The operation of a five day workweek seems to be increased continuously. Many city-workers will make good use of their spare time and search after a lot of devices that can seek for the maximum value of leisure utility. The demand of potential customers that want to enjoy weekend in farming villages is coming out greatly. That is, the condition of users that will travel the farming villages is getting better. But the actual states of farming villages are not ready in many parts yet. Therefore we must activate the tourist attraction in farming villages that can be satisfied the city-workers" expectation. And after making the sightseeing environment infrastructure, we must develop the programs intimate with environment, improve the sightseeing agricultural management and consolidate various systems as soon as possible.
So in this study, after investigating the demand preference degree of city-workers, I tried to grope an activation plan with the base which will reach. Being more urgent what more, not the simple sightseeing agriculture that the farming experience was the focus of, but it is very important to develop the program of environment sightseeing agriculture. It will lay the stress on playing and education culture which city-workers can enjoy and experience. And with constructing the base facility like a city form, we must develop cheap and various goods and the execution of modernized weekend farms. For this, first the consciousness conversion against the customer management of farmers must precede and the change of government policy and the support polity is important. I hope that this study with the five-day workweek has the chance to contribute in the economic growth of farming villages and efficient use and management of the natural environment resources through the activation of sightseeing agriculture.
Environmental-friendly agriculture(EFA) has been mainly developed at many areas which have factors of natural, social cultural and economic characteristics. These rural areas can be developed into environmental-friendly space to preserve ecosystem, natural and cultural scenery, and environmental resources. The plan for developing a regional agriculture has to get central operating bodies, producers" organizations, a homogeneous district for farming, and so on.
This case study is focused on development directions and situations of the EFA of Kosam area in Anseong. Kosam cooperatives is a central managing body to produce and sell rice by duck-farming method, and to develop rural area. This cooperatives is one of the leading those that have developed the regional agriculture in Korea. Kosam area is at a disadvantage of natural -geographical conditions and farming size. Kosam cooperatives has been trying to overcome these agricultural weaknesses by introducing duck-farming method. They have got many excellent results through developing EFA as a regional agriculture. Kosam area will be a good place for green tourism if they can actualize the combination model of three demand factors (natural and agricultural scenic view, natural-friendly recreation and safe food) for green tourism in the near future.
The purpose of this study is to analyze policies on environmental-friendly agriculture(EFA) and find out some implications. As we know well, EFA contributes environmental substantiality by using organic production methods and provides consumers with a secure, safe nutritious food supply. As consumption of environmental-friendly agricultural products increasing, policies on EFA began in the 1990s and it has been generally expanded in Korea. The strategies for sustainable EFA aim to promote harmony among human beings and between humanity and nature require. In addition, support to develop marketing activities, regionalization, and political support must be further developed.
It was investigated the possibility to use charcoal powder as beneficial soil conditioner, which used frequently in environmentally friendly agricultural farming system. For this purpose, the effects of charcoal powder on the growth of red pepper and chemical and microbiological properties of soil were also determined. The application of charcoal powder resulted in no significant differences of pH and EC in the soil compared to those of control. However, small particle size of charcoal powder increased yield of red pepper while large charcoal powder resulted in decrease of root growth of red pepper. Furthermore, the application of charcoal powder resulted in changes of soil microflora relating to plant growth stage. The number of the nitrogen fixing bacteria and fungi increased at the early growth stage, while phosphate releasing fungi in the soil increased at the late stage of growth by charcoal powder application. These beneficial effect of charcoal powder on the soil microbial properties was larger by the use of smaller particle size of charcoal powder. Therefore, it indicated that the small size of charcoal powder might be more influential on the red pepper yield and soil microbial properties may be due to large capacity of nutrients uptake for the plant and microorganisms. Additionally the optimal application amount of charcoal powder for the red pepper could be suggested as much as 300㎏ 10a⁻¹ for the both purposes of improvement of crop yield and retardation of the nutrients accumulation by excess charcoal application.
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of microbial liquid manure(MLM) on the growth and yield characteristics of Altari radish ( Raphanus sativus L.). MLM 1,000㎎ㆍL⁻¹, MLM 2,000㎎ㆍL⁻¹ and MLM 1,000㎎ㆍL⁻¹+microbial fermentation compost(MFC) 600㎏/10a were treated. MLM was sprayed on leaves at 10, 20, and 40 days after planting.
Leaf length and width of radish in all microbial fertilizer treatments were more vigorous than that of control significantly. Number of leaves was great in order of 1,000 ㎎ㆍL⁻¹ MLM+600㎏/10a MFC > 2,000㎎ㆍL⁻¹ MLM > 1,000㎎ㆍL⁻¹ MLM. SPAD reading value was increased with treatments of 2,000㎎ㆍL⁻¹ MLM and 1,000㎎ㆍL⁻¹ MLM+600㎏/10a MFC. Root length and weight of all the microbial fertilizer treatments tended to increase compared with control, and 1,000㎎ㆍL⁻¹ MLM+600㎏/10a MFC treatment was the most effective.
A total of 192 Korean landraces were investigated for the comparison of each other as useful germplasm to organic farming and examined correlation between quantitative traits. Almost Korean landraces were classified into medium-heading variety and average days from seeding to heading was 111.1 days. Plant height and culm length were longer about 20~40㎝ than general Japonica cultivar. Average width of leaf blade and average length of panicle were 1.3㎝ and 22.4㎝, respectively. Average number of panicles per plant was 10.0 and almost varieties showed low tilling habit. Average length/width ratio of brown rice was 1.7 and several varieties were long grain type and average 1,000 grain weight was 21.6g. In correlation coefficient among quantitative traits, positive significant correlations were observed between culm length and leaf width, days from seeding to heading, but negative correlations were observed between days from seeding to heading and 1000 grain weight. 27.1% of Korean landraces showed weak and lodging degree in culm strength and 3.6% of total varieties showed purple margin on leaf blade and leaf sheath. In leaf blade angle and flag leaf angle, erect type was 46.9% and 10.9%, respectively. 24.0% of total varieties showed the slow and late degree of leaf senescence. The rate of awned type, waxy type and brown seed coat were 74.5%, 20.3% and 4.2%, respectively. The color of stigma, spikelet, apiculus and awn showed diverse color such as white, brown, red and purple.
So far, we have pursued only convenient and efficient growth of economy, as a result, environment surrounding us has been destroyed and the rights of our existence gotten to be even threatened. We need to ensure our lives and at the same time, need a power with which agriculture undertakes global circulation structure and a power that is able to preserve our environment we live per se. Therefore, in the near future, the final objectives of agriculture structure for 21st century would be to increase productivity of highly developed agricultural products in accordance with the ecosystem and a recycling agriculture.
What is a recycling agriculture? In the narrow sense, it means provisions-producing- system related to interactive recycle of material among forestry, livestock husbandry and seeding agriculture. In the broad sense, it means to produce credible agricultural product by keeping balanced resources via conversion to complete degradable material of organic wastes produced within rural village. Based on this concept, finally, our goal is to construct the resources recycling community.
Environment friendly agriculture ⇒ organic agriculture ⇒ recycling (circulation) agriculture ⇒ construction of community with resources recycling.
Therefore, in order to construct recycling agriculture, most of all, it is considered that the following, it should be established reasonable standard amounts for fertilizer, manure and liquid fertilizer based on results of soil test by each region, nature-recycling form of crops production and livestock production systems by maximizing utilization of different recycling byproducts occurring in the crop producing process by each region.
