In this study, the grid field olfactory odor method was supplemented to the domestic situation in the surrounding areas of a domestic science industrial complex. The actual condition of the occurrence of odor frequency in the field was then investigated over the first period of late spring to summer and the second period of autumn in 2017. The frequency of odor occurrence in the area around the science industrial complex was increased as odor discharge facilities in the nearby area were concentrated. The odor occurrence frequency of the total period was 0.09~0.28, that of the first period was 0.08~0.32, and that of the second period was 0.05~0.25. The odor occurrence frequency in summer was higher than in autumn. The frequency by which the measurement of odor occurrence by smell type was most dominant was mainly smell of chemicals, plastics, and livestock houses during the first period, and the smell of chemicals, burning gases, and plastics during the second period. And the frequency of each smell type was judged to be different according to season. The odor occurrence frequency was measured as higher than 0.15, which is the standard of Germany's odor frequency in an industrial area, and it was judged that measures for odor management in the region were necessary. Since most of the odor discharge facilities are non-continuous systems and the odor generation frequency is more important than the concentration of the minimum detection concentration, it was judged that the German grid method can reflect the odor occurrence characteristics of the odor complaints or receptors for a certain period of time compared to the domestic measurement method. In the future, it was judged that the field olfactory odor method would be able to replace the evaluation method of odor assessment in Korea with the survey method of odor assessment under actual conditions in areas where it is difficult to access the odor discharge source or the receptor where odor complaints occur.
This study was performed to evaluate the odor occurrence of offensive leather odor in a district in Gyeonggi-do, where Jeil industrial complex is located, and its residential district, by using olfactory field frequency measurement (Gird Method). In addition, we measured the composite odor. The target points were 9 spots in Jeil industrial complex and 12 spots in the residential district, and we conducted the measurements 13 times each spot. As a result, odor occurrence in descending order was investigated as follows, leather industry > drug industry > food industry. Moreover, odor exposure of the industrial complex exceeded the industrial zone standard of 0.15 (=German odor standard) in all 9 spots (average 0.78). In addition, odor exposure of the residential district exceeded the residential zone standard of 0.10 (=German odor standard) in 12 spots (average 0.78). All the composite odors were below 20 (industrial zone standard). However, as the odor intensity of the sampling site and the lab analysis data showed a large deviation, we found that much supplementation is needed of the odor analysis techniques in the equipment measurement methods.
In the retail environment where online-shopping malls are growing, offline store are find it difficult to survive simply by selling their products. As a result, offline retailers are trying to find unique services that are appealing to their customers. In such a market environment, marketing strategies that stimulate the five senses other than the sight can be an alternative. Therefore, this research is aimed at observing the effect of the senses on emotion and purchase intention in a fashion retail context. A two by two experimental design (existence vs non-existence of scent x existence vs. nonexistence of eating chocolate) between subjects was used. A total of 120 participants were randomly assigned to the four situations, and they were asked to complete the questionnaires about emotion and purchase intention. The survey data were statistically analyzed using SPSS 23.0, and results are as follows. After a two-way ANOVA, we observed a statistically significant effect of the scent service on pleasure and purchase intention the sweet offering service on purchase intention. Moreover, when scents service and sweet offering service were provided at the same time, the highest purchase intention was obtained among other services. In addition, we studied the effects of emotions on purchase intentions, and the pleasant emotions resulting from the services have a positive effect of on purchase intentions.
In this study, we conducted a survey on odor characteristics of single odor and collective odor facilities using the German olfactory odor method and carried out the odor frequency modeling. The influence of the odor from a sewage treatment plant, which is a single discharge facility, was strong in the eastern and northern parts of the plant and appeared to be in good agreement with the areas where the odor complaints were frequent. The German olfactory method reflects the odor complaints and odor occurrence characteristics of the receptors as compared with the domestic odor measurement method. The influence of the odor from the odor control area, which is a collecting and discharging facility, showed a tendency in which the sum of the odor occurrence frequency increased with the proximity of the odor discharge facility to the dense industrial complex. Furthermore, it was judged that it is not easy to extract the odor frequency results for individual facilities because the survey subject is the group discharge facility area. Therefore, it will be necessary to introduce a method to manage odor in the future. In this study, the measurement of odor frequency using the German olfactory odor method is partially applied to some odor sources. Appropriately, it is not applicable to various emission sources. However, the odor measurement method based on odor occurrence frequency and odor sensory can be used for investigation of the actual condition, permits of odor discharge facilities and the environmental review.
The purpose of this study was to explore olfactory sensitivity of odors from injection molding processing. To do this, the experiment was carried out in an injection molding factory, and participants were exposed to the environment where odor-substances (Formaldehyde, Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Xylene, Styrene) exist. In addition, we used the subjective scale using semantic adjectives as an olfactory sensitivity. As a result, the assessment structure of olfactory sensitivity was composed of eight factors (irritant, thermal, tense, unique, like-dislike, active, stable, masculine), and the main factor which was irritant characteristics explained 20% of the total olfactory sensibility. These results suggested that odors from injection molding processing would cause more negative emotional responses than the flavor which is mainly used in olfactory sensitivity. This study, as a basic study of the improvement in a factory environment for the efficiency of work, has limits in that it was conducted to the extent of identifying the olfactory sensitivity structure of those who were at a laboratory and who were exposed to the environment of odor substance induced in the injection molding processing. Therefore, for the method of removing malodorous substance, the effect of materials which can neutralize it, and the comparison of a direct performance in the environment where negative sensitivity structure exists, a series of studies which aim to improve the environment of injection molding factories, such as performance assessment in the environment of a factory and an office need to be conducted. It is expected that when these studies are put together, the improvement guidelines will be provided as a type that can maximize the effectiveness of work in the factory environment where injection molding processing is done.
영상실감증대를 위한 시각, 청각, 촉각정보의 제시방식에 대해서는 많은 진보가 이루어 졌다. 반면 후각은 정의하기 어렵고 다루기 까다롭기 때문에 관련연구를 찾아보기 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 후각정보를 통한 영상실감증대 연구의 첫걸음으로 후각정보에 대한 사용자 수용도를 조사한 후 이에 근거하여 다양한 영상을 분류하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 영상에 냄새가 존재하는지 (냄새존재여부), 그 냄새가 실감을 증대시키는지 (실감증대효과), 영상과 함께 해당 냄새를 경험하고 싶은지 (냄새제시선호)라는 세가지 질문을 선정하였다. 각 질문들에 높은 혹은 낮은 점수를 받을 만한 다양한 장르의 영상 (51)개를 수집한 후, 참가자들에게 하나씩 영상을 시청하게 한 후 위의 세가지 질문에 대해 7점 척도로 평정하게 하였다. 영상분류를 위해 두 질문씩 쌍으로 묶어 각 질문의 척도를 2차원 평면의 X, Y축으로 설정한 후 평정값을 이용하여 영상분류를 위한 산포도를 구성하였다. 2차원 평면의 서로 다른 사분면에 위치한 영상군집들은 영상실감증대를 위한 후각정보 제시에 중요한 시사점을 줄 것으로 기대한다.
토마토를 흡즙하여 피해를 주는 직접적인 피해보다 배설물에 의한 그을음 증상 과, 특히 TYLCV를 매개하여 경제적으로 큰 피해를 입히는 담배가루이를 친환경 적인 방제방법을 고안하고 천적의 방제효과를 극대화 할 수 있는 방법으로 담배가 루이 성충을 유인할 수 있는 트랩식물을 선발코자 본 실험을 수행하였다. 담배가루 이가 가장 문제시 되고 있는 가지, 피망, 오이, 국화를 1차 대상으로 담배가루이의 유인효과를 Y-tube Olfactometer를 이용하여 조사하였다. 가지와 피망에서는 가지를 선호하였고, 가지와 오이에서도 가지를 다소 선호하 는 양상을 보였다. 가지와 국화에서는 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으나 가지를 다소 선호 하는 양상을 보였다. 오이와 국화에서는 국화를 선호하였고 국화와 피망에서는 피 망을 선호하였다. 4가지 작물에 대한 4-Choice Olfatometer test에서도 가지와 피망 을 선호하는 양상을 보였으며 밀폐된 실험실에서 No-choice test를 실시한 결과에 서는 가지와 오이를 선호하였다. 가지와 오이를 대상으로 토마토와의 Y-tube olfacto-test에서는 가지와 오이보다 토마토를 더 선호하여 트랩식물로써의 활용가 치가 없음을 확인하였다.
In this study, the masking effect of olfactory stimulus on the awakening state due to sound stimuli while driving using Graphic Driving Simulator was observed through the response of autonomic nervous system. The test was conducted for 11 males in their twenties. The siren of ambulance car was presented to them as auditory stimulus for 30 secs while driving in a situation of high way in the condition of both peppermint and control, respectively, and LF/HF ratio of HRV (Heart Rate Variability), the activity index of sympathetic nerve, and GSR (Galvanic Skin Response) response were examined. The test was proceeded in the order of three stages, that is, sound stimuli (test 1), driving performance, and sound stimuli (test 2), and fragrance stimulus, driving performance, and sound stimuli (test 3), and the physiological signal of GSR, HRV was measured in the whole stages. As a result of test, comparing the results of before and after auditory stimulus test (1) (p < 0.01), test (2) (p < 0.05), and test (3) (p <0.01), driving performance test (2) (p < 0.01), test (3) (p < 0.01), and olfactory stimulus test (3) (p < 0.05), respectively, GSR response increased, showing significant difference in all the tests. It indicates that when auditory stimulus was presented to the subjects, they were in the awakening state as sympathetic nervous system got activated. As a result of comparing auditory stimulus while driving before and after presenting olfactory stimulus, there was no significant difference in GSR response. The LF/HF ratio of HRV increased, showing a significant difference only in test (2) (p < 0.05), and in driving performance test (2) (p < 0.05) in auditory stimulus, however, it showed no significant difference in olfactory stimulus. As a result of comparing auditory stimulus while driving before and after presenting olfactory stimulus, there was a decrease, showing significant difference (p < 0.05) in LF/HF ratio of HRV. That is, it means that the activation of sympathetic nervous system decreased, and that parasympathetic nervous system got activated. From these results, it was observed that while driving, the awakening level due to auditory stimulus was settled with olfactory stimulus. In conclusion, it was drawn that while driving, olfactory stimulus could have the masking effect on auditory stimulus.
본 연구는 자동차 시뮬레이터에서 운전 중 제시된 후각 자극이 외부에서 제시된 청각자극의 각성 상태에 대한 마스킹 효과를 자율신경계 반응을 통해 알아보고자 하였다. 실험은 20대 남성 11명을 대상으로 하였고, 향 자극은 peppermint를 제시하였다. 청각자극은 구급차 싸이렌 소리를 70~75db의 크기로 30초 동안 제시하였다. 자동차 운전 상황은 편도 3차선의 한적한 도로를 주행하였고 자율신경계의 반응은 피부반응(GSR: Galvanic skin Response)의 변화를 살펴보았다. 실험결과 control, 운전수행, 후각 자극 중 운전 수행, 각각에서 청각 자극 제시 전,후 비교는 모두 유의차(p<0.05)를 보이며 제시 후가 증가하였고, 각각의 청각 자극 후의 비교는 유의차를 보이지 않았다. control, 후각 자극, 각각의 운전수행 전,후 비교는 모두 유의차(p<0.05)를 보이며 후가 증가하였고, 각각의 운전수행 후의 비교는 유의차를 보이지 않았다. control과 후각자극의 비교는 유의차(p<0.05)를 보이며 후각 자극 시 증가하였다. 위와 같은 결과는 후각 자극이 운전수행중 청각자극으로 인한 각성 수준에 영향을 주지 못함을 의미한다. 즉 후각 자극이 청각자극에 대한 마스킹 효과가 일어나지 않음을 시사한다.
목적 : 본 연구는 뇌졸중으로 인한 연하장애 환자를 대상으로 흑후추 기름(Black Pepper Oil: BPO)을 이용한 후각 자극이 연하기능 회복에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구 방법 : 뇌졸중 후 연하장애를 가진 환자 20명을 대상으로 BPO 후각자극을 이용한 연하장애 치료 중재를 적용하 는 실험군과 증류수 후각자극을 이용한 연하장애 치료 중재를 적용하는 대조군으로 각각 10명씩 나누었다. 6주에 걸친 치료 중재 전·후의 연하기능을 비교하기 위해 기능적 연하장애 척도를 이용하였다. 결과 : BPO 후각자극을 이용한 연하장애 치료 후 유의한 연하기능의 향상을 보였고(p<.05), 항목별 변화는 삼킴반 사 지연, 후두상승과 후두덮개 폐쇄, 후두계곡의 잔여물, 인두 통과 시간 항목에서 유의한 연하기능의 향상을 보였 다(p<.05). 결론 : BPO 후각자극을 이용한 연하장애 치료가 뇌졸중으로 인한 연하장애 환자의 연하기능을 호전시킨다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 BPO 후각자극을 이용한 연하장애 치료는 연하장애 치료의 새로운 방법으로 사용이 간단하 고 비용이 저렴하여 작업치료 임상에서 유용하게 적용될 수 있을 것이라 생각된다.
The 1960s is a decade that is marked by new concepts of art making and artappreciation. Starting from Fluxus, the new art in the 1960s such as Happenings andperformance art pursued the process of art making as an integral part of artistic experience. The traditional concept of art works that only appeal to vision soon became a site ofcontentious experiments and innovations in which the experience of seeing isaccompanied by other sensual encounters of sound, smell, touch, and taste. These attemptscan be seen as a revolutionary move to restore the sense of corporeality to the act ofseeing that has been disembodied by the way in which western art has built the unifying,homeogenous field of vision. This paper delves into the works of Fluxus artists—Daniel Spoerri, Ben Vautier,Alison Knowles, Ay-O, and Takako Saito—who were central figures in taking art into thenew age of post-ocularcentrism. Exploring the sense of smell, touch, and taste, these artistsled the viewer to participate in their art making with the incorporated vision.
This study was conducted to investgate the effect of gamma irradiation on the lipid oxidation, olfactory properties, fatty acid isomer and volatile compound profiles of five different oil sources. Three plant oils, canola oil, corn oil and soy oil, and two animal fat, tallow and fish oil, were irradiated with 0, 5, 10, and 20 kGy level of dose by Co-60 as a radiation source. Lipid oxidation parameters, FFA, POV and TBARS, were determined according to the AACC and AOCS method. Olfactory property of irradiated oil sources was analyzed using electronic nose (FOX3000, AlphaMOS Co., France) with 12 metal oxide sensors and the result was interpreted using principle component analysis program. Fatty acid isomer profiles and volatile compound profiles of irradiated oils were also measured by GC and GC-MS, respectively. Although the free fatty acid level of oil were the highest by high dose level (20 kGy) of irradiation, changes of both TBARS and POV values by gamma irradiation were varied between oil sources and irradiation level of dose. Electronic nose analysis showed a distinct difference among dose levels of irradiation. Although there was no new volatile compound produced by gamma irradiation, amounts of each volatile compounds were increased by irradiation. Only cis isomer, 9c12c15c of linolenic acid was dose-dependently decreased as irradiation level increased but there was no difference among other isomer profiles of linoleic acid and linolenic acid by gamma irradiation. This study showed that changes in physico-chemical properties of both plant and animal oil were remarkable by gamma irradiation. Therefore, a further study should be needed to scrutinize the interaction among lipid oxidation, production of volatile compounds and off-flavor, and isomerization of fatty acid by gamma-irradiation.

대부분의 후각 감성평가 연구에 있어서는 모든 피험자에게 동일한 농도의 냄새 시료를 제시하고 있다. 하지만 피험자의 후각 기능은 노화 등을 비롯한 여러 가지 요인으로 다를 수 있고 이러한 차이는 후각 감성에 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 후각 감성평가 시 냄새 시료를 제공하는데 있어서, 모든 피험자에게 동일한 시료를 제공한 경우와 피험자 개개인의 후각 역치를 고려하여 냄새 시료의 농도를 조절한 후 제공한 경우에 있어서 후각 감성특성 및 감성구조에 차이를 보이는 지 알아보았다. 피험자는 만 19세 이상 대학생 남녀 30명(남자: 18명, 여자: 12명)이었고 사용된 냄새 시료는 T&T olfactometer의 다섯 가지 냄새 기준물질이었다. 동일한 피험자에게 두 가지(실험 1과 실험 2)의 실험을 수행하였는데, 실험 1에서는 피험자 개개인의 후각 역치를 기준으로 냄새 물질의 농도를 조절하여 제공함으로써 모든 피험자가 동일한 냄새 강도를 지각하도록 가였다. 실험2에서는 모든 피험자에게 동일한 농도(+1)의 냄새 시료를 제공하였다. 실험 수행 결과, 냄새 시료 제시 방법(후각 역치 고려 유무)에 따라 후각 감성특성에 있어서 유의적인 차이를 보였는데 냄새에 대한 선호도가 명확하지 않은 시료에 있어서 이러한 차이가 더 크게 나타났다. 이러한 차이는 후각 감성구조에도 영향을 미쳤는데, '심미성', '강도', 그리고 '활동성'은 공통요인이었고, '친화성'(실험 1)과 '중량감'(실험 2)은 후각 역치 고려 유무에 따라 다르게 나타났다. 이러한 결과들을 통해 볼 때, 피험자의 후각 역치 고려 유무에 따라 후각 감성특성 및 감성구조가 다르게 나타날 수 있다고 볼 수 있겠다. 따라서, 냄새 시료에 대한 후각 감성평가를 수행하고자 할 때, 피험자의 후각 역치 및 기능과 이에 따른 냄새 시료 제시법 또한 신중하게 고려해야 할 것으로 사료된다.
동양의학에서는 사람의 체질의 허와 실에 따라 적절한 처방을 한다. 즉, 사람의 체질을 목, 화, 토, 금, 수의 오행으로 구분하고 그 체질에 따라 강하고 약한 장부를 서로 균형이 되도록 하는 것이다. 예컨대 그 처방의 하나인 향기요법도 나약한 신체부위를 보강해 주는 향을 사용하여 치료를 하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 오행요법은 실제 임상에서는 많은 효과를 보고 있지만 과학적 근거보다는 통계적 및 주관적 요소가 강한 면이 있기 때문에 이에 대한 보다 체계적인 연구가 절실히 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 음양오행의 특성을 감안, 폐의 기능이 강한 금형과 반대로 나약한 화형을 대상으로 하여 일단 쓴맛이 나는 라벤더(lavender)향을 자극, 뇌파의 반응정도를 파악해 봄으로써 향과 체질간의 상관관계를 분석하고 나아가 오행요법의 적용가능성을 알아보았다. 그 결과 라벤더 향은 화형인 사람에게는 강한 장부인 담을 편안하게 하여주고 금형인 사람에게는 약한 간과 강한 담을 서로 균형을 맞추도록 하여 간담을 안정시키는 효과가 있음을 보여주었다. 이는 그 동안 동양의학(한의학)에서 말하는 오행처방과도 일치하는 결과라 하겠다.
