Metabolic syndrome is a risk factor for cardiovascular and type 2 diabetes. This study was conducted to examine the relevance between nutrition intake, meal quality, and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein in Koreans with metabolic syndrome. The 2,536 subjects, aged 19~64, who participated in 2015 National Nutrition Survey were included in this study. The 24-hour recall method was employed to analyze nutrition intake and dietary quality. Subjects were grouped into either the non-metabolic syndrome group (n=1,938) or the metabolic syndrome group (n=598). Total males and females were divided into 3 groups according to the high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) level to study its relationship to metabolic syndrome and its components, including odds ratio (OR) and confidence interval (CI). Results showed the homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) value was higher in the metabolic syndrome group (3.37) than non-metabolic syndrome group (1.57) (p<0.001). In the Index of Nutrition Quality, males in the non-metabolic syndrome group showed higher niacin (p<0.05) than males in metabolic syndrome group. Females in the non-metabolic syndrome group had higher vitamin B1 (p<0.01), vitamin B2 (p<0.001), niacin (p<0.05), calcium (p<0.001), and phosphate (p<0.01). Female in the high hs-CRP group showed high OR in blood glucose component (OR 2.488, 95% CI: 1.269~4.879) and metabolic syndrome risk (OR 2.856, 95% CI: 1.292~6.314). Females in the middle hs-CRP group had high triglycerides component (OR 2.956, 95% CI: 1.920~4.551), compared to the low hs-CRP group. The study showed females with higher hs-CRP had a higher risk of metabolic syndrome.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between frequency of coffee consumption, metabolic biomarkers, and nutrition intake in adult participants in the combined 2007~2009 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). Subjects (2,095 males and 3,297 females) were classified according to sex and frequency of coffee consumption (≤1 time/month, ≥2 times/month and ≤6 times/week, 1 time/day, 2 times/day, 3 times/day) using food frequency questionnaires. Nutrition intake was analyzed using 24 h recall data. The 3 times/day coffee consumption group had a significantly higher age, and frequency of smokers and drinkers compared to the ≤1 time/month coffee consumption group in both male and female participants. Males in the 3 times/day coffee consumption group had a significantly lower HDL-cholesterol level, but females had a higher waist circumference compared with the ≤1 time/month coffee consumption group. Males in the 3 times/day coffee consumption group had a significantly lower nutrient density of fiber, vitamin B2, vitamin C, calcium and phosphorus compared with the ≤1 time/month coffee intake group. Females in the 3 times/day coffee consumption group had a significantly higher nutrient density of fat and niacin, but lower nutrient density of carbohydrate, calcium, phosphorus, and iron compared with the ≤1 time/month coffee intake group. In males, the frequency of coffee consumption was not associated with the levels of metabolic biomarkers. In females, the frequency of coffee consumption was positively associated with diastolic blood pressure after adjustments for multiple confounding factors, including age, BMI, smoking status, alcohol consumption, physical activity and energy intake. Coffee consumption was associated with decreased diastolic blood pressure in females. These findings suggest the importance of an awareness of the association between coffee consumption and metabolic risk.
본 연구는 급격한 사회변화 속에서 사람들이 행복을 추구하고, 행복에 관심을 가지면서 사회복지실천현장에서도 이에 맞는 프로그램과 서비스 계획을 위한 기초자료를 필요로 하게 되어 2010년 3월 2일부터 12월 5일까지 성인 남녀 600명을 대상으로 일상생활 중 어려움과 행복감 수준을 파악하고자 한다. 본 연구를 통하여 남자보다 여자가 일상생활의 어려움과 행복감 영역 중에서 유의미하게 어려움을 갖고 있었고, 행복감 수준이 낮게 나타났다. 또한 가구소득이 높을수록, 일상생활의 어려움에 대해 심각성이 낮을수록 행복감 수준이 높아지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
목적 : Dynavision을 이용한 성인 남녀의 시각운동 반응 속도를 측정하여 정상인의 표준치를 밝히고, 임상에서 이 도구를 이용한 훈련을 시행할 때 대상자의 성별을 고려하여 적용함을 목표로 실험을 실시하였다.
연구방법 : 대상자는 대학생 62명을 대상으로(남: 31, 여: 31), 나이는 19~27세로, 평균나이는 21.48±2.19세이었다. 국소적인 시각적 주의력과 주변 시각적 주의력 그리고 시지각 전체 영역에서 시각 탐색, 시각반응의 측정 및 훈련하도록 고안된 dynavision의 여러 훈련 프로그램 중 본 연구에서는 self-paced 60초와 240초 프로그램을 사용하였다.
결과 : 남녀 두 그룹간 시각운동 반응 속도에서 유의한 차이를 보였는데, self-paced 60초와 240초 훈련 프로그램 모두에서 남자들이 여자들보다 반응 속도가 빠르게 나타났다(p<0.05).
결론 : Dynavision을 시지각 손상 환자를 평가하고 훈련시킬 때 성별에 따른 정상 수행 속도를 고려하여 적용하여야 할 것이다.
Trunk holding test (Sorensen test) appear to have more value than strength test in prediction the occurrence of low back pain. Electromyographic activity of trunk extensor muscles during these test may provide clues to the etiology of neuromuscular-based low back pain. This study investigated the difference in back muscle endurance between healthy adult men and women using surface electromyographic (EMG) power spectral analysis. Thirty hea1thy subjects (15 men and 15 women) performed an unsupported trunk holding test for 60 seconds. Recording surface electrodes were placed over the erector spinae medially and laterally at vertebral levels of and . Slope of total frequency was evaluated using the MP100WSW Fast Fourier Transform spectrum analysis program. The slopes of all indices of back muscle fatigue, except right , were significantly steeper in men than in women (p<0.05). Our results indicated that the trunk holding test using EMG power spectral analysis of erector spinae muscles is useful for the evaluation of fatigue rate of these muscles. Our results also showed a higher muscle endurance in healthy adult women than in men.
The purpose of this study was to investigate several aspects of eating out behavior especially in relation to Korean food. Self-administered questionnairs were completed by 700 adults living Seoul and Kyunggi-do area from June to July 1994. The results were as follows: 1. The 68.4% of subjects ate outside home either frequently or occasionally. Lunch-eat-out was the most frequent and breakfast-eat-out, the least. Male subjects, adults under the age of 50, and students ate out more frequently. 2. The 70.3% of subjects spent less than 5000 won for the expense of eating out. Those under the age of 25 and students considered reasonable the expenditure of less than 3000 won for lunch and less than 5000 won for supper. But older adults and workers and housewives prefered 3000~5000 won for lunch and 5000~15000 won for supper. 3. Nayngmyun, bibimbap, jajangmyun, pizza, Broiled galbi, and pork cutlet were favorite eat-out dishes. Among Korean foods, bibimbap, Broiled galbi, nayngmyun, bulgogi and galbitang were frequently selected menues. While Korean dishes had a tendency to be selected as a first choice, noodle type dishes and western style fast food were prefered as a second and third choices. 4. Korean food restaurants received highest score in the food taste and familiarity evaluations. They also received good grade in such points as the nutritive value of food, amount of serving portion and the variety of menu. But as for the sanitation and food price, Korean restaurant scored the lower mark in comparison to noodle restaurant and fast food restaurant.
This study was carried out to estimate the daily intake of lead and the relationship among dietary intake, serum level, and urinary excretion of calcium in 30 healthy adults living in rural area of Korea(12 males and 18 females). Analyses for the nutritional status of the subjects were performed by 3-day dietary intake record, duplicated diet collection, 24-hour urine collection, and venous blood sampling. The results were as follows : The mean daily intake of energy was 2, 176.3㎉ and l, 613.9㎉ in males and females of 20∼49years, and l, 914.8㎉ and l, 517.9㎉ in males and females of 50∼59years, respectively. The ratio of carbohydrate: fat: protein was 73.4:13.6:13.0 in males and 76.4:10.3:13.3 in females. The mean daily intake of lead was 277.2㎍ in males and 192.0㎍ in females. The mean daily intake, serum level, and urinary excretion of calcium were 491.1㎎, 8.9㎎/㎗, and 80.7㎎ in males and 426.7㎎, 8.8㎎/㎗, and 80.3㎎ in females, respectively. No significant correlation was found between the daily lead intake and the dietary intake, serum level, and urinary excretion of calcium. It was concluded that the daily lead intake was lower than the acceptable daily lead intake of FAO/WHO but a little higher than that of other investigations. And the daily lead intake was not level that relate to calcium status seriously.
The purpose of this study is to provide useful information which will aid in the promotion of nutritional policy in the Korean rural area which are derived from a survey of intake and source of protein in some Korean rural adults and the correlations between their protein nutrition and various nutrients, the uses of tobacco, alcohol, coffee, etc. The survey was conducted from July, 24 through July, 28, 1989. The healthy subjects were 45 males (average age 42.3, average BMI 22.1㎏/㎡ ) and 55 females (44 years, 21.2㎏/㎡) residing in Sungjoo Kyun, Chulanam-Do, Korea. The subjects were examined for the anthropometric, food intake and food habits. Their daily diets were measured by 24-hr recall method. The results can be summarized as follows The daily mean protein intakes of male and female subjects were 95% of RDA(66.5g)( 16.7% of total food intake per day) and 102.3% of RDA(61g) (14.8% of total intake per day) respectively. The order of sources of animal protein in all subjects was fish(47.9%), meat(29.8%), milk (12%), and egg(10.3%). Among protein sources the intake frequencies of fork and chicken were higher than those of others. The protein nutrition of the subjects showed positive correlations with energy and fat, carbohydrate, fiber at the level of significance of 1%. The protein nutrition of the male subjects showed no correlation with age, BMI, uses of alcohol, coffee, medicine, but the plant protein nutrition showed a positive correlation with smoking and exercies(at 5%). And the protein nutrition of the male subjects showed no correlations with uses of tobacco, alcohol, coffee, medicine and their opinion of their present state of their health, but the age of the male subjects showed negative correlations with milk(at 1%) and egg(at 5%). In conclusion, the daily protein intake was good and the main sources of animal protein were fishes in rural adults. The protein nutrition of the subjects showed a correlation with energy, fat, carbohydrate and in the case of female, milk and egg intakes showed the negative correlation with age.
본 연구는 20대에서 50대의 남여 성인들을 대상으로 단계적 행동변화 모형에서 제안하고 있는 변화과정 특성의 연령대별 차이를 분석하고 이들의 운동행동 변화단계별 차이를 검증하였다. 수도권 소재 838명의 운동참가자와 잠재적 운동 참가자들이 타당도와 신뢰도가 확인된 운동행동 변화단계와 변화과정 특성 설문지에 반응하였으며, 반응 자료들은 연령과 운동 변화단계에 대한 일련의 다변인 분산분석 및 단일 분산분석을 통해 분석되었다. 연구 결과, 성인들의 운동행동 변화에 영향을 미치는 변화과정 특성은 효과공감, 관심증대, 환경재평가, 자기재평가, 자극조절, 도움주기, 강화관리의 7개 전략이 도출되었으며, 이들 전략들은 성과 연령대 및 운동행동 변화단계에 따라 다차원적 차이가 발견되었다. 이러한 결과는 단계적 행동변화 모형의 문화적 타당성과 실제적 적용 관점에서 논의하였다.
