The paper describes condition success for the development and policy environment of organic farming in Korea. policy measures concerning area-based financial support for conversion to and continuation of organic farming, officially-recognized standards and support for market and regional development, advice and research are considered. This indicates that individual measures can also work against each other. In some region, good experiences habe been made with integrated action plan, an approach that is also being discussed at the national level and which could achieve a good basis for the development of Bio-farming in future.

The works of the special economic zone for regional development(SEZone) have been promoted for developing the regional economy corresponding with its own peculiarities by not national, but local level of government. Namely, those set the goal at specialized development of regions through an appeasement policy against regulations. So local governments must originate the local works, get financial sources by itself, and then revitalize the regional economy. The policies of many local governments aim at increasing farmers’ income by developing rural society to cope with open economy system. By the way they have tried to revitalize agriculture and rural society by promoting actively the works of SEZone through an appeasement policy against regulations. And it is important to search for specialized factors based on regional resources, and to make connected with them together so as to obtain good results in the works of SEZone. This study examined regulations related to environmentally friendly agriculture and green tourism. And it researched about the effect of SEZone works on regional economy and develops indices of result estimation. So schemes for strategies for increasing demand and development issues were presented.

This study was conducted to establish the environment-friendly cropping system of soybean in paddy field with different soil textures. When the soybean was cultivated in paddy fields, growth responses of testing cultivars varied depending on soil texture and cultivation method. Growth responses of soybean in sandy loam tended to be better than those in clay, however the effect of high ridged cultivation was distinguished in clay loam. Especially, formation of rhizome nodule was significantly different depending on soils ; more numerous rhizome nodules were formed in sandy loam compared to that in clay. Plant heights of Taekwangkong and Eunhakong were highest in clay and sandy loam, respectively, while the number of pods and branches of Eunhakong were most in both soils. In clay paddy field, growth responses of Eunhakong were best among the testing cultivars, however high ridged cultivation was more appropriate to the cultivar compared to level row cultivation regardless of soils. Taekwangkong showed the highest leaf area indexes during whole growth stages. Leaf development of Daewonkong was suppressed in clay at early growth stage, while it significantly increased as growth stages progressed. Most retard leaf development was observed in early maturity cultivar, Hwaseongputkong, since it seemed to be seriously damaged by excessmoisture injury in both soils. Comparing the dry weight of top plants and roots, plant growth was more affected by soil texture than cultivation methods at early vegetative growth stage, via verses at R2 or R5 stages. In yield characters and yields at R8 maturity stage, pods number of Eunhakong was significantly higher than those of Daewonkong and Taekwangkong estimating to 107 and 124 in clay and sandy loam, respectively. The ratio of ripened seeds was highest in sandy loam in combination with high ridged cultivation, while the lowest in clay with level row. The yields of Deawonkong and Eunhakong were higher compared to other testing cultivars ranged from 182~286㎏/ha depending on soils and cultivation methods. In results, growth responses and yields of testing cultivars tended to be higher in sandy loam in combination with high ridge compared to clay with level row.

Indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) biosynthesis by bacteria occurs widely in rhizospheres. Bacterial species able to synthesize IAAmay be exploited for beneficial interactions in crop management systems. The objective of this study was to determine the response of ivyleaf morningglory (Ipomoea hederacea) seedlings to IAA and to an IAA-producing rhizobacterum, Bradyrhizobium japonicum isolate GD3. IAA solution and isolate GD3 suppression of seedling growth measured as radicle length and biomass depended on IAA concentration. Seedling radicle length was significantly reduced by ca. 29% with more than 1.0 ㎛ of IAA solution, compared to the control, 48 h after application. The cell concentration at 50% growth reduction (GR₅₀) of the seedling radicle was IAA production by isolate GD3 at 104.82 cfu, the cell concentration for 50% growth reduction (GR₅₀) of seedling radicle was 0.24 ìM, which was much lower than the IAA solution concentration (117.48 ㎛) required for GR₅₀. Therefore, excess IAA production by isolate GD3 may be more detrimental to morningglory radicle growth than standard IAA solution. Results confirmed involvement of IAA in suppressive effects of isolate GD3 on morningglory seedlings grown in a hydroponic system.

This study was conducted to develope efficient vermicomposting using of different mixture ratios of cow manure and rice hull by feeding these to earthworm and then by studying the growth and reproductive efficiency of earthworm, and the chemical composition of worm cast and its production. The results are summarized as follows. C/N ratio of feed was 20.43~31.16 and it increased according to the higher proportion of rice hull, and survival of earthworm was 97.6~98.4%. Number of young worms were significantly higher in 10~40% addition of rice hull(number of 824~844) than number of 769 of real cow manure treatment(P<0.05). Fresh weight of young worms was 8.00~11.8g and it was significantly higher in 40% addition of rice hull than for other treatments(P<0.05). The cast production of earthworm was significantly lower in the 40% addition of rice hull than for other treatments(P<0.05). But digested matters were showed in the tendency of becoming higher in the 40% addition of rice hull than in 10~30% addition of that. C/N ratio of worm cast was significantly higher in 40% addition of rice hull than for other treatments(P<0.05). Heavy metal concentrations of worm cast were showed in the tendency of becoming lower in the 40% addition of rice hull than in 10~30% addition of that.

With treatment of Kitosan, Wood vinegear and EM(effective microoganism) which farmers call it as substance in fertilizing, conditioning and disease control ubstances, authors in vestigated on microorganisms change in soil and ealy growth characteristics of tomato. The results were summarized as follows : Among foliar application of kitosan, wood vinegear and EM(effective microoganism) treatments diluted by chitosan 500 times solution level was effective considering growth of tomato as compared other dilutions and control plot. Change of microorganism number in the soil for cultivation of tomato was increased with microorganism treatment plot as compared with control plot. Specially chitosan 500 times solution level showes the most significant effect.
