        최근 전기전자산업이 급격하게 발전함에 따라 첨단소재로서 희소금속 및 유가금속의 용도가 다양해지고 수요가 급증하고 있다. 일반적으로 습식제련공정에서의 모액은 황산용액 상태이며, 모액중의 유가금속(Cu, Zn) 및 희소금속(In, Se, Re 등)은 보통 수 ppm에서 수 % 단위로 용해되어 있다. 종래에 방법들은 비용이 많이 들고 폐기물이 다량 발생하여 경제적이지 못한 반면 막분리 공정을 이용하면 친환경적이면서 효율적으로 회수할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 내산성이 우수한 폴리아미드/실록산 블렌딩 나노여과막을 제조하고, 제조된 막의 구조적 특성 및 투과분리 특성에 대하여 살펴보았다. 그리고 제조된 분리막을 15 wt%의 황산용액에 대하여 내산성능평가를 진행하였다.

        복숭아의 저장성 증진을 위하여 30 ppm의 이산화염소수를 0~15분 동안 처리한 후 저장 기간에 따른 부패율, 이화학적 변화 및 기호도의 변화를 측정하였다. 대조군의 경우, 부패율은 저장 4일 이후부터는 부패된 복숭아를 보이기 시작하였으며, 저장 8일에는 31.25%의 부패율을 보였다. 그러나 이산화염소수 처리군은 4일차에는 부패된 것이 전혀 없었으며, 5분 처리군의 경우, 6일차에 6.25%의 부패율을 보였으며, 10분 및 15분 처리한 경우에는 8일 동안 저장하는 동안 부패한 것이 발견되지 않았다. 4일차에는 6시간 처리군만 12.5%로 가장 높게 나타났지만, 저장 6일차에는 열풍처리시간별로 각각 16.7, 25.0, 25.0%로 대조군과 비교할 때 모든 이산화염소수 처리군의 부패율이 현저히 낮게 나타났다. 중량변화의 경우, 저장 8일 동안 대조군의 변화가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. pH 변화에서는 이산화염소수 처리에 의한 차이를 보이지 않았으며, 저장기간 중 pH는 약간 증가하였다. 경도의 변화에서는 이산화염소수 처리에 의한 차이는 없었으나, 저장기간에 따른 변화에서는 대조군보다 이산화염소수 처리군이 다소 높은 경도를 나타내었다. 명도, 적색도 및 황색도의 변화에서는 대조군 및 이산화염소수 처리군 모두 처리 직후와 저장 중 차이를 보이지 않았다. 맛, 향, 색 및 종합적 기호도의 변화에서는 이산화염소수 처리 직후에는 대조군과 유의적인 차이가 없었다. 그러나 저장 중 대조군의 기호도 변화가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 전반적으로 대조군보다는 이산화염소수 처리군의 기호도가 높은 것으로 나타났다.

        This study was conducted to investigate the anti-bacterial effect of chlorine dioxide (ClO2) on extending thevase life of Gerbera jamesonii ‘Jenny’ which was first bredin Korea in 2012. Compared to commercialized biocides,ClO2 had been proved significantly effective for extendingthe vase life of cut gerbera flowers, equally with sodiumhypochlorite, silver nitrate, and 8-hydroxyquinoline sulfate.No bacteria were detected in the vase solutions treated withClO2 and these commercialized biocides on day 6 aftertreatment. But there were no significant differences on thevase life among the three ClO2 concentrations: 2, 5, and10μL•L−1. The ClO2 concentrations were rapidly decreasedon day 2 after treatment regardless of peduncle existence.Nevertheless, the antibacterial effect of ClO2 was main-tained up to day 6, indicating that the initial antibacterialeffect of ClO2 was a key factor for extending the vase life inthe gerbera flowers. The study results verified the antibacte-rial effect of ClO2 on prolonging the vase life of Gerberajamesonii ‘Jenny’ and demonstrated that appropriate ClO2application can prolong the postharvest life of cut gerberasvia its antimicrobial effect.

        It is important to predict chlorine decay with different water purification processes and distribution pipeline materials, especially because chlorine decay is in direct relationship with the stability of water quality. The degree of chlorine decay may affect the water quality at the end of the pipeline: it may produce disinfection by-products or cause unpleasant odor and taste. Sand filtrate and dual media filtrate were used as influents in this study, and cast iron (CI), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and stainless steel (SS) were used as pipeline materials. The results were analyzed via chlorine decay models by comparing the experimental and model parameters. The models were then used to estimate rechlorination time and chlorine decay time. The results indicated that water quality (e.g. organic matter and alkalinity) and pipeline materials were important factors influencing bulk decay and sand filtrate exhibited greater chlorine decay than dual media filtrate. The two-component second-order model was more applicable than the first decay model, and it enabled the estimation of chlorine decay time. These results are expected to provide the basis for modeling chlorine decay of different water purification processes and pipeline materials.

        인구의 증가와 산업의 발전으로 물에 대한 수요가 점차 증가하고 있는 상황에서 안전하고 지속가능한 수자원을확보하기 위한 방법으로 분리막을 이용한 수처리가 널리 사용되고 있다. 수처리장에서 가장 널리 사용되고 있는 분리막 중 하나인 폴리아마이드 분리막은 분리막 공정 전 단계에서 수행되는 염소살균 처리 후에 잔류하는 염소에 의해 화학적/구조적으로 영향을 받고 성능이 변화하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 논문에서는 pH에 따라 수중에 용해되는 염소의 종변화 및 염소에노출시 폴리아마이드 분리막의 표면 성질 변화와 성능변화의 원리를 다루었다.

        Three water treatment plants(WTPs) in Jeju island whose source water have different characteristics from those of the mainland of Korea were investigated. Coefficients of bulk water decay(kb ) of free chlorine at 5 ଌ for ES, GJ, NW WTPs were -0.003 hr -1, -0.002 hr -1 and −0.001 hr -1 respectively based on bottle tests.To simulate the free chlorine variations in the distribution system using EPANET, ES WTP was chosen. Free chlorine concentrations of several sites were less than the drinking water quality standards(i.e., 0.1 mg/L); E5(0.03 mg/L), E6(0.02 mg/L), W21(0.02 mg/L) and W25(0.03 mg/L). To maintain more than 0.1 mg/L of free chlorine in the distribution system, at least 1.9 mg/L of chlorine was needed at the WTP, which suggested rechlorination was needed to supply palatable tap water to customers.Two sites, one that diverged into E5 and E6 in the east-line and another located before E21 in the west-line were selected for the appropriate rechlorination locations. The recommended rechlorination dosages were 0.42 mg/L for the east and 0.27 mg/L for the west. The simulated results indicated that the free chlorine could be reduced to 0.4 mg/L at the WTP with rechlorination, and taps with excessive free chlorine could be more stabilized(i.e., 0.1 ~0.4 mg/L).

        Study on effluent organic matter (EfOM) characteristic and removal efficiency is required, because EfOM is important in regard to the stability of effluents reuse, quality issues of artificial recharge and water conservation of aqueous system. UV technology is widely used in wastewater treatment. Many reports have been conducted on microbial disinfection and micro pollutant reduction with UV treatment. However, the study on EfOM with UV has limited because low/medium pressure UV lamp is not sufficient to affect refractory organics. The high intensity of pulsed UV would mineralize EfOM itself as well as change the characteristics of EfOM. Chlorine demand and DBPs formation is affected on the changed amounts and properties of EfOM. The objective of this study is to investigate the effect on EfOM, chlorine residual, and chlorinated DBPs formation with low pressure and pulsed UV treatment. The removal of organic matter through low pressure UV treatment is insignificant effect. Pulsed UV treatment effectively removes/transforms EfOM. As a result, the chlorine consumption is changed and chlorine DBPs formation is decreased. However, excessive UV treatment caused problems of increasing chlorine consumption and generating unknown by-products.

        본 연구는 상용화된 방향족 폴리아미드 역삼투막에 diphenylamine (DPA)을 표면개질 시킴으로써 내염소성과 내오염성이 향상된 역삼투 복합막을 제조하고 최적화시키는 방법에 대해서 연구하였다. 역삼투막의 내염소성과 내오염성을 증가시키기 위해 반응성이 뛰어난 아민(amine)기를 가지고 있고 열적 화학적 안정성이 뛰어난 페닐기 2개가 있는 DPA를 사용하였고, 개질 온도와 시약 농도를 변화시켜가며 개질 조건을 최적화시켰다. XPS, AFM 그리고 contact angle을 이용하여 역삼투막의 표면 개질을 통한 표면 특성 변화를 확인하였으며 역삼투막의 투과성능 평가 결과 역삼투막의 내염소성과 내오염성이 향상된 역삼투 분리막을 제조하였다.

        본 연구에서는 셀룰로오스 트리아세테이트(CTA)를 사용한 loose RO 중공사 막이 상전환 법으로 제조되었고 이들의 수처리 특성이 평가되었다. 1,4-dioxane과 리튬클로라이드(LiCl)는 각각 스킨층 형성제와 기공 형성제로 사용되었다. 제조된 CTA 중공사막의 특성을 알아보기 위하여 전자주사현미경을 통하여 모폴로지를 관찰하였고, 수투과도 및 염 제거율, 내염소성 테스트, 그리고 분획분자량을 측정하였다. CTA/NMP/1,4-dioxane = 18/72/10 (wt%) 에어갭 30 cm의 중공사 분리막의 경우 20.5 L/m2hr의 수투과도와 60%의 염 제거율, NaOCl 10,000 ppm/hr의 내염소성 및 약 5,000 Da값의 MWCO를 나타내는 우수한 특성의 loose RO 막이 제조되었다.

        This study assessed the efficacy of aqueous chlorine dioxide (CIO2) and commercial chlorine sanitizer in terms of its ability to eliminate Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella Typhimurium, and Escherichia coli 0157:H7 on radish sprouts (Raphanus sativus L.). Radish sprouts were inoculated with a cocktail containing one each of three strains of three different foodbome pathogens, then treated with distilled water (control) or chemical sanitizers (100 ppm commercial chlorine, and 50, 100, 200 ppm CIO2) for 1, 5, and 10 min at room temperature (22士2℃). Populations of S.Typhimurium, E. coli 0157:H7 and L. monocytogenes were counted at 4.64, 6.05, and 4.29 log CFU/g, respectively, after inoculation. Treatment with water did not significantly reduce the levels of any of the three foodbome pathogens. The levels of all three pathogens were reduced by treatment with chemical sanitizers; however, the observed 1evels of reduction of E. coli 0157:H7 and L. monocytogenes were not significant as compared with the controls. The levels of the three pathogens were reduced most profoundly when treated for 10 min with 200 ppm of CIO2, and the reduction levels of S. Typhimurium, E. coli 0157:H7, and L. monocytogenes were 1.17, l.63, and 0.9610g CFU/g, respectively. When chemically injured cells were investigated using SPRAB for E. coli 0157:H7 and by selective overlay methods for S. Typhimurium and L. monocytogenes, respectively, it was noted that commercial chlorine sanitizer generated more numbers of Í넌red pathogens than did CIO2. These data indicate that CIO2 treatment may prove useful in reducing the numbers of pathogenic bacteria in radish sprouts.

        In order to obtain the maximum flame retardancy with the minimal deterioration of physical properties of PU flame-retardant coatings, chlorine and phosphorous functional groups were introduced into the pre-polymer of modified polyesters. In the first step, the tetramethylene bis(orthophosphate) (TBOP) and neohexanediol dichloroacetate (DCA-adduct) intermediates were synthesized. In the second step, 1,4-butanediol and adipic acid monomers were polymerized with the two kind of intermediates to obtain copolymer. The modified polyesters containing chlorine and phosphorous (ATBA-10C, -20C, and -30C) were synthesized by adjusting the contents of chlorine compound (dichloroacetic acid, 10, 20, 30 wt%) with fixed the content of phosphorous compound (2 wt%). The PU flame-retardant coatings (TTBAH -10C, -20C, and -30C) were prepared using the synthesized ATBAs and HDI-trimer as curing agent at room temperature. The physical properties of PU flame-retardant coatings with chlorine and phosphorous were inferior to those with phosphorous only and the properties were getting worse with increasing chlorine content. Flame retardancy was tested with three methods. With the vertical method, Complete combustion time of ATBAHs were 259~347 seconds, which means that the prepared coatings are good flame-retardant. With the 45˚ Meckel burner method, char lengths of the three prepared coatings were less than 2.9 cm, which indicates that the prepared coatings are 1st grade flame retardancy. With the limiting oxygen index (LOI) method, the LOI values of the three prepared coatings were in the range of 30~35%, which proves good flame retardancy of the prepared coatings. From the results of flame retardancy tests of the specimens that contain the same amounts of flame retarding compounds, it was found that the coatings containing both phosphorous and chlorine show higher flame retardancy than the coatings containing phosphorous alone. This indicates that some synergy effect of flame retardancy exists between phosphorous and chlorine.

        This study was focused on the maximization of flame-retardancy of polyesters by a synergism of simultaneously introduced chlorine and phosphorus into polymer chains of modified polyesters. To prepare modified polyesters, reaction intermediates, TD-adduct (prepared from trimethylolpropane/2,4-dichlorobenzoic acid (2,4-DCBA)) and TMBO (prepared from tetramethylene bis(orthophosphate)), were prepared first, then condensation polymerization of the prepared intermediates, adipic acid, and 1,4-butanediol were carried out. In the condensation polymerization, the content of phosphorus was fixed to be 2%, and the content of 2,4-DCBA that provides chlorine component was varied to be 10, 20, and 30wt%, and we designated the prepared modified polyesters containing chlorine and phosphorus as ABTT-10C, -20C, -30C. Two-component PU flame-retardant coatings (ABTTC, ABTTC-10C, ABTTC-20C, ABTTC-30C) were prepared by the curing of synthesized ABTTs with a curing agent of allophanate/trimer at room temperature. To examine the film properties of the prepared PU flame-retardant coatings, film specimens were prepared with the prepared coatings. The film properties of ABTTC, ABTTC-10C and ABTTC-20C, which contain 0, 10 and 20wt% 2,4-DCBA, respectively, were proved to be good, whereas the film properties of ABTTC-30C, which contains 30wt% 2,4-DCBA, was proved to be a little bit poor. Two kinds of flame retardancy tests, ˚45Meckel burner method and LOI method were performed. With the ˚45Meckel burner method, three flame-retardant coatings except ABTTC showed less than 3.4cm of char length, and showed less than 2 seconds of afterflaming and afterglow. From this result, the prepared flame-retardant coatings were proved to have the 1st grade flame retardancy. With the LOI method, the LOI values of the coatings containing more than 10wt% 2,4-DCBA were higher than 30%, which means that the coatings possess good flame retardancy. From these results, it was found that synergistic effect in flame retardancy was taken place by the introduced phosphorus and chlorine.

        Modified polyesters (TTBA-10C, -20C, -30C) that contain phosphorus and chlorine were synthesized by the condensation polymerization of tetramethylene bis(orthophosphate), neohexanediol trichlorobenzoate, 1,4-butanediol and adipic acid, in which tetramethylene bis(orthophosphate) and neohexanediol trichlorobenzoate were prepared previously in our laboratory. In this study, two-component flame-retardant polyurethane coatings (TTBA-10C/HDI-trimer=TTHD-10C, TTBA-20C/ HDI-trimer= TTHD-20C, TTBA-30C/HDI-trimer= TTHD-30C) were obtained by curing at room temperature with the synthesized TTBAs and hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI)-trimer as a curing agent. The obtained TTHDs were made into coating samples and used as test samples for various physical properties. The physical properties of the flame-retardant coatings containing chlorine and phosphorus groups were generally inferior to those containing only phosphorus group. Flame retardancy was tested by vertical and horizontal combustion method, and 45˚ Meckel burner method. Since the retardancy of flame-retardant coatings containing chlorine and phosphorus groups was better than that containing only phosphorus group, it could be concluded that the retardancy by the synergism effect of chlorine and phosphorus groups exhibited.

        The aim of this study is to synthesis basic resins for the preparation of PU flame-retardant coatings that contain phosphorus and chlorine. After synthesizing intermediates of tetramethylene bis(orthophophate) (TMBO) and neohexanediol trichlorobenzoate (TBA-adduct), the condensation polymerization was performed with the intermediates, 1,4-butanediol, and adipic acid to obtain four-component copolymers. In the condensation polymerization, the content of phosphorus was fixed to be 2%, and the content of trichlorobenzoic acid (TBA) that provides chlorine component was varied to be 10, 20, and 30wt%, and we designated the prepared modified polyesters containing chlorine and phosphorus as TTBA-10C, TTBA-20C and TTBA-30C. Average molecular weight and polydispersity index of the prepared TTBAs decreased with increasing TBA content because of the increase in the number of hydroxyl groups that retards reaction. We found that the thermal stability of the prepared TTBAs increased with chlorine content at high temperatures.

        본 연구에서는 polyamide계 방향족 역삼투막이 염소 라디칼에 의해 polyamide 결합이 분해되어 염배제율이 급격히 감소되는 반면 수투과도는 증가되는 것을 확인하였다 이러한 polyamide 역삼투막의 염소에 대한 저항성을 향상시키기 위해서 불소기 함유 실란커플링제(fluorine-containing silane coupling agent, FSCA)를 이용하여 역삼투막 표면 개질 후 막에 대한 표면 특성 및 내염소성 변화를 관찰하였다. 그 결과 FSCA의 농도가 증가될수록 막 표면이 dense하게 도포되었으며, 원소분석을 통해 FSCA가 부착되어 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 개질한 막 표면 조도는 감소되고 표면의 소수성이 증가됨을 접촉각의 증가로 확인 할 수 있었다. 이 결과를 종합하여 볼 때, 역삼투막을 FSCA로 표면개질 함으로써 개질막의 염소에 대한 저항성을 향상시킬 수 있었다.

        To maximize a synergy effect in flame-retardancy of flame-retardant coatings, phosphorus and chlorine were introduced in polymer chains. Two-components PU flame-retardant modified polyesters (ABTTC-10C, -20C, -30C) were prepared by curing, at room temperature, of isocyanate (allophanate-trimer) and prepared modified polyesters which contain phosphorus and chlorine. To examine the film properties of the prepared flame-retardant coatings, film specimens were prepared with the prepared coatings. The film properties of ABTTC, ABTTC-10C and ABTTC-20C, which contain 0, 10 and 20wt%, 2,4-dichlorobenzoic acid (2,4-DCBA), respectively, were proved to be good, whereas the film properties of ABTTC-30C, which contains 30wt% 2,4-DCBA, were proved to be a little bit poor. Two kinds of flame retardancy tests, 45˚Meckel burner method and LOI method, were performed. With the 45˚Meckel burner method, three flame-retardant coatings except ABTTC showed less than 3.4 cm of char length, and showed less than 2 seconds of afterflaming and afterglow. From this result, the prepared flame-retardant coatings were proved to have the 1st grade flame retardancy. With the LOI method, the LOI values of the coatings containing more than 10wt% 2,4-DCBA were higher than 30wt%, which means that the coatings possess good flame-retardancy. From these results, it was found that synergistic effect in flame-retardancy was taken place by the introduced phosphorus and chlorine.
