        Flammulina velutipesis a popular edible mushroom in South Korea, accounting for approximately 30% of the total mushroom export in the country. Despite its significant position in the domestic mushroom industry, approximately 65% of the cultivated F. velutipes are foreign varieties. To secure variety rights and enhance competitiveness in the export market, there is a need to develop domestic varieties with stable production and excellent shelf life. We focused on breeding a new variety called 'Baekwoon' through mon–mon crossing, using 'Baekseung' and an international collection strain (KMCC02260) as parents. Baekwoon exhibited faster mycelial growth rates at 15 °C and 25 °C and higher mycelial growth across four tested media compared to that of the control variety. Under bottle cultivation, Baekwoon had a mycelial cultivation period that was shorter by approximately 2 days compared to that of the control. The yield of Baekwoon was 228.0±10.9 g, 8.3% more than that of the control. Furthermore, Baekwoon displayed distinct morphological features characterized by a larger pileus and thicker stipe compared to that of the control variety. Genetic tests confirmed that Baekwoon is genetically different from both parental strains and the control variety. It is expected that the newly developed F. velutipes variety, Baekwoon, will be evaluated for its adaptation in different regions and actively promoted in the field, ultimately increasing the market share of domestic varieties.

        The purpose of this study was to breed a variety of stable productivity and high storage characteristics of white Hypsizygus marmoreus, which has high demand at domestic and global market due to a low bitter taste and the preference for white species. Accordingly, ‘Baekmaru’ was bred by hybridizing brown and white cap color species and backcrossing with white species. The ‘Baekmaru’ variety was bred by crossbreeding the brown and white species and backcrossing the white species. Through repeated cultivation of ‘Baekmaru’, a variety with a low contamination rate was selected when culturing the spawn for stable cultivation. As a results of demonstration test, the yield of ‘Baekmaru’ was 14% higher than that of the commercial variety. In addition, among the fruiting body characteristics of ‘Baekmaru’, diameter and thickness of the pileus were 16.43±15.27mm and 6.46±0.58mm, which were slightly higher than the commercial variety, and the hardness was 2.69±0.89N for the pileus and 3.09±0.89N for the stipe. The shelf life showed less change in thickness and color of pileus compared to commercial variety. The hardness of pileus of 'Baekmaru' was maintained in the range of 3.5 to 4.0N in the 4oC and 4oC and 20oC mixed treatment until 30 days of storage, and was higher than that of the commercial variety. Therefore, it was suggested to be excellent in storability.

        신품종 백아는 갈색계통간 교잡에 의하여 우리 고유의 백색계통을 최초로 개발하여 이 계통을 이용하여 육성하였기 때문에 기존의 일본 유래의 백색계통에서 벗어난 한국형 백색 품종이라 할 수 있다. ‘백아’의 주요특성으로 균사배양 최적온도는 25~30oC이며,버섯발생온도는 12~13oC, 자실체 생육온도는 67oC이다. 자실체의 갓 색깔은 백색으로 다발성이며 품질이 우수하고, 자실체 대가 단단하고 곧으며 굵고 길며 식미감이 좋은 특성을 가지고 있다. 균긁기후 발이까지 7일정도 소요 되며 병당(850ml) 수량은 111 34g로 전형적인 병재배용 백색 팽이 품종이라고할 수 있다. 재배상 유의할 점은 환기량이 많으면 대가 짧아지고 갓이 커져 품질이 저하되므로 CO2 농도를 4,000ppm까지 높여 주는 것이 좋다.

        A new rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) variety ‘Jungmo 7003’ is with early flowering and disease tolerance, which has white petals. ‘Jungmo 7003’ was developed from the cross between ‘Tower’ as female parent and ‘AB130’ as male parent in 1983. The selection for advanced lines with white flower had been done by the pedigree method. A promising line, ‘83025-B-1-1-2’, was selected and designated as the name of ‘Mokpo113’. It had good results from regional adaptation yield trials at four locations for two years from 2013 to 2014 and was released as the name of ‘Jungmo 7003’. ‘Jungmo 7003’ has light-green and middle parted leaf, light-green stem and black seed coat. Since, the prominent very special trait of ‘Jungmo 7003’ is white flower, it can be used for landscaping purposes created farm-art images. The flowering date of ‘Jungmo 7003’ was 16th April and ripening date was 5th June. The yield of ‘Jungmo 7003’ was 207 kg/10a, which was 6% lower than ‘Hanlayuchae' in regional adaptation trials. ‘Jungmo 7003’ showed high resistance to screrotium. The oil content of ‘Jungmo 7003’ was 43.8%. In fatty acid composition of ‘Jungmo 7003’, oleic acid content is 68.4%, which is 1.2% higher than ‘Hanlayuchae'. ‘Jungmo 7003’ will be adaptable to southwestern area including Jeonllanam-do, Jeollabuk-do and Gyeongsangnam-do and Jeju island of Korea.

        농촌진흥청 국립식량과학원에서 논 조건 적응 국수용 품종의 제분율 증가와 붉은곰팡이병 저항성 증진을 목적으로 1996년도에 백립계 춘파 다수성인 Bacanora88을 모본으로 하고, 현재 국내 최대 재배되고 있는 금강밀을 부본으로 인공교배하여 YW2948 조합을 육성하였다. 경기도 연천에서 집단재배 후 계통을 전개하여 초형과 수형이 양호하며 숙기가 빠르고 내한성이 강한 계통인 YW2948-B-B-1-1-1-1-1-1을 2005년과 2006년도 2년간 생산력검정을 거쳐 ‘익산320호’로 계통명을 부여하고, 2007년부터 3개년 동안 지역적응시험을 실시한 결과 숙기가 빠르며 백립계이고, 붉은곰팡이병에 중도 저항성을 나타냈다. 제분율이 높으며 밀가루와 국수 색택이 밝고, 식미감이 우수하여 2009년 농작물 직무육성 신품종심의회에서 ‘중모2004’로 명명하였다. 그 후 국립종자원의 재배심사를 거쳐 2013년 종자산업법제55조에 따라 품종보호 등록 원부에 등록되었다. 중모2004의 파성은 III형으로 양절형이고, 엽색은 녹색이며 이삭은 방추형이고, 종자는 중간크기로 백색이다. 출수기와 성숙기는 밭 조건 조건에서 각각 4월 24일과 6월 4일로 금강밀보다 1~2일 빠르고, 논 조건에서는 각각 4월 21일과 6월 2일로 2일 빠르다. 내한성은 금강밀보다 약하지만 수발아 저항성은 금강밀보다 강하고, 흰가루병과 붉은곰팡이병은 감수성이다. 중모2004의 제분율은 금강밀보다 약간 낮지만, 밀가루의 품질과 국수 가공특성이 비슷한 특성을 보였다. 천립중은 42.5 g으로 금강밀보다 약간 적은 소립이며, 지역적응성 시험에서 밭 조건 수량은 517 kg/10a으로 11% 감소하였고, 논 조건 수량은 534 kg/10a로 금강밀보다 3% 증수하였다.

        “Joongmo2003”, a winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivar was developed by the National Institute of Crop Science, RDA. It was derived from the cross “SW86054/Keumkang” during 1997. “Joongmo2003” was evaluated as “Iksan318” in advance yield trial test in 2006. It was tested in the regional yield trial test between 2007 and 2009. Its heading date was April 24 in upland and April 21 in paddy filed conditions, which were two days earlier than those of the check cultivar Keumkang, respectively, and Maturing date was June 4 in upland and June 2 in paddy field, one or two days earlier than those of Keumkang, respectively. “Joongmo2003” showed resistance to winter hardiness and pre-harvest sprouting, which lower withering rate on the low ridge (0.3%) and rate of pre-harvest sprouting (18.5%) than “Keumkang” (9.2 and 25.8%, respectively).“Joongmo2003” showed similar protein content (13.2%), lower SDS-sedimentation volume (54.0ml) and higher gluten content (11.7%) than “Keumkang” (13.1%, 57.8ml and 10.8%, respectively). It showed higher lightness (89.85) of flour and noodle dough sheet than “Keumkang” (89.81 and 80.28, respectively). “Joongmo2003” exhibited similar hardness (3.84), springiness and cohesiveness of cooked noodles (0.92 and 0.63) compared to “Keumkang” (4.54N, 0.93, and 0.63, respectively). The average grain yield in the regional yield trial was 5.55MT/ha in upland and 4.85 MT/ha in paddy field, which were 4% and 7% lower than those of the check cultivar, Keumkang, respectively.

        “Joongmo2004”, a winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivar was developed by the National Institute of Crop Science, RDA. It showed 830 in number of spikes per m2, 35 of grain number per spike, 44.9g of 1,000 grain weight, and 806g of test weight. “Joongmo2004” showed moderate to Fusarium head blight (Scab) in test of specific character although “Keumkang” is susceptible to scab. “Joongmo2004” had higher flour yield (75.5%) than “Keumkang” (72.5% and 0.42%, respectively). “Joongmo2004” showed similar ash (0.42%), lower protein content (12.3%), SDS-sedimentation volume (43.0ml) and gluten content (10.3%) than “Keumkang” (0.42%, 13.1%, 57.8ml and 10.8%, respectively). It showed higher lightness (89.97), redness (-1.38) and yellowness (10.76) in flour color than “Keumkang” (89.61, -1.15 and 9.46, respectively). “Joongmo2004” exhibited lower hardness (3.50N), similar springiness and higher cohesiveness of cooked noodles (0.92 and 0.65) compared to “Keumkang” (4.54N, 0.93, and 0.63, respectively). The average grain yield in the regional yield trial was 5.17MT/ha in upland and 5.34 MT/ha in paddy field, which were lower 11% and higher 3% than those of the check cultivar, Keumkang, respectively.

It was derived from the cross “Sinmichal/Keumkang” during 2006. “Joongmo2012” was evaluated as “Iksan357” in advance yield trial test in 2010. It was tested in the regional yield trial test between 2011 and 2013. Its heading date was May 2 in upland and May 1 in paddy filed conditions, and Maturing date was June 8 in upland and June 8 in paddy field, which were similar to Keumkang, respectively. It showed 628 in number of spikes per m2, 34 of grain number per spike, 47.6g of 1,000 grain weight, and 762g of test weight. “Joongmo2012” showed susceptible to Fusarium head blight (Scab) in test of specific character although “Keumkang” is susceptible to scab. “Joongmo2012” had lower flour yield (68.4%) than “Keumkang” (73.5%, respectively). “Joongmo2012” showed similar ash (0.40%), lower protein content (11.7%), SDSsedimentation volume (39.8ml) and gluten content (8.1%) than “Keumkang” (0.41%, 12.7%, 55.8ml and 9.2%, respectively). It showed higher lightness (92.70) in flour color than “Keumkang” (91.51, respectively). “Joongmo2012” exhibited lower hardness (3.19N), similar springiness and higher cohesiveness of cooked noodles (0.90 and 0.66) compared to “Keumkang” (4.21N, 0.90, and 0.62, respectively). The average grain yield in the regional yield trial was 5.48MT/ha in upland and 4.47 MT/ha in paddy field, which were higher 5% and similar than those of the check cultivar, Keumkang, respectively

        “Baechal”, a winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivar was developed by the National Institute of Crop Science, RDA, Iksan, Korea, during the period from 2006 to 2012. The heading and maturing dates of this variety were May 1 and June 5 in upland, and May 2 and June 8 in paddy field, respectively. It is an It is an awned, semi-dwarf and hard white wheat. Culm and spike length of “Baekchal” were 75cm and 8.7cm. It had lower test weight (794g/ℓ) and 1,000 grain weight (35.7g) than “Keumkang”. It showed moderate to pre-harvest sprouting, which lower rate of pre-harvest sprouting (13.7%) than “Keumkang”. “Baekchal” had similar ash content (0.47%) and protein content (13.1%) to “Keumkang”. It showed lower gluten content (9.6%), SDS-sedimentation volume (38.2㎖) and amylose content (6.5%) than “Keumkang”. It showed higher high viscosity (643BU), water absorption (213%), expansibility of cooking (357%). It showed different composition in HMW-GS compositios (2*), PPO18 (876bp), GBSS (waxy type) and Puroindolines composition compared th “Keumkang”. Average yield of “Baekchal” in the regional adaptation yield trial test was 4.89 ton/ha in upland and 4.83 ton/ha in paddy field. “Baekchal” would be suitable for the area above –10℃ of daily minimun temperature in January in Korean peninsula

        새로운 참깨품종 ‘밀성’을 농촌진흥청 작물시험장 영남 시험장에서 2007년에 개발하였다. 교배조합은 이리4호와 ‘수원131호’로 고품질, 다수성, 내병성을 목적으로 하였다. ‘밀성’은 계통육종법을 이용하여 생산력검정시험, 지역적응성 검정시험을 거쳐 개발되었다. ‘밀성’은 소분지이고 3과성, 2실 4방의 꼬투리를 가지고 있다. 그리고 ‘밀성’의 개화기는 7월 1일로 표준품종인 ‘양백’보다 2일 빨랐다. 또한 성숙기는 8월20일로 ‘양백’과 같았다. ‘밀성’의 경장은 129 cm로 ‘양백’과비슷했다. 하지만 ‘밀성’은 ‘양백’보다 많은 27개의 착삭절을가지고 있어 밀삭형이다. ‘밀성’의 천립중은 2.79 g으로 ‘양백’보다 컸다. ‘밀성’의 역병저항성 및 도복저항성은 ‘양백’과비슷했고 ‘밀성’의 수량은 98 kg/10a로 ‘양백’보다 5% 증수하였다. ‘밀성’은 유지함량은 ‘양백’보다 적었으나 단백질함량은 많았다. 지방산 중 올레산의 비율은 45.8%였고 세사민함량은 2.8 mg/g, 세사몰린 함량은 3.0 mg/g이었다.

        “Joongmo2008”, a winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivar was developed by the National Institute of Crop Science, RDA. It is an awned, semi-dwarf and hard winter wheat. The heading and maturing date of “Joongmo2008” were similar to “Keumkang”. Culm and spike length of “Joongmo2008” were 87 cm and 8.6 cm. It had similar test weight (800g/L) and higher 1,000-grain weight (46.7g) than “Keumkang”. It showed resistance to winter hardiness and moderate to pre-harvest sprouting, which lower rate of pre-harvest sprouting (9.8%) than “Keumkang”. “Joongmo2008” had higher flour yield (73.5%) and higher ash content (0.49%) than “Keumkang”. It showed similar lightness (90.01) of flour color than “Keumkang”. It showed higher protein content (16.4%), gluten content (13.4%), SDS-sedimentation volume(59㎖) and mixing time of mixograph than “Keumkang”. “Joongmo2008” had lower amylose contetn (24.5%) and higher viscosity (153BU) than “Keumkang”. It showed same compositions in HMW-GS compositions(5+10) and Puroindolines composition compared to “Keumkang”. “Joongmo2008” showed lower firmness (0.74N) of and higher bread volume of baked pan-bread to “Keumkang”. Average yield of “Joongmo2008” in the regional adaptation yield trial was 4.54 ton/ha in upland and 3.67 ton/ha in paddy field. “Joongmo2008” would be suitable for the area above -10℃ of daily minimum temperature in January in Korean peninsula.

        ‘Morningwhite’ is a new sweetpotato variety developed by Mokpo Experiment Station, National Institute of Crop Science (NICS), RDA in 2007, with white flowering. This variety was selected from the cross between “Sinjami” and “Muan 10” in 2004, seedling and line selections were applied in 2005 and 2006. ‘Morningwhite’ is morning glory type flowers with white color. It has Lobed leaf, green vine and petiole, elliptic storage root, red skin and yellow flesh color of storage root. The average yield of storage root was 14.0 ton/ha. Number of storage roots over 50 gram per plant was 2.5 and the average weight of storage root was 140 gram.

        “Dami”is a new japonica rice variety developed and registered by the rice breeding “Jeokjoong”, a white winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety was developed from the cross “Keumkang”/ “Tapdong”. “Jeokjoong” is an awned, semi-dwarf and soft white winter wheat, similar to “Keumkang” (check variety). The heading and maturing date of “Jeokjoong” were similar to “Keumkang”. Culm and spike length of “Jeokjoong” were 78 cm and 7.5 cm, similar to “Keumkang”. “Jeokjoong” had lower test weight (800 g) and lower 1,000-grain weight (40.1 g) than “Keumkang” (811 g and 44.0 g, respectively). It had resistance to winter hardiness, wet-soil tolerance and lodging tolerance. “Jeokjoong” showed moderate to scab in test of specific character although “Keumkang” is susceptible to scab. “Jeokjoong” had lower flour yield (69.2%) and ash content (0.36%) than “Keumkang” (72.0% and 0.41%, respectively) and similar flour color to “Keumkang”. It showed lower protein content (8.9%) and SDS-sedimentation volume (36.8 ml) and shorter mixograph mixing time (3.5 min) than “Keumkang” (11.0%, 59.7 ml and 4.5 min, respectively). Amylose content and pasting properties of “Jeokjoong” were similar to “Keumkang”. “Jeokjoong” had softer and more elastic texture of cooked noodles than “Keumkang”. Average yield of “Jeokjoong” in the regional adaptation yield trial was 6.19 MT ha-1 in upland and 5.33 MT/ha in paddy field, which was 19% and 16% higher than those of “Keumkang” (5.21 MT/ha and 4.58 MT/ha, respectively). “Jeokjoong” would be suitable for the area above the daily minimum temperature of -10℃ in January in Korean peninsula.team of Honam Agricultural Research Institute, NICS, RDA in 2006. In reaction to biotic stresses, it shows moderately resistance to blast, and resistance to bacterial blight pathogen races from K1 to K3, but susceptible to other major diseases and insect pests. The milled rice of “ami”has high Quality, midium short grain. The milled rice yield of this variety is about 5.92 MT/ha in local adaptability test for three years. “ami”would be adaptable to Middle plain, Honam plain and Youngnam plain area of Korea.

        “aegjoong” a white winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivar was developed by the National Institute of Crop Science, RDA. It was derived from the cross “eumkang”“lgeuru”during 1996. “aegjoong”was evaluated as “ksan307”in Advanced Yield Trial Test in 2004. It was tested in the regional yield trial test between 2005 and 2007. “aegjoong”is an awned, semi-dwarf and soft white winter wheat, similar to “eumkang”(check cultivar). The heading and maturing date of “aegjoong” were similar to “eumkang” Culm and spike length of “aegjoong”were 77 cm and 7.5 cm, similar to “eumkang” “aegjoong”had lower test weight (802 g) and lower 1,000-grain weight (39.8 g) than “eumkang”(811 g and 44.0 g, respectively). It had resistance to winter hardiness, wet-soil tolerance and lodging tolerance. “aegjoong”showed moderate to pre-harvest sprouting (23.9%) although “eumkang”is susceptible to pre-harvest sprouting (38.9%). “aegjoong”had similar flour yield (72.4%) and ash content (0.41%) to “eumkang”(72.0% and 0.41%, respectively) and similar flour color to “eumkang” It showed lower protein content (8.8%) and SDS-sedimentation volume (35.3 ml) and shorter mixograph mixing time (3.8 min) than “eumkang”(11.0%, 59.7 ml and 4.5 min, respectively).
