        KAS360-22 종자에 1998년 250 Gy의 감마선을 조사하였다. 그 후대에서 미이라병에 저항성을 가지는 계통을 선발・육성하여, ‘원율’로 명명하고 2009년에 최종적으로 품종보호권을 출원 신청하여 2012년 등록 완료하였다. 원품종 KAS360-22의 종피색이 노란색인데 반하여 신품종 ‘원율’은 갈색을 나타냈다. 100립중은 재래종 KAS360-22이 17.2 g, ‘원율’은 27.5 g으로 종자무게는 증가하였으며, ‘일품검정콩’(27.4g)과는 별다른 차이를 보이지 않았다. 신품종 ‘원율’의 10a 당 수량은 미이라병 발병 조건에서 233.3 kg으로 재래종 KAS360-22 (24.9 kg)에 비교하여 10.6배 가량 높았고, 대조구 ‘일품검정콩’(121.4 kg)에 비교하여도 1.9배 가량 높아 밥밑용 콩으로 안정적인 수량 확보가 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

        ‘원흑’은 나물콩 특성이 우수한 고품질 내재해 다수성 신품종육성을 목표로 ‘다원콩’과 ‘진주1호’의 F1에 ‘진주1호’를 다시 교배하여 계통육종법으로 선발한 YS1318B-2B-3-3-3-4-1계통으로 계통명은 익산63호이다.유한신육형으로 꽃색은 자색이고 잎의 모양은 난형이며 종피색과 제색은 흑색이며, 성숙기가 지나도 협개열에 강하다. 성숙기는 10월 4일로 ‘다원콩’보다 10일이 늦은 만숙종으로 경장이 다소 길고, 꼬투리수가 많으며, 종자 100립의 무게는 8.8 g으로 ‘다원콩’보다 작은 소립이다. 바이러스 접종시 모자이크를 보이나 포장에서는 강하며 불마름병은 ‘다원콩’보다 강한 중도저항성을 보였다. 종실의 조단백과 조지방함량은 ‘다원콩’과 비슷하며, 콩나물의 아스파라긴산 함량은 낮았으나 이소플라본 함량이 ‘다원콩’의 2배 이고, GABA 함량이 높은 고기능성 품종이다. 콩나물재배시 경실과 비정상발아율이 낮고 발아율과 배축신장성이 좋으며 수율이 풍산나물콩에 비해 20% 높았다. 수량성은 2007년부터 2009년까지 3년간 실시한 지역적응시험 결과 전국 6개소 평균수량은 ha당 2.34톤으로서 ‘다원콩’보다 128% 증수하였다.

        새로운 팥 품종 새길 Vigna angularis은 년 밀양 국립식량과학원에서 개발하였다 새길 은 충주재래 를 모본으로 하고 충주팥전남재래 호 을 부본으로 교배하여 품종을 개발하였다 조숙 대립 내재해성 계통으로 선발된 품종으로 밀양 로 명명하였으며 년간 지역적응시험을 실시한 결과 고품질의 내재해 다수성 품종으로 선발하여 이후 새길 로 명명하였다 새길 은 개화기 및 성숙기가 대조군인 충주팥에 비해 일 빠르고 개화기간은 일 짧다 생산력검정시험 결과 립중은 으로 충주팥보다 무거웠으며 당 평균수량은 으로 나타났다

        Soybeans [Glycine max (L.) Merr] are an important source of nutrients including protein, oils and various useful secondary metabolites. Phosphatidylcholine (PC) component serves as a nerve cell membrane material and a choline supplier, so it may improve memory function in subjects suffering from memory impairment and dementia. Content of PC component in soybean seed may depend on genotype and environment. Genotype with high PC content is valuable in breeding project. Fifty-seven soybean genotypes were cultivated at first year. After harvesting, PC contents were analyzed. Content (mg/kg) of PC component was from 7.02 to 19.55. At second year, 111 genotypes including 57 genotype used at first year were cultivated. After harvesting, PC contents were analyzed. Content (mg/g) of PC component was from 0.061 to 12.324.

        High temperature impediment in developing stages of crops has been occurred due to the impact of global warming. Rice production is notable to be sensitive to increasing environmental temperature and grain filling temperatures are already approaching threatening levels in many countries with rice cultivation. Recent proteomic analyses exposed impulsive changes of metabolisms during rice grain development. Interestingly, proteins involved in glycolysis, citric acid cycle, lipid metabolism, and proteolysis were accumulated at higher levels in mature grain than those of developing stages. High temperature (HT) stress in rice ripening period enhances damaged (chalky) grains which have loosely compacted shape starch granules. We carried out two-dimensional gel electrophoresis to analyze protein profiles during grain filling and different developmental stages of rice seed maturation. Proteins were separated from the fertilized seeds (seeds from 7 days and 21 days after fertilization) and seed maturation stage using IEF in the first-dimension and SDS-PAGE in the second dimension along with MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. More than 1,000 protein spots were detected on a two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. A total of 120 different protein spots out of 140 protein spots were identified by MALDI-TOF and nano LCQ-TOF mass spectrometer. The identified proteins were categorized into six (6) different groups according to their expression patterns during grain filling and seed maturation. Some proteins were confirmed during seed development stages such as cytoplasmic malate dehydrogenase, whereas others were appeared at a specific stage like putative subtilisin-like protease, germin-like, seed allergenic proteins. Furthermore, the chalking mechanism of rice grain under the HT stress could be discussed in terms of grain starch glycome, transcriptome, and proteome.

        Grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) is a major staple for a large portion of the world. The crop ranks fifth among the cereals world-wide with respect to its importance for food and feed applications. To this end, the grain harvested from sorghum, and the millets provides an important source for dietary calories and protein for approximately one billion people in the semi-arid regions of the world. However, grain sorghum products are known to have relatively poor digestibility, only approximately 50%–70%, in comparison with other grains, such as wheat and maize, which tend to have digestibility percentages over 80% and 70%, respectively. Protein with high digestibility is by definition nutritionally superior owing to the increased availability of amino acids. Digestibility can be impacted by both protein–protein and⁄or protein–nonprotein interactions. However, with respect to grain sorghum, it is thought that the major factor influencing digestibility is the former because of high protein cross-linking around the protein body. To understand the mechanism of seed storage proteins in the sorghum, the proteomic analysis was carried out between the wild(BTX623) and mutant(M271207) genotypes of sorghum. Proteins were separated from the mature seed using IEF in the first-dimension and SDS-PAGE in the second dimension along with hybrid LTQ-FTICR mass spectrometry. After image analysis using Progenesis SameSpot software, we identified the 62 differential expressed protein spots out of 293 protein spots. Out of total differential expressed spots, 35 differential expressed protein spots (more than2-fold) were analyzed by mass spectrometry. Out of 35 protein spots, we were identified 20 protein spots as up-regulated and 15 protein spots as downregulated, significantly. In our proteomic investigation, the candidate proteins may provide novel clues for better understanding the characteristics of seed proteins in Sorghum.

        The objective of this study was to evaluate the quality characteristics of mungbean starch gels that were prepared with different concentrations (0, 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5%) of peach seed powders (PSP), which exhibit antioxidant characteristics. Mungbean starch gel samples were prepared and subjected to quality characteristics such as moisture content, general components, color, texture profile analysis, total polyphenol contents, DPPH radical scavenging activity, and sensory qualities. The L-value and the a-value for color decreased significantly, whereas the b-value increased significantly as the PSP concentration increased (p<0.05). In the texture profile analysis, the mungbean starch gel with 1.5% PSP showed significantly lower degrees of hardness, cohesiveness, springiness, gumminess and brittleness (p<0.05). The total polyphenol content was highest in the 1.5% PSP to which mungbean starch gel was added, which also showed a higher than 70% DPPH radical scavenging activity level in a dose-dependent manner (p<0.05). In the sensory test of the mungbean starch gel, its sensory scores for flavor and taste were highest in the 0.5% PSP to which mungbean starch gel was added.

        ‘호반’은 대립이며 종자 특성이 우수한 GWS91을 모본으로 하고 Lipoxygenase 2와 3이 결핍된 ‘진품콩’을 부본으로1995년도에 인공교배를 하고 1996년부터 1997년까지 F1-F2양성하였다. 1998년부터 2003년도에 F3 이후 세대를 전개하며 계통육종법으로 선발한 GSL95102-2B-16-5-1-1계통으로계통명은 ‘강원5호’이다. ‘호반’의 주요특성으로는 유한신육형이며 꽃색은 자색이고 엽형은 난형이다. 입형은 편구형이고종피색은 황색, 제색은 황색이며 100립중은 29.0 g으로 대립이다. 개화기는 7월 23일, 성숙기는 10월 5일로 ‘진품콩 2호’와 유사한 중만생종이다. 종실 성분중 조단백함량은 39.0%로‘진품콩 2호’와 유사하였고, 조지방 함량은 18.5%로 다소 높았다. 기능성 성분중 아이소플라본 함량이 1,995 ㎍/g 로‘진품콩 2호’보다 25% 높았으며, 콩 비린내 유발 효소인 Lipoxygenase 2가 결핍되었다. 조단백 함량은 ‘진품콩 2호’와 유사하였으나, 조지방 함량은 다소 높았고, 메주와 청국장가공 시 발효정도와 풍미가 ‘진품콩 2호’보다 양호하였으며,청국장 수율도 높았다. 수량성은 2004년부터 2006년까지 3년간 실시한 지역적응시험결과 단작지에서 2.69 MT/ha로‘진품콩 2호’ 2.62 MT/ha 대비 3% 증수하였고, 이모작지에서는 2.60 MT/ha로 ‘진품콩 2호’ 2.59 MT/ha와 차이가 없었다.
