        We estimated on the stability of W/O type emulsified fuel using by capacitance sensor, so it concluded the following conclusions. For the first 24 hours, prepared emulsified fuel reveals phase separation ratio of 5%, maintains stable status which verifies the stability of emulsified fuel. Adding more water increases the phase separation ratio rapidly, and adding more surfactant displays stable emulsification. Adding water causes larger size of water droplet diameter, and adding surfactant mixture causes smaller size of water droplet diameter. In conclusion, the size of W/O type emulsified fuel water droplet diameter is directly related to the volume of surfactant, and density of water droplet diameter changes thedistribution according to water contents.

        The effects of HLB value of nonionic mixed surfactants on the stability and antifoaming ability for silicon oil type emulsions were studied. To obtain a stable silicone emulsions, a higher HLB values and higher content of surfactants were preferred. To obtain a good antifoaming ability, however, a lower HLB value (more hydrophobic) and a lower content of the surfactants were preferred. It was observed, at lower HLB values(8 or 9), that the silicone oil drops were spreaded on the foam surface and effectively reduced the surface tension. And the spreading phenomena presumably acted as an antifoaming mechanism. Therefore, a higher hydrophobicity of the silicone oil emulsion resulted in a higher ability of antifoaming action.

        세공 크기가 2.6 μm인 SPG (Shirasu porous glass) 막이 설치된 실험실 규모의 막유화 장치를 사용하여 막유화 에멀젼-겔 공정의 변수 조절을 통해 구형상의 실리카 입자를 제조하였다. 막유화 에멀젼-겔 공정의 변수로는 분산상 압력, 연속상 내 안정제 및 유화제의 농도, H2O/TEOS 비율 및 연속상에 대한 분산상의 비율로 설정하고, 이들 변수가 제조된 실리카 입자의 크기와 분포에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 막유화의 공정변수들 중에서 분산상 압력과 연속상에 대한 분산상의 비가 증가할수록 실리카 입자의 크기가 증가하였다. 반면 안정제 및 유화제의 농도, H2O/TEOS 비가 증가할수록 입자의 크기가 감소하였다. 막유화 에멀젼-겔 공정변수의 조절을 통해 최종적으로 평균 입자 크기가 3 μm인 비교적 입도분포가 균일한 구형상의 실리카 입자 제조가 가능하였다.

        일반적으로 유화 아스팔트와 폼드 아스팔트를 사용한 현장 상온 재생 아스팔트 포장은 노후한 아스팔트 포장을 재생하는데 가장 경제적이며 친환경적인 재활용 공법이다. 최근, 현장 상온 재생 아스팔트 혼합물의 코팅, 라벨링, 잔류안정도, 양생조건을 향상시켜주는 고점착 유화 아스팔트가 개발되었다. 본 연구의 목적은 현장 상온 재생 아스팔트 포장을 위한 고점착 유화 아스팔트 혼합물과 폼드 아스팔트 혼합물의 실내시험에 대한 반응특성을 비교하는 것이다. 고점착 유화 아스팔트 혼합물은 폼드 아스팔트 혼합물과 비교하여 재활용 골재를 균일하게 코팅시켜주는 것으로 육안 관찰되었다. 현장 상온 재생 아스팔트 포장을 위한 고점착 유화 아스팔트 혼합물과 폼드 아스팔트 혼합물의 마샬안정도와 간접인장강도는 유사한 반응을 보여주었다. 하지만 진공으로 포화된 습윤상태의 고점착 유화 아스팔트 혼합물의 마샬안정도와 간접인장강도는 폼드 아스팔트 혼합물보다 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 4시간 양생 후 고점착 유화 아스팔트 혼합물의 라벨링 현상은 폼드 아스팔트 혼합물보다 적게 발생하였다. 본 실내시험에 대한 반응특성으로부터 현장 상온 재생 아스팔트 포장을 위한 고점착 유화 아스팔트 혼합물은 폼드 아스팔트 혼합물보다 우수한 저항성과 라벨링 저항성을 발휘하는 것으로 평가되었다.

        활성글루텐을 첨가한 쌀가루에 검의 첨가가 쌀가루의 신속점도측정기(RVA) 호화양상과 farinograph 반죽특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 검의 첨가에 의해 쌀가루의 RVA 최고점도는 증가한 반면 setback은 약간 감소함을 나타내었다. 활성글루텐을 첨가한 쌀가루에 검의 첨가는 farinograph 수분흡수율을 증가시키고 반죽의 안정도를 증가시켜 반죽을 강하게 하는 효과를 부여하였다. 쌀가루에 활성글루텐을 14% 첨가하고 검, 유화제 및 효소제를 복합처리하여 쌀빵을 제조한 후 쌀빵의 부피와 저장 중 경도변화를 조사하였다. 쌀가루에 첨가하는 활성글루텐의 양이 감소함에 따라 쌀빵의 부피가 감소하였지만 검, 유화제 및 효소제를 복합첨가 함으로써 쌀빵의 부피를 현저히 개선시킬 수 있었다. 활성글루텐만을 첨가한 쌀빵은 저장 중에 경도가 급격히 상승하였으나 검, 유화제 및 효소제를 복합첨가하여 제조한 쌀빵은 저장 중에 경도의 증가 폭이 현저하게 감소함을 나타내었다. 따라서 적절한 검, 유화제, 효소제의 복합처리는 쌀빵의 부피와 경도 변화 등 쌀빵의 품질에 매우 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 평가되었다.

        A reaction device raising a generation yield by efficiently removing water generated in an esterified reaction between diethylene glycol monoethyl ether and succinic acid with mixture of an azeotropic point was newly developed as a new product in development of more stabilized emulsifier with a semi-solid phase(cream) in an emulsified phase of interfacial activity. The bis-(diethylene glycol monoethyl ether succinate(hereinafter, called as BDGS) with a high yield of more than 95% was obtained. As this has a property containing amphoteric emulsified functions such as W/O type or O/W type, etc., and has a merit that can be used regardless of any emulsified phase, there is no need using other emulsified surfactant. therefore, as this has excellent skin wetability in the cosmetics industry, a product having a wider range in quality compatibility or cost saving, etc. as a humectant has been developed.

        Caprylic/Capric triglyceride-in-water emulsions stabilized by Nikkol HCO-60 and HCO-10 were prepared using emulsion inversion point method at different HLB values. Emulsions with various droplet sizes were formed, and emulsion inversion point was detected by electrical conductivity. The change in emulsion droplet sizes and long term stability were monitored using laser scattering method and visual method. The droplet sizes and stability of emulsions were affected by HLB of surfactant. At emulsion inversion point, the water volume fraction increased as the HLB of surfactants decreased. According to our analysis, this resulted from a tendency of forming the W/O (water-in-oil) emulsion as the HLB of surfactants was decreased. The emulsion inversion point was clearly detected by the microscope and the electric conductivity meter. Nanometer-sized emulsion was obtained at the optimum HLB by using emulsion inversion point method. The main pattern of instability of emulsions in HLB 12 and 13 systems was Ostwald ripening. However, The patterns of instability of emulsions below 11 of HLB systems were Ostwald ripening and coalescence. All emulsions produced with surfactants in the range of HLB 8-13, creaming caused by density difference between water phase and oil phase.

        In this study, the characteristics of emulsified fuel were studied. The emulsified fuel which was composed of water and diesel was manufactured by using homogenizer and ultrasonic generator. The more the percentage of water contents increases, the more the density increases to the emulsified fuel. However, the viscosity increased in the 60% of water contents and decreased in the 70% of water contents because the O/W type was formed. The 3 minutes's ultrasonic waves during the irradiation time was appropriate of 16,000 rpm. And the energy density of ultrasonic waves was 87.5J/g. The emulsion stability has improved in the lower temperature, the lower percentage of water contents, and the most stable emulsion state was obtained from 20%(w/w) of water contents. Also, the emulsion stability was related to the HLB values of emulsifiers. Especially, the HLB values of emulsifier were appropriate from 4 to 7 values.

        We designed capacitance sensor in order to examine characteristics of W/O type emulsified fuel, so it concluded the following conclusions. The capacitance value of emulsified fuel, using with capacitance sensor, increases as water content increases due to the coalescence. When surfactant increases, the capacitance value decreases, the condition of W/O type emulsified fuel was maintained stably. There was revealed the capacitance value difference of W/O type emulsified fuel in in according to water content. We checked the phase separation of emulsified fuel with the capacitance value difference. The surfactant(HLB=5.4) had better stable condition than surfactant(HLB=4.3). Also, we confirmed that two mixture surfactants were better than one surfactant.

        The propaganda paintings in oil colors or in forms of posters made from 1949 to1966 have gone through some changes experiencing the influence of the Soviet Union Artand discussion of nationalization, while putting political messages of the time in the pictureplanes. The propaganda paintings which have been through this process became aneffective means of encouraging the illiterate people in political ideologies, production, andlearning. Alike other propaganda paintings in different mediums, the ones which werepainted in oil colors and in the form of posters have been produced fundamentally basedon Mao Zedong’s intensification of the literary art on the talks on literature at Yenan. Yet,the oil paintings and posters were greatly influenced by the socialist realism andpropaganda paintings of the Soviet Union, compared to other propaganda paintings indifferent mediums. Accordingly, they were preponderantly dealt in the discussions ofnationalization of the late‘50s. To devide in periods, the establishment of People’s Republic of China in 1949 as adiverging point, the propaganda paintings made before and after 1949 have differences insubject matters and styles. In the former period, propaganda paintings focused on thepolitical lines of the Communists and enlightenment of the people, but in the latter period,the period of Cultural Revolution, the most important theme was worshiping Mao Zedong.This was caused by reflection of the social atmosphere, and it is shown that thepropaganda painters had reacted sensitively to the alteration of politics and the society. Onthe side of formalities, the oil paintings and posters made before the Cultural Revolutionwere under a state of unfolding several discussions including nationalization whileaccepting the Soviet Union styles and contents, and the paintings made afterwards showmore of unique characteristics of China. In 1956, the discussion about nationalization which had effected the whole world ofart, had strongly influenced the propaganda paintings in oil colors more than anything.There were two major changes in the process of making propaganda paintings in oilcolors. One was to portray lives of the Chinese people truthfully, and the other was toabsorb the Chinese traditional styles of expression. After this period, the oil painters usually kept these rules in creating their works, and as a result, the subject matters, characters, andbackgrounds have been greatly Sinicized. For techniques came the flat colored surface ofthe new year prints and the traditional Chinese technique of outlining were used forexpressing human figures. While the propaganda paintings in oil colors achieved high quality and depth, theposters had a very direct representation of subject matters and the techniques wereunskilled compared to the oil paintings. However, after the establishment of People’sRepublic of China, the posters were used more than any other mediums for propagation ofnational policy and participation of the political movements, because it was highly effectivein delivering the policies and political lines clearly to the Chinese people who were mostlyilliterate. The poster painters borrowed techniques and styles from the Soviet Unionthrough books and exhibitions on Soviet Union posters, and this relation of influencesconstantly appears in the posters made at the time. In this way, like the oil paintings, theposters which have been made with a direct influence of the Soviet Union had developeda new, sinicised process during the course of nationalization. The propaganda paintings in oil colors or in forms of posters, which had undergonethe discussion of nationalization, had put roots deep down in the lives of the Chinesepeople, and this had become another foundation for the amplification of influences ofpolitical propaganda paintings in the following period of Cultural Revolution.

        Core-shell polymers of methyl methacrylate-styrene system were prepared by sequential emulsion polymerization in the presence of sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate(SDBS) as an emulsifier using ammonium persulfate(APS) in an initiator and the characteristics of these core-shell polymers were evaluated. Core-shell composite latex has the both properties of core and shell components in a particle, whereas polymer blends or copolymers show a combined physical properties of two homopolymers. This unique behavior of core-shell composite latex can be used in various industrial fields. However, in preparation of core-shell composite latex, several unexpected matters are observed, for examples, particle coagulation, low degree of polymerization, and formation of new particles during shell polymerization. To solve this matters, we study the effects of surfactant concentrations, initiator concentrations, and reaction temperature on the core-shell structure of PMMA-PSt and PSt-PMMA. Particle size and particles distribution were measured by using particle size analyzer, and the morphology of the core-shell composite latex was observed by using transmission electron microscope. Glass temperature was also measured by using differential scanning calorimeter. To identify the core-shell structure, pH of the composite latex solutions was measured.

        Highly crosslinked micron-size monodispersed PMMA/PDVB and PS/PDVB particles were prepared using seeded multi-stage emulsion polymerization. PMMA and PS seed particles were synthesized by seeded multi-stage emulsion polymerization and soap-free emulsion polymerization. Then PMMA/PDVB and PS/PDVB particles were obtained using semi-batch type emulsion polymerized using divinyl benzene as a cross-linkable monomer in the presence of seed particles. PMMA particles with size of ca. 730 nm and polydispersity of 1.03 were successfully prepared in this experiment. PS particles with size of ca. 1.5 μm and polydispersity of 1.01 were prepared in this experiment. Highly crosslinked PS/PDVB particles with size of ca. 1.3 μm and polydispersity of 1.00 were obtained.

        Liquid crystal (LC) system was introduced into W/O emulsion in order to enhance the stability and moisturizing effect. The LC system, composed of beeswax, surfactant, and water was formed on the surface of emulsion droplet, which was investigated through a polarized microscope. The phenomenon that the viscosity in W/O emulsion system is decreased with time, was reduced by the formation of LC with the addition of beeswax. Centrifugal separation test showed that the stability of emulsion system was increased with the addition of beeswax to 3%. The color change of vitamin C was delayed in LC emulsion systems, which indicates stabilization effect against the oxidation of vitamin C. Evaporation rate in W/O emulsion was retarded by LC, so that high moisturizing effect is expected in W/O LC system.
