        Background: Various Schisandra chinensis (SC) varieties grow in diverse regions in Korea. However, there is no valid scientific evidence of these varieties. This study aimed to select the excellent resources in terms of the growth characteristics, antioxidant activities, and analysis of the active compounds of the SC collection. Method and Results: In total, 154 resources of SC were collected from various regions of Korea. The growth characteristics were measured by the number of fruit bunches, fruit number, and weight of 100 fruits. The antioxidant activities were investigated by analyzing the total flavonoid and total polyphenol contents and the radical scavenging activity of DPPH and ABTS. Schizandrin A, schizandrin c, gomisin a, and gomisin N were analyzed by HPLC. Each resource showed different growth characteristics. Among the antioxidative effects, the highest 20 resources showed high antioxidant activities in selected 29 resources. Analysis of the SC lignan index showed that all resources contained more than 1.16% of active compounds. Conclusions: All of the selected 29 SC resources were shown to have excellent growth characteristics, antioxidant activities, and bioactive compound richness. Especially, SC-004, SC-007, and SC-154 showed the best growth characteristics, and SC-22, SC-40, and SC-45 showed the best antioxidant activities and bioactive compound richness.

        Background : Recently, there is an urgent demand for development of new varieties with enhanced resistance to various biotic/abiotic stresses. One generation of ginseng is four years, so it takes a long time to breed. To increase the efficiency of the ginseng breeding and save time and effort, it is necessary to build a ginseng core collection. This study examined the major growth characteristics of genetic sources for the establishment of core collection. Methods and Results : As plant materials, 187 ginseng lines collected in 2003 were used in this study. Ginseng Seeds were harvested at the end of July 2014, sown in mid-November, and cultivated in 2015 for one year in the field and then transplanted into the main field in 2016. All phenotypes including agronomic characteristics, seed yield, and physiological response to biotic/abiotic stresses were investigated according to the ginseng GAP and UPOV guidelines. The stem colors of the collected ginseng germplasm were classified as the five classes; light green, green, light purple, purple and dark purple, but most of them were purple or dark purple. The locations of distribution of anthocyanin coloration in stem were classified into the four classes; proximal end, proximal end and petiole part, the entire stem and the stem with purple not revealed, but most of them were petiole part or the entire stem. The shapes of leaflet were classified the four classes; the long elliptic, elliptic, slender type, and spatulate type. Most of surveyed lines were elliptic type. When the leaflet of ginseng was laterally cut, the shape was classified into the three types; concave type, plane type and convex type. Most of surveyed lines were red berry color. Conclusion : The genetic pool of ginseng is known to be narrow. The results of this study showed similar characteristics among the ginseng fields collected. In the future, we will carry out the survey about quantitative characteristics and correlations of ginseng genetic resources for establishment of Korean ginseng core collection.

        Background : Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) is a perennial plant of the Gramineae, followed by rice, wheat, corn and barley, the fifth major food crop in the world. Sorghum is mostly used in Korea for cereals using seeds or for making food directly. However, sorghum is not directly used for food in foreign countries, but plays an important role in the development of cosmetic and pharmaceutical materials and as a bio-energy crop. Most of the sorghum cultivated in Korea does not use the remainder after harvesting seeds, so research on other uses is needed. Therefore, we carried out this experiment in order to identify the characteristics of domestic genetic resources and to select the genetic resources with excellent growth. Methods and Results : Samples were tested for their growth characteristics by the Agricultural Genetic Resources of National Institute of Agricultural Sciences. Growth characteristics of heading, total length, stem length, stem width, leaf length, leaf width, length of ears and width of ears were investigated. After 10 weeks of sowing, 45% of the outbreaks occurred and showed a quick heading. The total length of the sorghum ranged from 65.7 ㎝ to 341.0 ㎝, and the stem width ranged from 0.2 ㎝ to 2.6 ㎝. Leaf length ranged from 33.3 ㎝ to 92.4 ㎝ and leaf width ranged from 3.8 ㎝ to 12.2 ㎝. The length of the ears was in the range of 8.0 ㎝ - 52.7 ㎝, and the width of the ears was in the range of 5.2 ㎝ - 27.0 ㎝. K131301, K178840, K258654 and K255198, which are expected to bear a large number of seeds with high biomass content and large size of leaves and plants, were selected. Conclusion : Through this study, we can understand the growth characteristics of the sorghum in Korea and select excellent genetic resources.

        This experiment was conducted to investigate the aspect of tiller occurrence, growth and yield of sorghum according to planting distance and sowing date. The object of this experiment is to get basic data to inhibit non-productive tillers uneconomical and cumbersome for mechanical harvesting. Also another object was to evaluate optimum planting distance and sowing date in central district area. Total number of tillers was more in 80 ㎝ ridge than 60 ㎝ ridge and it was increased as the planting distance was wider from 15 ㎝ to 30 ㎝ on the each ridge. Ratio of effective tillers was higher in 60 ㎝ ridge than 80 ㎝ ridge and it was decreased as planting distance was wider from 15 ㎝ to 30 ㎝. The lower the planting distance, the more increased total number of tillers, whereas effective tillers was decreased as planting distance was high. Average of total number of tillers of three varieties was higher in sowing date of May 2 (1st sowing date), whereas ratio of effective tillers was the highest in sowing date of May 23 (2nd sowing date). Hwanggeumchal showed the highest total number of tillers (1.2 tillers), while Moktaksusu had the lowest total number of tillers (0.8 tillers) among three varieties. There were no significant difference between planting distance and days to heading and ripening date from seeding. Culm length increased as planting distance was high, but ear length, grains per ear and 1000 grain weight were decreased on the other hand. The highest yield of sorghum per 10a was obtained from 60×20 ㎝ planting distance among 6 planting distances.

        Background : The study was conducted in response to climate change, to develop cultivation techniques by introducing a new crop income. Therefore, we want to collect the Coriander sativum genetic resources that are grown in different regions of the korea and other countries. The C. sativum were strengthens the stomach to say "housil" in Herbal and prosper digestion. Recently, several nations, including Vietnam and Thail and increased in Korea. C. sativum increased eating enjoy food. The people who like C. sativum in Korea is estimated to be 1.5 million. Methods and Result : First was C. sativum 93 species in National agrobiodiversity Center RDA lotting-out on May 12, 2016 for the study. C. sativum germplasm received lotting-out of over thousand grain 15g 28 kinds of seeds, 10∼15g was 23 species, 10g less than 42 species. 32 kinds of fruit color is white, black, 30 species, the gray was 31 species. Conclusion : C. sativum lotting-out was conducted by resource for two weeks from germination test from May 31 to June 13. The results were as follows: C. sativum port germination 86∼100% germination was 43 stocks, 40∼60% of 23 stocks, 5 stocks of 20∼ 40%. The 22 stocks were not germinate paper. C. sativum resources per port germination test was conducted 13 days from 29 days July until August 9th. As a result, more than 90% of the port germination is 62 stocks, not more than 80∼90%, 50∼80% 18 stocks of germination was 5 stocks. At this time, no germination was 8 stocks. Therefore, C. sativum germination test is a port germination test obtained a more than satisfactory result.

        The aim of this study is to select the superior resources of high yield, high content of functional material optimal to mechanical harvesting by the evaluation of crop growth and yield characteristics in sorghum germplasm. One hundred accessions of sorghum germplasm were used in this experiment. Days from seeding to heading date showed the range from 68 to 94 days with the highest frequency proportion was the group from 80 to 85 days, which occupied 34% (34 plant resources) of 100 germplasm. Ear types of 100 sorghum germplasm could be classified as 7 types of broom-tillering, half broom-tillering, extreme open-loose type, open-loose type, intermediate type, compact type, extreme-compact type of which intermediate type was the highest ratio of 28% (28 plant resources) of 100 germplasm. Yield showed the range from 106 to 365 ㎏/10a with the highest frequency proportion of it was the group from 150 to 200 ㎏/10a, which occupied 44% (44 plant resources) of 100 germplasm. Among 100 sorghum germplasm, 18 ideal resources of high yield and short plant height appropriate for mechanical harvesting were selected. In order to evaluate high content of functional substance, selected 18 resources were analyzed for total polyphenol content, DPPH radical scavenging activity and total anthocyanin content. Finally, we selected 5 resources of short plant height, high yield, high content of total polyphenol and high DPPH radical scavenging activity among 18 genetic resources.

        This study was conducted to find out the variation in agronomic trait and chemical composition in the collected Perilla frutescens from China and Japan. From the results of growth investigation, the maximum number if branches was 26.7ea in Japan 134 line, followed by 25 nodes number in China 119 line. Among the different lines investigated, maximum number of panicle number (108.8) were observed in China 114 line. 1000 seed weight was maximum (4.12 g) in China 118 line. Flowering time of different collected lines varied significantly with average value of 175.5 days and the average line required for maturation of seedlings was 205.1 days. Plant height was the highest (248.9 ㎝) in China 107 line. Highest number of total picking leaves was 965ea, and the average picked period was 54 days. The major phenol compounds contained in Perilla frutescens showed wide variation for Syringic acid, Benzoic acid, Naringin, o-Coumaric acid, Myricetin, Naringenin and Hesperetin. Japan 139 line showed the highest level of total phenol contents (8254.0 ㎍/g, dry weight).

        This study conducted a laboratory simulation using artificial and natural rainfall in order to investigate the runoff characteristics of livestock resources through the analysis of the surface runoff water and infiltration water by rainfall intensity and fertilization level. Cattle manure and pig liquid fertilizer was used as livestock resource. As a result of this study, it was observed that the surface runoff occurred over 32 mm/hr rainfall intensity, and flow rate of the surface runoff water and the runoff ratio of contaminant parameters from livestock resource was increased, as rainfall intensity was stronger. With doubled fertilization level, T-N increased in compost and the amount of CODMn runoff also considerably increased in liquefied fertilizer. In the case of natural rainfall, the runoff ratio of T-P clearly increased in compost and the T-N of final surface runoff ratio in compost and liquefied fertilizer was ranged from 0.13047 to 0.13623 with stronger rainfall intensity.

        강원도 양양군 조봉지역에 대한 식물자원을 2011년 4월부터 2012년 10월까지 총 11회에 걸쳐 조사하였다. 그 결과 관속식물은 총 92과 296속 434종 6아종 49변종 11품종으로 총 500분류군이었다. 조사된 식물 중 한국특산식물은 13분류군, 희귀식물은 14분류군, 그리고 멸종위기야생식물은 II급의 한계령풀이 확인되었다. 식물구계학적 특정식물종은 V등급 1분류군, IV등급 11분류군, III등급 21분류군, II등급 12분류군, 그리고 I등급 30분류군으로 총 75분류군이 조사되었다. 귀화식물은 32분류군으로 나타났으며, 귀화율은 6.4%, 도시화지수는 10%로 산출되었다. 식물의 용도는 식용이 193분류군으로 가장 많았고, 다음으로 약용, 목초용, 관상용의 순이었으며, 용도를 알지 못하는 종류도 148분류군이 확인되었다.

        흥정산에 대한 식물의 분포와 특징을 밝히기 위해 2009년 4월부터 2011년 5월까지 조사하였다. 그 결과 확인된 양치식물 이상의 관속식물은 78과 238속 343종 3아종 47변종 10품종으로 총 403분류군이었다. 조사된 종류 중에는 한국특산식물 8분류군, 희귀식물 16분류군이 포함되어 있었고, 식물구계학적 특정식물종은 V등급의 산작약, IV등급은 끈끈이장구채 등 6종류, III등급은 개고사리 등 15분류군, II등급은 낚시고사리 등 24종류, 그리고 I등급은 속새 등 25종류로 총 71분류군이었다. 귀화식물은 20분류군이었으며 귀화율은 5.0%로 산출되었다. 용도는 식용이 175 종류(43.4%)으로 가장 많았고, 약용이 126종류(31.3%), 목초용이 65종류(16.1%), 관상용이 52종류(12.9%), 목재용과 섬유용이 12종류(3.0%), 그리고 공업용이 3종류(0.7%)로 나타났다.

        Rural policies in Korea have been changed into amenity-oriented ones recently to enhance the quality of life for villigians, which should be supported by the amenity-oriented maintenance system for rural space or environment too. Although so many studies on the classification system of amenity resources had been carried out, few ones which classified them principally by their spatial characteristics had been tried. From the viewpoint mentioned above, this study tried to propose a tentative classification system of amenity resources focussed on their locational characteristics. By the literature review, its draft was prepared, and after 2-round expert checks, the final table determined, which composed of 3-subsystems; green, production and living environment. Through the field application works in two case villages, its practical applicability was ascertained, from which two regarding points were found; public usability of terms and seasonality of amenity resources, especially green ones.

        본 연구는 수자원 상황을 평가하기 위해 기존에 개발된 물 빈곤지수에 지역적 기상 변동 및 홍수피해를 평가할 수 있는 세부지표를 추가하여 홍승진 등(2011)에 의해 개발된 기후 변동성지수(Climate Variability Index, CVI)를 국내에 적용하였다. 물이용 평가에 초점이 맞추어진 물 빈곤지수 세부지표를 선정하고 지역적 특성에 따른 치수 및 기후변동성 내용이 추가된 지역별 특성인자를 선정하여 1998년부터 2020년까지 물 빈곤지수와 기후 변동성지수에 대한 분석을 실시하여 지역별 변동성을 평가하고 물 부문 정책, 투자 및 적용에 대한 우선순위를 결정하는데 도움을 줄 수 있는 정보를 제공하고자 하였다. 근 미래의 자료는 수자원 장기종합계획에서 제시하는 미래 수요자료를 이용하였으며, 기상 관련 자료는 기상청에서 제시하고 있는 RCP 8.5 시나리오를 이용하여 미래 기후변동성을 평가하였다. 이렇게 기후변화가 추가된 내용을 기후변화 변동성지수(Climate Change Variability Index, CCVI)로 명명하여 제시하였다. 기후변화 변동성지수는 치수와 기후변동성을 함께 고려하여 지역별 특성인자를 추가하여 고려하였으며, 물이용에 영향을 미치는 인자와 치수 및 기후변화를 함께 고려할 수 있으므로, 지역별로 기후변화에 대응하는 물이용뿐만 아니라 홍수관리에도 사용할 수 있을 것이다.

        This survey is focused on analyzing amenity resources for the purpose of offering basic sources for balanced development and the activation of sightseeing in Anmyen-island which has superior landscape resources and the result follows as this. 1. As a result of selecting "Amenities characterized in isles" and comparing their applications in order to choose amenity resource surveying method which is suitable for the isle districts where beaches, tidelands, fishing villages and so on are formed, it was considered that the surveying method of the rural amenity resource in the Korean Society of Rural Planning could be properly used. 2. In spite of a variety of amenity resources besides ten beaches, Anmyeon-island has been developed only focused on beaches. Therefore, it is highly recommended to develop new sightseeing courses which connect beaches with adjacent amenity resources such as theme programs. 3. It proved that compared with Anmyeoneup, Gonammyeon has superior landscape resources and higher special product rates, which is caused by the fact that it doesn't have various kinds of amenities. As diverse fish inhabit the sea and tidelands in Gonammyeon, it is beneficial for activating sightseeing tours to develop fishing village experiencing programs including going fishing. 4. Anmyen-island can be divided into East district and West distict by the national road no,77 and two districts have different distributional features of sightseeing amenity resources. In the west district, amenity resources such as coastal sightseeing routes, large event halls, and resorts have been activated in addition to fourteen beaches which have already been developed while the amenity resources in the east like fishing villages, tidelands, and salt fields have not been activated. Accordingly, for activating balanced sightseeing development in Amyeon-island, it is required to make plans which can incorporate the east amenity resources of sea sightseeing and the west amenity resources of fishing village experiencing programs. As a way, constructing sightseeing routes connecting the west and the east district or making a detour lane connecting beaches in the west, Anmyeon pine trees in the center, and fishing villages in the east.

        2009년 3월부터 2009년 9월까지 경상남도 양산시 일대의 관속식물 및 자원식물분포조사를 수행하였다. 본 조사를 통해 확인된 조사지역 내의 소산 관속식물은 90과 256속 376종 4아종 41변종 6품종으로 총 427분류군으로 확인되었다. 조사 지역에서 분포하고 있는 427분류군의 식물자원 유용도를 분석한 결과 식용자원식물이 167종류, 섬유용 자원식물이 6종류, 약용자원식물이 118종류, 관상용 자원식물이 52종류, 초지 자원식물이 132종류, 공업원료자원이 2종류, 염료용 자원식물이 98종류, 목재용 자원식물이 15종류, 용도가 밝혀지지 않은 식물이 101종류로 구분되었다. 이 중 식용자원, 약용자원, 초지자원, 염료용자원이 비교적 많이 분포하는 것으로 나타났다. 특기할만한 식물로는 한국 특산 관속식물이 총 16분류군, 환경부지정 특정식물종이 36분류군으로 각각 조사되었고, 귀화식물은 38분류군으로서 약 8.9%를 차지하였다. 조사지역의 식생은 비교적 양호한 편이었으나, 저지대 대부분이 농경지로 활용되며, 사찰과 많은 여가시설, 탐방객 등으로 인해 귀화식물의 분포가 빠르게 확산되고 있어 생태계의 교란이 우려되는 상황이다.

        Crop characteristics of 136 foxtail millet (Setaria italica BEAUVOIS) resources collected in South Korea were investigated in order to establish basic informations for breeding. Spike types of 136 genetic resources were classified as 5 types (conical, clavate, fusiform, cylindrical and top diverge). Among them, conical type was showed the highest percentage(41.2%). Seed of 136 resources was showed yellow color. Spike color of 136 genetic resources were classified as 6 colors (dark brown, light brown, red brown, yellow, yellowish brown and yellowish white). Yellowish white color showed the highest percentage(33.8%) among them. Leaf color of 136 genetic resources were classified as 6 colors (brown, dark green, green, green brown, light green and light brown). Green color was showed the highest percentage(44.9%) among them. Culm length showed a wide variation from 112cm to 183cm (average is 153.8cm) and spike length from 17.7 to 41.2cm (average is 24.1cm). Days from seeding to heading date and days from seeding to physiological maturity were showed the range from 63 to 111 days (average is 90.3 days) and the range from 119 to 149 days (average is 117.7 days) respectively. Number of grains per spike and 1000 grain weight were showed the range from 2,197.0 to 16,980.0 grains (average is 5,839.1 grains) and from 0.6 to 3.1g (average is 1.79g) respectively.
