        The process 0 1' wound healing needs the deposition of collagen and non-collagenous compounds, followed by the remodelling of extracellul ar matrix Recently, it has known that LEDs irradiation can help wound healing to accelerate the cell proliferation. But its mec hanism is not elucidated yot. The purpose of the present study is to observe the expression level of extracellular matrix by 635nm LEDs ir radiation. Human gingival fibroblasts were primary cultured, treated arac hidonic acid (때 and followed by LEDs irradiation. To observe the mRNA expression of extracellular matrix, cDNA mlcroarray was ca n‘ ied out 1n present study, 3 experimental groups were categorized into control, AA-treated group, and AA-treated with LEDs irradiation group. The differential expressions of MMP-1, -2, -3, - 10, - 11, -14, -16, - 17, -25 and TIMP-1, -2, -3. -4 were observed. Especially, mRNA expression of T1MP-3 was 10 fold decreased in arach idonic acid -treated with 635nm LEDs irradiation group. Finally, LEDs irradation can affect the expression level of MMPs and TIMPs, which lead to prolifer ation of gingival fibroblasts and result in would healing

        The control performance of LCVA designed for mitigation of wind-induced motion of Songdo high rise building is evaluated using 1/20 scaled test model. The effectiveness of the LCVA is then examined tuning LCVA to 90%, 100%, and 110% of the natural frequency, 0.74Hz. The test structure is excited using a sinusoidal signal ranging 0.2 ~ 1.2 Hz with 5.5mm displacement, and acceleration and displacement of structure, water height, and shear force are measured. Experimental results indicate that the LCVA tuned to 100% of the natural frequency with orifice opening ratio of zero reduce the peak and RMS displacement up to 67% and 72%.

        Lavandula vera is indispensable member of the herb family, used for perfumes and potpourri. Androgens have profound effects on the physiology of the sebaceous gland. Sebum is secreted due to the effect of androgen, which starts to be secreted at puberty. Using the human sebocyte cell line SZ95. the author investigated the inhibitory effect of Lavandula vera on the lipid production. Light microscopic finding were examined numerous cytoplasmic lipid droplets SZ95 cells by Oil red staining and lipid droplets were increased markedly by testosterone. On the other hand, combined treatment with Lavandula vera and testosterone resulted in a lower lipid droplets than with testosterone alone in a dose-dependent manner. These findings indicate that Lavandula vera acts antagonistically to testosterone and inhibits the lipid synthesis of SZ95 cells at the cellular level.

        The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of ethanol extract of Fagopyrum escuentum(FE) on the melanogenesis. To determine whether ethanol extract of FE suppress melanin synthesis in cellular level, B16F10 melanoma cells were cultured in the presence of different concentrations of FE ethanol extract. In the present study, the author examined the effects of FE ethanol extract on cell proliferation, melanin contents, tyrosinase activity. Cell proliferation was slightly increased by treatment with ethanol extract of FE (25-200 μg/ml). The ethanol extract of FE effectively suppressed melanin contents at a dose of 100 μg/ml. It was observed that the color of cell pellets was totally whitened compared with the control. The ethanol extract of FE inhibited tyrosinase activity, regulate melanin biosynthesis as the key enzyme in melanogenesis. These results suggest that the ethanol extract of FE exerts its depigmenting effects through the suppression of tyrosinase activity. And it may be a potent depigmetation agent in hyperpigmentation condition.

        It has been reported that light-emitting diodes(LED) can be used in the treatment of oral diseases. Although bio-stimulatory effects of LED irradiation such as promotion of wound healing have been well known, there are few reports about molecular mechanisms associated with wound healing by LED irradiation. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the expression pattern of various extracellular matrix(ECM) molecules in relation to wound healing after LED irradiation on primary human gingival fibroblasts(hGFs) in vitro. The source of light for irradiation was a continuous-wave LED emitting at a wavelength of 635 nm, and manufactured that energy density was 5 mW/cm2 on sample surfaces. The hGFs were irradiated for 1 hour at 37℃ in 5% CO2 humidified chamber. Experimental samples were acquired at 0 (right after irradiation), 24 and 48 hour after irradiation. To investigate the molecular mechanisms associated with wound healing, we examined the mRNA expression of 6 types of collagens, 7 types of matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs) and 4 types of tissue inhibition of metalloproteinases(TIMPs) after LED irradiation by RT-PCR. The mRNA expression of collagen 4, MMP-3, 9, and 16, and TIMP-3 was influenced by LED irradiation. Generally, the collagen expression of the irradiation group was slightly increased, particularly collagen 4 was significantly increased at 0 hour. The expression of MMP-3 was increased at 0 and 24 hours and MMP-16 was increased at 24 hours, respectively. The expression of MMP-9 was decreased at 0 hour and increased at 24 and 48 hours. The mRNA expression of TIMP-3 was significantly decreased at 24 and 48 hours after irradiation. These results suggest that the altered expression of ECM molecules after LED irradiation may contribute to the accelerated wound healing.

        목적 : 본 연구는 전국에 소재하고 있는 보건소의 물리치료실과 작업치료실의 개설 현황과 치료사의 현황을 파악하고 그에 따른 비교를 통하여 작업치료사의 보건소 취업 활성화를 위한 기초 자료를 제공하려는 목적으로 시행되었다. 연구방법 : 2005년 9월 1일부터 동년 11월 30일까지 전국의 242개 보건소 중에서 75개 보건소의 소장을 직접 만나 설문조사하였다. 통계처리는 SPSS windows 10.0 version으로 빈도분석을 실시하였다. 결과 : 본 연구는 작업치료사의 보건소 취업활성화를 위한 기초 자료를 제공하기 위하여 2005년 9월부터 2005년 11월 30일까지 전국의 75개 보건소에 있는 보건소장을 대상으로 하여 물리치료와 작업치료의 실태에 관한 설문조사를 통하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 75개의 보건소 중에서 70개(93.3%) 보건소에 물리치료실이 설치되어 있었지만 작업치료실이 설치된 곳은 전무한 실정이었다. 물리치료사는 정규직 68명(77.3%)과 임시직 18명(20.5%), 기간제(1.1%)와 기타 1명(1.1%)으로 총88명이 고용되어 있지만 작업치료사는 임시직으로 1명이 고용되어 있다. 작업ㆍ물리치료실의 필요성은 물리치료실의 경우 응답자의 90.7%가 필요하다고 조사되었지만 작업치료실은 응답자 중 60%만이 필요하다고 하였다. 재활방문 서비스는 보건소 75곳 중 50곳(66.7%)에서 실시되고 있으며 전문 인력으로는 간호사(35.5%), 의사(28.3%), 물리치료사(26.8%), 기타(8.7%) 순으로 조사되었고 작업치료사는 1명(0.7%)에 불과하였다. 재활방문서비스 대상자는 대부분 65세 노인들로 이들의 질병유형은 뇌졸중(40.2%), 만성퇴행성 질환자(33.9%), 치매912.5%), 척수 손상자(10.0%) 순으로 조사되었다. 결론 : 이 연구의 결과를 종합해 볼 때. 연구의 결과에 대한 개선 방안으로 다음과 같은 몇 가지를 제안 할 수 있다. 우선적으로 현재 시행되고 있는 지역 보건법에서 보건소 내 작업치료실의 개설과 작업치료사의 고용과 역할에 관한 법제정이 필요하다. 또한 지역사회 중심 재활사업에서 작업치료의 참여를 위한 공청회 및 토론회를 개최하는 등의 작업치료사의 역할에 대한 인식 확대를 위한 홍보활동이 적극적으로 이루어져야 하겠다.

Until now‘ most of studies were focused on the comparison malignancy wi th normal 01' dysplasia. There is little report of gene a lterations in normal to cancer , oral carcinogenesis. The purpose of present study is to evaluate the gene a ltc ration in every steps of oral carcinogenes is by DD- PCR. To induce tongue carcinoma in rat by 4- NQO. each dri nking water made 10ppm. 25ppm. 50ppm and control(o nly D.W without 4-NQO) . Specimens were classified into 4 groups s uch as co ntrol, I(mild & mocle rate dysplasia) , II(severe dysplasia and car cinoma in s itu) , III(carcinoma). Total RNA was ext racted and DD- PCR was performed using customized random primers. And to confïrmed t he results of DD-PCR‘ RT- PCR a nd real-time PCR with specific primers were carried out. There was phenotypic alteration in tongue 。f dosc a nd t imc dc pcndcnt man ncr. In gross examination, multiple papules, patch form or ulcerations were observed during 4 - NQO t reatment Hi s tologicall y, dysplasia was observed in 3 to 6 month and tumor formation in 6 to 8 month For DD-PCR, RT-PCR and real-time PCR, cyclophilin A, BAC RP23-372MB and BAC CH230-103E9 were differ entia lly expressed. Taken together, cyclophilin A has a role in all steps of oral carcinogenesis.         LEDs have been shown to be a safe, efficient, light-weight, and less-expensive alternative to heal wound. LED irradiation at the same biostimulatory wavelength of previous laser studies have similar biochemical effects The purpose of present study is to evaluate the effects of wound healing by LED irradiation. Thirty 34-day-old sprague dawley were used for present study. 1.5mm diameter defected holes were formed in both ear lobes of rat by rubber dam punch. 635nm and 890nm irradiation was performed by LED for 2 weeks, followed by histologíc examination staíned with H&E and Masson trichrome. Also, RT-PCR was carried out to find out the mRNA expression level in gingival fjbroblast irradiated by 635nm for 1 hour. In gross exarnination, wound healing was observed in irradiated group comparing to control For microscopic exarnination, repair by connective tissues was filled in defects of irradiated group, while dense cellular bands consisting of fjbroblasts and capi llaries were found at the end of defect in control By staining of masson trichrome, amount of collagens were found in irradiated group. In a result of RT-PCR, mRNA expressions of TGF- ß , MMP-1,3 and Timp-3 were down-regulated in irradiated group comparing with their expression in control group. Taken together, LED irradiation increase the prolifeation and the activity of fibroblasts and down-regualted the TGF-ß , MMP- 1,3 and Timp- 3 mRNA, followed by activation of would healing.

        Department of Oral Pathology, Dental Science Research Institute, College of Den디'suy, Chonnam National University It is well known that the expansion of radicular and dentigerous cyst is related to the change of osmotic pressure, while the prolifera디on ofthe 비피19 epithelium in odontogenic keratocyst. When the dentigerous cyst and odontogenic keratocyst has secondary infection, they present the loss of unique sπuctures and epithelial hyperplasia. There is a question whether inflammatory reaction affects cystic formation, expansion and their treatment. Present study is to evaluate the relationship between inflammation and epithelial hyperplasia using immunohistochemial study. Followings are result; 1. 까1e age of patients ranged from 10 to 73 years (mean age, 39 years) in radicular 이5t, 10 to 71 years (mean age, 35 years) in dentigerous cyst and 10 to 54 years (mean age, 23.4 years) in odontogenic keratocyst. The sex distribution of patient distributed 32 cases for male and 16 cases for female in radicular cyst, 13 and 10 in dentigerous cyst and equally 5 and 5 in odontogenic keratocyst. 2. Inflammatory cyst in the present study distributed 44/48 cases (9 1.7%) for radicular cyst, 15/ 23 cases for dentigerous cyst and 1/ 10 case for odontogenic keratocyst. 3. Evaluation of inflammatory reaction and antigen expression, ki-67 , cox-2 and glut-1 expression increase in the inflammatory radicular and dentigerous cyst. 4. In odontoge띠c keratocyst, expression of antigens increase regardless of inflammation. Above results showed that inflammation stimulate the proliferation of lining epithelium leading to cystic expansion.

        In the capacity spectrum method (CSM), the peak response of an inelastic system under a given earthquake load is estimated transforming the system into the equivalent elastic one. This paper presented estimating the peak inelastic response is evaIuated by the CSM. The equivalent period and damping are calculated using the ATC-40, Gülkan, Kowalsky, and Iwan methods, and the performance points are obtained according the procedure B of ATC-40. Analysis results indicate that the ATC-40 method generaIly underestimates the peak response, while the Gülkan and Kowalsky methods overestimate the responses. The Iwan method produces the values between those by the ATC-40 method and the Gülkan and Kowalsky methods, and estimates the reponses relatively closer to the exact ones. Further, it is found that the Kowalsky method gives the negative equivalent damping ratios depending on the hardening ratios, and thereby can not be used to estimate the responses in some cases.

        본 논문은 인공 진피와 조직공학용 scaffold로 이용하기 위해 다공성 membrane로서 gelatin-based sponge의 효율성을 연구하였다. 불용성의 다공성 membrane은 1-ethyl-(3-3dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide(EDC)로 가교하여 제조하였다. Fourier-transformed infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy(SEM) 그리고 Instron analysis로 다공성 membrane의 특성을 조사하였다. 다공성 membrane은 용적당 큰 표면적을 제공하는 micro porous한 구조를 가지고 있다. Gelatin/hyaluronic acid (HA) membrane의 공경크기는 40~200μm이다. HA의 첨가는 다공성 membrane의 기계적 강도와 세포부착능력에 영향을 미쳤다. Gelatin/HA 다공성 membrane의 압축강도는 collagen과 비슷하며, 세포배양과 인공진피 transplantation에 있어서의 충분한 기계적 강도를 가지고 있다. Fibroblasts를 함유한 진피기질을 제조하기 위해 직경 8mm의 다공성 membran에 4×10(sup)5cells/membrane의 세포밀도로 fibroblast를 배양하였다. GH91 porous membrane에서의 fibroblast 부착성은 GH55 porous membrane에서보다 우수하였다. 삼차원 구조의 gelatin/HA membrane matrix에서의 fibroblast의 배양은 생체내 조건과 유사한 생리적 환경을 제공하였다.

        The purpose of this study were to evaluate the effect of program in visual perception on eye-hand coordination in a child with cerebral palsy. The results were as follows. 1) Eye-hand coordination were increased significantly compared to doing without pretreatment with the program in visual perception with time-dependent fashion with a cerebral palsy child 2) A most increased part of eye-hand coordination activities was a large heavy objects and a least increased part of those was a writing. From the above results, it is suggested that program in visual perception is a most useful therapy for a child with cerebral palsy having incomplete eye-hand coordination activity functionally.
