Bang walls surround the four sides of Band in ancient capital cities of East Asia where the Bang system was in operation. There are ongoing research efforts for the structure of a capital city and Bang system around the capital of Silla, but there is a huge shortage of research on Bang walls. This study thus set out to examine Bang walls in the capital of Silla around the Hwangnyongsa Temple and its surroundings. The findings show that the Bang walls in the capital of Silla were built with a mix of earth and stone and with tiled roofs on top. The sizes of Bang walls were distinguished from the walls of individual structure groups inside Bang and closely related to the Bang size and the width of adjacent roads.

The markets are the basic urban facilities for maintaining daily life. Although the urban structure changed rapidly and the population quickly concentrated in the city, the markets remained traditional and backward. To solve various problems in the small excess markets, the Seoul Metropolitan Government had pushed ahead with the market modernization plan since 1967. The purpose of this study is to analyze the process of establishing the market modernization plan and the progress of this project, and to identify the historical meaning of this plan. The results of this study as follows; The market modernization plan aimed to modernize market operation system as well as buildings, and the Government was able to achieve its first goal by enforcing the construction of high-rise buildings, as the markets were newly built with the relatively large scaled fireproof structures. Despite its various limitations, these markets were also regarded as the model of the modern market.

This paper analysed the architectural images on Pleasant Gathering of Leeum, Samsung museum of art, which has been assumed as a work of the Koryo dynasty. Through the comparison between the unique wooden structure at roof edge on the building images and real architectures, it found the buildings on the painting were from China Fujian(福建), not from Korea. It also analysed the color painting on buildings, trees, themes from previous famous paintings and dresses to confirm these images were came from the early period of the Ming dynasty. It is a very unique painting containing various information on the Fujian ancient architecture, but its architecture drawing is not as skillful as typical ancient Chinese paintings.
