This thesis is on the initial evaluation of the Oracle Bone Inscriptions concerning divination as historical corpus, which is based on the data from word classification by meaning in the Oracle Bones from Xiaotun Locus South. The contents of the Oracle Bone Inscriptions concerning divination, such as “sacrifices”, “social appellations”, “wars” and “administration” , though not a degree, all have high frequency and concentration on words, and are relatively complex. The contents of the Oracle Bone Inscriptions concerning divination, such as “the divination”, “climate phenomenons”, “dates”, “natures and states” and “abstract actions”, though not a degree, all have high frequency and concentration on words, and are relatively simple. The contents of the Oracle Bone Inscriptions concerning divination, such as “livestock”, “climate phenomenons”, “wars”, “buildings” and “beasts”, though not in high frequency of words due to universality, are all relatively hot topics when horizontally compared with other Xianqin unearthed literatures. The various kinds of the Oracle Bone Inscriptions concerning divination above,though not a degree, all can truely reflect the language in Yin Dynasty to some extent, and therefore be as the corpus for certain research that is effective enough. However, various kinds of the Oracle Bone Inscriptions concerning divination lack the effectiveness in different degree.
The role of the dictionary of the “Kojiki” is investigated thoroughly, and this paper classifies it, and clarifies the whole aspect. I would like to study the origin of these dictionary technical terms in the following paper with the relation of space.
Clean the number of variant in the dictionary be handed down from ancient times, in order to describe the characters of standardization and the transmission condition of Chinese character. Through sorting out the unauthorized character in Song Edition Yupian宋本玉篇, we can find that the development of Chinese characters is a dialectical process: ancient SuTi, today Zheng Ti; today Su Ti, ancient Zheng Ti. The evolution of Chinese characters is from standard to the variation and from the new standard to the variation. Each standard of characters all make characters tend to brief and easy-to-use. The new standard substratum is always the original constraint mechanism. The original constraint mechanism is always adapt to the new development and presents different canonical form.
There are a lot of Oracle Bone Inscriptions in Yin Dynasty Ruins. But what the exact number is. Different ideas come from different people.The key one among many reasons is that the statisticians don’t have the uniform and specific standards. We can also use some rigid standards to judge the Oracle Bone Inscriptions of Hunting, for example, Shou, Ge, Tian(It has limited conditions), Xian, Jing, Bi, Qin, Fen etc.
The publication of Supplements of Entire Donovan(10 volumes) has great academic value offering extremely favorable conditions to the study of literature and history of tang dynasties. On the other hand, on account of the voluminous work, mistakes are unavoidable. This paper illustrates several mistakes of Supplements of Entire Donovan in sentences ,phrases and forms with hoping offer some help for collating and checking ancient documents and the studying of literature and history of Tang dynasties.
The study of the non-classical words in Dunhuang Manuscripts mainly focuses on the process of the analysis in the whole words. In the meantime, the component analysis should be another way to describe the influences of their variation to the formation, development and changing of non-classical words. In this paper, there are five sections to demonstrate the statistical study. Section one is elementary information about the study of non-classical words in Dunhuang Manuscripts which provides a brief introduction to the audience. The source of materials, the basis and methods of operation, and some particular issues are mentioned in section two. In the third and fourth section, charts and diagrams are used to illustrate the words sample set in relation to component variants, giving an explicit presentation about what changes had happened in the same component, and the relationship between components and their variants. The last section is a conclusion about what we had done in the study and what we need to pay more attention to in the future. The chiefly task of the study is to establish a visualized statistical database of component variations quantity statistics by means of components decomposing and classifying. The conditions of diachronic change and synchronic variation in components of non-classical words in Dunhuang Manuscripts can be shown distinctly. It also makes preparation for further studies on individual word, its evolvement rule and other relative research.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the aspects of social developments and cultural lives of early China reflected in The Book of Documents(Shangshu) which is a collection of China’s ancient literature and served as the basic data of Chinese political, historical, geographical, ideological aspects in the pre-Qin period. But there are many different copies of the text which include a lot of “scribal errors” and orthographic variants, because the Book of Documents was passed down for thousands of years. Jin teng(gold box) is also important for our understanding of the historical context at the beginning of the Zhou and Tsinghua Jane(清華簡) can provide different text articles for scholars. The text is not only helpful in reading words and understanding their meanings, but also beneficial for combining the edition. This thesis focuses on the different words, sentences, and a detailed explanation.
Common glyph of “tui” is mainly Chinese bronze inscriptions and Seal letter. There are two main types of its oracle glyph( and ). But they are not included in the commonly used dictionaries. According to the dictionary recorded, the relationship between and is usually just simply defined as variant character. But about the glyph of development relations there is still no conclusion.Through collecting ancient books and various point of view, I attempt to explore the volution of glyph and to discuss its oracle glyph of “tui”. And it is concluded that the two main types of its oracle glyph can only be identified as variants in the specific historical stage.
The traditional Chinese characters and the simplified Chinese characters are one of special writings in the history of Chinese characters, both of two characters owe the meaning and value in Chinese history. The essay criticize 13 points of characters principles between the traditional and the simplified Chinese characters, we discover that there have several writings lost function of the original phonetic component or pictograph in this vertical line relationship, and it make burden easily to people who learn and realize the simplified Chinese charactersnowadays. Therefore, the traditional Chinese characters have important condition that cannot be displaced and the work of revolution in Chinese characters in future need to consider the special relation betweentwo characters.
