반려동물 문화를 통해 발전될 수 있다는 점이 많다고 판단된다.

‘반려동물 가구 1천만 시대’, ‘4가구 중 1가구가 반려동물 가구’. 이제 반려동물과 함께 사는 사람을 보는 것이 흔한 일이 되었다. 반려동물 가구가 전폭적으로 증가하고 있는 추세임에도 불구하고 반려문화의 발전 속도가 현저히 뒤쳐져 위와 같이 반려견의 공공장소 이용에 대한 반려인과 비반려인 간의 갈등이 심화되고 있다. 때문에 반려인과 비반려인간의 갈등을 해소하여야 할 필요성을 느껴 이를 위해 국내 반려견 공공장소 이용에 대한 비반려인의 인식을 조사하고자 하였다. 본 논문은 설문조사를 통해 진행되었으며, 공공장소 중 반려인과 비반려인의 접촉이 가장 빈번한 공원, 인도, 내부 공공장소, 공동주택, 대 중교통을 선정하여 각 장소에 따른 인식을 조사하였다. 설문조사 결과 각 장소마다 비반려인이 반려인과 반려견에 대해 가지고 있는 인식과 요구사항이 다르다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 예상 외로 반려견 자체에 대하여 부정적으로 보는 사람보다 긍정적으로 보는 사람이 다수였다. 반려견의 공공장소 이용을 부정적으로 보는 사람 중에서는 반려견에 대한 인식부족으로 인한 편견을 이유로 드는 한편 반려인의 펫티켓 부족, 반려견 관리 미흡을 이유로 들기도 했다. 이를 개선하기 위해 각 지방자치단체에 동물보호과가 신설 및 증설을 통해 처벌뿐만 아니라 목줄 미착용과 같은 동물보호법 위법행위에 대한 감시 감독 또한 강화해야 한다. 더불어 국가적 차원에서 국민을 대상으로 인간과 동물의 공존을 위한 교육이 시행되어야 한다. 동시에 반려인을 대상으로 한 올바른 펫티켓을 비롯한 반려동물 관리에 대한 교육이 필요하다.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate differences in nursing performance of nursing college students following simulator training or video-based training for patients with respiratory distress. Methods: The study used a two-group post-intervention design. The simulator group was trained using a high-fidelity simulator and the video group with a best practices video. Nursing ability was evaluated by video recording participants during a dyspnea simulation exercise. The collected data was analyzed with a t-test using SPSS 21. Results: The simulator group showed lower scores than the video group in the preparation (t = -4.60, p < .001) and nursing intervention (t = -2.41, p = .033) categories. Conclusion: Video training is effective for simulation education in cases of dyspnea.

This study investigated a bio-tensegrity structural system that combines the characteristics of a general tensegrity structural system with a biological system. The final research objective is to accomplish a changeability for the structural system as like the movement of the natural bio-system. In the study, we present a shape finding procedure for the two stage bio-tensegrity system model inspired by the movement pattern of animal backbone. The proposed system is allowing a dynamic movement by introducing the concept of “saddle” for the variable bio-tensegrity structure. Several shape finding analysis example and results are presented and shows a efficient validation and suitability.

The O2 and CO2 concentrations in controlled atmosphere (CA) rooms are determined by the respiration of produce like apples and the airtightness of the CA room, with gas in the CA room controlled by O2 and CO2 removal as well as respiration (CO2 increase and O2 decrease). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the validity of the gas exchange model for O2 removal, CO2 removal, the rate of O2 decrease and CO2 increase by respiration of apples, and airtightness of the CA room. It took 17.5 hours to reduce O2 concentration from 20.9% to 2.0% after loading 4.3 tons of Fuji apples into the CA room, which was 4.2 hours longer than the 13.3 hours of the model formula. After the CO2 concentration rose to 0.5% due to respiration, it took 4.7 hours to lower the CO2 concentration to 0.2%, which was 0.6 hours longer than that of the model equation. The rate of CO2 increase by respiration was 0.021%/ h, which was similar to the model equation (0.017%/h). Also after 4.7 hours, the O2 concentration decreased by 0.1% which was also in line with the model equation (0.13%/h).
