        This study aimed to establish a marker compound in roasted Astragalus membranaceus (AM) water extract and to validate its analytical methods. The roasting process significantly enhanced the isoflavone content in AM. Among the four isoflavones analyzed, calycosin 7-glucoside (C7G) emerged as the most abundant, with a concentration of 847.88 μg/g in the AM extract. Due to its concentration and representativeness, C7G was designated as the marker compound, and its analytical method was thoroughly validated. Specificity was confirmed by the consistent retention time of the C7G peak at 15.2 minutes across both the sample and the standard compound. High absorbance was recorded at UV wavelengths of 220, 250, and 260 nm. The method exhibited excellent linearity, with a correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.9999 across a concentration range of 0.2 to 50.0 μg/mL. The limits of detection and quantification were determined to be 0.029 μg/mL and 0.088 μg/mL, respectively. Precision assessments revealed intra-day and inter-day variations of 0.812% and 1.650%, respectively. Recovery tests yielded values ranging from 99.419% to 104.861%, with relative standard deviations between 1.152% and 2.215%. These results affirm that the analytical method for C7G is highly specific, linear, accurate, and precise. This validated method may serve as a valuable tool for the standardization of roasted AM water extract.

        Microalgae are efficient fatty acid producers owing to their high photosynthetic activities. They can act as sources of biofuel, feed, and various bioactive compounds. This study aimed to determine optimal culture conditions, including culture medium, temperature, and light intensity, to enhance the biomass and fatty acid content of the indigenous freshwater microalga, Tetradesmus obliquus. Evaluation using a high-throughput photobioreactor revealed that the optimal culture temperature and light intensity were 25°C and 300 μmol m-2 s-1, respectively. Additionally, we optimized components (N, P, and Mg) of the BG-11 medium to enhance the microalgal biomass. Modified BG-11 medium increased the T. obliquus biomass by 37% compared to the standard BG-11 medium. Subsequently, the culture medium was replaced with N- and P-depleted media to determine the abiotic stress factor that could increase the cellular fatty acid content. Notably, fatty acid content was significantly increased from 8.5% up to 14.6% on day 7 of culture in N-deficient (N-P+ and N-P-) media. Sequential optimization effectively increased the biomass by 83% and fatty acid content by >76% in T. obliquus. Our optimization method can be used to enhance the biomass and fatty acid contents of various other microalgae.

        Purpose: This study explored emergency nurses’ perception of and experiences with infection control in the emergency department (ED). Methods: This qualitative study employed focus group interviews and conventional content analysis. The participants were 19 nurses working in the ED of three general hospitals in the metropolitan area, and the data collection period was from July 1, 2024, to August 30, 2024. Four focus group interviews were conducted with each group consisting of 4~5 participants. Interviews were conducted for approximately 80 minutes per group. The interviews were audio-recorded and transcribed verbatim immediately afterward. Data were analyzed using conventional content analysis. Results: A total of 167 meaningful statements were extracted from the interviews. Five main themes and 15 subthemes were identified through interview analysis. 1) Limited information with “Limited information at the entrance of the ED” and “Challenges in sharing information”; 2) The gap between guidelines and reality with “Difficulty in adhering to guidelines due to a shortage of isolation rooms”, “Underestimating protective isolation”, “Skepticism due to practical limitations” and, “The need for infection control guidelines to fit ED circumstances”; 3) Application of guidelines that deviated from the principles with “Different nursing practice based on visual judgment”, “Guidelines that were overlooked in emergency situations” and, “Justifying the avoidance of tedious work by claiming to help prevent infection”; 4) Insensitivity to infection with “Performing only pretended infection control”, “Overlooking the importance of protective equipment”, and “Being became insensitive to infection”; and 5) The need to strengthen the organizational culture of infection control with “Interpreting the same guideline differently by individuals”, “The need for support from senior nurses to comply with the guidelines”, and “The need for practical training that reflects the reality of the ED”. Conclusion: ED nurses faced challenges in complying with infection control guidelines in the ED. These challenges were attributed to a combination of physical, structural, and personal factors. A unique feature of this study is its emphasis on the organizational culture of infection control. To improve compliance with infection control guidelines among emergency nurses, it is imperative to improve their physical and structural environment and provide regular practical training. This approach aims to foster an organizational culture that places a strong emphasis on infection control.

        In various machines used in industrial sites and transportation equipment, fastening structures of bolts and nuts are widely employed. However, conventional Steel sockets, classified as non-explosion-proof materials, have a high likelihood of generating sparks due to friction with components, which can lead to explosions or large-scale fires. To address this issue, this study developed a lightweight explosion-protection socket using AL-7075-T6 aluminum alloy, which is known for its excellent explosion-proof properties. However, due to the inherent characteristics of aluminum, it has lower rigidity compared to Steel, requiring the use of more expensive alloy materials. Therefore, our research team utilized Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm (MOGA) to optimize the mass and safety factor of the socket, proposing a design that simultaneously achieves both weight reduction and structural stability. The socket developed in this study is approximately 30% lighter than traditional Steel-based sockets while maintaining a safety factor of 1.2 or higher, significantly enhancing operational safety in explosive environments. This research sets a new standard in the design and manufacturing process of explosion-proof sockets and is expected to contribute to the optimization of various explosion-proof equipment in the future.

        Biodiversity encompasses species diversity, which includes species richness and species evenness. High species diversity is known to contribute to community stability and the potential for maintaining healthy ecosystem functioning. However, the most commonly used species diversity indices have some limitations, as they require species-specific abundance data for each community. In contrast, phylogenetic diversity measures the evolutionary distances between species within a community, reflecting ecological and/or evolutionary divergences and niche differences, without requiring abundance data. This study assessed biodiversity by calculating phylogenetic diversity indices for freshwater fishes (19 species) and aquatic insects (49 species) at three sites within Seoraksan and Odaesan National Parks. The aquatic insects studied belong to the EPT group (Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, and Trichoptera), which are widely used as bioindicators of aquatic ecosystems. Two mitochondrial DNA genes were used as molecular markers: COI and cyt b for fish, and COI and 16S rRNA for the EPT - group. Overall, Odaesan National Park exhibited higher phylogenetic diversity in both fishes and aquatic insects compared to Seoraksan National Park, although this difference was not statistically significant. The highest phylogenetic and species diversity were observed for fish at the OD2 site (Woljeong District) and for the EPT group at the OD1 (Gyebangsan) and SA2 (Jangsudae) sites. Correlation analysis revealed that phylogenetic diversity indices were more positively associated with species richness than species diversity indices. This study serves as a pilot project for establishing standardized methods for assessing biodiversity in national park habitats using phylogenetic diversity. It also aims to inform various policies, such as the development of biodiversity assessment systems and the prioritization of protected areas within national parks.

        To utilize textured vegetable protein (TVP) instead of meat in kimchi stew, TVP of different sizes were added to kimchi stew under different cooking conditions. Canned Kimchi stew was prepared by adding processed TVP. Physicochemical quality characteristics and antioxidant activities of the broth, kimchi, and meat (or TVP) were measured. The pH and salinity did not show a significant difference between treatment groups in the broth or kimchi. However, the TVP treatment group showed higher pH and lower salinity than the control group. There was no significant difference in color between control group and TVP-treated groups. In terms of texture, the control group had the lowest hardness, gumminess, and chewiness, followed by TVP-1 and TVP-2 manufactured after pre-cooking, which showed lower hardness, gumminess, and chewiness. The smaller the size of the TVP, the lower the hardness, gumminess, and chewiness. Results of shear force were consistent with those of hardness. Contents of flavonoid and polyphenol compounds as antioxidant components did not increase or decrease with the addition of TVP. There were no significant differences in antioxidant activities among experimental groups.

        To utilize textured vegetable protein (TVP) in food manufacturing, TVP was soaked in salt solutions of different concentrations. Physicochemical quality characteristics of TVP were then measured. When TVP was soaked in a salt solution, the pH tended to increase compared to the control. However, the pH decreased after 18 hours of soaking. The salinity of the control decreased slightly from the initial value depending on the soaking time. The group treated with salt solution showed higher salinity than the control. Water absorption capacity of the control increased as the soaking time increased. However, water absorption capacity of the group treated with salt solution decreased as the concentration of salt solution increased. Lightness of the group treated with salt solution showed less change than the control during soaking. The redness increased as the concentration of salt solution increased. The yellowness increased compared to the control during soaking. Hardness, gumminess, and chewiness of the control decreased during soaking in water. The group treated with salt solution showed significantly higher hardness, gumminess, and chewiness as the concentration of the salt solution increased. However, adhesiveness, elasticity, and cohesiveness generally did not show significant differences among samples.

        2019년부터 2023년까지 서울지역에 유통되는 식약공용 농·임산물 60품목 1,340건을 대상으로 ICP-MS와 수은분 석기, 모니어-월리엄스 변법을 사용하여 중금속(납, 카드 뮴, 비소, 수은) 및 이산화황의 함량을 조사하고 위해성 평 가를 수행하였다. 중금속의 평균 검출량 및 범위는 납 0.327 mg/kg (ND-36.933), 카드뮴 0.083 mg/kg (ND-1.700), 비소 0.075 mg/kg (ND-2.200), 수은 0.004 mg/kg (ND- 0.047)으로 나타났다. 품목별은 2023년에 복령 1건에서 납 이 36.933 mg/kg으로 기준을 초과하였고 카드뮴은 2022년 에 구절초 2건이 각각 1.700 mg/kg, 0.650 mg/kg으로 기준 를 초과하였다. 나머지 품목은 모두 허용기준 이내였다. 이 산화황의 평균 검출량 및 범위는 0.75 mg/kg (ND-192.00)이 였으며, 2019년에 천마 2건에서 각각 192.00 mg/kg과 42.00 mg/kg으로 기준치을 초과하였다. 약용부위별 중금속 평균 검출량은 납은 버섯류(1.377 mg/kg), 카드뮴은 수·근피 류(0.156 mg/kg)와 등목류(0.144 mg/kg), 비소는 엽류 (0.149 mg/kg), 수은은 전초류(0.009 mg/kg), 엽류(0.009 mg/ kg)에서 높게 검출되었다. 이산화황 평균 검출량은 근경류 (4.12 mg/kg)에서 높게 검출되었다. 원산지별로 중금속 및 이산화황 함량을 비교한 결과, 납, 카드뮴 및 수은은 국내 산, 중국산, 중국 외 수입산 간에 차이는 없었으나, 비소 와 이산화황은 중국산이 국내산과 중국 외 수입산보다 높 게 검출되었다. 위해성 평가 결과, 납은 대부분의 품목에 서 노출안전역(MOE)값이 1보다 커서 인체 위해성이 낮았 지만, 복령에서 MOE 값이0.66으로 1보다 낮아 위해성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 카드뮴, 비소 및 수은의 위해도(HI) 는 각각 0.2740-1.0702%, 0.0049-0.0335% 및 0.0041- 0.0287%로 매우 낮은 수준으로 평가되었다. 이산화황의 위해도(HI)는 모든 품목에서1을 초과하지 않아 안전한 수 준이었다. 앞으로도, 식약공용 농·임산물의 안전성에 대한 지속적인 관심과 모니터링이 필요하다.

        Purpose: This study explored teachers’ experiences of practicing character education focusing on Juingonggwanbeop in elementary schools. The goal was to provide universal Juingong-gwanbeop character education programs for schools. Methods: This study used one-on-one in-depth interviews to collect data from teachers working at different elementary schools regarding their character education experiences. The collected data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results: 5 themes and 16 sub-themes were derived from the analysis. The five themes included “Starting Juingong-gwanbeop character education for various reasons”, “Feeling joy when seeing students changing through Juingong-gwanbeop character education”, “Difficulties in managing Juingong-gwanbeop character education”, “Development and dissemination of standardized Juingong-gwanbeop character education programs”. Conclusion: The findings showed that both students and teachers experienced positive changes and growth in their school lives through Juingong-gwanbeop character education. The participants expressed a strong desire to develop universal programs and materials for teachers who have not been exposed to Juingong-gwanbeop.

        빅데이터 고객차별의 본질적인 문제는 플랫폼에 의한 사용자 정보의 과도한 수집 과 알고리즘을 부당하게 사용하여 소비자에게 차별화된 가격 전략을 구현하는 것이 다. 이것은 소비자의 합법적인 권익 침해 문제와 관련이 있다. 중국 정부는 소비자의 개인 정보 보호와 플랫폼 업체의 차별화된 가격 책정 금지 전략을 중심으로 관련 법 규를 제정했다. 하지만 2024년 5월 현재까지 빅데이터 고객차별에 대한 관련 행정처 벌 사례가 없고 소송으로 소비자가 승소한 사례도 없다. 따라서 현행법은 실제 실천 에 있어 많은 문제점이 있다. 본 연구는 소비자 정보 보호 및 빅데이터 고객차별과 관련된 현행 법률 및 규정의 단점을 분석하고 법적 수준에서 빅데이터 고객차별을 효과적으로 규제하기 위한 관련 정책 방안을 제안하였다.

        제3차 도서관발전종합계획(2019-2023)에 따라 공공도서관 확충이 진행되는 시점에서, 현재의 공공도서관 공급이 각 지역민 의 공평한 접근성을 고려하여 설립되고 있는지 분석할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 전국의 공공도서관 분포를 바탕으로 도서관의 서비스 영향 범위를 분석하여, 거리 접근성 관점에서 공공도서관의 서비스 현황을 분석하고자 한다. 이에 2015년과 2022년의 도서관 정보와 격자 기반의 인구수를 중첩하여, 공공도서관의 서비스 비율을 도출하였다. 도출 결과는 공공도서관 전체와 교육청을 분리하여 시각화하였으며, 이를 통해 영향권에 따른 시기별 추이 변화를 확인할 수 있다. 이를 바탕으로 공공도서관 접근성 강화와 도서관 서비스 활성화 방안을 제시하였다. 또한 분석 결과로 도출된 지도는 향후 공공도서관 건립 또는 정책 마련 시에 근거자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

        In ecosystems within limited resources, interspecific competition is inevitable, often leading to the competitive exclusion of inferior species. This study aims to provide foundational information for the conservation and restoration management of Microphysogobio rapidus by evaluating species’ ecological response to biological factors within its habitat. To understand this relationship, we collected food web organisms from site where M. rapidus coexist with Microphysogobio yaluensis, a specie ecologically similar to M. rapidus, and evaluated the trophic levels (TL), isotopic niche space (INS), and the overlap of INS among fishes within the habitat using stable isotope analysis. Our analysis revealed that the M. rapidus exhibited a higher TL than M. yaluensis, with TL of 2.6 and 2.4, respectively. M. yaluensis exhibited a broad INS, significantly influencing the feeding characteristics of most fish. Conversely, M. rapidus showed a narrow INS and asymmetric feeding relationships with other species, in habitats with high competition levels. This feeding characteristics of M. rapidus indicate that the increase in competitors sharing the similar resources lead to a decrease in available resources and, consequently, is expected to result in a decrease in their density.

        Purpose: This study aimed to identify and describe the experiences of new nurses trained by clinical nursing educators. Methods: Data were collected through focus groups and in-depth interviews conducted between July 27 and August 12, 2021. The collected data was qualitatively analyzed through content analysis. Results: Six themes and 19 subthemes emerged. The themes included: “Worried about not adjusting to work”, “Not feeling at ease with the preceptor”, “Experiencing the benefits of working with the clinical nurse educator”, “Getting practical support from the clinical nurse educator”, “Receiving mental and emotional support from the clinical nurse educator”, and “Appreciating successful adjustment”. Conclusion: This study confirmed the importance of the educator’s role in helping new nurses adjust to the workplace and develop competence.

        We conducted an on-site application study at the livestock cooperative fertilizer plant to compare the composting period, temperature change, moisture content, and chemical properties between livestock manure compost using sawdust as a moisture regulator with those using spent oyster mushroom substrate. The composting period, moisture content, and fertilizer composition of compost containing spent oyster mushroom substrate did not differ from that of conventional compost mixed with sawdust after the first and second fermentation and post-maturation stages, it was suitable as a material for manufacturing livestock manure compost. The spent oyster mushroom substrate also lower the production cost of livestock manure compost by replacing the more expensive sawdust. The developed technology is expected to contribute towards the utilization of by-products of the oyster mushroom harvest while simultaneously producing high quality livestock manure compost.

        본 연구는 전라북도 남원시, 장수군과 경상남도 함양군의 경계에 위치한 백두대간 봉화산의 관속식물상을 파악하여, 생물다 양성 보존 및 외래식물의 확산 방지를 위한 기초자료로 활용하기 위하여 조사를 실시하였다. 국립수목원 산림생물표본관에 소장된 봉화산 표본 검토와 함께, 2020년 4월부터 2023년 7월까지 총 15회에 걸쳐 현지조사를 수행하였다. 그 결과, 본 조사 지역의 관속식물은 97과 279속 409종 16아종 32변종 9품종의 총 466분류군으로 조사되었다. 이 중 특산식물은 8분류군, 적색목록 중 취약(VU)에 속하는 종은 1분류군으로 확인되었다. 식물구계학적 특정식물종은 총 57분류군으로 Ⅴ등급에 1분류 군, Ⅲ등급에 9분류군, Ⅱ등급에 14분류군, Ⅰ등급에 33분류군이 각각 발견되었으며, 외래식물은 24분류군, 그리고 생태계교 란야생종은 1분류군이었다. 분류군의 유용성 조사에서 식용 353분류군, 섬유용 3분류군, 약용 71분류군, 관상용 21분류군, 목초용 108분류군, 공업용 2분류군, 잡용 7분류군, 용재용 11분류군으로 나타났다.

        The consumption of ready-to-eat side dishes is rapidly growing in South Korea. These foods are particularly vulnerable to microbiological contamination as they are often cooked without any treatment, such as heating or stored at room temperature after cooking. Hence, in 2022, we analyzed the ready-to-eat side dishes sold in Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea for microbiological contamination. We collected 100 samples from supermarkets in 7 cities, and then examined them for presence of food-borne pathogens and sanitary indicator bacteria. In the analysis of the food-borne pathogens, Bacillus cereus and Clostridium perfringens were isolated from 51 samples (51.0%) and 3 samples (3.0%), respectively. However, both quantitatively met the Korean Food Standards Codex. Genes of five different enterotoxins and one emetic toxin were analyzed from the 51 isolated B. cereus strains. We detected enterotoxin entFM (100.0%), nheA (94.1%), hblC (58.8%), cytK (56.9%), and bceT (41.2%) in 51 isolates, and emetic toxin gene, CER, in only one (2.0%) isolate. We did not detect C. perfringens toxin gene (cpe) that causes food poisoning in any one of the three C. perfringens isolates. In the case of sanitary indicator bacteria, Kimchi had the highest levels of total aerobic bacteria and coliforms, followed by Saengchae, Jeotgal, Jeolim, Namul, and Jorim, respectively. We counted total aerobic bacteria at two different storage temperatures (4oC and 20oC) to determine the effect of storage temperature. When stored at 20oC, total aerobic bacteria count increased in most of the ready-to-eat side dishes, except for Jeotgal. This result conclusively shows the need for refrigerating the ready-to-eat side dishes after purchase. Further research is needed to assess the risk and safety of the ready-to-eat side dishes available in the market and determine appropriate safety management practices.

        본 연구는 산림에 대한 보건학적 가치 제고를 위하여 기초적 자료를 제공하기 위해 대학생 20명을 대상으로 난대림과 도시의 경관 감상에 따른 생리・심리에 미치는 변화를 파악하고자 수행하였다. 주요 결과는 첫째, 알파파(RA, RFA, RSA)를 측정한 결과, 좌측 후두엽(O1)이 도시경관보 다 난대림 경관을 감상할 때 더 활성화되었다. 둘째, 베타파(RB, RLB, RMB, RHB)를 측정한 결과, 통계적으로 유의미하지 않았다. 셋째, SEF50과 SEF90은 도시경관보다 난대림 경관을 감상하는 것이 더 안정・이완된 상태임을 나타냈지만 SEF90의 전두엽(Fz)을 제외하고는 유의미하지 않았다. 넷째, 기분상태검사(K-POMS-B)를 수행한 결과, 난대림 경관 감상은 긴장, 혼돈, 피로의 부정적인 기분상태는 감소하였고, 긍정적인 기분상태 요인인 활기는 증가하여 종합기분장애 점수는 도시(0.95±10.860)에 비해 난대림(-5.45±5.463)에서 감소하는 유의미한 결과를 확인하였다.

        편백나무(Chamaecyparis obtusa)는 측백나무과에 속하며 우리나라 남쪽 지역에서 주로 잘 자 생한다. 편백나무의 목재는 재질이 우수하여 가구로서의 활용이 높으며 남은 목재, 가지, 잎은 정유 추출에 사용되고 있다. 편백 정유는 항염, 향균, 탈취, 진정 효능이 탁월한 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 편백나무의 잎에서 추출한 오일이 주름 개선, 피부 장벽 및 보습능에 미치는 영향을 평가하고자 하였다. 먼 저, DPPH assay와 ABTS assay를 통해 항산화 활성을 평가한 결과, 편백 오일은 두 가지 라디칼을 농도 의존적으로 유의하게 소거하였다. 그리고 주름 생성 억제 효능 평가를 위해 elastase 활성을 측정한 결과, 편백 오일은 elastase 활성을 직접적으로 억제시킴을 확인하였다. 다음으로는 real-time PCR을 통해 유전 자 발현을 확인한 결과, 편백 오일은 인간섬유아세포에서 MMP-1 유전자 발현을 유의하게 감소시켰다. 또 한, 편백 오일에 의해 각질형성세포에서 filaggrin과 HAS-2 유전자 발현이 유의하게 증가함을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과를 종합해보면, 편백 오일은 주름 개선과 피부 장벽 및 보습능 강화에 도움을 주어 항노화 화장 품의 기능성 원료로서 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
