This study examined differences in breakfast habits, mental health, and the prevalence of allergic diseases among 9,549 adolescents from father-headed and mother-headed families, using raw data from the 2017~2019 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-Based Survey. Of the total participants, 44.6% came from father-headed families, while 55.4% were from mother-headed families. Single-parent adolescents showed the highest likelihood of eating breakfast every day of the week (24.5%), but they also had a significant tendency to skip breakfast entirely (24.3%). There was no significant difference in breakfast frequency between those from father-headed and mother-headed families. The perception of stress and subjective health status did not differ significantly between adolescents from the two types of families, although subjective health status did show significant differences among boys. Depressive experiences were notably higher in adolescents from mother-headed families (33.0%) compared to those from father-headed families (30.8%). Additionally, the prevalence of atopic dermatitis and allergic rhinitis was significantly greater in adolescents from mother-headed families (24.2% and 32.1%, respectively) than in those from father-headed families (21.1% and 26.5%, respectively). These results indicate the need for tailored nutrition and health guidance programs for adolescents from single-parent families to support the role of the absent parent.
황해 식물플랑크톤의 계절별 군집 구조와 해양환경 요인과의 상관관계를 파악하기 위하여 2019년 계절별로 15개 정점에 대해 조사하였다. 동계와 춘계에는 규조류가 높은 출현율을 나타내었으며, 하계와 추계에는 20μm 이하의 미동정 미소편모조류가 높은 출현율 을 나타내었다. 이는 낮은 농도의 영양염류로 인한 것으로, 특히 인산염의 경우 검출 한계까지 낮게 나타남에 따라 식물플랑크톤 성장에 심각한 저해 현상을 가져온 것으로 판단된다. 성층이 강화되는 하계와 추계 표층 혼합층에서 초미소형 크기의 식물플랑크톤 기여도가 높 았으며, 중복분석 결과 초미소형 크기의 식물플랑크톤은 영양염(질산염, 인산염) 및 수심에 대해 강한 음의 상관성을 나타내고 있었다. 결 론적으로 하계와 추계 성층 강화로 인한 표층 혼합층 내에서의 영양염 감소는 영양염류의 요구량이 낮은 상대적으로 크기가 작은 식물플 랑크톤 성장에 유리한 환경을 제공하며, 식물플랑크톤 군집 구조는 소형화가 진행된 것으로 판단된다.
본 논문은 2019년부터 2023년 사이에 있었던 칠레 헌법제정 과정을 국민참여의 관점에서 분석하였다. 칠레 사회는 2019년 사회적 대폭발을 계기로 헌법을 새로 쓰는 데 합의하였다. 헌법상 기본권 보장을 목표로 헌법제정을 시도하였으나, 두 번의 시도 모두 부결되었다. 남녀동수 제헌 의회 구성, 원주민 대표성 강화, 시민참여 메커니즘 제도화 등 헌법제정 의 절차적 민주성이 높았다. 그러나 정당을 배제한 제헌의회를 구성함으 로써 제헌의원의 전문성이 떨어지고 국민들과의 목표가 불일치하여 국민 들의 요구를 헌법안에 담아내지 못했다는 비판을 받았다. 정당대표성과 제정기관의 전문성을 강화하여 2차 시도를 하였으나 헌법에 인간존엄성 을 담아내지 못했다. 헌법안 작성 기간이 너무 짧았고, 국민의 보편적 요 구와 거리가 먼 보수정당의 가치가 지나치게 반영되었기 때문이다. 또한 짧은 작성 기간과 헌법안 채택 방식은 숙의·심의보다는 속도있는 표결을 강조했다. 그러므로 모든 중요한 정치권력들이 헌법제정 과정에 균형있 게 참여하여 숙의·심의할 수 있는 제도적 보완 방안을 모색해야 할 것이 다.
Considering that the number of middle-aged single-person households is increasing, this study investigates dietary behaviors, nutrient intake, and mental health according to household type. Data were procured from the 2015-2019 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). Totally, 5,466 participants aged 50-64 years were classified into 2 groups: a household with one member was defined as a single-person household, and households with two or more members were described as multi-person households. Single-person households comprised 10.63% of the total, with a higher average age, and lower income and economic levels than multi-person households. Compared to multiperson households, single-person households had a higher frequency of skipping breakfast, eating alone, and dining out, the moderately and severely food insecure group was more than 5 times, and nutrient intake and dietary quality were poorer. In the fully adjusted model, the odds ratios (ORs) of depressive symptoms were 2.35 times (95% CI: 1.39-3.96), and suicide ideation was 1.95 times (95% CI: 1.35-2.82) in single-person compared to multi-person households. Our results lead us to conclude that poor dietary intake in middle-aged single-person households affects the mental health, and the above factors should be considered when framing the dietary policy.
This study examined the determinants of healthy food purchases before and after COVID-19 in Korea. Binomial and multinomial logistic regression models were applied to Korea Rural Economic Institute's Food Consumer Behavior Survey data from 2019 to 2021. The analysis revealed a significant decrease in the non-intake of healthy food in 2021 compared to 2019, suggesting the impact of COVID-19 on healthy food consumption. Consumption patterns also changed, with a decrease in direct purchases and an increase in gift-based purchases. Several variables showed significant effects on healthy food intake. Single-person households exhibited a higher probability of eating healthy food after COVID-19. The group perceiving themselves as healthy had a lower likelihood of consuming healthy food pre-COVID-19, but this changed after the pandemic. Online food purchases, eco-friendly food purchases, and nut consumption showed a gradual decrease in the probability of non-intake over time. Gender and age also influenced healthy food intake. The probability of eating healthy food increased in the older age group compared to the younger group, and the probability increased significantly after COVID-19. The probability of buying gifts was significantly higher in those in their 60s, indicating that the path to obtaining healthy food differed by age.
In this study, we aimed to explore whether eating alone is associated with mental health conditions in Korean adolescents. The data of 2,012 Korean adolescents aged 12-18 years were obtained from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2015–2019. Participants were classified into three groups based on the frequency of eating alone: none (all meals with others); 1 meal/day alone; and 2 meals/day alone. Mental health conditions were assessed based on stress recognition, depressive symptoms, and suicidal ideation. Multivariable logistic regressions were employed to calculate the adjusted odds ratios (AORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of poor mental health conditions according to the frequency of eating alone. Adolescents who ate 2 meals/day alone had higher odds of stress recognition (AOR: 2.65, 95% CI: 1.94- 3.63), depressive symptoms (AOR: 2.55, 95% CI: 1.47-4.42), and suicidal ideation (AOR: 2.53, 95% CI: 1.05-6.08) than those who ate all their meals with others. In addition, having breakfast or dinner alone increased the odds of stress recognition. Considering the continuous increase in the social phenomenon of eating alone, nutritional educations are needed to develop adolescents' ability to choose more nutritionally balanced and healthy meals when eating alone.
This study investigated the association between dietary intake and 10-year risk for CHD predicted from Framingham risk score in Korean adults using the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2019-2020. Eight thousand subjects (3,382 men and 4,618 women) aged 30 years or older were classified into three groups according to the 10-year CHD risk (%). The sociodemographics, anthropometrics indices, blood profiles, and dietary intake were collected. After adjusting for confounding variables, the mean adequacy ratio (MAR) decreased for both men and women as the disease risk increased. The high–risk group was below the MAR criteria, indicating that the overall quality of the meal was not good. The highest consumers of legumes (OR 0.56, 95% CI 0.37-0.84), fruits (OR 0.67, 95% CI 0.48-0.93), and fish (OR 0.60, 95% CI 0.42-0.87) had a 44%, 33%, and 40% lower 10-year CHD risk than lowest consumers in men, respectively. In women, there is no significant relationship between food groups and disease risk. Therefore, improving lifestyle habits such as weight control, increased activity, and adequate food intake, especially legumes, fruits, and fish rich in antioxidant nutrients and bioactive substances, appears to have a potential association with preventing coronary heart disease in Korean adults.
우리나라에서 소비자라는 용어가 최초로 사용된 시점을 정확히 파악하기는 어렵지만 과거 신문기사를 통해 1800년대 후반에 이미 사용하였음을 알 수 있다. 본 연구는 소비자 관련 키워드의 트렌드를 분석하고 자 100년간의 신문기사를 수집하여 텍스트마이닝 분석을 수행하였다. 연대별로 소비자 관련 이슈가 무엇 이었고 어떤 사건과 연관성을 갖는지 실증적으로 탐구하는데 초점을 두었다. 분석 대상은 1920년부터 2019년까지 신문기사에 등장한 소비자 관련 기사 31,085건이며 분석 방법으로는 빈도분석과 네트워크분 석을 사용하였다. 분석 결과, 연대별로 최빈 단어 결과에서 차이가 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 이는 연대별 시대상 황과 그에 따른 소비자 관련 이슈가 연관되어 있기 때문인 것으로 판단된다. 다음으로 연대별 최빈 단어 결과를 바탕으로 소비자 개념의 변화 시기를 구분하였다. 본 연구는 100년이라는 기간 동안의 기사를 대상으로 분석함으로써 소비자 관련 키워드와 우리나라 근현대사의 역사적 사건들과 연관성을 파악하였 다는 데에 의의가 있다.
Unhealthy dietary behavior such as insufficient calcium intake can be one of risk factors of osteoporosis and chronic diseases in older people. This study evaluated the recent trends in dietary calcium intake and the food source in Korean adults aged 50 years or older using the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES, 2015-2019) data. This study used 24-hour recall survey data to investigate the calcium intake, the major food groups and main dishes contributing to the calcium intake. The mean calcium intake was 479.55-506.81 mg/day. The major food groups that contribute to calcium intake were vegetables, milks and fishes. Dairy and frozen desserts and kimchi were the major dish groups that contributed to the calcium intake. Calcium intake from milk in dairy and frozen dessert group has been high in last 5 years (50-64 years old: 34.71-47.68 mg, 65-74 years old: 29.72-43.65 mg, over 75 years old: 22.91-42.93 mg). In addition, baechu-kimchi is the most contributed to the calcium intake in kimchi group (50-64 years old: 35.10-41.47 mg, 65-74 years old: 29.62-34.96 mg, over 75 years old: 23.79-29.13 mg). In conclusion, various source of calcium needs to be recommended to increase intake calcium in over 50 years, which may reduce chronic diseases and improve quality of life.
This study examined the nutrient intake of Korean adults by considering the lunch type, categorized as home meals (HM), eating out (EO), and institutional meals (IM). Data was obtained from the 2019 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). Totally, 3,786 adults (1,643 men, and 2,143 women) aged between 19-64 years were included in the study. Subjects with daily energy intake of less than 500 kcal or over 5,000 kcal, and those who skipped lunch, were excluded. The percentage of subjects in the HM, EO, and IM were 31.9, 53.6, and 14.4%, respectively. The daily energy intakes of the HM, EO, and IM groups were determined to be 2,185, 2,360, and 2,339 kcal, respectively, in men, and 1,622, 1,731, and 1,741 kcal, respectively, in women. Among the three groups, men in the EO group had more intake of fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, sodium, and riboflavin, and less dietary fiber, and whereas women consumed more fat and less dietary fiber and potassium. In the IM group, the men consumed more dietary fiber, potassium, and thiamine, whereas consumption of carbohydrate, unsaturated fatty acid, sodium, potassium, and thiamine was more in women. Energy contributions of carbohydrate, protein, and fat were all within the AMDR (acceptable macronutrient distribution ranges) for all lunch types, except for the percent of energy provided from saturated fat in EO (7.4% in men, and 8.2% in women). Our results indicate that the dietary habit of frequently eating out increases the fat intake, thereby resulting in increased health risks for adults. Thus, implementation of a nutritional education program to encourage balanced dietary habits is required to improve the nutritional status of individuals eating out.
Due to the global climate change, Korean peninsula is has been experiencing flooding and drought severely. It is hard difficult to manage water resources sustainably, because due to intensive precipitation in short periods and severe drought has increased in Korea. Reused water from the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) could be a sustainable and an alternative water source near the urban areas. In order to understand the patterns of water reuse in Korea, annual water reuses data according to the times and regional governments were investigated from 2008 to 2019. The reused water from WWTP in Korea has been mainly used for river maintenance flow and industrial use, while agricultural use of water reuse has decreased with time. Metropolitan cities in Korea such as Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Ulsan, and Incheon have been mainly used reused reusing water for river maintenance flow. Industrial water reuse has been limitedly applied recently for the planned industrial districts in Pohang, Gumi, Paju, and Asan. By using the collected annual water reuse data from the domestic sewerage statistics of sewerage, the optimistic and pessimistic future estimations of for future annual water reuse were suggested from 2020 to 2040 on a five year interval for every five years.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the structure, status and economic ripple effects of the fisheries processing industry in Korea using interindustry analysis. Five input-output tables published over the past twenty years have been reclassified with a focus on the fisheries processing sector. Through these multi-period tables, we analyzed changes in the inducing effects in production, value added and employment as well as the backward-forward linkage effects. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the industrial scale of the fisheries processing industry is very small compared to other food manufacturing industries. The backward linkage effect of the fisheries processing industry was greater than that of other industries, but the forward linkage effect was rather low. This means that the fisheries processing industry can be greatly affected by industrial depression of the downstream industries such as fishery and aquaculture. Production and employment-inducing effects of the fisheries processing industry have shown a decreasing trend in recent years. This reflects the reality that intermediate inputs are gradually being replaced by imports from domestic production due to the expansion of market opening and the depletion of fishery resource. In the future, it is necessary to prepare a strategy to increase the value-added productivity of the fisheries processing sector and foster it as an export industry.
In this study, data from the 7th (2016~2018) and 8th (2019) Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys were used, which included 5,325 subjects. Health behavior, dietary and nutrient intake status, physical measurement and biochemical characteristics, and risk factors for elderly related chronic diseases were classified and analyzed according to the changing composition of single households and other households in the current society. As a result, the ratio of current smokers and drinkers in young adult single households, walking less than 30 minutes per day, subjective health status was poor, breakfast rate less than three times per week, eating out frequency more than once a day, lipid intake ratio to total calories, saturation fatty acid intake were significantly higher. In addition, waist circumference, and diastolic blood pressure were significantly higher. However, dietary fiber intake level was significantly lower. The results for hypertension, which is the representative chronic disease that causes old age-related chronic diseases, were significantly higher in single households (ORs=1.400 (95% CI: 1.095, 1.791), p=0.007). Although young adults may not have showed particularly serious health problems yet, education is believed as important to recognize and prevent age-related disease risk factors.
화상병균(Erwinia amylovora)에 의해 발생하는 과수 화상병은 주로 사과, 배 등의 장미과 식물에서 발병한다. 과수 화상병은 국내에서 금지 병원균으로 지정되어 있으며, 2015년 경기도 안성의 배과수원에서 최초 발견되었다. 그러나, 현재까지 근본적인 방제약제가 없는 상황으로 발생지는 매몰이 최선의 방법으로 여겨진다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 2019년을 기준으로 충북지역의 과수 화상병 발생 원인 분석을 통하여 발생 경로 차단을 위한 역학조사를 실시하였다. 1. 충주시 등 3개 시군의 전체 221농가 141ha에서 과수 화상병이 발생하였으며, 세부적인 연도별 발생현황은 2015년(2농가 1ha), 2018년(74농가 51.5ha), 2019년(145농가 88.9ha) 로 나타났다. 2. 과수 화상병의 발생시기는 주로 5월부터 8월 사이로 나타났으며, 특히 6월(73.8%)이 가장 많이 발생하였으며, 7월 (17.2%), 5월(7.6%), 8월(1.4%)순으로 나타났다. 3. 과수 화상병 발생 의심 신고 후 확진 매몰까지 소요기간은 11.9일이었고, 발생에서 매몰까지의 기간은 최단 5일에서 최장 19일로 조사되었다. 4. 병원균의 최초 발생지로부터의 확산 거리는 평균 21 km로 나타났으며 가장 먼거리는 음성군 비산면으로 34 km였다.
적조가 처음 시작되는 해역을 조기에 파악하기 위하여 Quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR)을 경남해역 적조현장에 활용하였다. 2019년 경남해역을 대상으로 Cochlodinium polykrikoides를 qPCR로 정량분석한 결과, 6월 초에 저밀도로(0.0015~0.0058 cells mL-1) 검출되기 시작하여 8월 중순에는 최대 0.163 cells mL-1 밀도로 증가하였고, 주로 남해도 주변에서 높게 검출되었다. 8월 말에는 현미경 검경으로 남해도 주변에서 높게 출현함이 확인되었고(최대 24 cells mL-1), 9월 2일에는 남해도에서 적조주의보가 발령되었고(최대 200 cells mL-1), 9월 11일에는 최대 12,000 cells mL-1까지 남해도 해역에서 발생하였다. 위 결과는 극미량의 C. polykrikoides이 적조발생 전에 남해도에서 검출 되었고 이후 같은 해역에서 적조가 발생되었음을 보여준다. 이는 qPCR이 극미량의 C. polykrikoides을 조기검출하는데 유용한 방법임을 보여준다.
여름 동중국해 북부해역 (32°N~33°N, 124°E~127° 30ʹE)에서 수괴에 따른 미소플랑크톤에 속하는 식물플랑크톤 군집 및 섬모충류 현존량의 공간분포 및 저차영양단계의 생태구조 특성을 파악하기 위한 현장조사를 2019년 8월 3일부터 8월 6일까지 21개 정점의 표층과 Chl-a 최댓 층 (CML)을 대상으로 채수하였다. 결과 북부해역의 수괴는 크게 중국연안수 (CCW) 및 쓰시마난류 (TWC)로 구분 되었다. CCW는 고온, 저염의 환경특성을, 그리고 TWC는 고온, 고염의 환경특성을 나타내었다. 수괴에 따른 식물플랑크톤 군집특성은 CCW가 중국의 대형하천에서 공급되는 영양염류에 의해 다양한 군집구조를 보인 반면, TWC는 남방의 빈영양 외해역에서 발원하여 북상하고 있어 단조로운 군집특성을 나타내었다. 식물플랑크톤과 섬모충류의 현존량은 CCW에서 매우 높았고, TWC에서 낮은 특성을 보였다. 특히 TWC에서 식물플랑크톤에 비해 높은 섬모충류의 현존량을 보이는 것에서 세균 등을 먹이원으로 하는 미세먹이망에 의한 저차영양단계의 에너지흐름 이 자원생물 생산에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 판단되었다. 즉 여름 동중국해의 생태구조는 수괴에 따라 CCW가 bottom-up system 구조라면, TWC는 top-down system 구조를 갖는 것으로 추정되었다.
Ixodidae에 속하는 일부 참진드기들은 중증열성혈소판감소증후군(severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome; SFTS)을 비롯한 질병을 매개하는 공중보건학적으로 중요한 해충이다. 우리나라에서는 2013년 이후로 SFTS 환자 발생수가 지속적으로 증가하는 경향을 보이며, 경상북도는 전국적으로 2번째로 많은 SFTS 환자가 발생하는 지역이다. 본 연구에서는 2019년 경북 상주 지역의 진드기 분포를 조사하기 위해 시민의 생활 반경 주변을 도심 녹지지역, 관리 취약지역 및 농촌지역으로 구별하여 flagging 방법을 통해 진드기를 채집하였고, 채집 진드기내 SFTS 바이러스 보균 여부를 조사하였다. 채집된 진드기 수를 Collection Index (CI = tick number / 1h / 2 people)로 산출한 결과, 상주시 내 총 26개 지점에서 작은소피참진드기와 개피참진드기, 일본참진드기를 포함하는 총 CI 143의 진드기가 채집되었고, 그 중 작은소피참진드기가 96.5%(CI 138)로 우점종으로 확인되었다. 채집된 진드기의 약 92%(131 CI)는 인적이 드물고 시청이나 관계 당국의 관리가 이루어지지 않는 관리 취약지역에서 채집되었으나, 도심의 녹지지역와 농촌 지역에서는 8.4%(CI 12)의 진드기만 관찰되었다. 총 CI 143의 진드기를 26개 pooling 한 후 SFTS 바이러스 존재 여부를 조사하였으나, 모두 음성으로 확인되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 지역주민들로 하여금 진드기 매개 질병으로부터 안전한 생활을 하기 위한 권고 자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
2019년 4월부터 10월까지 침입우려 고위험 해충 9종(Aceria diospyri, Bactrocera dorsalis, Bactrocera minax, Bactrocera tsuneonis, Cydia pomonella, Lobesia botrana, Proeulia sp., Solenopsis invicta, Stephanitis takeyai)에 대한 예찰조사를 7개 권역에서 실시하였다. 총 7권역, 87지 역, 288지점에서 총 12,285개의 트랩운용/달관조사를 완료하였으며, A. diospyri, B. dorsalis, B. minax, B. tsuneonis, C. pomonella, L. botrana, Proeulia sp., S. invicta, S. takeyai는 발견되지 않았다. 본 조사 연구는 2018년부터 지속적으로 실시하고 있으며, 고위험 해충의 전국단위의 감시 체계를 구축 및 예찰조사 거점 지역을 확보하였다.
