        In recent years, the United States has used the Load Duration Curve (LDC) method to identify water pollution problems, considering the size of the pollutant load in the entire stream flow condition to effectively evaluate Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs). A study on the improvement of the target water quality evaluation method was carried out by comparing evaluations of two consecutive years of water quality and LDC data for 41 unit watersheds (14 main streams and 27 tributaries). As a result, the achievement rate of the target water quality evaluation method, according to current regulations, was 68-93%, and that by the LDC method was 82-93%. Evaluating the target water quality using the LDC method results in a reduction in the administrative burden and the total amount of planning as compared to the current method.

        To certificate change in the geochemical characteristics of surface sediments in the main stream of the Nakdong River, surface sediments from 12 sampling sites during the first and second half year (total 24 sampling sites) were collected and analyzed for grain size, ignition loss, total organic carbon and heavy metal content. Surface sediments mainly composed of sand (coarse and medium sand) and fining changed from the first half to the second half of the year. Ignition loss, total organic carbon and heavy metals content increased in the second half of the year. Some heavy metals (Zn, Ni and Cu) were found to be at the lowest effect levels according to Ontario sediment quality guidelines. Additionally, most heavy metals were found to be at the non polluted level and level I according to USEPA sediment quality standards and National Institute of Environmental Research sediment pollution evaluation standard, respectively. The enrichment factor (< 1) and index of geoaccmulation (< 0) were non polluted in the study area. The correlation analysis results showed that ignition loss, total organic carbon and heavy metal content were highly correlated with grain size. Regarding changes in geochemical characteristics of surface sediments in the study area, grain size fine and organic matter and heavy metal content increased in the second half year. Nonetheless these results indicated pollution levels that did not adversely affect the benthos.

        This study was performed to analyze the effects of a water circulation green area plan on non-point source pollution in Gimhae South Korea. A quantitative analysis of Arc-GIS data was conducted by applying a watershed model based on Fortran to investigate the changes to direct runoff and pollution load. Results showed that prior to the implementation of the water circulation green area plan in Gimhae, direct runoff was 444.05 m3/year, total biological oxygen demand (BOD) pollution load was 21,696 kg/year, and total phosphorus (TP) pollution load was 1,743 kg/year. Implementation of the development plan was found to reduce direct runoff by 2.27%, BOD pollution load by 1.16% and TP pollution load by 0.19% annually. The reduction in direct runoff and non-point source pollution were attributed to improvements in the design of impermeable layers within the city.

        범정부적으로 2016년부터 유기성 폐수슬러지 해양배출이 전면 금지되고 육상처리를 권장하고 있어 주로 산업체에서 배출하는 폐수슬러지 육상처리 비용이 지속적으로 증가할 것으로 예상되며 따라서 슬러지 처리의 어려움으로 산업체의 경쟁력을 저하할 것으로 예상된다. 산업폐수 및 일부 하수슬러지에는 다양한 중금속과 미생물 분해가 어려운 유기물이 다량 포함되어 있어 기존 기술로 처리가 곤란한 실정이다. 육상처리 기술 중에서 비용이 저렴한 방법은 주로 매립에 준하는 것이므로 슬러지에 포함된 유기물에 의해 지구온난화지수(GWP)가 이산화탄소보다 21배 높은 메탄을 다량 배출하고 있으며, 중금속에 의한 지하수와 토양 오염이 우려된다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 중금속 함유 산업슬러지를 건조 후 용융로에서 보조연료와 열분해 가스로 1,500℃이상의 고온 화염을 형성하여 폐수슬러지에 포함된 회분과 중금속을 용융 슬래그로 배출․유리화함으로써 분진 발생 감소와 회분에 포함된 중금속성분의 용출을 방지할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 건조 폐수슬러지를 용융하기 위하여 용융로 및 2차버너를 제작하여 용융실험을 수행하였으며, 열 회수 장치를 설치하여 열 회수 실험 또한 수행하였다.

        The purpose of the present study is to examine characteristics of hydrogen sulfide adsorption using iron-activated carbon composite adsorbents prepared by ferric nitrate and ferric chloride. Prepared adsorbents were discussed on H2S adsorption capacity. Also, adsorbents were analyzed by surface analysis methods for illustrating the physical characteristics of H2S adsorption. The breakthrough tests of H2S were conducted at 3,333 ppm of inlet concentration, demonstrating that the adsorption capacity for iron-activated carbon composite adsorbents was in order of FC_AC (Ferric chloride_Activated carbon), FN_AC (Ferric nitrate_Activated carbon), FC (Ferric chloride) and FN (Ferric nitrate). Adsorption capacity of FC was 0.06 g/g, whereas FC_AC showed the highest capacity of 0.171 g/g. All adsorbents exhibited the amorphous type in physical appearance based on XRD analysis and high Fe content based on EDS analysis. The surface areas of composites were increased by adding activated carbon, exhibiting better adsorption capacity.

        In order to certificate the distribution and pollution of heavy metal of surface sediments in Nakdong River were collected and analyzed for grain size, water content, ignition loss and heavy metal content. Surface sediments mainly composed of sand(avg. 94.6%) and water content and ignition loss were 20.46%, 1.53% on average. Grain size were relatively fine and organic matter content were relatively high in the Hoichun and Sunakdonggang. Most of heavy metal content(Zn > Cr > Pb > Ni > Cu > Hg) in the Deokcheongang and Sunakdonggang were higher than the other streams. The Igeo were non polluted(less than 0) in all streams and the EF were relatively high in the small stream and PLI were non polluted(less than 1). In addition, organic matter, heavy metal content and pollution were highly correlation with grain size. Surface sediments in study area, heavy metal pollution of the Sunakdonggang were relatively high compared to the other stream but these results were not serious pollution that exceed the sediment pollution evaluation standard of river and lake in Korea and pollution levels adversely affected the majority of benthos were not.

        In this study, it is an object to develop a regression model for the estimation of TOC (total organic carbon) concentration using investigated data for three years from 2010 to 2012 in the Gam Stream unit watershed, and applied in 2009 to verify the applicability of the regression model. TOC and CODMn (chemical oxygen demand) were appeared to be derived the highest correlation. TOC was significantly correlated with 5 variables including BOD (biological oxygen demand), discharge, SS (suspended solids), Chl-a (chlorophyll a) and TP (total phosphorus) of p<0.01. As a result of PCA (principal component analysis) and FA (factor analysis), COD, TOC, SS, discharge, BOD and TP have been classified as a first factor. TOCe concentration was estimated using the model developed as an independent variable BOD5 and CODMn. R squared value between TOC and measurement TOC is 0.745 and 0.822, respectively. The independent variable were added step by step while removing lower importance variable. Based on the developed optimal model, R squared value between measurement value and estimation value for TOC was 0.852. It was found that multiple independent variables might be a better the estimation of TOC concentration using the regression model equation(in a given sites).

        The MOE (Ministry of Environment) had classified 4 types of solid fuels as RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel), RPF (Refuse Plastic Fuel), TDF (Tire Derived Fuel) and WCF (Wood Chip Fuel) in Korea at 2012. However, the MOE has reclassified, the solid fuels with SRF (Soild Recovery Fuel) and Bio- SRF. Since the qulity standard for SRF has moderated, it is easier and more economical to recycle the waste. In this study, investigation for the generating, collecting, transporting, and treatment system of bulky waste in Seoul were performed. Moreover, experiments conducted to the analysis of collected bulky waste for assessment of SRF. According to the report of waste -meter-rate system in 2010, amount of bulky waste from to Dongdaemun-Gu is similar to average emissions in Seoul, and have an important facilities of transshipment for bulky waste, so that is the reason to select Dongdaemun-Gu for this research. According to process of Dongdaemun-center, bulky waste is classified into four-case, as metals, sponges, woods, and inclusion. Because the potion of inclusion is the difficult material to recycle, the entire quantity generated has been incinerated in Dongdaemun-Gu. the incinerating cost for inclusion was about 300 million won in 2012. Thus, inclusion from bulky waste was taken the target material to apply for SRF. So selected as inclusion that was incinerated to apply the SRF fuel standard. This research was analyzed the change in characteristics related to bringing location and period in order to evaluate the potential of energy of bulky waste in seoul. As a results of evaluation, there is not any differences related to changes of location and period. In addition, the results of conformity assessment of quality standards. Assessment items were satisfied with quality standards without moisture content. Moreover, low caloric value that is the primary factor to apply SRF was about 4,000 Kcal/kg Which is the homogeneous energy to utilize as fuel. However, taking steps as shield system for control of increasing moisture content by rainfall would be required.

        매립가스는 유기물의 소화로 발생되는 복합성 가스이며 주성분인 메탄(CH4), 이산화탄소(CO2) 이외에 황화수소(H2S), 암모니아(NH3), 할로겐 탄화수소, 휘발성유기규소화합물(VMSs)을 포함한다. 매립가스의 구성물질 중 황화수소는 주요 악취물질로 반응성이강하며 휘발성유기규소화합물은 매립가스 내 불순물로 장치 부식의 원인이 될 수 있다. 따라서 매립가스의 효율적인 자원화를 위해서는 매립가스 내 황화수소 및 휘발성유기규소화합물의 전처리가 필요하다. 본 연구는 황화수소와 휘발성유기규소화합물의 전처리공정으로서 흡착공정을 개발하고, 우선 황산철용액으로 개질된 활성탄을 제조하고 개질 활성탄의 흡착특성을 평가하고자 하였다. 실험에 사용된 흡착제는 식물계 활성탄에 황산철(FeSO4・7H2O)용액으로 첨착하였다. 흡착 방법으로는 흡착제가 채워진 유리재질의 흡착관에(∅10×150 mm) 황화수소 및 휘발성유기규소화합물 중 D4를 질소(99.999%)와 함께 0.3 L/min으로 유입시켜 유출농도가 유입농도의 5%로 배출 될 때를 파과점으로 하여 측정하였다. 황화수소는 초기농도 1%에서 질소와 혼합하여 3,333 ppm으로 유입되었으며, 휘발성유기규소화합물인 D4는 650 ppm으로 유입되었다. 황화수소는 10 ppm까지 황화수소 센서를 이용하여 측정하였고 이후 GC-PFPD로 분석하였으며 휘발성유기규소화합물인 D4는 GC-FID를 이용하여 분석하였다. 개질된 활성탄의 비표면적은 1205.4 m²g-1로 비개질 활성탄의 비표면적인 1111.3 m²g-1 보다 큰 값을 보여주었다. 또한, 주사형 전자현미경 분석을 통해 입경크기 및 표면기공을 확인한 결과 개질된 활성탄의 표면기공이 1 μm 이하부터 8 μm 까지 다양하게 분포되어 있었다. 개질된 활성탄의 황화수소 및 휘발성유기규소화합물의 흡착능은 각각 0.256 g/g, 0.413 g/g으로 비개질 활성탄의 흡착능인 0.023 g/g에 비해 매우 높은 흡착능을 보여주었다. 개질된 활성탄의 첨착된 철에 의한 화학흡착과 제조과정에서 형성된 활성탄 표면의 관능기가 황화수소 및 휘발성유기규소화합물의 흡착에 영향을 주는 것을 판단된다.

        본 연구는 화장품 제형 적용성이 높은 콜레스테릭 액정(CLCs) 개발에 관한 것이다. 비동물성 원료는 동물성 바이러스 감염 이슈로부터 자유롭고 화장품 소비자들에게 안심감을 줄 수 있기 때문에 비동물성 유래로부터 콜레스테릭 액정연구를 진행하였다. 따라서 발효로부터 만들어진 비동물성 콜레스테롤[NAB cholesterol (ARCH LONZA)]을 이용하여 3 가지 새로운 콜레스테릭 유도체(CI, CC, CN)를 합성하였다. 그리고 제형 적용성이 높은 콜레스테릭 액정개발을 위해서 넓은 온도범위에서 발색을 유지하는 최적 조성연구를 진행하였다. 콜레스테릭 액정은 3 가지 유도체를 조합하여 41개의 액정을 제조하고 온도에 따른 육안평가를 통해서 색을 나타내는 범위를 평가하였다. 제조된 41개의 액정을 온도에 따라 UV-VIS 스펙트럼을 동시에 분석할 수 있는 새로운 평가법을 사용하였으며 205개의 스펙트럼 분석하고 액정에 영향을 미치는 인자와 특성을 파악하였다. 위와 같은 결과를 토대로 제형적용성이 높은 비동물성 콜레스테릭 액정 A4, A5, A6, A7의 조성을 개발하였다. 또한 인공피부를 이용한 평가를 통하여 A6 조성의 뛰어난 피부 보습효능을 확인하였다.

        국내 자생식물인 꿀풀(Prunella vulgaris)과 섬초롱꽃(Campanula takesimana)을 이용하여 질소비료의 형태에 따라 생육반응, 항산화 물질 함량 및 항산화 활성을 조사하였다. 질소비료처리는 NO3-N 처리구와 NH4-N 처리구 및 이들의 혼용구로 구분하여 수경재배를 실시하였다. 꿀풀과 섬초롱꽃의 생육은 NO3-N과 NH4-N 혼합처리구에서 좋았다. 총 플라보노이드 함량은 꿀풀의 경우 NO3-N과 NH4-N 혼합처리구가 좋았다. 총 폴리페놀 함량과 DPPH 라디칼 소거능 및 NO 소거 활성 등의 항산화 활성은 NH4-N 처리구에서 높게 나타났다. NO3-N 처리구의 경우 총 플라보노이드 및 총 폴리페놀 함량이 낮고, 항산화 활성도 낮은 경향이었다.

        Korean particle <-ka> has long been simply known as a subject marker. But subjects without <-ka> are very often realized in sentences, and they are always accompanied by the constraint on the correspondence between linear order and thematic role of the constituents. Besides, the subjects without <-ka> are sometimes not allowed in accordance with several syntactic/semantic properties of the subjects and their predicates, in very complicated ways. Traditional view on <-ka> cannot explain these phenomena. In this article, we adopt Bowers (2001)'s PrP Hypothesis and many-folded predicate structure to solve these puzzles. It's claimed that [Spec, PrP] is the position of the optional realization of <-ka>. The nominal which merges with <-ka> has theta positions of [ComP, VP] or [Spec, PrP], and its case is licensed in-situ through agreement under c-command of an Agr <-si/∅> which is placed directly after a verb stem as a subject honorific marker, in derivations of finite clauses. The optionally projected morphological features of <-ka> attract the nominal, and the lexical meaning of <-ka>(focus etc.) is added after the merge. It is the structurally determined position of <-ka> and the theta positions varied by the argument structures of different predicates that explain why some subjects without <-ka> are not allowed and the linear orders of other constructions are constrained. On the other hand, the projection and merge of <-ka> is necessary when the nominals are semantic restrictions of operators of which arguments are propositions. It seems quite natural that the meaning of <-ka>(focus etc.) is necessarily added to the restrictions because the semantic constituents contain important informations which prevent domains of operation from expanding massively.
