This study explores the development processes of organic farmers" groups that have tried to manage farming activities at the regional level. They formed the groups from different reasons and situation each other. The motives to set up the groups differ between them. Some set up for the local farmers movement, others aim to get more income from the group activities. Whatever the motives, they all have been succeeded in the agricultural sector. Many new-born farmer"s groups in organic farming sector tend to be regarded them as the models for success. Therefore, it is important to clarify how they have overcome difficult situation that may differ from group to group. This study tries to find and compare the four organic farmers groups with the factors of the historical processes for establishment, the process of business development, and the development of networks.

This work is described as an early effort to study organic products marketing. Discusses the characteristics, barriers and vitalization strategies of developing new markets in an environment of increasing consumer awareness and marketability of organic products. Barriers to developing new markets for organic products include lack of basic information or poor understanding among farmers of sustainable techniques and practices, poor access to markets, high start-up costs, lack of understanding the developing market, uncertainty in marketing and pricing, consumer habits, inadequate financing, including resistance to paying premium prices, misinformation and misapprehension concerning the production of organic products. Recommends strategies for implementing sustainable systems, e.g., involve government agencies, educating and organizing both farmers, processors, and consumers developing marketing and distribution programs. Examines business strategies that have successfully targeted markets, such as advertising, labeling, public relations and communications, gaining consumer trust, partnerships, and diversifying operations.

The object of this study is to analyze marketing situations and to suggest developing issues for organic farming. Organic agricultural products (OAP) has been steadily grown by an annual 36.4 percent over the past ten years, and production of OAP took up 4.5 percent of the Environmentally friendly agricultural products (EFAP) in 2009. 9,403 farmers, cultivated area 13,343ha and production 108,810 M/T in Organic agriculture are respectively formed 0.8 percent, 0.8 percent and 0.6 percent of Korea agriculture in 2009. And production of livestock products to have been certificated from the year 2005 was over 10,000M/T in 2008. OAP is mainly distributed by direct marketing system. The market size of OAP is 188.5 billion in 2008 and has been grown by an annual 30.1 percent. The price difference between OAP and general agricultural products is about 65.8 percent. Several issues on the marketing system of OAP are as follows : overcost of OAP marketing socially, imbalance of supply and demand, absence of standard price, institutional insufficiency to marketing within wholesale market, retail price inflexibility of consumer"s cooperative, and so on.

We need fundamental plan to develop Environment-friendly agriculture which has essential effect to agriculture and rural community. It should be avoided the structural problem that the farming corporations has gone through in present. Firstly, it needs to be systematized and constructed farming complex for the priority. The government initiated Environment-friendly agriculture business and expanded agriculture business as the part of the policy. There are some researches which have been studied the systematization and the construction of farming complex. It is suggested and mentioned various kinds of policies and directions so far. But, it is not mentioned any practical models. That means it seems to be various differences between each farming corporations in the structural cases. This research suggests the most optimized model of Environment-friendly agriculture by analyzing structural differences between ‘Natur’ farming Corp and ‘Sancheong-gun’ expanded Environment-friendly farming complex.

This study was conducted to determine the effect of probiotics as an alternative for antibiotics on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, noxious gas emission and fecal microbial population in growing piglets. A total of 96 piglets (22.5±1.3㎏ average body weight) were allotted to 3 different treatment groups and replicated 4 times with 8 piglets per replicate in randomized complete block design. Treatments were T1) (Control, basal diet+0.2% antibiotics), T2) 0.2% probiotics complex and T3) 0.3% Bacillus probiotics. During the whole experiment period, there were no differences (p>0.05) in average daily gain (ADG), average daily feed intake (ADFI) and feed efficiency. However, digestibility of dry matter, crude protein, ether extract, nitrogen free extract and crude ash were showed higher in probiotics groups (T2 and T3) than those of control. In noxious gas emission, ammonia, amine, hydrogen sulfide and mercaptan were significantly (p

This study was established on which germanium (Ge), known as one of the functional nutrients, treatment is the most effective method for increasing Ge uptake and contributing flowering development in the pruned branches in the winter. Ge treatment included foliar application, soil fertigation, trunk injection, and the three-combined application. Ge concentration in the pruned branches was greater on the three-combined treated trees, and Ge treated branches had greater Ge concentrations than the control. Pruned branches grown in the solution culture had greater bud weight and bud scale number on the Ge treated trees than the control. Ge treatments increased flowering per branch and flower number per bud as well as improved resistance of the freezing temperature damage. Overall, there were no consistent results of all the variables by the Ge application methods.

This study carried out to evaluate toxicology of Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium and Melia azedarach against natural enemies in the laboratory, and the diamond backmoth, Plutella xylostella, on chinese cabbage. In the evaluation of the toxicity on predatory mite of phytoseiid Phytoseiulus persimilis, Hypoaspis aculeifer, Amblyseius cucumeris, A. wormersleyi, A. swirskii, the two plant extracts were classified into moderate selective toxicity as recommended by international organization of biocontrol (IOBC). The mummies parasitic natural enemies, Trichogramma evanescens, Aphidius ervi, Aphidius colemani, Eretmocerus eremicus, Encarsia formosa were found to be relatively safe to the plant extracts except Eretemocerus eremicus. In the field study for the control of diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella, single spray of C. cinerariefolium indicated that the control effect dropped from 21th days after the spraying. In the 3 times of spray with 7 says intervals, the mortality effect low at the beginning, but increased to 91.1 at 21 days after spraying. Single spray of M. azedarach showed a 96.7% mortality on P. xylostella at 14 days after spraying, and thereafter decreased. In the three times of spray with 7 days intervals of M. azedarach, the mortality of P. xylostella was 100% at 14 days and its effect was maintained to 28 days after treatment. Consequently, it was suggested that M. azedarach be sprayed before C. cinerariaefolium application.
