        Wild grass is edible, and it grows in the mountains or field areas. Wild grass has diverse biological effects, such as antiobesity, anti-cancer, antioxidant activities and immune stimulation. Currently, many studies are aimed at enhancing the efficacy of medicinal foods on biological activity using a bioconversion technology, including the fermentation process. In this study, the quality characteristics and antioxidative activity of the fermented wild grass was investigated. The antioxidant activity of fermented wild grass was assessed by various radical scavenging assays using DPPH(2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl), FRAP(ferric ion reducing antioxidant power), reducing power, and ABTS (2, 2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid)). Moisture contents of the fermented wild grass is 49.6±0.06%. Contents of crude ash, crude protein, and crude fat were 0.65±0.01, 0.65±0.04, and 3.3±0.59%, respectively. Moreover, fermented wild grass showed that the hunter's color values were 80.36(lightnees), 11.47(redness), and 44.53(yellowness), respectively. Total phenolic contents of the fermented wild grass was 1, 185±159 ㎍ GAE(gallic acid equivalent)/g. The antioxidative activities of the fermented wild grass were significantly increased in a dose dependent manner. In addition, fermented wild grass did not show any cytotoxicity up to 500 ㎍/㎖. However, the anti-adipogenic effect of the fermented wild grass extract was barely detectable. This antioxidant potential is partly due to the phenolic compounds that are present in the fermented wild grass extracts.

        This study was done to analyze the contents of minerals and vitamins to compare the measured values of minerals, vitamins with labeled values of them in food labeling and to investigate the ratio of measured values to labeled values in 437 specimen with minerals and vitamins - fortified commercial beverages and liquid teas. Content of calcium and sodium in samples after microwave digestion was analyzed with an ICP-OES (Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer) and vitamins were determined using by HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography). The measured values of calcium were ranged 80.3~142.6% of the labeled values in 21 samples composed calcium - fortified commercial beverages and liquid teas. In case of sodium, measured values were investigated 33.9~48.5% of the labeled values in 21 sports beverages. The measured values of vitamin C, vitamin B2and niacin were ranged 99.7~2003.6, 81.1~336.7, 90.7~393.2% of the labeled values in vitamins - fortified commercial beverages and liquid teas, 57, 12, 11 samples. To support achievement of the accurate nutrition label, there must be program and initiatives for better understanding and guidances on food labelling and nutrition for food manufacture.

        줄무늬폭탄먼지벌레속(Mastax)은 분류학적으로 폭탄먼지벌레아과(Brachininae), 폭탄먼지벌레족(Brachinini)에 속하며 세계적으로 50여종이 아시아와 아프리카에 걸쳐 분포하는 희소 분류군이다. 본 속의 종들은 소형이며, 일반적으로 빨간 체색 과 딱지날개의 특이적인 줄무늬 문양을 지닌 아름다운 색체를 띠고 있다. 국내에 서 최근 줄무늬폭탄먼지벌레, Mastax thermarum egorovi (Lafer, 1973), 1종만이 보고된 바 있다. 이에 추가적으로 2009년도 충북 청원지역에서 채집된 표본에 대 한 검토 결과, Mastax formosana Dupuis, 1912로 확인되었다. 이에 따라서 전자현 미경적 미세구조 등 형태적 특징을 보고하고자 한다.         국내에서 Theophilea cylindricollis Pic, 1985로 학명을 적용해온 작은초원하늘 소에 대한 분류학적인 문제가 있음이 최근에 확인되었다. Theophilea cylindricollis Pic은 목하늘소아과(Lamiinae) 초원하늘소족 (Agapantini) 작은초원하늘소속 (Theophilea Pic, 1985)의 일원이었으며, 동일 속에는 세계적으로 2종만이 알려져 있다. 하지만 국내에서 알려져 온 작은초원하늘소을 형태분류학적으로 검토한 결 과, 진정한 Theophilea cylindricollis Pic뿐 아니라 초원하늘소족 (Agapantini Mulsant)의 정의와도 명확한 형태적 차이점이 있었다. 오히려 원통하늘소족 (Hippopsini)의 정의에 가까운 것으로 판단되어 해당 족의 근연 4속을 비교 검토해 본 결과, 형태적으로 원통하늘소속 (Pseudcalamobius)에 가깝지만 더듬이의 길이 와 눈의 형태에서 뚜렷한 차이가 있어 향후 별도의 속으로 구분되어야 할 필요성 이 제기되었다.

        Vanadium, a dietary micronutrient, has been reported to present interesting biological and pharmacological properties, including superoxide and nitric oxide scavenging effects. Low-dose ionizing radiation (LDR) is known to damage DNA and cause apoptosis of peripheral immunocytes by producing reactive oxygen species (ROS). The aim of this study was to elucidate the capacity of immune activation of Jeju water containing vanadium on immunosuppression caused by LDR. We examined the ROS production, DNA damage, cell apoptosis and proliferation of peripheral immunocytes in irradiated mice drinking different concentrations for 90 days; V0 (vanadium 0㎍/L, control), V1 (vanadium 15~20㎍/ L) and V2 (vanadium 20∼25㎍/L). Compared to V0 control where level of ROS showed tendency to increase, the ROS production was attenuated in peripheral immunocytes of irradiated mice drinking V1 and V2. DNA damage of peripheral immunocytes triggered by LDR significantly increased in mice drinking V0 compared to non-irradiated control, whereas V1 and V2 dramatically induced remission of DNA damage. On the observation of apoptosis of peripheral immunocytes, V1 and V2 showed the potency to reduce the number of apoptotic cells. On the other hand irradiated mice drinking V0 exhibited raised number of apoptotic cells. From the results obtained, we speculated that Jeju water containing vanadium (V1 and V2) has a potential role in decreasing DNA damage and apoptosis of immune cell by inhibiting ROS production. Consistent with this, Jeju water containing vanadium (V1 and V2) exhibits a capacity to enhance cell proliferation of peripheral immunocytes, which is suppressed by LDR as shown in V0 control. Collectively, Jeju water containing vanadium reduced DNA damage and apoptosis and induced the stimulatory potential on immunocytes. These results suggest that Jeju water containing vanadium sustained immune activities under immunosuppression caused by LDR.

        EPC Information Services (EPCIS) is an EPCglobal standard designed to enable EPC-related data sharing within and across supply chain. The EPCIS standard defines standard interfaces to enable EPC-related data to be captured and subsequently to be queried using a set of service operations and an associated data model. There are two kinds of EPCIS data: event data and master data. Event data is created in the process of carrying out business processes. Traceability of goods across supply chain is based on event data. Therefore, each company must have an event data. This study compared he difference between MS-SQL(DRDBMS) and ALTIBASE(MMDBMS) for data storage. We compared the difference between two database management in many respects such as insert time and select time. We come to a conclusion that ALTIBASE is more efficient than MS-SQL.

        일반적으로 물류센터에서는 많은 작업이 발생하고, 처리되는 물품 또한 그 수량이 매우 많아서 작업 제품 정보들을 빠르고 정확하게 처리하기 위해서는 많은 비용이 발생한다. 이러한 오류를 줄이고, 실시간 정보처리, 객체의 가시성 확보, 제품 이력 추적 등의 이점을 얻기 위해 RFID 기술을 도입하는 기업들이 증가하는 추세이며, 최근에는 RFID를 활용하여 전 세계적으로 표준화된 단일 네트워크를 만들고자 하는 EPC Global Network에 대한 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 EPC Global Network의 게이트웨이 역할을 하는 EPCIS에서, 정보의 저장소 역할을 하는 EPCIS Repository의 최적화에 대해 연구한다. 실제 물류 센터에서 발생하는 비즈니스 프로세스를 바탕으로 시나리오를 작성하고, 물류센터의 시나리오에 따라 발생되는 EPC 데이터를 DRDBMS와 MMDBMS를 통해 각각 저장하고 검색하여 두 DBMS의 성능을 비교하였다. DRDBMS는 MS-SQL을 사용하였고, MMDBMS는 ALTIBASE를 사용하였다. 실험 결과 AlTIBASE가 MS-SQL보다 좋은 성능을 보임을 알 수 있었다.

        The air logistics process is complex and need many informations because various agencies participate in the logistics service and there are many stakeholders in air logistics. But it is hard to improve the infra of facilities because of an enormous expense, so it needs to simplify air logistics process for growing air freight. When documents are sent, it needs to change the form of documents in spite of same document due to different form by agencies. Also documents are changed even though different documents have same informations. Consequently, errors are increased because the names of the same data are different from each other and stakeholders reproduce the documents. In order to mitigate these problems, we selected documents and analyzed data of documents for the interface optimization in general air logistics process. Next, we unified the names of data and defined contents of data. Also we set the type of the defined data on DB type, and gave the code to the defined data. It made easy to exchange informations among the stakeholders to match documents corresponding with the defined data.

        A survey of total aflatoxin levels was conducted on 145 samples(carthamiflos, thujae semen, giycyrrhizae radix et rhizoma) collected in Yakyeang markets in Seoul. Aflatoxin levels were quantified by the immunoaffinity column clean-up method followed by performance liguid chromatography(HPLC)-fluorescence detector(FLD). Aflatoxins were found in 10(6.9%)samples including 5 Arecae semen, 4 Thujae semen, 1 Zizyphi semen with a range of 0.45~79.15 μg/kg. Generally These results show that the contamination level of aflatoxins in Herb Medicines consumed in Korea is high compared with the standard in Korea Herb Medicine Code(10 μg/kg as aflatoxin B1). It is considered that aflatoxin concentration was increased in herb medicines during a storage and drying in herb medicines examined

        EPCIS(EPC Information Services) system is a core component of EPCglobal Architecture Framework offering information of the freights, the time of awareness and the location of awareness on the EPCglobal Network. The role of EPCIS is to exchange information based on EPC. There are four kinds of event data which are object event data, aggregation event data, quantity event data, and transaction event data. These EPCIS events data are stored and managed in EPCIS repository. This study suggest the quantitative modeling about total number of EPCIS event data under the assumption to aware the RFID tags of items, cases(boxes), vehicles(carriers, forklifts, auto guided vehicles, rolltainers) at a time on the reading points. We also estimate the number of created EPCIS event data by the suggested quantitative modeling under scenario of process in the integrated logistics center based on RFID system And this study compare the TO-BE model with the AS-IS model about the total sizes of created EPCIS event data using the simulation, in which we suggested the TO-BE model as the development of the repository by skipping the overlapped records.

        This study was carried out to investigate the current status of suspected endocrine disrupting pesticides among the agricultural products in northern area of Seoul in 2007. 3,026 samples was analyzed by multiresidue method. Detected Pesticide in 11 cases were procymidone, endosulfan, chlorothalonil, chlorpyrifos, cyermethrin, fenvalerate, hexaconazole, carbendazim, pendimethalin, permethrin, parathion and exceeded 7 cases of endosulfan, procymidone, carbendazim, chlorothalonil, chlorpyrifos, cypermethrin, fenvalerate in the maximum residue limits(MRLs). Procymidone, endosulfan, chlorothalonil and chlorpyrifos comprised up to 80.5% in detected pesticides. Among the 321 cases of detected agricultural products, 287 cases(89.4%) were vegetables, 25 cases (7.8%) were fruits, Others were 9 cases(2.8%).

        Artemisia scoparia (A. scoparia), perennial herb is indigenous to Korea and has been traditionally used in liver damage. We investigated the effect of the essential oil obtained from A. scoparia on apoptosis of KB cells. Cytotoxicity and cellular DNA content were analyzed by MTT assay and flow cytometry, agarose gel electrophoresis, and Hoechst 33258 staining. The caspase-3 and poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) proteins were estimated by Western blotting method. We found that the essential oil induced the apoptosis of the KB cells by concentrations of 0.4 to 0.2 mg/ml which was verified by DNA fragmentation, apoptotic bodies, and the sub-G0/G1 ratio. The essential oil also transient caspase-9 and caspase-3 activity and cleavage of PARP in KB cells for 24 h. The essential oil-induced apoptotic cell death was accompanied by up-regulation of Bax and down-regulation of Bcl-2. In conclusion, we demonstrated that the essential oil of A. scoparia induces apoptosis in KB cells

        In an effort to evaluate the currents in pesticide residues, 3,020 agricultural products were tested by multiresidue method with 260 pesticides, obtained from the circulation market of in the Gangbuk province in 2007.20.4%(616/3020) of the products were determined to contain pesticides residues, but only 4.1%(124/3020) of these were deemed to be unsuitable by the korea Food Code. Unsuitably products were spinach(21.0%), perilla leaf(17.3%), ulgari(13.6%), leek(12.4%), crowndaisy(12.4%), asterscaber(12.4%), chard(11.1%). Detected pesticides were procymidone(3.9%), endosulfan(2.6%), chlorfenapyr(2.2%), bifenthrin (1.3%), cypermethrin(0.7%), metalaxyl( 0.9%), azoxystrobin(0.3%) and chlorothalonil(0.7%). Sixty-four pesticides were detected and 11 pesticides were newly detected in 2007. Thirty-one pesticides in agricultural products exceeded their MRLs.
